Temple of Hellion Round 2

Init: Urgeon, Hellion, Meyanda, Oskar, Ridic, Acolytes & Robots, Razorend, Nalakai, Kovax

Urgeon blasts a pair of missiles at the half orc that cause him to grunt in pain, but otherwise ignore.

Hellion waves his hand with a laugh and a cold, cloying miasma of greasy darkness descends upon the party.

Good characters: Evil Damage: 4d8 ⇒ (2, 5, 2, 8) = 17 + be sickened for 1d4 ⇒ 1 rounds: Will Save DC18 for half damage/no sickened
Neutral characters: Half damage, no sickened; quarter damage on successful save

Meyanda rushes around the corner with a yell, firing the blunderbluss loudly at Hellion. The retort echoes and the smoke clears as the bullet passes harmlessly through Hellion to ricochet against the far wall.

To hit: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (4) + 5 = 9; miss

Oskar smashes himself with his blunderbuss causing harm and hollering something inane, but then slips and stumbles as he stands on the edge of the pit still. (Reflex Save DC18 with a +2 bonus or fall in)

Ridic takes a swing at the nearest acolyte with his scythe

To hit: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (11) + 7 = 18; HIT!
Damage: 2d4 + 4 ⇒ (2, 3) + 4 = 9

The robots and acolytes down below struggle to get up and fail miserably. The acolyte that Ridic just stabbed stumbles back and calls upon Hellion to confuse the druid. (Will Save DC13 or be confused ... Urgeon, can you roll that for him?)

The two acolytes in the rear split up, one moving forward before he raises his claw and channels negative energy out in a blast. (Everyone take 1d6 ⇒ 5 negative energy damage, Will DC11 for half ... Urgeon for Ridic, again please) The rear acolyte takes up position in front of Nalakai touching him for a moment and causing the half-orc's eyes to glaze over with madness.

Razorend shadow steps across the room catching Nalakai by surprise and cutting him sharply. The priest steps to the south (Or north if Razorend wanted to appear to the south of him instead, let me know) and casts a spell, sneering at the android. "Flee!" (Will Save DC13 or obey the command to the best of your ability)

Then to add insult to injury, he forgets to watch his step and falls into the pit.

How is it possible that my horrible dice rolls follow me into a PbP game? Do the enemys in the pit get AoO against a falling foe?

Oskar bellows a curse as he lands in the pit. He lands on his butt. begins to stand up.

They will not get an AoO as you fall, but will get one when you stand

and it's a 30 foot fall, so you take 2d6 more damage. Good news is, you will likely hit one of the others and they will take damage too

Temple of Hellion Round 3

Kovax cuts down a near acolyte and then fires a flaming round pellet into the face of one in the rear. The man plunges its face into both its hands screaming for a moment before he collapses to the ground, a smoking hole remaining.

Urgeon color sprays the remaining acolyte to the north blasting her into unconciousness.

Will Save: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (10) + 4 = 14

Hellion smiles evilly and throws a spray of purple motes at Nalakai, driving the half-orc priest into an enraged divine fury.

Meyanda reloads and fires a round at the remaining acolyte grazing him.

To hit: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (9) + 7 = 16; HIT!
Damage: 1d8 ⇒ 1

Oskar, having slid onto the robot earlier stands up, drawing attacks from the various creatures in the pit around him. He gets cut by a rotary saw on the robot's arm. (Oskar actually still has a standard action if he wishes to take it now)

Ridic, without enemies, moves in to engage the remaining acolyte which turns and attacks him striking with its claw.

The robot in the same square as Oskar is unable to attack him, but does cause him to be squeezed (See condition squeezed). The other 3 attack, but the dwarf bobs and weaves taking a couple ineffectual hits on his armor.

Frustrated that he cannot dismiss the pit, Urgeon begins casting summon monster II. "Help is on the way Oskar!"

Next round Urgeon will place the elemental in the earth on the edge of the bottom of the pit such that it can attack the automotons.

Kovax moves up and fires melting a hole through the acolytes chest, dropping it, but forgetting where he is, windmills his arms on the slant and falls down into the vacated space.

Urgeon starts summoning an ally as Hellion distorts into a collage of confusing lights and motes. The fiend itself is nowhere to be seen.

Everyone (including baddies, excluding people in the pit) make a Will save DC19 or be confused

Just realized, that I still need a confusion save from Razorend for last round, so there might be a slight retcon if necessary

Kovax drops the remaining pit-acolyte and dances dangerously along the edge of the pit. (Not sure why there are reflex saves this time, but it matters not)

Urgeon unloads magic missiles into the priest who is beginning to slow considerably. HIs elemental extracts itself from the metal walls of the pit and smashes the robot with a metal clang.

The confusing vision disappears leaving nothing behind on the table. There is no longer any sign of Hellion other than a receding chuckle.

Meyanda turns and looks angrily at Urgeon, leveling her blunderbuss and firing at him point blank. The wizard leaps out of the way of the explosion.

Meyanda confusion: 1d100 ⇒ 90

Oskar, constrained below, can't get a good swing, and his axe bangs against the side of the pit before it ineffectually glances off the saw-wielding robot.

I keep forgetting that as a blight druid, Ridic has this ability, Miasma

Starting at 5th level, if a blight druid is adjacent to a creature at the beginning of its turn, the creature must succeed at a Fortitude save with a DC of 10 + 1/2 the druid’s level + the druid’s Wisdom modifier or become sickened for 1 round. A creature of the animal, fey, or plant type that fails its save is nauseated for 1 round and sickened for 1 minute thereafter. If the creature makes its save, it is immune to this effect for 24 hours, as are creatures immune to disease.

Does this affect multiple opponents, or do I have to choose one?

@Ridic, it affects anyone next to you. It's an aura.

@Kovax ... reflex save only required if you end your turn in a space next to the pit, reference discussion with Urgeon above or the actual spell description itself.

Acolyte Fort Save: 1d20 ⇒ 14; fail

The acolyte coughs and gags being next to Ridic, allowing the druid the opportunity to cut him down.

The robot is relentless and single minded in its pursuit of Oskar, slicing with his saw blade again. The dwarf ducks his head and blocks with his helmet, scoring a line across the top.

Robot vs Oskar: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (2) + 8 = 10

Razorend loses himself in the colors for a moment but slashes out in a moment of lucidity, cutting a fine line across Nalakai's throat. The horc stands stupefied for a moment before a torrent of blood rushes out spraying all over the place. His dead body collapses .... the second Lord of Rust felled.

@Kpvax. Down to just the robot, now. Oskar, earth ellie and anyone who wants to stand near the pit making reflex saves. Meyanda and Razorend are both still confused. Meyanda will pull out of it next round

Another crappy phone post

Kovax laughs at his friends as Urgeon directs his elemental. The ellie slams the robot again and although its hard outer shell absorbs most of the blow, some cracks appear.

Oskar thrashed around like a fool and is joined by Razorend flipping about like a dead fish. Meyanda gathers herself and Ridic stands by as well.

Unless folks outside the pit are doing something, it's back to the ellie.
