I just ninja'd your last post, DM. I hit it too!
And I ninja edited my previous post... ;P
Lirotha Karsani |
Removed the Hell Hound from the map.
Lirotha tries to cower from the flames she knew were coming...
Reflex: 1d20 + 5 + 2 ⇒ (20) + 5 + 2 = 27
...and manages to do it with style!
Shrugging, Lirotha snarls at the evil woman blocking their passage forward and claws the air in her direction!
"SLEEP *ITCH"
Slumber Hex DC:14
Morricone |
Morricone looks at the deep gash in his left shoulder and winces.
But this is not the time to feel pain and he steps up, whirling his sword as he does.Attack: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (2) + 6 = 81d8 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 4 = 10
The Hound Of Kintargo |
The Hound reloads his pistol takes aim at the glaive wielding woman attacking Morricone.
"Morricone! Down!" he yells then a loud crack fills the air.
Attack: 1d20 + 8 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 8 + 1 = 17
Damage: 1d8 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 1 + 1 = 10

"I don't think so. Soon you won't sleep anymore. For what you did to Mephiry I'm going to kill the lot of you, raise you, torture you, kill you again and then repeat the cycle!" the woman says. The Hound's shot seems to have hit and caused some damage but she doesn't seem to care...

DM Elan Morin |
Surrounded again Kurglunn decides that discretion is the better part of valor and flees through the northern wall.
As he does so Rocco tries his magic against the enemy leader...
Kurglunn withdraws and Rocco casts daze on Nox
Will Save: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (16) + 4 = 20
But the evil woman's mind seems impregnable to such assaults.
Startled and frustrated Nox minions move back towards the fray but only one of them is in position to attack Morricone and he does so by charging into the hero!
Attack roll (Green vs Morricone): 1d20 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (14) + 2 + 2 = 18 -> Damage roll: 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5
The monk lands a solid hit on the bard as his flying kick hits Morricone on the sternum.
And of course, the woman called Nox follows suit by stepping back and slashing again with her deadly glaive...
Attack roll (Nox vs Morricone): 1d20 + 11 - 2 ⇒ (5) + 11 - 2 = 14 -> Damage roll: 1d10 + 8 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 8 + 4 = 13

Lirotha heals Valrani, Oren imbibes a potion curing herself, Morricone sees the wisdom of retreating.
Valrani makes use of the brief moment of respite to cast a spell on Oren increasing her strength (Bull's strength).
Kurglunn pokes his head back into the hall and Rocco tries to make the huge brute flee with his magic (Cause fear)
Will Save (The Lout): 1d20 + 1 + 1 - 2 ⇒ (5) + 1 + 1 - 2 = 5
The misshapen creature pales visibly shakes and runs away! ForRounds: 1d4 ⇒ 1
Once again Talon aims for the enemy leader, this time using his musket (when did Talon recharge it, btw?) and shoots. There's a huge explosion with smoke clouding everyone's vision for just a moment, then when it dissipates... Nox is still standing, even if the shot has visibly affected her this time!
She curses and shoots Talon a killing glance before moving near one of the redactors, putting herself under cover. "It's nothing! The wound will heal in a matter of minutes. Concentrate on bringing me their heads instead!", she shouts at her remaining minions as she casts something on one of them...
Two of the redactors spring into action charging Oren and Valrani!

DM Elan Morin |
Lirotha goes after Morricone and heals him. His wounds are still severe but thanks to the potion he imbibes they are magically erased in a matter of seconds!
Oren hits the black garbed monk once but it's enough to bring down the already wounded opponent.
Talon shoots the other monk, he hits but the man, while wounded, still stands.
Once again Kurglunn shifts through the walls and gets back out to safety on the Silver Ravens' side of the battlefield.
Rocco tries his magic at the redactor in green... Cast Daze
Will Save (green): 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (12) + 5 = 17

And Valrani swings her scimitar against the same redactor...

Oren Mitabu |
Oren moves forward and tries to eliminate the yellow enemy while the others close in to support her.
Will someone move me? I'll use the first attack from my previous post.
DM Elan Morin |
Lirotha heals Rocco, Morricone gets back near his friends, the Hound reloads his firearms and Oren advances alone against the last remaining asmodeans headbutting the one in yellow who was expecting her and tries to answer in kind...
Readied attack (yellow vs Oren): 1d20 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 + 2 = 7 -> Damage roll: 1d6 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 + 2 = 6
...without much luck though.
Meanwhile Valrani follows Oren into the fray, ignoring the disgusting creature Nox just pulled out of Hell and targetting Oren's opponent...
Attack roll (Valrani vs Yellow): 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (2) + 7 = 9 -> Damage roll: 1d6 + 6 ⇒ (1) + 6 = 7
... Unfortunately this time she doesn't hit her mark
Rocco moves near the fray and positions himself out of the way, ready to use his magic as soon as possible and Kurglunn gets near the other Silver Ravens.
Despite his previous ineffectiveness the Yellow redactor tries again to smash Oren...

Rocco Hardweather |
And...I’m back! Thanks for botting, GM!
Rocco moves around and positions himself between the middle two tables, healing wand held at the ready. He calls out to Kurglunn and challenges the phantom to overcome his fear and rejoin the fight.
Kurglunn moves directly in front of his small friend, and Rocco provides him with magical healing so that he can get back in without being destroyed.
CLW wand: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2
So to clarify, Rocco moves 20 ft (15 right, 5 up) to stand between the tables and draws his CLW wand, then readies to cast the spell when Kurglunn is in range. Kurglunn moves 45 feet to the right to stand in front of Rocco. Once Kurglunn is there, Rocco casts the spell.
_Valrani |
Indeed I am, but still playing catch-up
Badly wounded, but realising there was no time for healing, Valrani redoubles her efforts, trying to finish off the foul creature that stands next to her and Oren.
attack: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (17) + 7 = 24

DM Elan Morin |
Oren knocks down the last redactor and then advances on Nox and hits her once with a kick. Not enough to knock her down but the Tien is sure her attack at least had some effect.
Lirotha follows her example and casts her magic on one of her cards, hitting the enemy leader as well. Yet she still stands.
Rocco and Kurglunn move behind their companions and the halfling uses his wand to heal his undead friend a little.
Morricone casts his magic on the brutish ogrekin...

@Lirotha: duly noted but doesn't really matter at this point
Nox curses loudly as Talon's shot hits her again. For a moment she seems ready to attack Oren again but then she thinks better of it:"Kill them! I'll warn the Master about this outrage!" she says as she steps back from the Tien brawler and disappears out of thin air, leaving her minions to fend for themselves!

Before concluding book 1 and in light of Nox successful escape I think it fair to warn you there's more treasure to be claimed here but to gain it you'll need to defeat Yilliv, since it's found in the library it's guarding and searching it would compel the Scrivenite to attack. Your choice: do you want to get the loot of do you prefer to get away without facing the Scrivenite?[/ooc]

If anyone's can do any healing, I think we need to heal up and then go take out the guardian. I, at least, spent a decent chunk of resources/potions to get through this in one piece and more treasure would be helpful.

@Morricone: As said before these particular Asmodeans eschewed material wealth apparently... XD. Also, don't forget you found a cache of magical stuff in a secret compartment, some of it is really good, for example the headband fro Val
