The scrivenite supernatural agility allows it to avoid most of the Silver Ravens (and summoned help) attacks. Only Oren manages to hit the creature again, but the damage keeps getting reduced...

Oren strikes true again. Despite its supernatural defenses, the scrivenite seems to weaken a little under the barrage of hits. Despite this Yilliv keeps methodically attacking Oren.

Even with my Flanking bonus back from Vakrani that's probably a squeaker miss too. If that's your ruling I won't argue here. Thanks GM. Since I did a melee attack and I missed, do I still have the lit tindertwig so I can try again next round?

The Silver Ravens continue their relentless assault and in the end it's Kurglunn who scores the finishing blow dispersing Yiiliv into a literal cloud of book pages flying everywhere.
Seems like you managed to defeat the Scrivenite although the fight took its toll on you...
Very little of value remains on the shelves here—there are only a few dozen books left.
_Valrani |

I'm not sure if you can be buried as such, or if the essence of you has returned to some celestial library, but I will treasure your commitment to your contract.
"Look here... a secret panel...."
Oren Mitabu |
Oren sat down right in the floor, breathing heavily. For the life of her, she couldn’t think of what to do next. ”We win?”
The Hound Of Kintargo |
The Hound walks over to Oren and kneels beside her. "yeah kid, we did."
Then puts a hand on her shoulder. "You doin okay? You were a champ back there."
DM Elan Morin |

The secret panel discovered by Valrani is locked. You can try to get it open with larceny DC30 disable device check or you can use some more conventional methods. Once opened the secret compartment reveals several interesting items
Remember you need the appropriate Appraise and/or detect magic-spellcraft combo
Lirotha Karsani |
Lirotha nods and pulls her mask down temporarily to speak.
"Rest Oren! You...all of you did well my pretties! Now the hard part. We MUST loot this place for all the knowledge and treasure we can find. Kurglunn, can you fetch those dead bodies for us again? We need to bring them back for our friend: He must have closure on this. Leaving anything of value here will only empower our enemies and hurt the Ravens!"
She turns and starts giving directives, not waiting to hear protests or even if anybody is actually listening to her.
"Rocco, get that secret panel open that Val found if you can. Try the key too! Here."
She hands the key to Rocco, and quickly points to Morricone.
"Help Oren. Guide her and watch over her. We'll need her strength to carry things until we can 'undo' whatever the Scrivenite did to her mind."
She looks at the Hound.
"Scour this monastery for anything that can be used to carry our booty. Bags, packs, bed-linens, whatever you can scrounge. Bring them here to the library."
Smiling at Val, Lirotha nods eagerly.
"You and I need to gather every book, scroll, or scrap of parchment that could be useful! Bring them here to the library...quickly!"
She then completely turns, looking everyone in the eye.
"Once everything is gathered and packed, we get the heck out of here like our rear ends are on fire! Agreed? For the Silver Ravens! Go."
The Hound Of Kintargo |
The Hound raises a quizzical eyebrow at all the orders that Lirotha's barking then looks at everyone else. Then carries on with everyone about their tasks.
Rocco Hardweather |
Rocco grumbles about being ordered around by some "backwoods card-shuffling hustler," but recognizes a woman with a plan when he sees one and sets about his work. He directs Kurglunn to do the same, motioning for him to retrieve as many of the monks as he could. Before he sends the phantom on his way, though, Rocco has Kurglunn assist him with the hidden compartment that Val had discovered.

Rocco also tries to appraise the books and documents they've found.

Oren couldn't think of anything else to do, so she turned into the requested pack mule. When directed, she helped carry items as the group requested.

The Hound Of Kintargo |
"If you're having trouble with the that lock, I could just try shoot it open. Or just bring it with and open it at HQ." Says the Hound as he checks the tight on his pistol.
Rocco Hardweather |
"Not sure how you'd bring it with, but that's beside the point. Let's see that weapon of yours do something useful. Go ahead, Hound, make my day!" Rocco steps back, obviously grumpy about the difficulty he is having with the lock. He looks over and sees Lirotha struggling to identify some of the loot they had found. "Hey, Lirotha! I got a scroll over here, might help with that." He pulls a scroll of Identify from his scroll case and waves it at Lirotha to offer his assistance.
The Hound Of Kintargo |
The Hound walks over and puts his pistol to the lock...
Not sure how you wanna do this GM, should I just keep shooting for damage/ To see how long it takes?
Lirotha Karsani |
Hold on. There is a feat I think that allows you to shoot a lock open, however I'm not sure you can do it otherwise. Can we just have someone do a crowbar/strength check to open it if the key didn't work? GM? Can we get a quick ruling on the key? Did it work on this stash-lock like it did on the one downstairs?
The Hound Of Kintargo |
Oh right, I think it's actually a Deed or Grit power that lets me do it, or at least lets a gunslinger do it, i don't think this archetype gets it though.
Lirotha Karsani |
GM? Can we get a quick ruling on the key? Did it work on this stash-lock like it did on the one downstairs?
Is this what you are talking about GM?
DM Elan Morin |
Indeed. The mithral key works on this lock too! You gain the loot! Seems like your murd adventurous ways have won the day....
Lirotha Karsani |
OK GM,for simplicity's sake...we need to know if we can lug everything of value we have found out of this place or not? Between the two dead bodies we need to carry back and all the books, it might slow us down too much? Do you want us to check our load limits and start counting all the pounds of weight here? Or do you think with Kurglun carrying the bodies, and Oren's prodigious strength (and the rest of us helping of course), that we can lug all the loot we have found and get away in time? While I'm in favor of the simple version (we get away with pretty much everything) I'm not just going to assume we do so without your permission first.
EDIT:Unless somebody has a better idea than me on how to remove it...I'm afraid we will have to leave the malfunctioning Cubic Gate here regardless.
