So, for my very first campaign - I'll be using most of Leinathan's rules, if anyone of you have played one of his games you should be familiar with them.
So, some guidelines:
1. I'd like you to post at least once per day - I will do my best to keep up, and give you something to post about every day as well. Feel free to take brakes/go about your vacations and what not - just make sure you let me know and I'll DMPC your characters for the duration.
2. Spell-Casters, please post a spoiler in your initial post for when a new day begins/after 8 hours of rest with your prepared spells for the day.
3. Purely OOC things should be posted in the Discussion thread. Verbal dialogue should be like "this", mental dialogue like "this", thoughts like this and actions in normal font.
4. We will be using the 'narrative' form of leveling, meaning I will let you know when it is time to level up your characters. Please post in the discussion thread what you have gained from leveling up, once you have. HP will be gained through the forums dice-roller.
5. Combat: When combat has been declared by me, I will roll initiative for everyone, and then wait for an initial combat post from the PCs. We will be going PCs then Monsters or vice versa, depending on the rolls and surprise rounds etc.
6. I will try to not be too strict when it comes to rules, but I would like you all to strive towards posting correctly and abiding to the rulebook. For spells, it would be great if you link the spell being cast like this: Ray of Frost, as it will save me some time.
7. Please put your stats under the 'class' section of your character, like this - as it also saves me some time. Please strive to keep this section of your character updated at all times during combat. (Class (Archtype) 1 HP 12/12 | AC 18 | T 13 | FF 15 | CMB +4 | F +4 | R +5 | W +0 | Init +3 | Per +5 | Status: Normal)
8. Like Leinathan's campaigns, we will not be taking 10 or 20s, we will roll for everything as I find this a lot more interesting.
If you have any questions, please let me know and I will do my best to answer them.

to link a website (like paizo's PRD) type (using "[" instead of "(") (url=linkedwebsite)whateveryouwanttotype(/url)
dice roller is the same thing, just with (dice=something) 1d20 + 2 (/dice)
At the bottom of the text-window you can see something called "How to format your text" with a show-clicky button. Just press that and everything is explained.

My first reaction was, 2 clerics and an oracle, alright, more healing for my fighter. Then I remembered my level one dip into cleric. I guess I was just trying to get into the spirit of my character.
Anyway. hello everybody. I'm excited to continue my streak of Homebrew Campaigns only, dating back to when Orcs had +2 Str, +2 Wis and -2 INT.

This is only a test.
Casting "Imp Accountant" (aka lesser planar ally) to have fiendish courier/spy/messenger.
>grin<
bluff: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (3) + 9 = 12 to feign innocence.
Like that?

Tarial |

Sorry, I assumed you'd taken the post last night as a check in. I'm here.

Ladder Stonewall |

DM Easy, even though players are good about not meta gaming, i still will not post some of the more important revelations and see if they pass the check first. Just a note.

DM Easy |

Shouldn't be a problem, Ladder - I wont be too strict I'm sure.
Gameplay will be up in a few hours, been to the doctor all day due to my back-problem - so I'll be knocked out of work for a week or so. Currently making dinner at my sisters house and will head home to get this show on the road afterwards. Feel free to get a conversation going here if you wish.

DM Easy |

Marcus once you get here and Tarial: Please update your characters like the others have done, it allows me to see your basic stats without exploring your aliases. Thank you.
Anyhow, I'm sure the others will be along shortly. I guess different time-zones are always a factor during PbPs, so I'll just open the gameplay thread and let the campaign commence.

Tarial |

Regret? Noooo. I like to think of it as more pre-emptively altering your expectations.

Marcus Teric |

Bad case of having to catch up there. But I should keep to my normal checking 10 times a day. will update alias to needed format in a sec.

There's really no point in learning Abyssal, in the regular course of things: it just gives demons yet another chance to lie to you...
>cocks eyebrow at DM Easy<
... of course, [i]some[/] people seem to like it.
;)

Prism by night. Found an image that depicted the sky during night-time as I imagined it. Perhaps not entirely what I had in mind - but close.

DM Easy |

Dear me, I seem to have forgotten to explain as to how combat will function.
Well, allow me to reveal how I am planning to run combat.
We will be using maps, some created by me others created by the website (I bought a bunch of maps, and will buy more as the need arises). These will be uploaded to Google Documents, and you will be able to move your own tokens as the battle progresses (hooray, interactive maps!).
When I initiate combat, I will roll Initiative for the group & the enemies (I find this is the best solution for PbPs, but if you guys have found a better way then please do elaborate as to how and why your solution is better) - and then either the monsters or the PCs act.
Example:
Monsters act 1-50, PCs act 51-100
Group Initiative: 1d100 ⇒ 94
Initiative PCs
Hero 1: 1d20 ⇒ 13
Hero 1: 1d20 ⇒ 17
Hero 1: 1d20 ⇒ 8
Hero 1: 1d20 ⇒ 7
Hero 1: 1d20 ⇒ 2
Monsters
Monster 1: 1d20 ⇒ 16
Monster 2: 1d20 ⇒ 19
Which means the PCs act first, in order of initative (Hero 2,1,3,4,5).
This is, of course, only when both groups are aware of each other. Suprise rounds etc turn everything upside down, and we will use initiative rolls to determine who acts first. But as a general rule, all the heroes get to act, then the monsters and vice versa. Easier to wait for everyone to post their actions that way.
Any questions?

Tarial |

I need more skill points. Maybe I shouldn't have focused on Craft - Food...
Also, are we going to end up solving this puzzle box and opening a hell portal?

Ladder Stonewall |

Comments/Questions:
1. Good job so far
2. Is there a private dining room in The Hanged Man
3. Would we know what a bloodstone is on sight or do we need to roll?
4. so many storylines.

DM Easy |

1. Thank you Ladder - and very much appreciated. I'm hoping I can keep all of you entertained throughout the campaign.
2. There is, on the second floor - Rythari would have that information - but I might as well let you know right here. There's so much to tell and describe, that such things can quickly fall under the "I think I already told them that"-category.
3. A bloodstone is listed in the standard treasure category of the gamemaster's guide, I assumed most of your characters knew what it is (a common gem worth roughly 50 gp).
4. I wanted to make the Hanged Man a place where several storylines could branch out from - and the real reason for why I've got quite a few characters established early in the campaign; is because I'd rather create a living, breathing city where you actually feel part of a large community. I want to create immersion for the PCs, and poke you with several mysteries/storylines to make you want to explore more.
I'm sorry if you feel it is too much, but I'm hoping you're all enjoying yourselves thus far - I know I am, and I have to thank all of you for that.
Edit: Also, I think that my biggest challenge in this whole endeavor I've set myself on to is the fact that English is not my first language and that when constructing a sentence or dialogue, you *think* you've covered what you wanted to tell, but sometimes you need to hold more information to actually feel like it makes sense - and that whole mental-struggle can be daunting at times. Fun, most certainly - but equally daunting.

Marcus Teric |

All sounding good so far sir. Trust me, I understand english as the second language barrier. It seems to be working out for you though.

Keilaantara 'Marukh |

Enjoying everything so far; the multiple possibilities are great -- much more like a real life than a single-track. And I haven't noticed any problems with your English, so that's well-enough by me (as a native English-speaker, who strives for the use of actual English more than the U.S. idiom in which I grew up).
Bloodstone, also called Jasper; a mottled green-and-red stone, typically opaque. Its colors tend towards deep and rather dull (hence, its listing as a semi-precious, second-or-third-tier stone).
Keep it up! Very happy to be here.

Ladder Stonewall |

DM Easy, for the record, and it hasn't happened yet, I believe that if anyone were to detect magic on me there would be an enchantment spell visible. I'm not sure how you would like to work that though, and I'll leave it to your discretion.
