Dessarin, how much coin did you give Zomith.
Abu has paid 5 gold, Kroger has paid 3. So the innkeeper will return 2 gold to Kroger.
Updates coming later tonight. Feel free to talk in character until then.

Hello all,
Vikral Ramshaan has informed me that he is unable to keep up with the posting as well as his other games. As the party numbered 6, I won't be looking for a replacement player at this time. I believe the current group has enough diversity and interesting characters.
Krogar Ironfist
I will be out of country from 13-15 Aug with limited internet access. Bot me as necessary.

Here's an issue I've been going back and forth on. I like to keep the story going, and usually use a majority moves standard. However, I also realize that character choices feel less important if they're just skipped over at times.
Would you rather I prioritize keeping the story moving or making sure everyone posts?
Krogar Ironfist
Keep story moving imo. I'm actually around checking everyday, but there are times that my character has nothing to say about the situation. On those days, I don't post.
Abu Al'Her
Keep the story going. I'll post when i see something that my character would strongly react to.
Krogar Ironfist
I'm not sure how you hit the manticore with your claws as you just fell 60 ft onto the ground unless bears can fly(seriously doubt), you dont have reach to hit it.
DM Default
Dessarin, Krogar is correct. Technically this is still an aerial battle. So unless someone works to ground the beast, either you need to find a way back to the air, or you can prep to chase if it flees or something.
Dessarin the Deceived
Ya that was my mistake, I had a brain fart. I tried to go with it rp wise.
Are any of the knights that fell unconscious? For my turn I would like to heal one of them and then use the other action to stabilize one with a medicine check if there are 2 down.

So I'm going to take a feat this level, and I'm looking at my options, and I'd like to get input from the group. Here are the feats I am thinking about taking, in no particular order:
Alert: Alert gives a substantial bonus to initiative checks, makes it so I am never surprised, and prevents hidden attackers from getting advantage against me.
I like it for the last two parts, but the init bonus doesn't hurt either =)
Blade Master: Gives a +1 bonus to attack rolls with blades, gives me the ability to use my reaction to increase my ac by 1 until the start of my next turn, and gives me advantage on Opportunity attacks if I can take them.
I like it because the bonus to hit offsets me not getting a +2 to dex this level, and I like that it has both offensive and defensive abilities.
Mobile: adds 10' to my speed, I get to ignore difficult terrain when I take the dash action, and when I hit an enemy with an attack, it can't take opportunity attacks on me.
Why I like it: It's an all-around solid and versatile feat.
Finally, Shield Master: If I hit with a melee attack, I can use a bonus action to try to shove the target 5'. If I'm not incapacitated, I get to add my shield bonus to my dex saves against anything that targets only me. If I'm subject to an effect that lets me make a dex save for half damage, I can use my reaction to take no damage instead if I make the save.
So, thoughts?
Krogar Ironfist
I thought shield master had something with prone in it. I remember thinking about getting my rogue to get sneak attacks off by shield bashing to knock prone, before following up with sneak. The only problem was wondering if you could use the bonus action before attack action, then I decided that arguing with the GM on whether it worked that way or not wasn't worth the trouble.
My vote would be for shield master. Im personally going for polearm master.
I've always been fond of trip builds in pathfinder, so I guess some of it carries over. Though standing up does not provoke AOOs in 5e.
Vrog Skyreaver
No it doesn't provoke, which is something I prefer anyway. I'm looking at it right now like each of these feats are kinda a gateway towards how I am going to build Darwin, with the exception of Blade Master, since it's probably just going in my build as it's pretty well-rounded and good.
If I go shield master, I'm probably going to focus on tanking (such as it is). Mobile will mean I'm going to probably multiclass with ranger or rogue and be a skirmish attacker. Alert is pretty much one of the better defensive feats I've seen so far.
BTW, I'm enjoying the RP between our characters so far.
Abu Al'Her
I've been out of it for a little bit. Trying to set up a permanent place of residency here in Japan.
Abu is leveled... i hope i did it right. I went ahead and added the Duel weilding feet since it was what i was aiming for when i created him.
Krogar Ironfist
Japan's a nice place. The foods sooo good =) Only thing is trying to get people to speak to you in English ia a tad troublesome, and I don't speak Japanese :(
Good luck in your house hunt!
I'll take the levelling slow, since this is my 2nd 5e character and highest level one, and I don't want to screw up.
DM Default
Post changes here please, such as +8 hp, +1 athletics, new feats abilities, etc.
Abu Al'Her
..... Now if i could remember everything. Feat Duel wielding, ... how many skill points do we get per level with 5e? I took the base HP +con for the level.
Krogar Ironfist
+7 hp.
Gained following feat instead of Ability score improvement:
Polearm Master
You can keep your enemies at bay with reach weapons.
You gain the following benefits:
When you take the Attack action and attack with only a glaive, halberd, or quarterstaff, you can use a bonus action to make a melee attack with the opposite end of the weapon. The weapon’s damage die for this attack is a d4, and the attack deals bludgeoning damage.
While you are wielding a glaive, halberd, pike, or quarterstaff, other creatures provoke an opportunity attack from you when they enter your reach.
Jamenas
+7 HP
Features gained:Divine Health, Sacred Oath
Sacred Oath:Oath of Vengeance features:Oath spells(bane, hunters mark), and Channel Divinity.
I fixed a few mistakes:
I accidentally calculated my HP wrong. I added CON for only one level, not all three. So I fixed that.
No skill points in 5e, Abu :)

Posting this to all my games, I have a late workday today, and can't guarantee a post tonight. Apologies.
DM Default
I'm posting this to all games I DM for.
I'm currently in the orientation stage of a new job that is scheduling ten 8-hour shifts in the next two weeks. As such, my usual posting rate may decline at points and I hope you'll understand. These intense hours and school will make it harder to find time to post, but after two weeks my posting rate should resume to near-daily.
Thank you for understanding.
Krogar Ironfist
Considering turning murderhobo. Look, I didn't draw weapons, he did. All I did was ask questions...I'll think about it once I finish writing up my essay.
Krogar Ironfist
Ill login to roll 20 to see stuff when I get home, no access atm.
DM Default
Hmm...seems Dessarin is no longer with us, or at least hasn't posted in over a month. Given the slower pace of the game I hadn't noticed. Will shoot him a quick message, but given the passed time...
How are you all feeling about this game?
Abu Al'Her
I am also good.
Krogar Ironfist
Not so good. I feel that things would be smoother if the party was given more direction on what to do. I understand that some people in tabletops like having sandbox stuff, but when it comes to PBP, the communication between GM and players is one step further, thus what seems to be clear on table top may not be perceivable in a PBP.
I.e. we were told to go to the keep to find cultists. We tried to talk our way in, didn't work. Tried asking if they saw anything out of whack, didn't work. Searched grounds to find cultists, don't see anything. I sort of attacked the keep partially out of frustration, feeling that doing something is better then doing nothing, and wanting to get on with the story.
Also, neither the character, nor the player is really interested in political intrigue.
I didn't post earlier because I wanted a moment to gather my thoughts.
DM Default
No worries about speaking your mind Krogar.
Princes of the Apocolypse is definitely designed as a more sandbox game. I tried to lead you guys a few times, and at least keep the scenery interesting so you all would have something to move forward to, but not gonna lie there's a lot of "methodical searching" and "dungeon delving" to be done.
I'm also pretty sure we're down to 4 players now.
What to do....
Would you guys be willing to give me a week to try and restructure this Adventure into something a bit more linear? I know we're in the middle of combat and all, but I feel like I can get the excitement rolling again if I had some time to think up something.
Abu Al'Her
I'm good with either... Trying to make sure one of my PbP games is still alive.
Krogar Ironfist
I personally think if you try to restructure the module in a way its not supposed to be, it will be a lot if work for you. I have recently taken up a little PBP GMing, so yeah.
Time would be bettdr spent IMO, do would to be posting in the discussion thread here on what are the possible leads, so we can pick them up, rather then having to sift through tons of text(increasing the chance of miscommunication between players and GM).
Because what may be a clear lead to you as a GM, may not be clear to a player, since interpretation is subjective. I'm fine having many options and leads, but at least I'd like to see them all on a list. Bonk us on the head with a stick if you have to, the PBP medium is nebulous enough as it is, so subtle stuff will go right over our heads.
DM Default
Alright, going with Krogar's method. Maybe with a bit better ooc communicaiton, the in-game communication will work more smoothly. I'll also try to be less open-ended and more guideful as this Adventure is much to open for that.
Things your characters know:
1. Some have inadvertently joined the Air cultists with a group called the Feathergale Knights. For the time being, they trust you.
2. You are currently in battle with a keep that you don't know if they have anything to do with the Delegations disappearance.
Things I want your character to know, or should have been made aware at the start of the journey.
1. There are evil elemental cults gaining in power, and they should probably be stopped.
2. They still all have their personal missions.
Things I want you as players to know:
1. This is a very dungeon and travel sort of game, let me know if you want more rp or stick with the basics.
2. I will try to be more guiding in my posts so you all have more to work with.
Krogar Ironfist
Can't see roll 20 till I get home, so won't post till then. Since the Feathergale knights are hunting vicious beasts like manticores which could harm innocent travelers, they can't be bad people, can they?
Krogar Ironfist
Thanks on point of interest update list.
Krogar Ironfist
Im unclear - besides the one engaging Jamenas, there are no more on ground level? Could you please remove the guards or put skull symbols on them?
Is there any way to up to deal with those ranged guards above in melee?
DM Default
I've already marked the one who is dead. Krogar and Darwin killed one in the first round, and that one is clearly marked dead.
You could deal with the ranged guards by either using ranged attacks, or finding someone up there either through the keep or scaling the walls.
Krogar Ironfist
Ok because I found it strange there were no melee attacks. Lets get to bashing then.
