Serious question - I'm thinking of taking the Brew Potion feat as my 3rd level feat - this doesn't help us immediately, necessarily, but it will help us in the future as I can make us potions that cost half what we would pay on the open market.
Because I hadn't done the math before, a 1d8 + 1 Cure Light Wounds Potion would cost 25gp instead of 50gp, a 1d8 + 5 CLW potion would cost 125 gp instead of 250 gp and so on. I can also make them twice as fast thanks to a class ability so it's 1 hour for any potion under 250 and 4 hours for any potion up to 1,000 gp.
As early as level 4 I get Cure Moderate Wounds and level 7 I can get Cure Serious Wounds (I think we get there about the end of book 2).
Anyone think it's a good idea or should I skip it and find something else?

I am a big fan of the vanilla bard but arcane trickster is fun also. I would not go the sorcerer route thou. Wizard have much much more synergy between the classes and being a 6th lvl character with only 1st level spells is not fun. Believe me, I have made that mistake once already.

Well that's a good question. My strength's too low for my other good option, Power Attack - with mutagen and enlarge person my strength would goes up 6, so with power attack at low level I take -2 to attack to get +5 damage on attacks, which would make studied strike sick with combat inspiration.
Wish I'd thought of that earlier now that I think about it.
Other than that I'm really not sure what to pick. I wish I was either proficient with slashing weapons and could therefore take "Slashing Grace" after getting weapon focus to deal +Dex to damage or Fencing Grace was in the game now.
Edit: Also, why didn't I know about the Student of Philosophy trait? So much better than Carefully-hidden now.

Well, you just redid your character, maybe DM will let you twink it a bit. He said he would allow a full makeover by the end of the book anyway. Also if you want slashing consider the feral mutagen discovery.
Extra discovery feat is always nice. Save some money for when we hit the magic shop (I wish...) to buy high level potions Mez. Alchemical Allocation extract can do some pretty crazy things like potion of barkskin +4 natural armor or elixir of perception +10 (forgot the real name).

Full twink would be making my first level swashbuckler with slashing grace as a bonus feat.
Add in cat's grace and Dex mutagen and I pick up +4/+4 on each attack, with an inspiring weapon and combat inspiration I could add 2d8 damage to a weapon strike.
Also I don't think we get the extra discovery feat as an option sadly.
Damn you Four Skulls for throwing a wrench in my plan, I don't want to completely remake my backstory for Sumak in order to be a wizard lol. Maybe I will just go bard then, because that would make more sense for my backstory with his obsession with the greatest explorer EVER, Indiana Baggins!!lol

I went the combat route after talking with DM Cuc Jasmine - I'm grabbing weapon focus (rapier) and at level 5 I'll pick up Fencing Grace to do dex-to-damage.
I'll admit this does make me more combat-capable than support, especially if I pick up Quick Study instead of Infusion as a discovery. Depending on how the island goes I may rethink things though when DM lets us do our rebuild.
So I'm thinking of running emerald spire at some point not imminently but maybe December or January. Pfs characters starting at level 1 and all the way through to 12 would anyone be interested?
I have been experimenting with various map tools to try to find one I like, still have not been successful but hopefully I will find one soon, I have tried maptools and roll20 and I cant get the hang of them. My computer does not like maptools so it barely works and when it does I cannot reload the campaign so, hopefully soon I will have some better maps.

I would be very interested in playing with you guys. Unfortunatly I just started doing the 1st lvl of this dungeon already. :(
Not sure if my group will follow through the whole thing. Can the first part be replayed? Also december will be hard for me. I will take a month vacation from dec 15 to jan 15 to backpacking through europe and meet some old friends. I dont think I will have internet access at all.
Okay, I set up a roll20 campaign, let me know what you guys think, I have only done two maps (one of which was the ship to ship battle) and the other is an upcoming map but I want to see what you guys think and if it is feasible.
Holgur and Jasmine could you please update your character tags with your level 3 stuff if you haven't, that way I don't accidentally kill your character in an encounter or anything :) lol.
For ages untold, a gemstone monolith has pierced the heart of the Echo Wood. Now, as civilization intrudes upon this enigmatic splinter, a strange life once again stirs in the depths—one with ties to undying evils and a might beyond time itself. The promise of wealth and power calls to glory-seekers from across the Inner Sea region, tempting them into a labyrinth of monster-haunted vaults, defiled tombs, arcane laboratories, and worse, as they seek to unveil the secrets locked below the legendary Emerald Spire
so i have been reading through Emerald Spire again, the idea will be that it will take us from 1-13, through 14 modules (two are meant to be done on slow speed). I will only run one "table" so am only going to want 6. Again late November-early January will be the start and it will take a while to get through all of it. The characters will spend their entire PFS career in the spire is the assumption.
I have posted in two of my games for interested players.
is useful if you are thinking of Emerald Spire, I think between both threads we have 6 people who want to play, if we have more...well i will figure out how to cut

I have one tweak in my most recent character upgrade. I put a few ranks in bluff, I meant to put those ranks in intimidate. I'll fix that later, it shouldn't be an issue for now.
I will update tomorrow night, I had to take my wife to the hospital last night and got home real late and between lack of sleep and taking care of my two kids today, I can't think straight. All is well with the wife, and I will be on tomorrow night to advance the story.
