Amira Oenestria
"I....inquired into just that." Amira says, searching for the best way to put what she was about to say next. " There is some great danger associated with exploring it. Great enough that she would rather we didn't....at least, not right now." she says with a shrug. "Sorry."
Wednesday Daud
Daud's eyes drift down, at the ground rather than at Amira, at hearing the nixing on exploring. "Oh... well then once again, my apologies for disturbing you milady." Giving her a bow of his head he turns and begins to open the door before a thought strikes him. "I don't suppose your Mistress has anything she would like us to do in the interim?"
Amira Oenestria
"Look into what is going on......help anyone in need of it. The people are still in turmoil, the unrest just beneath the surface now. There's still more to be done, we only need to seek it out." Amira replies.
Wednesday Daud
"Of course." Daud says with a dry chuckle and a shrug of his shoulders. Without turning to face Amira he adds, his voice genuine, "Thank you, for your insight." before exiting her room and shutting the door behind him.
Wednesday Daud
... Daud doesn't have anything to do atm so it's up to the girls.
Wednesday Daud
Isn't it always?
uh, YAH.
Cassandra Wagner
Cassandra and Parks wake up. Cassandra does her morning exercises to stay limber and strong, then sits down and studies her spellbook.
1st Level: Grease, Mage Armor x2, Torch Bearer Stumble Gap
2nd Level: Dimension Hop x 2, Shunt, Stone Call
Once she's done that and dressed, Cassandra heads downstairs in search of...
BREAKFAST!
Wednesday Daud
After moving himself downstairs and finding the reality breaker disposing of the larder Daud can't help but chuckle as he seats himself."So how did you two meet anyway?"
Cassandra Wagner
1 person marked this as a favorite.
Cassandra pulls out a very large melon from the larder. It doesn't take long for her to find a knife to split it open and a spoon with which she can dig out the yummy pulp.
"Rooftops. I run them. Ever do that? Leap from roof to roof, ricochet off the walls, slide under lines, leap over obstacles. A lot of run. She stays up there a lot to do her whole urban avenger thing."
Wednesday Daud
Daud merely shrugs at the obvious explanation, chiding himself for not expecting that answer. "I have run along the rooftops... Once." His expression turns morose as he grabs the other half of the melon.
Amira Oenestria
Smiling to herself as Wednesday leaves, Amira focuses on what spells she might actually need throughout the day, preparing her mind. Dressing, she checks all of her weapons and gear before heading to join the others.

Tolenn
Tolenn descends in the morning to find Daud and Cassandra talking, "I have a matter to attend to at the Temple, I won't be long."
No too long after she returns, in possession of a much newer scimitar, etched with many symbols and depitction of the Dawnflower.
DM Crispy
Tayce looks at Terri hopefully as the priestess examines the young girl, but Terri is dumb-founded. While all of these things individually would point to a certain malady and treatment, the combination of them is beyond her ken.
Terri Riverrun
"I-- I'm sorry, Tacye," she says, her voice soft and wavering, "I don't know what's wrong. I have a spell that can cure almost any sickness, but I can only use it once, and it may not be an illness, for all I know she got some weird poison on her. I could see if we could get a healer of greater skill here, if you want, but... I don't know what to do."
Terri's eyes fill with tears, she wasn't all that incompetent of a healer herself, but she didn't have the skills to handle this.

Don't forget the 250 that Daud gave ya.
Waving a farewell to Tolenn as he and Cassandra battle over the melon he finds himself waving hello to her soon enough as the battle for bread now takes place. "Nice sword, better keep her away from my stuff though, bad influence." he chuckles inbetween mouthfuls of bread.| DM Crispy |
She shakes her head, tears flinging off her nose as her expression sets fiercely. "No! It's just something different, is all. I'll send the boys to the Bank of Abadar to get a healer. Maybe they have someone who can help!" She leans her head on Terri's shoulder, closing her eyes. "Thanks for coming to help...we've relied alot on you recently, what with Grau and all."
The older woman sits there for a minute, then nods. "I'll find Grau, too. Ask him for help, now that's he's cleaned up. Maybe he knows a back alley witch who can help. I'm desperate at this point!" She turns to look at Terri, "Would you mind if I left you here for a few minutes while I track down Grau? The other ladies will be here, also."
Terri Riverrun
"Tayce, friends help each other. It's not a problem. I was about to ask if you minded me sleeping wherever there's room. I'd feel better if I can stay and keep an eye on Brienna." The priestess lets out a watery chuckle, "besides, I figure I owe a lot of people a heck of a lot more than you owe me. If I can help out and pay a little of it back, I don't mind a little discomfort."
DM Crispy
"That durned fool. Aiming to help, he is, but he told me to not depend on the Abadarians, to trust in him and his connections. Well, I believe in Grau, but I also know when to hedge, too. The boys contacted the Bank, and a gentleman will be coming by early in the morning. It can't spread that much between now and then, right?"
The concerned mother brings out some blankets for Terri, making her a pallet on the living room floor. "I wish I could do better for you, but this is the best I can do." She smiles and shrugs helplessly. "If you're hungry or thirsty, what's mine, little that it is, is yours. I'm going to put the children to bed." Tayce puts the smaller boys to bed first, checking on her daughter before falling into a fitful sleep at her bedside, asleep in a chair next to the bed.

Tolenn smiles, "I commissioned this from the Temple armorer when I'd arrived back in Korvosa. Just recently had enough for him to finish. The last I had was a spare from the Temple armory, this one is mine." she says proudly.
Terri Riverrun
[spoiler=GM]"Thank you," Terri says to her hostess, unsure of how useful the Abardarians would be. They weren't bead people, but they didn't do things out of charity. There'd be a price for their aid, and Terri didn't know if Tayce could pay it.
"Tayce, if you need help with anything, you know you can ask me, right? I'll help pay the Abadarians. It's the least I can do since I wasn't much help figuring out what was wrong with Brienna."
Terri Riverrun
"Helle, can I help you?"
Cassandra Wagner
"Neat blade." Cassandra agrees. "Is it magic?"
She doesn't wait for an answer. Instead, she speaks a few soft, arcane words and holds her fingers up to her eyes, tapping the closed lids once.
Casting Detect Magic! Share your magic with me!
Wednesday Daud
"Magic or not it is very nice, I hope it keeps you safe." Daud say sincerely before using Cassandra's distraction to eat the rest of the bread.
Tolenn
Tolenn smiles but shakes her head, "Not magic, merely excellently made...to my specifications." she says, holding the blade lightly in her hand, "A well made weapon can mean the difference between life and death."
Wednesday Daud
"Well I'm a dead man." He only half-jokingly muses as he thinks over his armaments, two weapons of murderers and a pieced together piece of slag.
Amira Oenestria
"It really is a beautifully made weapon." Amira adds.
Next morning
Having awakened first, Amira goes to the door, answering the knock.
Wednesday Daud
... forgot about the knock... wait, is she skyclad again?
Amira Oenestria
No she got dressed this time, she's comfortable with you guys but there could be kids at the door, lol
Wednesday Daud
The battle for food having ended Daud catches his foot on one of the table's legs in order to lean back in his chair to see who Amira is greeting at the door.
Terri Riverrun
Terri closes the door behind the Abadarian after he walks in. She then hurries up the stairs to fetch Tayce.
DM Crispy
As Amira opens the door, a city guardsman is revealed. More specifically, a Watch Sergeant, resplendent in polished chain mail. He looks worried, but determined. "Ummmm...I was looking for some people, ma'am. One looks like..." His voice trails off as he sees Wednesday. "Him. Then there's a demon-looking guy, a holy warrior woman, and a guy who's nerve seem a bit taut." He looks down at the floor, then looks Amira in the eye. "May I come in?"
It takes you quite some time, but you realize that adding a couple of pounds, a lack of grooming, and a stink of alcohol would make this guy a fair match for the drunk guard you met on the streets during the riots.
The Abadarian nods amiably, going ahead and pulling bottle and bags of herbs out in the kitchen as the priestess runs up to grab Tayce. As Terri shakes her awake, she eyes Brienna in her bed. The girl doesn't look much worse off, but the rash on her face has definitely spread, a blister distending the flesh on her left cheek.
The worried mother quickly wakes up and makes herself presentable, walking down to meet the priest with hollow eyes. One quick glance at the woman is enough to tell she had a very hard time sleeping last night. Nevertheless, she greets the priest, who introduces himself to Tayce. He asks to see the child, and all three of you go upstairs.
When he sees her, his brow furrows, his eyes narrowing in thought. He goes to feel the girl's forehead, asking over his shoulder, "When did this start?"
Wednesday Daud
Seeing it's a guard Daud immediately loses any curiosity he had and sits the chair back on all four of its legs. "What's Croft want now?" he asks, more like growls, the agitation in his voice clear.
Wednesday Daud
Tolenn
"Manners, Wednesday." Tolenn murmurs, having walked over behind Daud, placing a hand on his shoulder, "Come in and we welcome, Guardsman. Tell us of your plight."
Cassandra Wagner
Terri Riverrun
"I don't know what it is, or even if it's natural."
After answering all of Ishani's question, she heads back down stairs and prepares for the day ahead, praying to Shelyn for peace and guidance, and most of all, a way to save a young girl and keep a friend's heart from breaking.
DM Crispy
"Well, I don't know anything about sickness. But seeing as you guys helped me out, helped me kick the drink and get back on the straight and narrow, and seeing as you've helped the Guard out a couple of times, I figured you were resourceful folk, and might could help!" He looks to you hopefully, a far cry removed from the drunken sot who had mistaken Wednesday for one of his friends a week or so ago.
Tayce nods at Terri's pronouncement, that hopeful look on her face. Ishani only frowns, the crease on his face growing deeper as Terri adds her input. "Let us see if I can ease the symptoms."
He descends the steps, commandeering a couple of small pots and setting to work getting water boiling, crushing some herbs into one pot, sprinkling some powder in the other.
When he deems them ready, he mixes the two, then pours a small cup, bringing it back up to the room, gently urging the girl to drink. She complies listlessly, alert but sluggish. Coughing roughly between swallows, congestion rattling in her. The Priest goes back downstairs, mixing some other powders as he waits for the results of his drink.
He turns to Terri, "That should ease her coughing and allow us to more easily treat the rest of her."
Wednesday Daud
At Tolenn's admonishment and the man's plea Daud seems to somber some more. Scratching his head as to what kind of sickness or disease caused the man to seek them out he merely shrugs before turning to look at the paladin.

The priest pauses for a moment, then answers hesitantly. "A rash such as she has could have many things causing it. A fungus, a mold, an untreated insect infestation. The cough seems indicative of a cold or breathing sickness of some sort. The headaches could be caused by a multitude of things. The fatigue is associated with many illnesses that sap the body's strength. The blisters are troubling, indicating an advanced form of skin disease, maybe."
He takes a deep breath and blows it out in a rush, turning his eyes to the young woman. "I'm hoping to cure one or two of these things and perhaps hone in on the real danger to this young girl, because right now, in my vast experience with disease, I don't believe I've seen anything quite like this."
He smiles kindly, thinking for a moment. "Perhaps you could make sure the girl drinks plenty of water? I know it seems simple, but many sicknesses kill by leeching the body of its fluids."
Tolenn
Tolenn listens to the guardsman's tale, then looks down at her hands, the back up to the man's worried eyes "The Dawnflower has rewarded my devotion with some healing ability...I worry it may not be enough though." she looks skyward for a moment befor continuing "Nonetheless, I am at your disposal.
