Sorry, could not resist...
lol. this is going to go well.
and thanks Ajkanir, for handling the treasure so well.

Hey I've totally got a plan! Wing it is a kind of plan, right? ;)

Yeah, no worries Razan. You'll keep things interesting.

Some questions about the cave Khol and I just entered:
How big are the stone giant twins (big enough to have thrown that rock)? Are they awake?
Does the cave continue on from where the twins are, or have we reached the end?
added further descriptions to the gameplay thread.
keep in mind that Khol and Ajkanir can't actually see or hear each other at this point. which is kind of hilarious and potentially disastrous.
*evil DM laugh*

Yeah, I had that thought too - though we really should be able to hear each other if we really want to, since we set the silence stone down outside. Which means we should start making stealth rolls, right? And I had planned to say I put a hand on Khol's shoulder as we walked, so we wouldn't get separated, but your post went up first - don't know if you'll allow that to have happened or not.
And sorry not to spoiler my question - gave a bit away to our friends waiting outside.
no thats fine, we'll say Ajkanir has his hand on Khol's shoulder.
And I'm making stealth rolls for you where applicable, no worries.
+20 and all that.

Well, I don't remember Natasha starting to shout at the giant as part of the plan, but it'll be interesting to see what happens...
If it matters, the Coin of Silence is 30' or so from the cave mouth (on the path on the side away from the drop-off, let's say), so anyone in the cave mouth will not be subject to it.

I figured it couldn't hurt to distract the giant and give you guys an edge. ^^; My only other options were just to sit still and twiddle my thumbs, or start launching fiery doom.

It was a surprise, but a good one. Fine improvisation, and preferable to fiery death, from the perspective of a guy who's in the cave.
also, excellent characterization. Natasha does not come across as the patient type.

Typing one-handed now? Bummer, hope it's not too bad.
I was ready to post that we were getting out of there, but wanted to wait to give Khol a chance to do something in the cave.

Nah, go ahead and do that. My usual regiment of posting is going to be a bit difficult tonight.
Yowch, good luck with the recovery Khol.

Posted, hope you're better soon.
yeah seriously, hope you bounce back quick.
And to the group: that was very well handled. I basically came up with that encounter just to see how the party would handle it, and you guys came through with an interesting solution that didn't involve you murdering anyone. bravo. you will get full XP for the stone giant.
An XP total for everything so far will be forthcoming soon.

@DM - Thanks for saying so - for Ajkanir's part in it, I had to think on it a bit when we had the drop on the giant, but I couldn't see any motivation for Ajkanir to attack. And as a Lore Warden and monk, he's supposed to be a warrior and a scholar, so it felt right to just learn from the situation and leave them be.
And we came up with a good model for recon for our group! Invis and silence, with the back-up team ready to bail the sneaks out - I expect we'll use that again.
just a reminder Ajkanir, the dead Jann was in reference to the ghuls that you fought back the camp, as Natasha explained.

DM Corvus wrote: just a reminder Ajkanir, the dead Jann was in reference to the ghuls that you fought back the camp, as Natasha explained. Yeah, as I wrote that, I had a thought in the back of my mind that I was getting it a bit mixed up. Thanks for the reminder.

Heal well, Khol. I know how bad those deep cuts to the finger can hurt, I really do. o_o
DM Corvus: Glad you liked our solution. ^^ I was very happy that we didn't go in with spells blazing and blades flashing, too...
fun fact:
I'm starting this campaign IRL tonight. I'll be curious to see what goes differently, and will provide a run down should it prove sufficiently amusing or weird.
Oooh, that will be interesting. I'm sure they'll outpace us, but it will be great to hear a little about how they handle some things differently up until they catch up if you get a chance to share.
Thanks for the nice words on our solution. I definitely built Zahur to be that type of character - a very atypical inquisitor perhaps. Its funny to see him with someone like Razan.
Now, that particular approach to recon does burn all of my daily 2nd level spells right now. I don't mind, but we can't go doing it left and right.
Female Human Wizard 5; Init. +1; Senses Perception +2; AC 13 (+1 Armor, +1 Dex., +1 natural); hp 28; Fort +3, Ref +4, Will +4
Don't worry, Zahur. We've got your back. *macho fist bump*

Well, we can use that recon approach when we're up against something big, at least. It's good to know we have the option.
It will be interesting to hear how our approach compares to another group doing the same campaign.

Agreed, though likely depressing to see just how quickly a real time group overtakes us. PBP is convenient, but it sure is not fast!
Female Human Wizard 5; Init. +1; Senses Perception +2; AC 13 (+1 Armor, +1 Dex., +1 natural); hp 28; Fort +3, Ref +4, Will +4
For someone who loves to play, but whose workschedule made it impossible to attend Friday night sessions, pbp is more than convenient.
It's one of the things that keep me from going crazier. ):-(
Strangely, they made it to the exact same spot those group is currently at. They didn't wait to investigate the town or leave their mounts for me to murder.
They've yet to meet the ghuls edit and elum who will most likely be attacking the while they camp by the two statues.
They did not handle the giant well. They just walked as a group toward the front door. Then the rocks started coming and they more or less just bailed after learning about the woman in blue silks.
Anyway, game update coming tomorrow!
Hah, yes, RL games go so much quicker. I love the PbPs too though. While slow, they have a lot of other advantages. I'm glad we faced the ghuls where we did. Not so glad our mounts were murdered :(
If this were an action movie, Khol's comment would trigger the statues coming to life.
Pity.

The dig site has a bit of a Raiders of the Lost Ark feel, all the way down to the red and black flag. Funfun.

Oh, shoot! I didn't even properly register that flag. ^^;
Isn't the Chelish flag black and red? The Chelish one... and many of its (former) colonies?
Point of info before we go further. While slavery is frowned upon by many in Golarion, it is legal throughout most of Garund. Including Thuvia and especially osirion.

Lol yeah, I figure since he can confer mentally with Elreem the eidolon frequently serves as conscience/common sense... Some characters just take a 7 wisdom for optimization purposes, Razan has a 7 wisdom...
Well you legitimately had me laughing at that one. Kohl's reaction too.

Figured it was worth a shot :)
