Sorry for the slow posting this combat. Things have gotten rather hectic at home. I'll update the map with positions (and other rooms) first thing in the morning, as well as update things with a summery of the combat round.


Round 2
Carilain:
The elf throws his dagger at the nimble huntress missing her by a hair’s breth.
Kyra:
The nimble woman rushes the mongrelwoman, cutting her deeply with her scimitar. 12 Damage
WENDUAG:
She rolls backward from the oncoming blows and drops down into the hole, ignoring the rope ladder that could aid the decent.
Alesie:
Hesitates unwilling to follow her at this time.
Ilse:
The target of her rage suddenly gone is unsure of what to do next.
Kelden:
Steps up and unleashes a torrent of fire, calling upon the flames of the sun.
Thetin
Moves near the hole ready to lead the charge downward if needed.

Everything seems to come to a standstill as you quickly decide weather to follower her or not. Round 3 to follow shortly as you jump down after her.

The young woman runs over to the hole and drops down into the unknown depths, following the burning arc of flames down the hole. Mongrelman 1
The mongerlman settles himself against a barricade ready to fire at the next adventurer foolish to come down.Readied attack: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (14) + 3 = 17Damage: 1d8 ⇒ 5

Mongrelman 2
The other take up a position just by the pool of water his club more than ready to fend off anyone trying to get past the barricades.

Kelden:
Hangs back wary of a trap unsure of if he should help Alesie or maintain the highground. Delayed

Mongrelman 1Fires at Thetin as he drops down into the room, only to see his arrow ricochet off the paladin's shield.

Thetin:
Takes a leap below to shield the fallen elf from further attacks. Acrobatics DC 15: 1d20 - 4 - 2 ⇒ (14) - 4 - 2 = 8 He lands hard his armor weighing him down. Non-Lethal Falling Damage: 1d6 ⇒ 4 and steps past the unconscious woman. Taking up a solid defensive position.

Kyra Ends Delay following the rush of people pressing onward she joins the fray below! She twists her ankle as she lands hard Non-Lethal Falling Damage: 1d6 ⇒ 5 but maintains her footing.

Cultist B and Cultist D With the chaos unfolding below the chamber the sound of another door slamming open is nearly lost in the confusion. The two women dress like crusaders enter in behind you. One wields a glaive the other carries a scythe. One slowly closes the wooden screen leading to the survivors, effectively cutting off your escape!

A very busy round again apologies for taking so long to get things sorted out for it.

Kyra winces as she jars her ankle; however, she spots Alesie laying on the ground with an arrow jutting from her chest. "Alesie!" She screams and leaps over her fallen comrade, behind Thetin. "Thetin, cover me!"

The dervish kneels down next to Alesie, grips the arrow shaft with one hand and yanks it out! She immediately places both her hands over the wound and sings softly as a blue glow transfers from her hands into Alesie's wound. "Sister sun hear my plea, don't take dear Alesie away from me." Arteries and muscle tissue knit themselves back together as the healing magic works its wonder.

Kyra lets out a short, gleeful cry as she sees her friend's eyes flutter open. She quickly removes one of her healing potions and places it into Alesie's hand. "Drink this, quickly!"

Cure Light Wounds: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5

So, 5' step into the square to the "west" of Alesie. Casting Cure Light Wounds on Alesie. And Move action to remove the Potion of Cure Light Wounds from her belt pouch.

No worries, Striker. And yes, I know, those lyrics are not very good. I'm a cop, not a songwriter lol! That healing should put Alesie at 0 HP, I believe. Drink that Pot of CLW, you crazy elven girl!

If you channel while standing in the space above the hole yes. Its a 15 foot drop to the floor.

Would it be possible instead of delaying to try and use a channel to reach my wounded friends below? If it is channel: 1d6 ⇒ 4instead of delaying I think he would have channeled, if not i can wait til my initiative again.

He called, concerned that they were fighting on two fronts now and that he couldnt keep an eye on both.

Ilse backs up against the wall beside the doorway with her hammer readied as she prepares to exit the room. She gives a wild smile and a wink to Caralain. She breathes deeply and runs through into the next room ready to meet the closest foe.

I imagine I haven't recovered from my Rage at the mongrelwoman yet. I'm not entirely sure how that works.

The description says it is 20 high. Is it also 20' deep too? I'd like to mist the lower level as well. If not that have 10' above and 10' below.

Alesie feels the arrow as it pierces her chest, and feels the darkness taking her. Again? you were right, this is totally going to get you killed.

Barely a moment seems to pass for Alesie before her eyes open with a start, the powerful healing magic bringing her back to consciousness. I'm awake? Oh this can't be good. That feels way to good for it to be natural. Looking around she sees Kyra bent over her blue energy swirling around her hands. Yep that was bad.

Feeling the potion in her hand, Alesie lifts the potion to her mouth, feeling the soothing liquid continue to heal her body. "Okay, not doing that again." She chuckles to herself, as she slowly gets back to her feet, careful to keep Thetin between her and the mongrelmen. She nods over to Kyra, tears in her eyes. "Thank you. I don't know if I'll ever be able to repay you enough."

CLW potion: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6

Standard Action - Drink potion. Move Action - Stand from prone


Ilse

Calling upn the strength and power of his goddess, Kelden sends a flash of pulsating light our from his upraised holy symbol. Dispite the depth it feels as though the suns rays shine down on you. channel: 1d6 ⇒ 4

Carilain:
arilain shouts the Draconic words of power, and raises his free hand high; making the strange gestures that conjure a dark mist into being. The Billowing mist quicky fills the room and those below see it start drifting down the hole. I'll let it get there but it'll take a round. Thats a lot of mist for a little hole.

WENDUAG
"Your goddesses's light can't reach you down here! You'll die alone it in the dark!" She fires at Kelden, aiming through the large hole he straddles. Longbow: 1d20 + 8 + 2 + 1 - 4 ⇒ (14) + 8 + 2 + 1 - 4 = 21 Damage: 1d8 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 2 + 1 = 6 I'll let you imaginge where that arrow must have landed.

Mongrelman 2
This mongrel looks longingly over his shoulder to the door behind the barricades, and then quickly back to you. He steps a little closer closing the gap and defending the archer.

Mongrelman 1
Seeing the heavily armored figure standing so openly the cruel beast-man continues to fire at him, trying to find a weak spot. 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (16) + 3 = 19 Damage: 1d8 ⇒ 5 His bolt hits the gap in the shoulder!

Thetin: Delayed
Thetin holds fast defending the women behind him from the arrows and bolts.

Kyra

Turnign from the door, she swings her glaive at the hammer wielding barbarian for little effect. 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (3) + 5 = 8 Damage: 1d10 + 3 ⇒ (9) + 3 = 12

Cultist D
Expertly swinging her scythe at the barbarian the cultist's weapons seem to tangle each other preventing them from doing real harm to the woman. Attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (7) + 5 = 12 Damage: 2d4 + 3 ⇒ (2, 3) + 3 = 8

Don't forget to add Kelden's healing to your HP Thetin and Alesie! I believe it was another 4 HP worth of healing. Also... dang it! I forgot to add my extra fire damage on that crit to Wenduag, next time...

With Alesie back on her feet, Kyra takes a moment to quickly examine their battleground... She feels the warmth of Sarenrae's healing wash over her, soothing the irritating pain in her ankle. She hears Carilain's voice... She sees Wenduag's arrow strike Kelden just as a thick mist begins to pour down through the opening...

The dervish closes her eyes, her body suddenly begins to sway rhythmically and she hums a wordless tune as she gives herself over to the dance... After a moment she dances forward to stand next to Thetin, preparing herself to take the fight to the mongrels.

Activating Battle Dance as a Move action, then moving forward along the "south" side to stand next to Thetin. He will still provide Cover against any ranged attacks from the mongrels.

Alesie looks around, feeling rejuvenated after the potion. Oh goddess we're stuck. Okay, you got everyone into this, you can do this, find a way to survive this... Sorry Kelden, you get no appreciation as I was still unconscious for your healing :(

She pulls out her rapier and her morningstar, and thrusts the morningstar out in front of her. "Thetin this will be far more useful to you then me. It was given to us by Chieftan Sull with the promise we "split at least one traitor's skull with it. I would hate to renege on a promise."

Looking over at Thetin and Kyra as she startes to dance Alesie can see the preparation to bring the fight into melee. "Okay Ready. looks like we're trapped for the moment. I think I'm done with being shot by arrows, how about lets bring this in closer?"

Move Action - Draw Rapier. Standard Action - Draw Morningstar (Thetin should be able to take it as a free action as part of his move by my thinking, drawing the weapon from my hand, if he wants it of course).

Round 4Carilain heads to where he can hear the sounds of fighting. He finds the pair of cultists, and Ilse at the edge of his mist cloud.
Infusing some of his magic into the weapon, the elf immediately attacks the nearest with his hammer.

Female Human Barbarian level 1

Ilse sees Carilain attacking the cultist and immediately goes in to tie up the other.

If I cannot hit these nimble cultists at least I can keep one preoccupied while my friend is engaged with the other.

Feeling the effects of the fight already, she takes a deep breath and musters her energy for an attack. She steps towards the unengaged cultist and takes a swing.

Earth Breaker: 1d20 + 4 - 1 ⇒ (18) + 4 - 1 = 21 damage: 2d6 + 4 - 1 ⇒ (1, 3) + 4 - 1 = 7


Thetin:

Kelden hobbles through the thick mist the better to aid either group of combatants.

Carilain:
The elf's hammer, even guided by magic fails to land a blow.

WENDUAG

Kyra

The dervish begins her deadly dance as she weaves through the thick fog. To stand next to the paladin, swaying to a rhythm only she can hear.

Alesie
The young woman offers the magical weapon to the Paladin, while she readies her own slender blade for the attack.

Cultist B
Unable to get away from the woman and her earth breaker she steps to the side and swings at the elf beyond her. Glaive: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (2) + 5 = 7 Damage: 1d10 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8

Cultist D
Suddenly assaulted by the two strange warriors, she steps aside trying to set up to flank the attackers. Swinging her scythe at the angry looking woman. Scythe: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (15) + 5 = 20 damage: 2d4 + 3 ⇒ (3, 3) + 3 = 9 9 Damage

The cleric continued forward almost flanking the cultist flanking the barbarian woman, he could see the gash on the large warrior woman, he would have to tend to that in a moment, with a grim hard smile he brought his scimitar in an upward flourish the curved blade swept up and into the side of the cultist cutting deeply.

Female Human Barbarian level 1

On her initiative

Wincing in pain at the gash inflicted on her, Ilse remains calm under pressure. She decides it's tactically more viable to continue attacking her original target.

My husband took the main rulebook to work today so I'm kinda flying blind here. I'm assuming that because my hit is greater than the AC of the cultist then it causes damage. Sorry for all the clunkiness guys.

Ilse watches the hammer as it finds its target and crushes the cultist's shoulder joint beneath its weight. She forgets about the pain for a split second as she revels in the battle.

Thetin drops his hammer and grabs the mace from Alesie. "It sure would be a shame to break that promise."

Thetin then steps forward, breaking through the fog around him, and swings over the top of the barrier at the mongrelman right in front of him while holding a defensive stance.

The mongrelman ducks under the powerful but poorly aimed swing.

Ilse Kelden and I are in a separate fight, so I,m going to go with my next round.

With the barbarian woman and cleric fighting with the glaive wielding cultist, Carilain tried to bring the other one down and end this fight.

Partially blocked by the cultist's weapon, Carilain's hammer glances off her armor, causing her no harm.

Going to go ahead and post since I don't know if I'll be able to get one in tomorrow. If the mongrelman moves into a different square before Kyra goes, then please adjust her position as needed.

Kyra's movements as she twirls forward toward her enemy display a terrible beauty in their deadly grace. She moves her body in such a lithe manner to deny her enemy any opening as she closes the distance, now on the offensive. She and her blade seem a whirlwind of death as she bursts forth from the mists! The dervish's scimitar sweeps over the top of Thetin's head as she brings it down in a vicious arc, cutting deep into the torso of the mongrelman guard!

Damage: 1d6 + 6 ⇒ (6) + 6 = 12

Sneaking into a good position, she launches herself at the closest mongrelman with her rapier, burying the thin sword deeply into his side.

The battle damage is too much for her, and she finds it difficult to make her hammer find its target. All she can hear is the sound of her weapon moving through the air, and not the satisfying thud of iron meeting flesh.

With the negative energy bursting from the cultist the young cleric made a quick decision, He knew Ilse was hurt the cultist had wounded her previously and he had a bit of faith that his sister in faith and the paladin would be able to handle the mongrels below for perhaps just a bit longer.

To stay or go, thy could surely handle the cultist though he wanted to send the heritical soul straight to the evil place it worshiped. He moved for the hole. Once more he found himself in the first room, He moved to the corner and once more called on the glorious light of Sarenrae to bask his allies in her healing warm caress.
