Pollux ruses forward spear raised high, and immediately ends the life of the woman threatening Tess, encouraging the girl to come aid Ce-Eshna.

Jokum:
The enraged man leaves the fight with the archer in the capable hands of the dwarf and rushes out of the room after the remaining cultist. She strikes out at him as he closes her glaive still wet with Ce-Eshna’s blood. AoO: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (4) + 5 = 9 Jokum easily ducks under her strike as he swings hard at her, but he misses as well.

Cultist B
She leaps back from Jokum's attack and returns his swing with another of her own. Glaive (defensively): 1d20 + 5 - 4 ⇒ (4) + 5 - 4 = 5 doing no better with this strike, but her stance shifts to a more defensive one, as her companion has fallen.

Wenduag:
The mongrelwoman gives a dark grin at the dwarf Longbow: 1d20 + 8 + 1 ⇒ (14) + 8 + 1 = 23 Damage: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4 as soon as the arrow flies from the bow she turns an hops down the hole in the floor, ignoring the tattered rope ladder hanging from the ceiling behind her. I don't think Karthak would be so foolish to abandon his companions in their time of need, although I suspect he just wasted judgment and true strike... XD

The dwarf spits as the mongrelman turns tail and disappears in the chamber below. His first instinct would be to follow but the clash of steel on steel reminds him there's battle upstairs too, so he turns and joins the others, shouting at Xavian before going:"Make sure that bastard doesn't come back from the bolt-hole!

Jokum carefully moves up to the prone woman and sweeps his greatsword down, attempting to flick her glaive away from her.

I'll go with my alternate action since that person disappeared and Xaivan is not the type to chase down enemies into unknown places. So I move into the other room and miss the thug to the north.


Pollux:
Pollux's words carry more than the mere weight of mortal power, Will DC 13: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (13) + 5 = 18 but she resists his command.

Jokum:
Snarling he moves again to the woman swinging his blade, only to miss her.

Cultist B
Unwilling or unable to give up more ground the woman changes the direction of her movement, suddenly changing her target and swing at Tess! Glaive: 1d20 + 5 - 2 - 4 ⇒ (13) + 5 - 2 - 4 = 12 Damage: 1d10 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6

Karthak:
Gives up on the nimble archer for now and moves to aid his other companions.

Tesseract:
Tess cries out in pain and stumbles back from the woman. Again the magic raises in her and the look she gives the woman sends chills down the cultist's spine. Will DC 14 (-2 AC): 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (20) + 5 = 25

I think Tess moved AFTER the cultist, so it still works. Maybe? Ce-Eshna only looks 10' away.

Jokum circles around Karthak to a flanking position with Pollux, and swings at the cultist, enraged, as she charges at Tess. "Come on, demon witch! Fight me! Why do you prey on children?!"

AoO: 1d20 + 4 + 2 ⇒ (20) + 4 + 2 = 26 AT LAST.
Damage: 2d6 + 4 ⇒ (4, 4) + 4 = 12
Confirm?: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (16) + 4 = 20

...and probably cuts the cultist in half. I am willing to take the AoO she'll get if she has Combat Reflexes.

In that case I mean to move into the square adjacent Ce-Eshna, where Tess moved from. was going off of the old map when I wrote out my move action for this round.


Pollux's swift blow leaves the woman staggered, as Jokum sweeps aside her glaive and runs her through the chest with his blade. She lets out a surprised gasp, her mouth filling with blood, as death takes her.

Tess moved after she was struck so is now 15 feet away rather than the 10 she was on the Cultist's turn. You've put both cultists down. Still in initiatives. I'll turn Tess over to you guys for now. We're at Karthak's turn. Don't forget the ranger is still moving around down below.

As long as someone is leading, Xaivan will follow them down to find the wounded enemy. Would I be able to see anything down this hole before I go inside?


From the side you can catch a glimpse of another room this one is unlit you also spot what appears to be something wet and reflective in the southern side of the chamber.

I think the problem with going down is we know we'll be ambushed as soon as we set foot on the ground. That said, I see no obvious solutions so I'm going to have Karthak climb down on the rope in the hopes to stir things up

Karthak considers his options briefly, knowing full well the enemy is waiting for them in the room below. Common sense would suggest a more prudent course of action yet waiting longer could very well mean allerting the whole nest to the group presence, so the dwarf stoically raises his shield and clenches his theeth climbing down the rope ladder:"Onward! Follow me, let us cleanse this filth once and for all!"

Karthak climbs down the rope ladder, changing his judgment from destruction to protection (+1 sacred bonus to AC), I suppose he can't go down there fighting defensively (if possible he will), AC should be 20 and hp should be 6 unless someone can heal him

Xaivan will quickly follow the dwarf, hoping to use him as a shield. He'll stow his bow and have his rapier ready instead. I will also attempt to use Total Defense or the like if possible.


As a reminder you loose your dexterity bonus (if any), need to use both hands, and can't use a shield while climbing. Would you rather just make the jump down? DC 15 acrobatics or take 1d6 Non-Lethal damage.

Yes you do, as the acrobatics is part of your movement, as a side not you only fall prone when you take lethal damage from falling, so as long as it is intentional and less than 20 feet your golden :)

Jokum spares a glance at Pollux and the girls--can he be trusted with them?--but then, seeing Karthak go haring off after the others, lets out a groan. "Dwarf! WAIT!"

But...too late. Karthak is already down there. Jokum sets off after him as fast as he can. "We'll need some backup!" he calls to Pollux, Ce-Eshna, and Tess, before jumping down the hole himself.

Landing lightly on his feet, with his sword drawn, Jokum snarls at the mongrels. "Put. Down. Your. Weapons," he grits.

Jokum moves quickly dropping down into the hole, his words shaking the mongerlmen to their core.You can only do it to 1 of them until you get dazzling display.

Injured Mongelman
The injured mongrelman staggers back up against the wall, clutching the crossbow he quickly reloads it and desperately fires again. Crossbow: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7 His haste causes him to fire before it is ready and sends the bolt bouncing off the floor of the cavern.

Hosilla
Within the larger room, the unknown woman takes the time to cast a spell. Causing her glaive to shimmer with the enchantment.

Uziel
The tiefling man, moves up to support the fierce looking crusader. With a flick of his wrist a thick magical darkness engulfs the chamber.

Mongrelmen (3):

I could use some healing. We have 4 mongrelmen footsoldiers (one wounded) and 3 enemy NPCs to deal with, one of which is a spellcaster of some type. We are outnumbered and possibly outgunned. I'll try to tank but I'm unlikely to survive if I do not receive any kind of heal...

Agreed that the situation is bad, though not sure I have a solution unless these guys happen to turn out to be good. We could maybe retreat up the ladder and have someone pull the last one (probably me) up? Guessing the wounded one is dead, not that it will affect Jokum's actions...who's the "crusader" the tiefling is supporting? The glaive woman?

Jokum grunts in pain as the arrow catches him in the shoulder. Glancing down at it, he assesses the situation rapidly, then snaps it off so the shaft isn't in his way. Not barbed. I can draw it out backwards. As Xaivan's arrow catches the remaining mongrel, Jokum advances on the woman who shot him. "You think I'm scared of the dark, woman? Fly back to your demon masters!"

5'-shift, then attack. Hooray for darkvision!

The dwarf raises his axe and slashes down on the weakened opponent, outraged fury clear as day on his visage. The weapon encounters some resistance but suddenly the creature's armor gives way and it buries deep in its neck!

[ooc]Trying to go back up would be a mistake. Its a 20ft climb (judging by the d6 for falling damage) and it would be a move action to get to the rope and then another move to climb 15ft of it. Then you're a sitting duck until your next round where you can clear the last 5ft. I think the best thing to do will be to clear the Mongrelman out from near Jokum and see if you can close and lock that door to buy Karthak a round to CLW himself. I'll buff you best I can but I'm pretty much out of melee until darkness is gone. Ce-Eshna should be able to proved ranged support when she shows up next turn as she has darkvision too.


Its a 15 foot climb.
