Just wanted to reassure the new players in particular not to worry. Camris and I have been playing here on Paizo's boards for years. He'll be back. :)

Dunno if this game is actually happening, but just in case:

I'm off to GenCon, where I'm a Tier 1 PFS GM. That means I'll be GMing 8 tables over the course of the weekend... which is a lot. Tomorrow is drive day. After GenCon, I'm gonna drive a whole lot so that I can see the total eclipse, and then get home in time to make a faculty workshop on Tuesday morning. (Yes, I'm a bit insane.)

I will not be able to post again until the middle of next week.

Sorry, guys, I've been slowly picking up my games after GenCon and the eclipse. (It's also been the start of the fall term, which always throws a bit of a wrench in the works.) This is the penultimate one I have to suck back into my mental space, though.

By the way -- the total solar eclipse was amazing. If you ever get a chance to see one, take it. It's a completely different experience from a partial eclipse. For two minutes, the world just changed, and something otherworldly was hanging in the sky.

I was just north of the path of totality, in the 99.6% or so. It was WIERD seeing twilight fall and the cars turing on the headlights...
But most of all the bizarre light patterns the light of the crescent sun made as it shone through the tree foliage...

Yeah, there's a lot of fun stuff that goes on. Twilight with the sun directly overhead and nice sharp noon-like shadows.....

But that last 0.04% to totality is a whole new experience. Next change you get, look for it!

Sounds awesome. I only had 75% here in New York. Basically, it was only enough to make it a bad idea to look up at the sun. I did see the sky slightly darken for a few minutes, and it was a bit weird. But probably nothing like what you guys got to experience.

I'll hopefully be able to next time.
