This is probably not what you're going through, Thurden. But this vaguely reminds me of the time a video card's fan went out on a desktop computer I'd built a while ago. I had at least 3 other fans in the case, so I didn't notice it had stopped spinning until the computer started crapping out when the video adapter got intensive usage. I replaced the video adapter... only to find the mobo got a bit fried, too.
I was super paranoid about keeping an eye on my fans for a long time after that. I had to practically rebuild the computer with a new mobo, CPU and video adapter (only the drives, case and PSU remained from the old build), and had spent several hours in multiple testing & repair sessions, all because a $5 fan died and I didn't notice it in time.
Stay safe, everyone.

At this point I'm assuming the issue is with the PSU or the case. That or I have the absolute worst luck on getting fried parts multiple times. I'm waiting on my next paycheck to sink more money into this project, though.

Oh noes!

All the very bestest Thurden!

Whaaaaat? Jus' sayin'...

Great! Yeah, a faulty PSU can certainly wreak havoc on all your parts. I always use a PSU tester and test every connector type before beginning any new PC building work. I actually test it continuously for at least 10 minutes, just to make sure there isn't a faulty capacitor or something else that's going to work fine for maybe 5 minutes before melting down due to faulty manufacturing and shooting electric death into my other hardware.

Reijo Ilvonen |

I actually use a special tool like one of these (more).
A voltimeter could do the job too, if you're comfortable using one. PSU testers are a lot simpler to use, though, and cheap. You just connect one of each type of connector from the PSU to the tester, plug the PSU in to power, make sure the PSU is turned on, and either it'll just run or some units have a button you would press and hold down. The ones I've used have buttons, so I usually sit there for 10 minutes holding the button to make sure.
As you can see from the photos in the links, they usually have a LCD display and show actual tested voltages for each type. If you see a slight difference in the numbers from what they're supposed to be (i.e. 11.9 or 11.6 instead of 12V), that's perfectly normal. If there's something wrong, the tester usually beeps an alarm and something might flash on the screen. If it beeps briefly when you start and/or stop testing, that's normal; I mean it'll beep an ongoing alarm for as long as its running if something's wrong.

A meme I saw online predicts Godzilla rampaging across the world this month. Enjoy!

Shaedeen M. Valzanar |

Right back at ya, Sunny!
The arrival of Japanese murder hornets in the U.S. was widely heralded to be the May 2020 scourge here; Godzilla is expected next month now. (Unless perhaps he's already stomping through other parts of the globe? I've cut back on watching the news.) Hurricane season kicks in soon, so I figure those'll be the July/August 2020 disasters for these parts.
So...everyone stay safe! (Some more.)

Very much wishin' every one all'a very bestest! (^_^)
Be safe from tha' nasty hornets an' things!

Reijo Ilvonen |

Sorry for the delayed response. Ghidorah decided to use my backyard to get in shape before taking on Godzilla again. The bastard crushed my deck and took down the power lines. Well, at least he scared the murder hornets away.
I hear Galactus is nigh? There's been a sighting in Australia (sorry Sunny!). Something else to look forward to!

"Sunny" |

If they can see his head, shouldn't we be able to see his feet or an arm or something?
Well... the story's comming from the Antartic base did seem rather.... weird.
Not sure what they were seeing, though.
XD

Lookin' towards all'a speakin' to tha' new peoples! Is so exitin'! (^_^)

Reijo Ilvonen |

So sorry for the long absence, everyone. I'll catch up soon, hopefully tomorrow. I've been a bit overwhelmed with work and other stuff, and am just too tired to catch up now. Soon! But of course bot me if needed.

"Sunny" |

*Hugz*
Be well Reijo! Same fer every one!
Stay safe an' healthy. (^_^)

Viktorra |

Hello everyone! DM Camris has been so kind as to politely reinvite me to join your crew, as soon as I change her back down to level 1.
I missed Viktorra, but with all of the real life stuff I had to handle, it was rough to continue. I am back now, and would love the opportunity to be accepted back into the crew! Should you like to have your captain back, that is.

"Sunny" |

Yay! (^_^)
*GLOMP HUGZ*
Wishin' every one all'a very bestest!

Shaedeen M. Valzanar |

Hmph! She's not my captain!
Don't pay any attention to Shae: She's rather full of herself, plus the only double-digit d20 roll she's had in like 3 months was a lousy Climb check! Some clown putting metal locks on the cages of captured rust monsters has not improved her disposition either.
Welcome to the game!

Viktorra |

Don't worry, Vik is quite the spicy lass, as the others from the first game can tell you. She is more than willing to fight with words and gun.
I'll have to figure out how I had her built for level 1, but that shouldn't take too long.

Reijo Ilvonen |

"Cap'n?!" Reijo gruffly retorts. "There be room fer only ONE bloody cap'n onboard this vessel, lassy."
Hey Viktorra! I remember you well. Good to see you back. :)

Viktorra |

It’s good to be back! Had a busy few days of work, should have her level 1 build finished relatively soon, by tomorrow, and I’ll post some way of her being on the ship already.
Any ideas?

Reijo Ilvonen |

A stowaway, hiding in one of the cages, perhaps disguised as a rust monster?
A captured prisoner, a member of the team that attacked us a bit earlier in this adventure, held by the captain of the current ship in secret for some nefarious plot reasons between you and the GM?
Sailing by on a dinghy, escaped from your sunken former ship (or so the story goes...), and you just "happened" to be "lucky" enough to cross paths with our ship on the open sea and come aboard... for some, possibly nefarious, reason known to you and the GM?
Feel free to use any or none of this. :)

"Sunny" |

Any ideas?
BUTTONS!
*Dances around happily*

"Sunny" |

See?
I has a plan!
*Begins checking Viktorra, Shaedeen as well as maybe Thurden for buttons*

Shaedeen M. Valzanar |

I’ll be without internet access for a period, so please bot my character during my absence. I applied for assisted-rate access, but the process is taking a while. I’m hoping to be back online in a week or so; if things drag out beyond two weeks, I’ll do my best to find a way to hop online long enough to give an update.

"Sunny" |

*Hugz* Be well Shaedeen

Finally, my Internet is back after four days. That was some storm here on the east coast. I'll be back soon to post, maybe tonight in about four or five hours, or tomorrow night the latest.

Wishin' every one all'a very bestest!
Be well Reijo!
