Male Human (Shoanti) Barbarian 2

Hey Camris, why was my Trip attempt ignored? The result seemed good.
Baral looks over his shoulder at Nakoda.
"Nakoda. I am about to tear them apart!"
He punches the nearest. Goes after the side of his head.

Unarmed Strike atk 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (1) + 8 = 9
Unarmed Strike dmg 1d3 + 6 ⇒ (1) + 6 = 7

Male Dwarf Rogue* 2

Hey you! do I look like the kinda dwarf you wanna be stealing from? scoffs Bor at the would be thief

Intimidate1d20 - 1 ⇒ (1) - 1 = 0

HAHAHHAHAA!

Baral's trip succeeds, sweeps the fools feet out from under him and he falls prone. You lose sight of him in the press of bodies.

Zane:

Perception: 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (19) + 0 = 19

Zane spots something out of place; he catches sight of a figure sweeping some chips into his pants.

Intelligence: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (10) + 5 = 15
As he turns around, you realize you've seen him before; it's one of the Cyphermage students from the Cypher Lodge! Hey, there's another one also sweeping chips into his pants! And another!
Hm... This cannot be a coincidence.

Maelorn:

Perception: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 4 = 10
Sense Motive: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (18) + 8 = 26
You note that only about a quarter of the people in the casino are affected by the riot inducing enchantment. The rest have crowded away from the action, and are even taking side bets.
You see Bor swing from a chandelier onto a table, then flex his muscles trying to intimidate someone you can't see in the crowd; and fail.

The Bosun stands there trying to work out his thoughts as one of his buddies grapples the other. The last one takes another poke at Maelorn.

Punch: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (7) + 3 = 10 which he easily avoids.

Eros:

By the way, that guy I said hit you, only almost hit you; his attack bounced off your shield.

Your threats make no impression on the brawlers.
But when you survey the room around you, you spot the sight of a pile of chips being swept off a Ghoulette table at the other end and into the waistband of one of the people who arent engaged in brawling. He's trying to do that and look innocent at the same time.

Kick: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (8) + 3 = 11 Eros avoids it without thinking.

Bor:

They only laugh at you.
The kid that swept the chips into his pants sidles off throug the crowd.

"Hey, get off the table you knobby midget!"
Punch: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (16) + 3 = 19 a blind punch gets lucky and smacks Bor on the nose for 1d2 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2 bludgeoning damage.
Reflex save vs DC14: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (3) + 6 = 9 and causing him to slip off the table and ...
Acrobatics: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (20) + 8 = 28 flip, then land perfectly on his feet. This elicits open mouthed astonishment on the part of those observing.

Baral:

Yep, your trip was good. Your follow up swing missed completely, spinning you around comically.

Punch: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (20) + 3 = 23
Confirm crit? 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (11) + 3 = 14 not confirmed, so the lucky hit landed one on your chin for 1d2 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2 points of bludgeoning.
Kick: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (16) + 3 = 19 comes close, but bounces off your nice clean armor. Sullying it.

Nakoda:

Perception: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (7) + 4 = 11

Punch: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8 misses you.
Kick: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7 misses you.

Female Human(Shoanti) Skald 8

Nakoda could only grin at the idiots that were attempting to flail about in feeble attempts to hit something, her hawk's eyes narrowed. "Baral!", she had to shout over the din of the noise. "Push to the right!" The edge of her shield was raised to point in the direction that she wanted to reach, towards that something she sensed, wondering what was going on in this city, but more specifically, what was going on in this gambling hall.

Smiling a bit ecstatically at the feel of the crowd, she turns that smile up at the nearest person standing in her way, and provided they did not move out of the way (which she expected) she would start using the butt of her whip.

Male Human Wizard 8

"There! And There!" Zane shouts from the catwalk, pointing.

"Cyphermages! They're the ones doing this! Bouncers! Get them!"

Male Half-Elf Ranger Level 2

Eros attempts to double move towards the front door. He is not going to let anyone enter or leave through it.........that is unless they go through him first. Especially not anyone dressed as a mage.

Eros will gladly suffer any attacks of opportunity from this action.

Male Human (Shoanti) Barbarian 2

Baral nods affirmitavely to Nakoda and pushes forward to clear a path through the brawl in the direction she pointed.

don't know if that'll be a Str check or a Combat Maneuvre Bonus check. Here you have both
Strength 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (4) + 6 = 10
CMB 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (6) + 8 = 14

Male Human (Shoanti) Barbarian 2

Where is my dice-rolling luck? Realizing it will be hard to get through (if there is even anyone in their path), in his next turn, Baral begins tripping those in their path over.
Trip 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (18) + 8 = 26

Male Human Cleric 3

Maelorn ignores the sailor trying to hit him, and moves through the crowd towards one of the mages that Zane pointed out.

Male Dwarf Rogue* 2

Hearing Zane's warning, Bor shrugs off the punch and jumps for the chandelier...

Use the chandelier(s) to move as close to any cyphermage he can see

Acrobatics 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (16) + 8 = 24
Perception 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (5) + 8 = 13

At Zane's shout several Cyphermages turn and shout outraged denials, threats of lawsuits, etc. Perhaps of more interest, there are five nondescript people that jerk suddenly, then scamper like frightened rabbits towards the exits. All of the party either see them (Zane and Bor have line of sight on all of them), or the motion they create through the crowd.

Everyone with line of sight can make a move to one target and attack if you like, those without line of sight must make a Perception DC13 before you can move to a target.

Nakoda:

The first brawler you use a whip on exclaims in outrage then seems to snap out of the violent state he was in. Confused, he stumbles out of the melee and away from you holding his reddened cheek.

Eros shoves his way through the crowd to the front doors, where the startled bouncers obey him to bar the doors.

Baral, stymied on trying to shove his way through the brawlers, resorts to a leg sweep to clear the way for him and Nakoda.

The Bosun lunges forward to tackle his friend to the ground and Maelorn is finally free to look around at the crowd...
Perception: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 4 = 5 but is frustrated by his inability to spot a Cyphermage.

Male Human Cleric 3

Unsure of the specific instigators, Maleorn makes his way to the platform that held the treasure chest during the tournament, and does his best to calm the crowd.

Male Half-Elf Ranger Level 2

Eros tries to spot the targets and to determine if they are all going for the front door, or using other exits:

Move Action: Perception:1d20 + 6 ⇒ (17) + 6 = 23

Free Action: Eros Shouts "Bouncers! there they are! engage them!

Standard Action: Ready an attack roll to be unleashed against the first nondescript person that comes into range.

If such an event happens, then:

Attack roll: Humanbane Spike Gauntlet: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (6) + 5 = 11

Damage:1d4 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4

If they are human, then +2Attack, +2Damage enhancement not added in, and the extra bane damage is:2d6 ⇒ (4, 5) = 9

If they are elven, then +2Attack, +2 Damage not added in for favored enemy.

Male Human (Shoanti) Barbarian 2

If Baral and Nakoda are not yet out of the way of the brawlers he continues to push through. Otherwise he takes a moment to see if he can get an overview of what is really going on in the casino, aside from the brawl.
Perception1d20 + 4 ⇒ (18) + 4 = 22

Female Human(Shoanti) Skald 8

For the present, Nakoda had seen something interesting in what was going on, but was currently trying to figure out how to manage something on a larger scale, and was at a loss as to how to manage it, much to her dismay. Growling at her inability to manage what she was looking for, Nakoda decided on another approach. "Hit them!", she encouraged Baral. "They need to be shocked!"

She takes whatever strikes she can get against the ones Baral knocks down, unable to communicate in the midst of this to the others, and still unable to figure a way to manage the effect across the mass of others. She still focuses on whatever it was that she could sense.

Zane [npc] calls out directions to the suspects and uses Prestidigitation to form glowing arrows pointing at them in the air above.
Because of this all the suspects are concidered to be in line of sight now. You may each close an make your action this round.

Maelorn:

Diplomacy: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (7) + 7 = 14
Sense Motive: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (19) + 7 = 26
Spellcraft: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (17) + 5 = 22

Maelorn has his hands full preventing the crowd from panicing from the suspects running and being pursued. He notices that about half of the brawlers are down mostly due to exhaustion, and suspects that that might be a limiter to the spell. If so it will run out in a round or two...

Eros spots one suspect burst from the crowd towards the main doors. He unloads the tremendous punch he has been holding into the suspects face; blood and teeth explode from the hit and he knocks the suspect in a backward flip to land in an unmoving heap. If he's not dead he's mighty close. The crowd around him is shocked into silence. Even the brawlers around Eros freeze.

Male Half-Elf Ranger Level 2

If the suspect on the ground is unconscious, then Eros will attempt to stabilize him.

Standard Action: Heal Check: First Aid:1d20 + 4 ⇒ (20) + 4 = 24

Move action: Eros moves towards the other suspects with hate in his eyes and a sneer poised to devour these hapless thieves who manipulate his profits.

Male Human (Shoanti) Barbarian 2

Bump?... I didn't see anything useful with the 22 from my Perception roll?

At Nakoda's command, Baral clenches his teeth and fists and begins to punch the brawlers in their forheads left and right.

unarmed strike attack1d20 + 8 ⇒ (8) + 8 = 16
unarmed strike damage1d3 + 6 ⇒ (1) + 6 = 7

unarmed strike attack1d20 + 8 ⇒ (20) + 8 = 28
unarmed strike damage1d3 + 6 ⇒ (1) + 6 = 7

unarmed strike attack1d20 + 8 ⇒ (20) + 8 = 28
unarmed strike damage1d3 + 6 ⇒ (2) + 6 = 8

To clairify; There are now glowing arrows pointing at the suspects. Because of this all the suspects are concidered to be in line of sight now; that means you percieve where they are. You may each move to a suspect and make your action this round. There were five suspects, but Eros just took one down.

Even without the glowing arrows, Baral percieves the wake one suspect is making through the crowd barely ten feet away.

As Barals fists make contact with the brawlers, they are snapped out of their frenzy right as they are knocked unconscious.

Eros, seeing the damage his iron fist delivered, quickly does a very effective first aid on the suspect, preventing him from bleeding to death.

Male Human (Shoanti) Barbarian 2

they are snapped out of their frenzy right as they are knocked unconscious, lol :)

Spotting the magical glowing arrows that seems to float in the air inside the casino and point on certain individuals, after knocking the nearest brawlers out, Baral turns to Nakoda, and points at the nearest "suspect". "Look! Magic!"

If there is another brawler close to them, who might distract Nakoda from analyzing the arrow thing, Baral throws a fist in his face after speaking.

unarmed strike attack 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (20) + 8 = 28
unarmed strike damage 1d3 + 6 ⇒ (2) + 6 = 8

And with another mighty knockout punch from Baral, all the brawlers around Baral and Nakoda are either wandering awya, spell broken, or down from exhaustion or knockouts.

Female Human(Shoanti) Skald 8

With the way clear, Nakoda goes to examine the source of the magic that she could sense, curious about the effects that it was causing.

The arrows that Baral points to get a glance from her, looking up at them and making sense of the spell-- there was one that she knew that could manage that effect-- as well as the individuals that they were pointed to, and she smiled. "Them, you can hurt." she said, realizing that they were neither employees of their employer, or anyone that she was familiar with. Turning her head back to what she was originally following, she added over her shoulder, "..at least until they surrender."

She knew she really should not be surprised at Baral's prowess when it came to physical matters. That skill was the reason that he was told to accompany her, and she was indeed glad that he did. Getting through the rioting crowd on her own would have been nigh-impossible. Personally, she was glad that it was over, so she could take the shield off of her arm now. She did not like having her vision impeded.

Male Half-Elf Ranger Level 2

I am unsure of when Eros will act next, but when he does.......

Eros attacks the nearest thief with his humanbane spiked gauntlet

Attack Roll:1d20 + 5 ⇒ (7) + 5 = 12

Damage:1d4 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4

If they are human, then +2Attack, +2Damage enhancement not added in, and the extra bane damage is:2d6 ⇒ (1, 2) = 3

If they are elven, then +2Attack, +2 Damage not added in for favored enemy.

Male Human (Shoanti) Barbarian 2

I have noticed Zane, Maelorn and Bor haven't posted for many days now. Do you know what's up with that, DM?

Baral nods at Dakoda's go-ahead and charges if possible the nearest of the individuals that are pointed out by magical arrows. would be neat with some kind of description of these individuals

He draws his battleaxe while charging if possible
Battleaxe attack1d20 + 10 ⇒ (18) + 10 = 28
Battleaxe attack1d8 + 6 ⇒ (7) + 6 = 13

Maelorn is concemtratomg on keeping the crowds calm. Shoudl it look like y'all are in difficulty, he'll step into a more active combat role, but at the moment everything seems to be under control. I am checking in every day, though.

I think both Zane and Bor have a lot of Alts, they most likely are very busy, as we all are at times. I began the game swearing to post every day, but I usually wind up posting every other day.

It is at this point that something strange happens...

Everyone feels a frission through the air, and the hair on the back of your necks stands straight up.

As a suspect crashes through the crowd towards the main door, Eros raises his gauntleted fist to smash him. Only to find that as he wound up, the gauntlet was pulled towards one of the metal bars on the door and sticks there. Dex check DC15 or Escape Artist DC10 to slip out of the gauntlet.

Two of the metal posts holding up the fancy guide ropes up on the central platform where Maelorn is first lean towards him, then leap to attach themselves to his cold iron warhammer and breastplate respectively. Str check DC15 to unstick them.

The cane Zane holds is pulled abruptly to the metal frame of the catwalk and sticks there. Str Check DC15 to unstick it.

As Bor swung from the chandelier, it sways the other way and he lands away from his suspect, who sniggers before he is pulled with a yelp into close contact with each other. Str check DC15 to unstick each other

While Nakoda doesn't feel is as intensely as the others, she still feels various metallic objects on her body being pulled on like they were attached to strings. They distract her, but not enough to stop her from bringing down one of the suspects with her whip and start tying him up.

The most spectacular example is Baral.
As he roars in a berserker rage and he swings his great axe back to chop his suspect in half, several things happen.
First, his suspect takes one look, gives a girlish shriek and curls up in a ball.
Second, the axe abruptly snaps against Barals plate armored back and is held there strongly.
Third, three civilians are pulled into hard contact with Baral, apparently they have enough metal on their bodies to be affected.
Fourth, a nearby ghoulette wheel abruptly flips end over end through the air to stick to Barals breastplate.
Fifth, one of the five hundred pound golden goblin statues squeeks and wobbles as it is drawn slowly over to Baral. Baral will have to make a Strength check DC15 to avoid being drawn into the statue.

Throughout the room, if the shrieks of the crowd are any indication, similar events are taking place all over the casino. You hear Saul shouting with frustrated rage as he can't open the metal cage door to the counting room.

Perception DC16:

And if the shrieks you hear outside are any indication, it's happening all over the city too.

Maelorn it will take a Diplomacy check DC16 to prevent a panic.

Male Dwarf Rogue* 2

"AAggh! get of me you dam fool! curses Bor as he tries to free himself from the suspect.

Strength Check 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 1 = 9
Perception1d20 + 8 ⇒ (13) + 8 = 21

Sorry for my absence guys. Life is pretty busy as of late. My apologies for slowing anything up.

Male Human Cleric 3

STR Check 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6
Futilely pulling at the bar attached to his breastplate, Maelorn addresses the crowd, "Ladies and Gentlemen, please remain calm. We are in the process of apprehending those who tried to cause you to riot, and some disruptions are inevitable."
Diplomacy1d20 + 7 ⇒ (1) + 7 = 8 Alas, it seems like he is not very effective.

Male Half-Elf Ranger Level 2

Eros tries to pull his hand free of the Gauntlet.

Dexterity Check:1d20 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7

Zane pulls at his cane, trying to unstick it...
Strength check: 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (6) + 0 = 6 ...to no avail.

Bor tries to get free from his suspect, also to no avail.

Bor:

Man this guy is young. Beardless young.

Maelorn is also unable to unstick himself, and his words fall on deaf ears as the crowd stampedes...

Eros tries to slip free from the gauntlet stuck to the bars, but can't quite do it. The suspect hits the front door, but bounces as they've been barred. This puts him in grapple range of Eros' other hand.

Nakoda is free still, and finishes tying up her suspect.

Baral picks up another three people as he is buffeted about by the stampede, (Str check: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (15) + 5 = 20 but he is able to throw his body against the statue to prevent it from toppling on top of the crowd.

Male Human (Shoanti) Barbarian 2

Baral yells out to Nakoda in shoanti while struggling to hold back the statue. "Nakoda! How do we stop it?!"

Male Half-Elf Ranger Level 2

Eros struggles once more to free his incapacitated hand.

Dexterity Check:1d20 + 3 ⇒ (11) + 3 = 14

Eros reaches with his other arm, and tries to wrap it around his opponent's throat.

CMB:1d20 + 4 ⇒ (20) + 4 = 24

Female Human(Shoanti) Skald 8

Nakoda looked at the suspect that she had tied up and thumped them on the head once with a sharp glare. She did not favor him with any words, but hogtied as he was, her leg was close enough for his view to only be her leg from the knee down. Baral's words reminded her of what she had been doing before the riot broke out.

Again she chanted the entreaty to the totem of their clan, asking to be granted the power to sense as it does, seeing the magic in the casino as a hawk would in flight, with pressures and sensations indicating the presence of magic, her eyes sharpening as she focused in on a source. Her movements were gliding, almost smooth, save for her head, which turned this way and that as she attempted to make sense of the effect that had drawn things to each other.
Casting Detect Magic again.

Eros struggles, but cannot slip his hand free of the gauntlet. Fortunately, or unfortunately for the suspect, he comes within arms reach of Eros. Eros grabs him by the throat and chokes him unconscious.

As Nakoda looks around, she senses through Detect Magic...
Spellcraft: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (9) + 5 = 14
that the spell she detected on the rioters earlier is unravelling now throughout the casino.

At this point, 70 seconds after it began, the magnetic effect ends.
The metallic objects drop away from Maelorn, Eros pulls his gauntlet free, Bor and his suspect spring apart, all the people (and his axe) fall off of Baral, and the large statue of the Golden Goblin slowly rocks back to rest.

The companions quickly round up the suspects. There are five of them (two collared by Eros in need of serious medical attention). What is surprising is that they range in age between 13 and 15 years old. They also have a small tatoo on their faces.

Zane or Knowledge (Local) DC20:

You recognize them as being local aprentice Cyphermages.

Search DC15:

When searched, you find that they all had specially padded deep pockets in their pants where they had swept the high value chips into them when the riot distracted the security.

Saul finally charges out of the now freed cage door, brandishing what looks like a broom handle and shouts; "What the [bleep] is going on?!"

Male Human Wizard 8

"They're ciphermage apprentices. Little bastards are probably trying to impress their superiors."

Male Human Cleric 3

On hearing Zane's accusation, Maelorn nods to himself, Cyphermages were not exactly the most popular group in town.

Remembering the shouts and threats of lawsuit, Maelorn finds the nearest full Cyphermage and puts a hand on his shoulder, "I think it best you stay here. These boys have masters, and someone is going to be responsible for the chaos and loss of income this evening."

Male Half-Elf Ranger Level 2

Eros attempts a heal check on the child he just strangled.

Heal Check:First Aid:1d20 + 4 ⇒ (14) + 4 = 18

Next, Eros gives orders to the bouncers to retrieve the stolen chips from the cyphermage apprentices.

Eros then says to saul:"Perhaps you should ban cyphermages from frequenting your establishment. Apparently they are too dishonest to be trusted to behave like adults."

Male Human (Shoanti) Barbarian 2

When the situation goes back to normal, Baral takes hold of the nearest cyphermage apprentice and drags him by the collar to Nakoda. "I caught this one for you Nakoda. Maybe the little troublemaker here knows something about the big shadow in the sky." The huge brute of a man, wearing full plate and a grey cloak drops the youngling on the floor in front of Nakoda.

Female Human(Shoanti) Skald 8

In Shoanti, Nakoda thanked Baral, and turned a bemused smile on the two that were nearest her. Crouching slowly, she spoke loud enough for the two to hear her, and let her common be accented with the tones of her native tongue, just in case they were unsure about who they were dealing with. "The first one to tell me what they know gets to keep their teeth in their mouth", she said, letting her smile edge a little into chill regard.
Intimidate1d20 + 9 ⇒ (13) + 9 = 22

The effects that were managed seemed to be too powerful for one of these younglings to have managed, but that was something that she was sure of when she sensed it. An organized attempt to rob this particular location had to have been more involved than just those present. "Who helped you?"
