In order to track down the missing Queen of Witches, the heroes must brave the monster-infested capital city of Whitethrone, where Baba Yaga’s Dancing Hut has been captured and put on display. in a dead calm voice, Caladan commands the red bandit to flee. then moves around to help Gondork open the door next round.

will save vs. command: 1d20 ⇒ 6

the big picture

The fourth bandit, in red, does indeed flee, his eyes opening wide, unsure why he's even moving. but move he does. Alone, the fifth bandit in blue suddenly reconsiders his options. He takes a slash through the window at Giaccomo, but the window, even opened, provides some cover and the short sword sinks into the windowframe as he misses. Drawing it back cleanly, the bandit then retreats a bit.

Gondork is up, and then its round 3.

the door does look easier to chop a hole through than to break through due to being barred. i'm dubious if the break DC can be done in combat.

Gondork has had it with the whole situation, and foam drips from the corners of his mouth as the expression on his face turns more... orcish than before. He roars, and bashes his whole weight against the door.

Do you still have a move action (or five-foot step) left to enter? I'd like to cast Enlarge Person when you're inside, if that's okay with you. :P

Also, you said 4 was fleeing, but I don't see that reflected on the map.
Also also, Caladan sort of promised to keep a Cure Light in reserve in case anyone got hurt. I'm out of spells and I only have one Channel left, so we kind of need it, but I'm glad they're all failing their Will saves. :P

Meanwhile the green bandit continues to crawl away ( Gondork, you're on the table, kinda almost out of reach, but you can take an attack of opportunity on it if you'd like ) and the sick green bandit approaches the table, trying to attack Gondork. but both the sick red and sick green bandit miss.

actually not so bad. only the sick red bandit that Caladan laid low groggily opens his eyes, hesitantly looking around. Gondork belches semi-coherently. sorry for the long post, but a lot happens this round.

"Fine" says Ten-Penny , from the ceiling, "Get me out of these blasted winter woods and I'll help how I can... "She manages to say, before the bellowing voice of Rohkar cuts her off.

"No one leaves with the noble! If you're too cowardly to do your duty alive, then you'll serve in death! Kill the intruders or your afterlives will be a torturous existence! "

The ochre bandit starts to stand up, the purple bandit seems hesitant about what to do, whether to follow ten-penny's lead or listen to Rohkar

As the ochre bandit is getting up, grabbing the weapons he dropped, skeletons emerge from the top room, walking down the stairs and then turning to cut the bandit down. a second skeleton trudges down the stairs, leveling its scimitar at the green bandit hiding around the corner.

Finally emerging from his room, Rohkar kneels down and with a few words attempts to suck out the soul of the dying ochre bandit, you watch as the pale glowing life force is drawn from his body, Rohkar attempting to drink it deeply, but the bandit is tenacious, holding onto his soul.

Needing no more motivation, the purple bandit swings at Caladan, who brings up his morningstar to block. The sick red bandit attempts to pick up his short sword and stand up, but caladan brings the morningstar's head down on the bandits forearm, leaving a bloody pulp as the bandit passes out in shock.

"You may not seek only justice Giacomo, but Justice will be done it seems."

The green bandit tries to crawl away from the skeleton to comply, but you just hear a shivering gasp and he stops moving. You can see the fire in the fireplace gutter and nearly go out as though an aura of cold eminates from the skeleton, its bones you can see now, covered in a layer of ice.

The sap falls harmlessly down onto gondork's belly with a grunt, as ten penny draws a wobbly bag from her pack and lobs it at the skeleton at the base of the stairs. the bag explodes on impact, covering the frosty skeleton with goo. "A show of good faith, I'm sick of Rohkar's shit. "

"Not me! I still serve you Rohkar!" The sick green bandit says, raising his sword to stab it down into gondork, prone on the table. But Gondork shifts his body a bit, and the sword sticks into the table. the bandit backs away a step, a scared look on his face.

sick grey #8 is out of commission & stable
red #4 is out of commission & stable

the sick blue bandit manages to kinda club caladan with the flat of his blade by accident, ( dealing 1 NL damage )

Gondork and Giacomo are up

rolls:

sick blue v. caladan: 1d20 ⇒ 161d6 - 2 ⇒ (1) - 2 = -1

I'm having trouble understanding where Rohkar is, but if Arwyn can hit him, so can I, right? We're next to each other.

"Rohkar! I've warned you! We're just here for the kidnapped lady, nothing more! You've squandered your last chance!"

Arrow at Rohkar: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (15) + 5 = 201d6 ⇒ 3

Arrow count: 52. No channels or spells left, 4 uses each of my domain abilities.

the big picture

he's up on the balcony. the ochre bandit ran up the stairs at the start of combat to knock on his door and tell him there were intruders. the ochre bandit stayed up there and shot down at you guys. EVENTUALLY rohkar came out, with some skeletons. yup, you can hit him.

the only stairs on the map, lead up to the balcony, which is ( on the map ) floating south of the sick-room. if you scroll down on the map

I think I'm still down at -3, no?

the big picture

nope. you were down to 7 hp, and the sap dealt 11 nonlethal damage. ten-penny only knocked you out. then giacomo's heal restored you to 11 hp, and now you only have 6 nonlethal damage on you.

Ah. In that case, I'd like to stay on the ground and ready an attack when something in reach takes offensive action towards us.

Gondork grunts, but eyes the situation suspiciously, waiting for it to resolve.

the big picture

should've stood up while nothing was threatening you.

Round 7:
[20: ochre (#1) ], [20: purple (#2)], [20: rohkar], [18: sick red (#6) ], [17: green (#3) ], [15: half-orc/ten-penny], [13: sick green (#7)], [12: Arwyn], [11: Caladan], [11: sick grey (#8)], [9: red (#4)], [8: sick blue (#9)], [3: blue (#5)], [3: Gondork], [3: Giacomo]
(sick blue isn't going to do anything spectacular. probably lash out and run away) its basically you all and them all now. though something does happen on 10

the purple bandit withdraws out the door, not going far, but getting away from you four, as well as his vindictive boss.

One skeleton plunges its scimitar into the ochre bandits chest and comes down the stairs, while the other advances until the fireplace and takes a swing at gondork, it misses, but the angle is off for gondork to hit the skeleton as well.

Rohkar reaches down, plucks something into the ochre bandits mouth, and says something. A moment later there appear to be two of Rohkar.

Ten-penny runs away, on the ceiling, into the other room, fleeing around the chimney, disappearing in the rafters.

the sick green bandit takes damage from the cold aura on the skeleton, and tries to flee back into the sick room, withdrawing, but he can't open the door.

K. Religion DC 13:
These appear to be frost skeletons. they emit an aura of cold that effects anyone who starts their turn adjacent.

K. Religion DC 18:
They also explode when they're destroyed, in a blast of arctic energy.

rolls:

skeleton: 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (3) + 0 = 31d6 + 1d6 ⇒ (5) + (5) = 10
gondork: 1d20 + 3 - 4 ⇒ (13) + 3 - 4 = 122d6 + 6 ⇒ (1, 5) + 6 = 12

cold vs sick green : 1d6 ⇒ 4

stealth: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (2) + 9 = 11
stealth: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (17) + 9 = 26

gondork you get an AoO on the red skeleton as it comes and moves through your threatened area.

k. religion: 1d20 + 6 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 6 + 1 = 8

i'll ignore the sick blue bandit, there's more dangerous foes.

morningstar: 1d20 + 3 + 1 ⇒ (17) + 3 + 1 = 211d8 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6

the big picture

I checked for the AoO on the red one, it misses.

Caladan strolls over, ignoring the weak attack by the sick blue bandit, and smash your morningstar into the skeleton, smashing it. It explodes in a flurry of ice, bone, and frozen bone shards and marrow. Gondork saves for 3 damage, Caladan fails but only takes 1 damage after his cold resistance.

rolls:

gondork aoo on red: 1d20 + 3 - 4 ⇒ (13) + 3 - 4 = 122d6 + 6 ⇒ (2, 1) + 6 = 9

sick blue: 1d20 ⇒ 51d6 - 2 ⇒ (4) - 2 = 2

icy blast: 1d6 ⇒ 6
caladan @ reflex: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2
gondork @ reflex: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (20) + 1 = 21

the big picture

oops forgot the downed guy, #8 takes the full blast, bad placement from where he fell.

rolls:

#8: 1d20 - 2 - 5 ⇒ (19) - 2 - 5 = 12
