keep track for now. i'm not sure how many regular arrows we can assume Arwyn can craft in a night. i'm presuming you're not knocking a cold iron arrow since it wasn't said who was getting which of those. Resupplying in town takes care of the problem once you go back and when time allows. but i'm not sure how often that will be yet.

Griffin Master |

As Arwyn approaches the snowman, getting close enought to prod it with an arrow, the snowman shakes as he gets angry, dropping the sign, his stick arms balling up into little fists, shouting Get LOST!! before exploding in a pile of snow. the reverberations and sound HURT and leave Arwyn rather startled, staring into space for a few seconds before her hearing returns and she shakes it off.
it was a magical trap.
sonic damage: 1d8 ⇒ 1
fort vs. stun : 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (10) + 4 = 14
slam: 1d20 + 3 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (11) + 3 + 2 + 2 = 181d4 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4 plus 1d3 ⇒ 3 cold
slam: 1d20 + 3 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (20) + 3 + 2 + 2 = 271d4 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4 plus 1d3 ⇒ 3 cold
slam: 1d20 + 3 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 3 + 2 + 2 = 131d4 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4
Its while she's stunned that patches of Ice from the stream rise up, spikey icy formations shuffling along to the edge of the stream and surround Arwyn and attack, surrounding her and taking advantage of her while she's stunned to slam her hard. one looks like it nearly gets a shot on her kidney. some of their cold leaves icy streaks on her studded leather
Arwyn takes 1 sonic, has 1 nonlethal cold from the journey this morning, and then takes 10 more damage leaving her staggered at zero? even after the stunned condition wears off just before her next turn.
Giacomo's readied shot goes wide as he tries to shoot at the ice creatures, realizing they're the threat, but it goes wide.

Griffin Master |

keep in mind the snowfall as well, giving a -4 on perception checks and -4 on ranged attack rolls.

Gondork Ramcleft |

Gondork roars at the icy shards and snow man, his face blushing red with anger.
ROAAWR! I KNEW IT WAS A TRICK!! SIVANAH UNCOVER MY EYES!!!
Cast Lead blades on light flail as a standard action. Spend 1 mental focus as a swift action to gain sudden speed (+30ft movement) for one round. Move action to move into flank with Arwyn.

Caladan Brood |

Seeing the explosion of the snowman he growled in frustration, drawing his shield he prepared to releash his cure light wounds for arwyn once he was in range. With that cast he moved up to arwyn and touched her to release the spell.
Cast cure light wounds, move to arwyn and touch her for the CLW
Cure Light Wounds: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5

Griffin Master |

* will presume you had your shield on beforehand. you cast and move, but with the snow, its tough to move. you move up at half speed. The ice creatures seem to have no trouble moving over the frozen stream or the snow.

[ round 3 ]:

Giacomo Rumble |

Giacomo plows forward, still holding his bow at the ready.
Attack roll against the thing in the middle: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (16) + 1 = 171d6 ⇒ 2
+5 to-hit, -4 for into melee. Arrow count: 58
"Don't worry, Arwyn, I'm coming for you! The snow's slowing me down, though, I promise you have my full attention!"

Arwyn Fynolt |

Disabled, Arwyn drops into a total defensive stance (AC20) and with a tremendous effort, acrobatically jumps/backflips/tumbles back up the trail (avoiding AoO attacks) as far as she can before collapsing unconscious.
Acrobatics: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (14) + 9 = 23

Griffin Master |

[staggered restricts you to one move action or a standard action. you can withdraw from your current square towards Caladan, as part of that move action you can tumble to avoid the possible AoO from the injured ice creature (otherwise you'd need to make 2 checks, one for the first, one for the second at a -2 penalty, on to of the -2 from the difficult terrain. withdraw and tumble gets you safely to Caladan, and you can tag him for the 5 healing. safer than staying in the fray even with AC 20 possibly. Sound okay?]
Arwyn, dazed and shivering, manages to back away from the ice creatures, dodging and rolling away, brushing up against Caladan's outstretched hand, and feeling an almost warm rush of healing flow into her aching side and shivering limbs.
cures the 1 nonlethal cold damage, removing your frostbite and healing back 5 of the damage you've suffered. the staggered condition from their attacks also wears off.
the ice creatures carefully retreat back onto the frozen ice, menacingly awaiting pursuit.

Caladan Brood |

With Arwyn recieving some of the needed healing he drew his morning start and moved forward, standing next to Gondork to lock shields in a way and see what the creatures were up to.
"Slow and steady..."

Giacomo Rumble |

"You take 'em, guys! I'll back you up from over here!"
With that, Giacomo lays a hand on Arwyn and lets a healing wave flow through her.
Cure Light on Arwyn: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3

arwyn(m10): 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (16) + 1 = 17

gondork: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (3) + 6 = 9
giacomo(m10): 1d20 ⇒ 14
Caladan is pretty sure they're ice elementals. they're unhindered by the falling snow, the snow or ice on the ground, and their attacks can stagger you with numbing cold if you take cold damage. They're vulnerable to fire, but not really any other weaknesses.

How would the stagger work with my Binding Ties domain ability?
http://www.d20pfsrd.com/classes/core-classes/cleric/domains/paizo---domains /community-domain/family
I touch someone, I become staggered, they lose it? Seems a bit weird considering I might need to use pretty much my entire turn to use this (move up to the person, then standard to touch) to obtain a condition that won't even be relevant anymore, since I become staggered until the end of my turn, which is right then. Or would I be staggered next turn?
Also, for honesty's sake, I forgot to add the -4 to my last attack roll for the snow. Don't suppose a 13 hits.

Gondork Ramcleft |

Gondork walks over to the nearest ice monster while taking out his shield, then attempts to shatter it with his leadified light flail!
Attack, defensively: 1d20 - 2 ⇒ (15) - 2 = 13
Damage: 2d6 + 4 ⇒ (6, 4) + 4 = 14
AC at 21 now

Griffin Master |

isn't drawing your shield as part of a move one of those member perks of the "+1 bab" club?
Gondork approaches the injured elemental and swings his flail which surges through the air with a mystic thrumm, but it bends and dodges the attack.

Griffin Master |

15 just misses.

[ round 4 ]:

Arwyn Fynolt |

Revived by Caladan's and Giacomo's healing touches, she whispered 'Thank you', then rolled back up to stand again. She drew and, seeing the wounded one too close to melee, fired an arrow at the far ice critter.
Longbow shot: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (18) + 4 = 22 for a possible 1d8 ⇒ 8 piercing damage.

slam: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (18) + 3 = 211d4 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5 plus 1d3 ⇒ 3 cold
your AC is 19 now? 21? you're 19 normal, fighting defensively. so AC 21?
AoO: 1d20 ⇒ 10
fort save vs. staggered: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7
reposition: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4
The arrow slams into the far elemental, knocking a chunk of ice away from his main "body". The one going toe-to-toe with Gondork slams him hard, and then retreats, leaving an opening, but Gondork, still in a defensive stance, fails to connect. Then the far elemental closes with Gondork, and reaches around him, grabbing him by the waist while he's off balance and can't react, but doesn't manage to get a good hold on Gondork.
Gondork takes 5 damage plus 3 cold damage and is Staggered for 1 round from the shock of cold to his system. He's got 3 nonlethal cold damage, so he's on the verge of passing out anyway if he takes any more damage.
i recolored one of them light blue, the other a ... darker blue/indigo? to tell them apart a bit. the 22 arrow hits, even with the -4 from the snow.

Giacomo Rumble |

"Gondork! Stop running towards them! I can't keep up with you if you're in trouble!"
Giacomo moves forward a bit (normal difficult terrain, right?) and channels energy, excluding the one next to Gondork.
Channel Energy: 1d6 ⇒ 3
Christ, my rolls suck.

Also, this might be a good time to tell that I'm slightly colour-blind. I can't distinguish adjacent colours very well (meaning, colours that are next to each other on the colour wheel). I barely see the difference between the two. You don't need to do too much effort, as I probably won't be in melee much, so it's not a big deal for me, but if you could distinguish enemies by primary colour or complementary colours, that'd be awesome.
For example, I know you can't help it much, but this map is just one big blue blob for me. >_> The higher the contrast, the better for me. Tertiary colours don't exist for me, and neither do a lot of secondary colours.

good to know. i tend to go primary colors for ease anyway. they just looked uglier for this image. =X
but adjusted it to base color (blue) and red to differentiate these two guys.Gondork feels a lot better, the nonlethal damage clearing and his frostbitten skin knitting back together, he's no longer frostbitten. but is still staggered. I also updated Arwyn's health on the map from Giacomo's CLW and channel, she's nearly full again.

Gondork Ramcleft |

Try #2! (Assuming I had my shield out before combat)
Gondork musters his strength, ferociously slinging his flail at the elemental.
No...More.... TRICKS!
Attack: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 = 8

Caladan Brood |

Moving forward and then ending up next to Gondork he raised his morning star and tried to connect it with the snow creature.

Arwyn Fynolt |

Round 4_____
Arwyn slogged forward fifteen feet and took aim again, but she had no shot with all her companions in the way. She cursed in a most unladylike manner and continued to wade through the snow until she was standing on the shore.
Double move.

Griffin Master |

Gondork brings his flail down with a crack on the ice at the elemental's feet, separating a satisfying chunk, but not from the elemental. Caladan wades up through the snow next to him, whailing his morningstar across the ice elemental launching a nugget resembling the creature's head a good thirty feet down the frozen stream, the ice shards composing the elemental shattering and crumbling to frost on the frozen stream, blending in with the falling snow quickly. It seems destroyed, while Arwyn sloggs through the snowdrifts catching up with the rest of the group.
elemental, so immune to crits anyhow, but good solid hit.
The remaining elemental surges forward at Gondork, sinking rapidly into the icy stream, dipping below the surface and disappearing like a shark. The moment of expected impact comes and goes with no sign of the elemental or its attack...
Snow falls peacfully for a second as you look around, not seeing a sign of anything going on, wondering where it went and what its up to.

Seeing the creature vanishing he let go of a soft gutteral curse in infernal. Shaking his head he moved forward in hopes Gondork would step behind him and this distracting the creature so it would attack him.
5 foot aka 10 foot step forward on the corpse of the dead one

Griffin Master |

i removed the small elemental corpse. @caladan moving and readying an attack?
[ round 4 ]: [16:giacomo], [14: gondork], [6: environment effect ]

Griffin Master |

yeah. it moved towards you, but descended/burrowed down into the ice at the same time. so its somewhere under the ice. it left no hole or trail or anything as it burrowed.

Griffin Master |

As you stand by the edge of the frozen river, alert for the ice elemental, Arwyn, Caladan, and Gondork feel small stings, a wave of numbing cold washing over Gondork but not effecting the others. You look around and spot a blurr of diminutive wings, flying behind some rocks and trees near the shore, flying, though no one sees the source of the third attack.
Arwyn, Gondork, and Caladan are hit flat footed by attackers, you spot two of them, ruining their stealth. the third remains undetected. you each take 1 lethal damage, and Gondork is staggered for a round by the numbing cold.

Seeing Gondork falter, Giacomo springs into action. He runs up to Gondork and taps him on the shoulder encouragingly.
"Don't worry, Gondork. I have faith in you. Go deal with these things."
One use of my Binding Ties ability. I'll be staggered next round instead of Gondork.

Griffin Master |

sure. if you've got knowledge (nature) as well, you can take a stab at identifying the little flying things.

Yeah, no. INT 7, so 1 skill rank per level. Rolled it untrained just to see what'd happen, and the dice agree with me. :P

Gondork Ramcleft |

Thanks, master halfling. However, I feel like this... ice magic is coming from the soil. I propose a tactical retreat. Now go while I hold it off!
Gondork says with a quivering voice.
Ready a move action to move off the ice once Giacomo and Caladan move as well.

Griffin Master |

you know you were sniped. the chill set in when the diminutive arrow hit your character. the successful snipe just meant no one has seen the third fairy yet.
