Arwyn looks aorund, but doesn't spot the little creature. She can see the two ringed as green and blue on the map. you recognize them as winter touched sprites, diminutive fey of the cold subtype. Its going to take cold iron to really cut them true. But they seem small enough that one satisfying whack should splat them.
Right. I thought the ice elementals were sniping us.
Ooc. unlikely to be him, unless he's now shucking needles at you to freeze you, instead of slamming you.
Gondork looks around, he spots another sprite by the tree southeast of him ( with north being the top of the screen ). The elemental doesn't show itself. that was who you were trying to intimidate or coax out from the ice at you?[ round 5 ]: [15: caladan (ready)], [6: stingers ]

everyone can see the 2 faries by the rock and tree. outlined in green and blue on the map. you only can't spot the third archer. I can just keep re-stating that.
so caladan goes full defensive, and moves up? ok?
A farie Gondork spotted, swerves away from Gondork where it looks like she was hoping to fly in and surprise him too. The farie flies down, in front of Giacomo, opening up her hand, which explodes in a multihued burst of light, it catches caladan, knocking him out. he collapses into the snow. Another needle-like arrow strikes Arwyn, who shruggs off the numbing cold that radiates from it.

suddenly out of the corner of your eyes, though you can't see where the faeries have gone, you see caladan begin sliding through the snow, and then realize the ice elemental is dragging his unconscious body towards the frozen stream, stealing him. the elemental manages to drag him ten ft through the snow to the edge of the stream.

he'll provoke now, if he pulls him. but i suppose you could grab his legs or arms and pull, and aid his CMD. or at least force a contested strength check between you and the elemental if he pulls on the dead body, i mean unconscious body. but no one's got an action left to do tha. so you might settle for provoking.
But he doesn't do that. Arwyn and Gondork can take attacks of opportunity.
the elemental drops Caladan, grabbing Arwyn and trying to shove her around the ice, fails to get a hold on her, and then flees, moving away and sinking beneath the ice as he moves away, disappearing from view again ten feet away from you. (assuming of course the AoOs don't kill it)

Round 8_____
Not liking how the ice elemental can dive in and out of the ice, Arwyn grabs Caladan and drags him as far as she can up on solid land again.
Dragging maneuver
Griffin Master
Together, Arwyn and Gondork manage to smash the fleeing ice elemental to smitherines. Gondork storms back to the fray with the fey. Expecting a complete bug splat against the rock, he draws back his flail, and the fey is still managing to fly , weakly in place, though she looks quite damaged. Arwyn drags Caladan back onto the land, hairline cracks forming on the ice under them as they leave the frozen stream.
the green fairy withdraws, flying away sixty feet due north (mostly), waivering. she doesn't seem to be moving as fast as she did before.
the blue fairy buzzes a little closer to Gondork and Giacomo, a burst of light exploding from her hand in their faces, simultaniously making them fight off feeling sleepy, stunnded, and blind. The red fairy zooms after the green, catching up with her easily.

Round9______
Arwyn hustled over to where she dropped her bow, sheathing her shortsword along the way.
She picks it up and nocks an arrow, then looks for another target.
Perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (14) + 6 = 20
Griffin Master
the blue fairy is still visible. Gondork is toe to toe with its square, though it is nimble. the green one was the one heavily injured. the red fairy raced off after it, before the green one plummetted. you do see the red fairy intending to dip down. their glows are out, though the phony faries, dancing sparkles of light, remain stationary where they zoomed to when the first illusion was played.
Arwyn Fynolt
Arwyn took a snap shot at the blue fairy, as it was inside point blank range and she could barely make out the others through the swirling snowfall.
Longbow attack vs. Blue Fairy: 1d20 + 4 + 1 - 4 ⇒ (14) + 4 + 1 - 4 = 15 for a possible 1d8 ⇒ 2 piercing damage.
Griffin Master
you think the blue fairy gives you an obscene gesture, but she's fast and tiny, so its hard to be sure, as she zips off after the others, withdrawing from combat. Their lights dim as she zips into the forest, you imagine the red fairy flies off with the body of the green fairy. they're in a line of trees a hundred feet away, and you realize with this snow and the distance, there's no way you can catch up with them.
top of round 10. Caladan is conscious, just blinded and stunned for a round. he'll be just stunned next round
Caladan comes to as you're tending your wounds.
as you settle down, you realize there's still what look like legs sticking out of the snow across the frozen stream.
Gondork Ramcleft
Ugh... Damn fey. That snowman was creepy as hells. What would they be doing here, of all things? Do you think they've got something to do with the weather? I bet they've got something to do with those legs, too.

Crossing the stream proves a bit treacherous. cracks start to form beneath you, and your mailed leg punches through some thin ice, but you manage to catch yourself and fall flat, crawling shakily at the near miss. the ice bubbling in the current that still seems to be flowing beneath a few inches of ice.
when you get around to looking, you see the legs and feet of a frozen corpse jut from the pile of snow next to the trees here.
Arwyn Fynolt
After bandaging what wounds she has, Arwyn helps the others across with a skillful use of rope.
Once on the other side, she takes a moment to rest. Then she cautiously approached the legs of the corpse to get a better look.
With great skepticism, she muttered "Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice..."
Carefully she looked around for any swing traps.
Perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (2) + 6 = 8
Looking back at the corpse, she sighed.
"I suppose we have to check anyway." She said to her companions.
With some delicacy, she tied one end of her rope to one foot of the corpse, then retreated about twenty feet away before trying to pull it from the snow bank.
Strength check: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (7) + 2 = 9
Griffin Master
you manage to pull the body out of the snowdrift from a safe distance and nothing happens. you examine the body, and once you turn him over gasp in shock. Its Old Man Dansby. Stowed across his back like a soldier he's got a composite longbow (+1 strength pull) that's in good condition with 12 arrows; a dagger; a masterwork handaxe; and a pouch containing 14gp, 25sp, and 18 cp.
Giacomo Rumble
"Woo, that was an ordeal!" Giacomo puffs. "Stupid fey creatures attacking us for no reason. Why would they attack us like that?"
Giacomo looks at the ice warily.
"Er, guys? Could you help me across the river, please? I don't think I'm capable of getting myself out if I fall in there."
He dives in his backpack and finds some rope, then ties one end to himself.
"Gondork, would you mind holding this while I cross the stream? And please pull if I fall in!"
What do I have to roll to throw it across? Ranged attack? Acrobatics?
"Also, Gondork, I could've channeled to heal everyone, but you're already way over there, I can't reach you anymore."
Griffin Master
with rope and crossing carefully, you're fine. since gondork can catch the rope and anchor it, you won't have any trouble getting across. does anyone want to leave their rope set up for crossing? or will you take it all with you?
you all gather and ten minutes later are across the river, having examined the body, deciding what to do next
Giacomo Rumble
"Thanks for holding the rope, Gondork! I was sure I would've gone through the ice! Oh, let me do something about your injuries as well..."
Channel Energy: 1d6 ⇒ 4
Two channels used, 4 to go.
Arwyn Fynolt
"Hold on Giacomo!" She called out.
Arwyn rigged her rope to help pull all her companions to cross the frozen stream, then recovered her rope to stow in her pack.
Arwyn gasped at the sight of the corpses face and sat back.
"It's Old Man Dansby!" She said, shocked.
She sighed and briefly bowed her head.
"I'm sorry sir. Turns out, you were right."
Giacomo Rumble
Giacomo pats Arwyn on the back.
"Aw, I'm sorry, Arwyn. I'm sure the Elder will give a fine eulogy when we bury him. But right now we need to hurry, or who knows how many more will pass because of this weird weather."
Arwyn Fynolt
Arwyn nodded at Giacomo's words.
"He wasn't... an easy man to work around. Bitter and hard handed. But when he gave his word, it was worth your weight in gold."
She stooped and worked Dansby's bow around until she could pick it up.
Standing up, she brushed her hair back, wiped the snow off and inspected it closely, testing it's limbs for flexibility. She nodded, satisfied.
"I know he was a soldier when he was young. I think he would approve if we employed his weapons against who, or whatever it is that made this winter that killed him."
She turned to the others.
"Can anyone use a Longbow?" She asked, looking around at her companions.
Gondork Ramcleft
Dangit, paizo ate my post again
Loosening his muscles after getting healing from Giacomo, Gondork smiles a badly timed grin.
Ahh... much better. Back for round two!
As he walks over to Arwyn, he suspiciously eyes the surroundings.
I can. I don't trust these fey for one bit, however. They are probably thinking about how to get their revenge right now.
He takes the bow, testing it for a moment before slinging it over his shoulder.
I say we take the fight to them.
Caladan Brood
Slowly seeing what was going on around him he made his way towards the body of the human. Crounching down he said a small prayer over the man to ease his soul before slowly getting up again. "If needed be I can use the bow as well, but I am sure you can handle it fine Gondork..." Looking around he nodded to his companions as they made plans, testing his morningstar and shield once more. "Yes, let us go after the foul creatures who have done this..."
Griffin Master
you can tell a general direction the faeries flew off into, there's some trees 100 ft. north of you, staying on the east bank of the frozen river. Theres no shortage of trees that way, though the frozen stream keeps some line of sight open heading north. The bandit trail crosses the stream here, and heads south moving away from the riverbank.
The Big Picture you're at D now. A was where the wagons went off the road, B was where they set the trap for you. C was where you fought the tatzelwyrm and camped, where you saw the talking white stag. D is the stream where the ice elementals and faeries attacked you.
