Yahirma |

Isandra tuts at her infernal child as it tries to scratch her. Noticing it is getting frightfully close to clawing her once more, she focuses her power of Misfortune on it.
Claw re-roll 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5
She will then step to K5 and attempt to aid Appario's attack.
1d20 + 2 ⇒ (19) + 2 = 21
+2 to Appario's next attack with an additional +2 for flanking.
If anyone's particularly hurt, I can look into lending a hand. Just send a signal.

DM Are |

If I've managed to keep proper tabs, Yahirma is currently the most injured PC with 8 damage. Derek has 7 damage and Maddok has 3 damage. In addition, Appario and Maddok each has 2 CON damage.
Sliding on its own half-formed flesh, Ilsandra's child misses with an attack that seemed sure to hit her.
Up next: Derek.

Derek Keegan |

Derek decides to let Larazod fight like he would, reckless and with style, thus he dances around his child with nimble dexterity, then, as the befuddled lemure tries to follow he dances back again.
As soon as he is in position he raises his rapier, elbow against his chest, the pommel touching his forehead and the point down towards the foe.
He quickly strikes out and then resumes a defensive position.
Derek moves to L7, and then right back to N7, using mobility. He then attacks using combat expertise.

Screeching in pain, Derek's Lemure retaliates, dealing 3 damage to him. The Lemure between Appario and Yahirma gets off two ineffective strikes before being vanquished by Appario's fine strike. The last Lemure appears in front of Semenya, but fails to hit its "mother".

Drovalid cracks his illusionary whip twice more in the air to further inflame the crowd.
The giant torturer looks down at the new demon-child threatening Detris and growls savagely before laying into it.

Semenya continues to use the wand of Magic Missile at the Lemure:
1d4 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2 She will also back up 5' away from the Lemure towards the top of the map - I do not know what is and is not difficult terrain, so will leave exact position to Are.

Derek Keegan |

Yes, but my trait, threatening defender reduces the attack penalty by one for using the feat. Come to think of that, it was the previous Dm that ok that trait, is it ok if I keep it?
Derek, despite there being no need dances around the Lemure once more, weaving, dodging and then striking out once more.

Yahirma |

Isandra meets Tybain's eyes and motions towards Larazod and his lemure. She then pleads ground-words and calls out "Asmodeus! Iuin se ou tamtorak tou shantokar!" as she casts Cure Light Wounds (holding the charge for next round).
Yahirma will throw misfortune at the next lemure that hits one of us.

DM Are |

Ah, I see. No, the trait is fine. I did check out all of the traits back when I took over, but I suppose one does forget some things after 6 months :)
Semenya: nothing on the stage itself (H3-Q7) is difficult terrain, but the entire line from H2 to Q2 is the rear curtain; going behind that means leaving the stage, and can't be done as a 5-ft step. So, any 5-ft step Semenya can take would still leave her next to the Lemure, unless Maddok moves. Staying where she is leaves the path open for Maddok to move and her to get away next turn.
Maddok lays it into Dentris's Lemure, which combined with Semenya's magic missile makes it look even more miserable and wretched than before. Derek's dancing looks impressive, until he misses with the actual strike.
Claw AoO #1 (vs Derek): 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (11) + 2 = 13

Claw damage #4 (vs Semenya): 1d4 ⇒ 4
Misfortune reroll: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4
Semenya's Lemure still fails to hit her, while Derek's Lemure was about to hit a perfect strike when one of its body's constant reformings caused a leg to shorten just enough for the Lemure to stumble and fail miserably instead.
Up next: The PCs.

Appario Lind |

Tybain ponders a dramatic bow, mid combat, but forgoes that for the moment and instead moves to M6 to aid Derek.
Striking at Lemure #3, Tybain tries to cut so viciously with his blade that the ichor and gore spray reaches 3 rows in to the audience.
1d20 + 6 + 1 ⇒ (20) + 6 + 1 = 27 to hit;
1d10 + 4 + 1 ⇒ (10) + 4 + 1 = 15 damage.

I don't think that does it. Anyhoot...maybe spray over the orchestra and hitting the shoes of the first row.
Tybain will spin so hard from his swing that he will fall to the ground (free action).

Appario's powerful strike lops whatever passes for a head off the Lemure, sending it in a fine loop over the head of the orchestra and rolling towards the first row, where several noblewomen let out involuntary screams and try to move away as the head rolls closer. The head and the rest of the Lemure's body vanish just as it's about to hit an expensive-looking dress.
Semenya's missile puts the final nail in the coffin of the last Lemure, and Maddok's boot trample the remains into the ground.
The audience erupts in applause as all five companions still remain alive and victorious, and the curtain is drawn for the Act.

Yahirma - Perform (oratory) for +2 bonus: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (5) + 8 = 13
Thesing: 1d20 + 18 ⇒ (7) + 18 = 25
Thesing is back to his usual superior self, even though Yahirma's performance as Ilsandra outshone him this time. He seems to eagerly await the unleashing of the legions of Hell to come in the next Act.
The duration of the enlarge person spell runs out during the 5-minute break between acts.
***
The sixth Act, and the final Act scheduled to involve dangers, begins with Haanderthan lamenting the failure of his Trials privately to the audience, and for the first time expressing the notion of doubt.
"How can this be? Four trials broken, and still they
prevail. Asmodeus smiles upon them. Does the Dark Lord
truly know of my compact with the Abyss? It cannot be, or
I am utterly undone. True or nay, I must try the last. I shall
plunge their faith in pitch and acrid stew, and see if they
hold to the cause."
Turning back to Larazod and his companions, Haanderthan continues to accuse them of everything he can think of.
"You sickly whelps profess undying
devotion to one another. Another smoldering lie flung from
your dark holes. You but conspire to confound this court and
our Dark Majesty. ’Tis ye who contract with demon-spawn
and seek my undoing, in service to some slimy mistress or
master of the putrid Abyss. Your vile benefactors have thus
far warded off justice’s dark hand, but let us see if you hold
steadfast before the promise of oblivion."

Appario Lind |

During the break, Tybain will tend to his new sword and marvel at the heft and balance.
Overcome with happiness, he will give Maddok/Drovalid a big man hug to show his appreciation again.
"The sword was unstoppable! It is amazing work, Master Maddok, I can't thank you enough. You have honored me and this stage with your craftsmanship."
Tybain will take a minute to clean off the sword and prepare for the next act. This time he will don his shield, no longer will it decorate his back with the symbols of Aroden. He will wear it on his arm, proudly.

Maddok |

The big smith smiles a bit at Appario's glee, "And you wield her well", he agrees. "But we have one more challenge to overcome and I believe it's the most deadly".
Still looking pale from the injuries he sustained from the rotgrub Maddok draws and sucks down one of his potions as he prepares for the final trial. CLW Potion - 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2

Drovalid stands by in stoic silence as the others trade nervous banter.
He interrupts confessing his admiration for his companions and his commitment to their cause.
"Enough. It is time. I am not long of your company, but
know that I would stand by you all through six hundred
trials. Take hands with me, half-breed. My sins and yours
are one. Our destinies intertwine, and I walk your path
with you to the bitter burning end".
***
At Ilsandra's blantant flirtations Drovalid smiles sadly.
"You do me sweet honor, great lady. I stand in awe of
your passion, and these worthy nobles’ unshakable
courage. Even this milksop of a pall-o-dine stands
hard against the torments of Hell—harder than
the fiercest witch".
After delivering his final line the torturer unfurls his whip and turns to face the approaching legion.
Nearing the end of the speaking parts of the act Maddok will invoke the spirit's protection.

Offstage,Tybain will approach Larazod to see how he is holding up.
"Der-, uh, Larazod, how are you holding up? How well do you think we are doing? Any last thoughts before we hit the final acts? Do you think the audience likes us?"
Tybain is a little excited, both to be alive, but also to not be dead *and* almost done with this.
* * *
Approaching Yahirma, he will also check on her condition.
"Yahir-urm, Ilsandra, I have known you but two weeks, but I must say that I have already felt your calming influence this day repeated. Your 'charm' seems to keep me strong when other times I might have doubt or sickness. Thank you."
Tybain smiles broadly.
We're almost done with this farce!

Derek Keegan |

"We are one step away now, this is where we pull out all the stops, use whatever resources you have left. Use whatever spells you can to increase your combat potential, heal yourselves up fully, using potions now rather than spells. The extra time drinking a potion can take can be detrimental on stage."
"We are going to face the hordes now...whatever that is, but I would think it is going to be the biggest threat yet.
"I'm sure we have won the audiences approval by now, and poor old Thesing, what a disappointment it must be for him to still have to share the stage with us."
"Come on; let's finish this in style, for us, for grandfather, for Maddoks lady, and to really rub it in Thesings face."
Derek grins at Apario.
"And yes, for fun and profit as well."
Smiling at Maddok he gives him a clap on his back.
"Come on big brother, time to give the audience the poetry of battle! Broken bones, shattered limbs, trials of life and death, mortal combat at its finest. You are a warrior poet; show those milksops what it is all about."
After that he grins at Yahrima and Semenya.
"Don't tell anyone, but it's a womans world out there, time to show them who is on top and who should have stayed at home."

DM Are |

Yahirma gave Derek a cure light wounds spell for 7 hits points restored at the end of the previous act, which means the first potion cures him fully. However, the second potion heals exactly enough to put Yahirma on full hit points as well. Assuming Derek gives that potion to her, everyone is at full hit points except Maddok who has taken 1 damage (plus the CON damage for Maddok and Appario).

Semenya Carbachon |

"This trial irks me mightily; we gallavant on stage when we should be uprooting the weeds that choke Westcrown."
She holds out the scrolls of Magic Weapon. "I've these yet, if we need to strike at things that are incorporeal in what is to come, but they do not last long. Appario, I can do for you what I did to Maddok in the last act. Let me know if there is need."
With that, she casts message between herself, Derek, Appario and Maddok. Before the curtain goes up, she'll cast Resistance on everyone for a +1 Saving Throw bonus.
She'll have her potion of Shield of Faith in hand ready to drink if needed; +2 to AC when consumed.
"I've three spells left - if what we face can be burned, my ire is great. And encompassing."

Yahirma |

Wiping the blood off of herself from the previous act, Yahirma smiles and gives friendly, smiling nods of appreciation to those offering kind words.
"I am pleased to know the charm treats you so well, Appario Lind. Its enchantment remains strong while the debts I can call upon the spirits to honor today grow fewer in number. I may have to dedicate myself to acting as much as participating in combat, should they decide I have been too demanding."
Massaging a shoulder, she winks at the group - a gesture she's only recently learned from hanging around actors like Derek - and remarks "My lines get even more suggestive this act. Don't let them distract you from the task at hand."
"That said, Derek, after slipping around in the beast's belly, there are plenty of things I'd like to rub in Thesing's face. Let's give the crowd something to cheer about."
She will then offer about ten seconds of prayer and blessing for each actor before re-entering the stage.
I'd say that it's most realistic to maintain three Guidances: Maddok, Appario, and Derek. Proactively trade it in for a +1 to one d20 roll.
Back on stage, Isandra pulls out all of the stops in praising her brave and handsome companions. She drapes herself across Larazod's chest, proclaiming:
"I am yours for one thousand blissful years. Drink my
sizzling blood from my wrist, or anywhere else you like—
let us seal this sinful compact and consummate our love
in the heat of battle."
Likewise, she issues encomium about Drovalid:
"Great Tormentor, Drovalid Vorclune, let it be said a man
who can bear the vicious ministrations he renders upon
his foes is a great man indeed. Though I am pledged to
this young half-breed, know your courage sends shudders
through my loins."
As I said, she's letting herself go a bit. She will also use her 1/day skill boost on this Act's acting check, which boosts her modifier by +10. Brace yourself, Thesing...
HP: 18/18
Spells: 2 left out of 7 - when the poo hits the fan, let me know if you'd benefit significantly from Protection from Evil. Otherwise it's likely going into Cure Light Wounds.

Thesing's Haanderthan, eyes blazing with jealousy after seeing Yahirma's Ilsandra draped around Derek's Larazod, inserts himself into the professions of love and loyalty.
"How touching. These sentiments of yours are nothing
but dreamy clouds, soon to be shred by Asmodeus’s
blasting winds."
***
After the remaining dialogue, Haanderthan raises his arms, and the rear curtain falls away. Behind it is revealed a second stage, consisting of a dreary hellscape surrounding a swirling portal. Two giant skeletons stand in front of the portal as if guarding it.
As Thesing makes his exit from the stage, the portal blazes as if on fire, and through it steps a creature wielding a viciously saw-toothed glaive. The creature's long beard twitches as it moves forward. The two large skeletons look back at the bearded devil, who stretches out one arm and points its glaive towards Larazod. The skeletons begin marching forward.

Since the PCs have already faced numerous skeletons, they already know essentially everything about them. Feel free to check out the Bestiary or PRD for whatever information you need on skeletons.
This is a bearded devil, a lawful evil extraplanar creature.
As with most devils, it's immune to fire and poison, resistant to acid and cold, and most easily harmed by good or silver weapons.
When it harms a foe with its glaive, the wound continues to bleed freely and becomes more difficult to heal with magic.
As above, plus:
If the bearded devil attacks a foe with its claws, and hits with both, it also lashes that foe with its filthy spiked beard. The beard carries the devil chills disease, victims of which find their strength sapped from them.
In addition, the bearded devil is resistant to the magic of spells.
Up first: Maddok, Appario, and Yahirma.

Appario Lind |

Walking back on stage, Tybain has a bounce in his step.
He joyfully gives his lines for the act.
"Dentris, you old cur, dog curled by your master’s feet. I can’t call you friend, but a truer servant I’ve never known. Loyalty is the mark of greatness. Know that my sword is yours even as your spells bend to Larazod’s cause. We stand as one, and we always shall."
However, that joy fades as the devil appears.
Tybain is very happy to turn away from the audience to face his foes as the fear in his face was unnerving, even to himself.
Those are big skeletons. I hate skeletons.
Tybain nervously pats his waist as if to be sure his morningstar is there. It is. Still his confidence has faded.

Unleashing his usual warcry, "Aroden will live *FOREVER*!", Tybain will move to K3 and engage skeleton #1 while pulling out his morningstar.

Maddok stares in disbelief as the final challenge comes into view. These horrors are anything unlike anything the Shoanti had ever faced before but when he looks to his companions and he thinks of his Vahnwynne he finds his resolve. As she skids to a halt next to, she whips the staff towards the towering skeleton (Ogre 2) with a shout of "Mekorate, shotoish kame!". A spray of salt flecks the animated bones, bringing them to a halt.
Yahirma uses Reminder of Death, a juju oracle ability that mimics Halt Undead. Assuming the skeleton is mindless, it receives no saving throw against the effect. It will be freed of the effect once it is attacked or takes damage.

Wow. Lots of stuff that I didn't expect in that round. @DM Are: I don't think I'm large yet. @Semenya: Targetting is done at spell completion (finish at start of your next turn) so you can choose other targets. If it matters, it's also a close range spell.
Tybain bleeds.
Maddok, are you nuts!? He's become a devil himself! Tybain thinks as Drovalid grapples the freakin' bearded devil.

Hoping that Drovalid has the devil well in hand, Isandra slips past the giant skeleton to place a hand on the torturer's shoulder. In a somewhat atypical show of alignment-based casting, the erinyes favors Drovalid with Protection from Evil.

I was certain enlarge person was a standard action to cast. My memory fails again :(
Since protection from evil's barrier extends to 1 ft, and Maddok is currently grappling the bearded devil, I'll say the protection from bodily contact ends immediately. The rest of the protection from evil spell functions normally.
Appario's new sword finds devilish flesh, leaving a large gash in the creature's side, although the wound doesn't appear to be immediately life-threatening. As Appario lays a hand on his own wound, the bleeding slows to a trickle and the burning sensation ends.

"This is true might born; show them that no mere legion of hell can withstand the truth of our conviction!"
Derek begins to sing a battle hymn.

Semenya will switch that Enlarge Person to Maddok, so he can continue to do All Hell Wrestling League Championship, and because Appario doesn't apparently want it...
Justification for giving it to Appario is that it shifts Extortion's damage to 2d8+4 for base damage and strength... I can do that later if needed - it also makes it easier to flank, given the reach it grants.
Semenya will use her move action to move to N5, and cast Magic Missile on the devil.
1d4 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3 Damage 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6 Caster Level Check
1d4 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3 Damage 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (10) + 3 = 13 Caster Level Check

DM Are - one thing to keep in mind with grappling: Creatures who do not have two hands free are at -4 to their CMB to try and break free of a grapple. If the bearded devil wants to drop his glaive, I'm SURE that someone here will be happy to make sure it's handed off to coat check...and Maddok gets a +5 on his roll to maintain the grapple next round.

Thanks for the Enlarge!
Drovalid once again grows to even more heroic proportions. Wrapping his massive limbs around the creature's arms he pins them its sides. The mighty sinews along the torturer's back and shoulders swell with power as he leans back hoisting his opponent into the air.
Grapple to Pin
1d20 + 10 + 1 + 1 + 5 ⇒ (7) + 10 + 1 + 1 + 5 = 24
The big Shoanti's body trembles with the effort, the limits of his strength truly being put to the test. Only 3 rage rounds remaining.
