Here I am. Downloaded Unchained over the weekend and utilized the free rebuild on Darius. Really excited for it. I made sure not to play Darius since the announcement, so he's in the clear. I need to pick a 4th level rogue talent. Leanimf towards the one where I can make all knowledge checks untrained.
If Nicloae and Darius can get some flanking going on, watch the heck out! I gain access to debilitating injuries at this level. I know Slayers gain sneak dice too (maybe other benefits too?), so I'm hoping we don't find loads of oozes, etc.!
I need to print chronicles, figure out where I stand on GP. I will be looking to buy things, probably try to boost AC, enchant a weapon, buy consumables, etc.

So, everyone looks like there characters are in order. I just look through, see if I have any questions and a quick spot check. (The "X's" where just my way of noting I've checked.) The rest I basically leave up to the honor system, figuring people are going to find ways to cheat if they want to cheat. :)
So, with that in mind, I'm going to go ahead and open up the Recruitment thread and ask for a bit more information for Chronicle Sheets and Reporting info, and then shortly I'll go ahead and kick off the game.

Yea I run everything through Herolab. Hard to mess anything up with it :)

Purchases to include an Oil of Bless Weapon and one of Magic Weapon (100 GP total).
It seems that endure elements can be a potion, no?
Or maybe we can borrow Caith's wand if Kylar wouldn't mind casting it for us. Each casting is good for 24 hours, so we ought to be able to get pretty far with one wand.

Just wanted to say Im pretty sick, so the game may slow down the next few days. Hard time concentrating. :(

I just wanted to point this out incase anyone else is interested:
** The Unofficial Official Response on PbP Gameday IV, PbP VLs, and TLaPD 2015 **
PbP Talk Like a Pirate Day will start on Saturday, September 19th, 2015 and run through Saturday, October 17th, 2015.
GMs can run any Pirate(ish) themed PFS scenario, or the Pirate themed PFS sanctioned APs. There will be booty.... errrrr.... boons and prizes.
[There will also be a VTT TLaPD Gameday(s) September 19th-20th, 2015 to correspond with the PbP kickoff.]
The game submission deadline for GMs running anything for TLaPD will be August 22nd, 2015 (To get scenario support). Submission form will be included in official announcement later.
We originally planned on PbP Gameday IV starting in July, 2015. Dunwich directives from the elder gods (see previous post) drove us to postpone that until after GenCon 2015.
Due to the way scenario support for gamedays/cons is issued, the earliest available start date after GenCon 2015 would be Saturday, August 29th, 2015.
Since that date is right before TLaPD, what we are going to do is start the gameday with TLaPD, and then run the full gameday for 2 months past the end of PbP TLaPD.
(The side-effect/benefit of the delay will be that the PaizoCon/GenCon materials will be opened up at that point for the PbP gameday.)
The deadline for GMs running anything for PbP Gameday IV will also be August 22nd, 2015.
There will be an official post for the Gameday coming soon.
Now, that all being said, (it looks like it was pushed back a second time), there is more that hasn't been announced about this Game Day just yet.

I just wanted to say that I am in fact going out to the field for about a week. I've been told that there will be internet access out there, so I should be able to continue to post, but there is always a chance that this was false. So just a heads up, it may be slow or paused for a bit starting Monday.
Darius Marel
|
Sorry for dropping off there. I forgot that I wouldn't have wifi where I was staying Sunday night thru Wednesday, and since then I've been unpacking from my trip and starting a mini media fast with my wife. I'll try to be more responsible with checking in, but will have limited posting this coming week as well.
DM Beckett
|
I'll try to post again tonight before I head out, but last minute packing, needing to record another podcast episode, and housework's been keeping me tied up.
DM Beckett

Sorry everyone. I do have internet, but have just been so busy and can't seem to tether my computer, so its been difficult. I will try to post today.
Kylar Drugo

We will be here :) No worries.
DM Beckett

Ok, I will be home tomorrrow and able to post regularly again. I apologize for the delay.

No problem. I also had a few bad days, so I understand it perfectly.
One thing, you write I posted, but I only make the perception check, no movement and no attack. Any problem if I move and cast a spell?

Posting this in all my games:
Due to a variety of circumstances and reasons, I am resigning my spot in all games effective immediately. I apologize for any inconvenience caused by this, and wish you all the best for continued gaming fun.
DM Beckett

Not a problem, and I hope everything is ok. You have made it far enough to get full credit for this one, so I'll include you and see if you need to bow out of part three.
If there is anything I can do, let me know.
Garret C.

Two things:
@DM Bckett, are we still using endure elements each day or can I change the spell?
@Kylar, I´ve seen you want to buy an Ioun torch. If you can wait until the end of the adventure, I can cast Continual Flame on a dull gray ioun stone: You´ll pay the same, but it will be a level 3 light spell so it´ll be better against the darkness spell.

At everyone, I am in the military, and I just found out today that I will be going out into the field starting tomorrow night and going all the way to the 22nd, which is actually a few days after the Game Day is scheduled to begin. I apologize. IF I have internet access via my phone, I can start the game on time. But I honestly do not know if I will or not, and I can not make any promises until I actually get out there.
There is also the possibility that I will be back a little earlier. We need to wait and see, and if I am able to, I will certainly keep everyone in the loop. I do know that at least one of those days will be a 24 hour duty day, so even if I can connect with my phone, I will not be able to post.
Again, I apologize in advance, and worst case scenario we will just start a few days late.

You never need to apologize for serving your country.
No worries here. Be safe and we will see you when we see you. :-)
Thanks

Ok, it turns out I didn't go, and finally got a bit of rest. So, I'll be picking this back up today.

If anyone is interested, we are looking for 1 or 2 more players for a Traitor's Lodge game. I believe it is 3-7 off the top of my head, and is a Game Day 4 Game.
Kylar Drugo

Is this one nearing the end? I have Kylar signed up for a game starting real soon and just need to know if I need to pull him to put in a different character?
DM Beckett

Sorry, I had hoped to finish it a few days ago, but family showed up unexpectently. I just finished it up, and am working on reporting now.

If it helps, everyone gets 1 XP, 2PP, 1910+Day Job GP, and the following Boons:
Scholar of Ashkurhall (Grand Lodge faction only): Studying the murals of Ashkurhall opened your subconscious
mind to ancient dwarven secrets. Whenever you are examining architecture, objects, or writing of dwarven
origin, you either gain a +1 bonus on any Appraise, Knowledge, or Linguistics check involved, or you can
substitute your Perception or Sense Motive bonus for the check. You can cross this boon of your Chronicle
sheet as a free action in order to apply its beneits when examining architecture, objects, or writing of any origin
for the duration of the scenario.
Sky Key Component (Sargava): You have recovered one of the ive lost components of the strange relic known
as the Sky Key. This piece once belonged to Sigrin, who founded the now abandoned settlement of Ashkurhall
in the Bandu Hills.
Stinkeye’s Friend: Playing with a domesticated basilisk has taught you to be careful around creatures with
gaze attacks. When you are subjected to a gaze attack, you can cross this boon of your Chronicle sheet to gain a
+4 insight bonus on a saving throw to avoid the gaze’s efects.
Vanei’s Friend: You have befriended Vanei Thaskin, who now works as an informant for the Pathinder
Society. Once per scenario, you can recall information Vanei provided in order to reroll a failed Bluf, Diplomacy,
or Knowledge check pertaining to the Aspis Consortium. If the second check fails, cross this boon of your
Chronicle sheet; your reckless use of Vanei’s information has compromised her cover and led to her capture.
Plus the option to buy a unique, upgradable Aspis Bane Longsword.

Ok. Wow, that took a bit. I find it a bit odd, I ran both the higher and lower tier simultaneously, and it seemed the lower tier game went by faster, and I'm not sure why. I mean, I know a few reasons, and as a lower tier game, didn't have to deal with some of the same threats. They where also a lot less interested in in the story and lore.
Something I like to do is open the floor to everyone for evaluation and criticism. Good or bad. I'm not looking for a pat on the back, but rather ways I can improve.
One thing I can not do much to help is avoid some of the times where I am unable to post. I'm in the military, and now getting ready to deploy, and there are just times when I can not post for a day or two. Outside of that, I try to post at least daily when I can, but I also try to give everyone a chance to act or post, too. Now, that being said, I do realize that this took 4-5 months to complete, (even for a three part series), and that's a little longer than I like.
So, if anyone has anything they want to through out, things they liked, things they didn't like, questions, something they would have preferred I did instead, anything, feel free.
It's not going to hurt my feelings or make me not want to run for anyone in the future, but it might help me to improve for future games.

Great job really. I am just starting to run the trilogy and hoping to model most off this game. Although mine is low tier and I can see how it is faster. I like the monster mix in high tier better.
Thanks for a good run. I think Roderick levels.

Thanks for a good run. I think Roderick levels.
One thing thing they did at the start of this last part was roll like 20 Disable Device checks, which kind of irked me, as they just wanted to blast through all the traps without caring of the significance.
It sort of felt like, here are our next 10 attack rolls, let's just say we win all combats and not worry about tactics or placement.
I enjoyed running for this group more than the other, more feedback, interaction, and discussion.
While I'm not sure I could do another trilogy just yet, ha, ha, I'd be willing to run another game if anyone wants.

No critism here.
It took me a bit of getting used to you using italics for the summary of the actions because I'm used to thinking of italics as "thoughts" in pbp but that might be just personal conditioning on my part.
Depending on what scenario I'd be game
Roderick Xim

Roderick is available and interested. We could even record it as a GD4 since there is still time.

I enjoyed a lot this trilogy, it hasn´t feel long for me. If it´s because of the interaction with the scenarios why it has last more, is ok for me.
I liked how you run the Tyranosauros chase, asking for all the rolls together make that part faster. And the only thing I can think of being faster is when you asked for time to see how you where going to do run every chamber, knowing it beforehand will have mean this last a few days less (but I know that things happen in pbp, at least when I run a game).
Garret is also available and interested.

One question regarding Faction cards, does the final enemy count as <<divine spellcaster whose patron is an evil deity and whose Challenge rating is at least "5">>. You said his leader is some sort of priests, so there are posibilities ;D
DM Beckett
|
He was an Inquisitor, so a Divine Caster, and his Patron was evil, and his CR was exactly 5.
Looks good.
