Right, that's what I thought. I was trying to see if I could tell why she suddenly stopped her sentence. Was she stopped by someone or did she catch herself for speaking?

Bizzle is going to cast Detect Magic in the area, not caring if he is conspicuous or not as he is a gnome.

I understand you are a bit confused, but that is partially intentional. It's unclear if she is trying to hide something or not. You are not sure what that returned message was. A snippet of something? A code? A cut off response. You don't know. Either she is great at concealing her intentions and catching herself or something else is happening you can't see. I'm not trying to be mean, but I can't tell more because you simply do not know it. You do, assuming within range, detect magic auras in the area.

Now, that being said, is anyone going to do anything? If not I'll fast forward.

If no other ideas are presented, Fendahl approaches the woman and simply states.

As Fendahl begins to approach her, she clearly begins to get a bit nervous looking down the street a bit while keeping an eye on the approaching Pathfinder. Suddenly, from far back, Bizzle notices a new aura enter his area, but doesn't have time to discern anything about it before loosing it once again, but it becomes very clear mere seconds later when a man, flying 40ft up suddenly seems to appear out of nowhere and sends a small glowing magical bead a few feet in front of Basalte. It lands in perfect silence, but right afterwards is followed with a loud sucking explosion as the fireball hits the ground.

She doesn't seem at all surprised, though clearly a bit relieved.

Sounds good on all accounts. I'll say it takes you 20 mins to get her back tot he Lodge, explain the situation, and then head out to your next location. Specific times are not really given for travel, and while there is a map, it's not particularly helpful without any accounting on traffic or impediments. However, something does potentially happen upon leaving the Lodge. So, any buffs still going after 20 mins are still going.

It's been a little over 20 mins, so that's probably gone. Anything lasting 30 mins or more is still up though. You have also had plenty of time to heal up.

I'm going to say yes. The scenario doesn't at all give time frames or even close indications, but as you are traveling all over the city, and stopping back at the Lodge, it seems fair to assume that this has taken most of the day. Trust me, as a Cleric player, I understand that PFS hates buffs. When I played Masters of the Fallen Fortress I got, literally, between 0 and 1 round of every single spell I cast the entire game.

Are there civilians and such in the area we need to worry about keeping safe?

And yes, what's it take to gain some elevation?

Noisy curses colorfully as he takes the full brunt of the fiery attack.

"Now that's not even remotely sociable!" He shouts upwards, as he starts to beat out another rhythm.

Move action, Inspire Courage to all. +2 to hit and damage (and on saves vs charm and fear), as per usual. Unsure if this would apply to Fendahl's attacks ... as initiative order technically puts him after Noisy.

He then segues the beat into a more upbeat tune, and says some arcane words, and steps towards the nearest cover.

Cast blindness on the flying fellow. DC 17 Fortitude negates.

You can climb to the roof with a DC 10 -15 check depending on if you go to a corner with two surfaces or a straight wall. But that will get you up 10 to 15ft at best, while he is currently flying 40ft. As for civilians, there are not many at this hour. . The fireball did kill a few just because of its area, but nothing that can be done about that.

True, but I didn't recall her HP or AC off the top of my head, and not all of those crits may have landed. Okay, a lot going on, so I need to work this through in steps real fast.

Shadow Lodge

The fireball lands, catching most full on in it's inferno. Right afterwards, the young Mwangi woman rushes at the party, calling for her mage lover to kill you quickly, likely to avoid getting caught, and then rushes at Fend, the closest target and one that's all alone with hopes of killing him before reinforcements come to his aid, and nearly does.

For the Haste boost, I was going to have it kick in on your turn, (to keep it sort of simple), essentially swapping your init after, so it would have jumped in Round two, but that's now basically irrelevant.

Bizzle, the Gnomish-Fey Sorcerer is first to react, and calls on time itself to aid the party. From the rear, the boisterous gun-fighter tries to curse the mage, making him see nothing but blackness, but isn't able to overcome his natural resistance to such tampering, and he shakes the spell off.

Fort: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (17) + 5 = 22

It seems like everyone swarms the Mwangi woman, killing her and, just for good measure, cracking her ancient traditional spear. The mage, whom she seemed to care about, looks on without showing any signs of caring, taking an arrow from the elf woman.

Calling on his magic once more, the Mage simply vanishes from view.

Seeing the woman drop, Fendahl will turn his attention to the mage.

"We must try to locate him quickly, lest he escape justice."

He will immediately cast faerie fire in the place he last saw the mage, and whether that is successful or not, will drop his katana and draw his longbow.

Kirrah the lioness will continue towards the last known location of the mage and try to locate him with scent, unless he is visible.

If the mage is outlined/visible and still 40' up and Kirrah is 10-15' up...potentially enough to try and charge/jump/pounce, depending on the location. +24 jump with run/haste...a stretch, but not out of the question.

If you ready an action to shoot, you will only get one arrow. Otherwise, if you take a full round action, you get your main shot, your rapid shot, your haste shot and any iterative shot(s). So sometimes it is better to delay than to ready .

The Faerie Fire fails to reveal anything in that area, and neither of the pets detect him either (I'm assuming it's neither up or downwind here), indicating he either moved higher, or is just outside of their range.

OK, no target...

Noisy starts to move along the roadway, unslinging his musket as he goes. He stops beating out the tempo he started only moments before, but the rhythm still lingers in everyone's bones.

Ceasing to maintain inspire courage, but its effects will still linger for 2 more rounds.

Holding the firearm parallel to his face, barrel pointed up, he starts to whisper at it, almost caressing it as he does so. Which is all strange, given you've never heard the dwarf 'whisper' anything.

His eyes never leave the sky over his head as he does so.

Single move to current location, then ready an action should the invisible caster fellow reveal himself (most likely by casting a spell on us 8( )

Readied Action:

If he does, then the action will be to unload both barrels into him as a single attack, using a grit point to fire vs touch into further range increments if neccessary and spending another grit point to add his charisma bonus to damage for the round.
As well, he will use the conductive property on his gun to channel a use of weird words along with the first bullet.
Should be a lovely cacophony of sound!

Am assuming he will be outside 30' so no Point Blank Shot... if this proves in error, add 1 to all attack and damage rolls
Barrel 1: Ranged Touch: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (9) + 10 = 19, for 1d12 + 8 ⇒ (1) + 8 = 9 damage plus an additional 4d6 + 5 + 2 ⇒ (6, 6, 2, 3) + 5 + 2 = 24 sonic damage.

You should probably add that to your character sheet then. :P Didn't know if Unchained Monks lost it.

After the mage becomes unseen, things seem silent for a few moments, allowing Basalte to gain the ability to take to the air (and Bane to hold onto him?), while others make ready to fire if he returns.

Fendahl will start to cast a spell.

spellcraft:

NG Dwarf Bard 11 / Gunslinger 1

holding pattern... bah, get on with it already! =)

Do we hear him casting?

I take the fact we're still waiting around means he's just buffing the crap out of himself, or he left...

Not seeing their elusive foe, Noisy relaxes briefly, and takes a moment to cast a spell.

Casting Heroism on himself

He then goes right back to scanning the skies for the mage.

Scarab Sages

Basalte, Male Oread Fighter (Unbreakable) 4, Bloodrager 2, Living Monolith 10, Unchained Monk 1 | HP 219/219 | AC: 34 T:19 FF:34 CMD: 39 (+1 AC/saves when FF/surprised, +4 CMD vs BRush/Trip, +2 vs Sunder) | DR 3/- | 30% fortification | F+25 R+15 W+15 (+3 vs Mind-Aff; +2 vs Death, Fear) | Init +2 | Perc +27 (Darkvision, Tombsight, Tremorsense)

Basalte ascends in the air, rising to the sky with his massive falchion drawn, waiting for the mage to reveal himself.

Move, then ready an attack should the mage reappear within my reach (10 feet). Bane, if you'd like to hop on Basalte's back (given that he's large), feel free to do so.

Pretty much. It's what the tactics say, except his next spell, and I'm kind of suck doing what it says unless you do something that would make him change it. Unfortunately, he is a smart character and can see basically everything that you are doing. The Glitterdust/Faerie Fire idea was a good one, but, as he 3D Flying, it's going to be very hard to pick the right area. However, he is still on the map, so if you do hit his area, you hit his area fair and square. He has not left, or I would not have let you waste your abilities. This is not even the boss fight. But, as you have not hit the conditions specified in his tactics, I have to go with what it says. Probably would have been best to cast fly on one of the pets with scent. :( I am trying to nudge things towards faster paced, but I also can't just let you kill him because he's a challenge.

let me know if Fendahl is interrupted. Otherwise a dire bat is going to be summoned and see if that helps.

I do not foresee him being interrupted, and that's pretty amazing, actually.

The large dire bat appears 40' up, close to where the wizard was last seen. If it detects Fendahl's enemy, it will attack.

"Seek and destroy!"

Blindsense extends 40' out from the bat...so it covers a good chunk of the map, but not all (see purple outline)

The dire bat will fly west then northwest, searching for the wizard.

Fendahl picks up his bow and readies to shoot, should the mage appear or the bat find a target.

Kirrah will continue west, along the rooftops.

Suddenly he appears, attempting to cast another massive blast just before the dire bat coms close, but before he can utter the final words of the spell, is annihilated by multiple ranged attacks, falling as if to his knees, but still born aloft on the wings of magic. His body takes a moment to slowly fall to the ground.

He was going to cast Solid Fog next, as per the tactics, but he himself can't see through it, and would then have needed to resort to a 15ft range Burning Hands, which would have been odd, at best. So, with the Dire Bat, I figured I'd speed the inevitable. Otherwise, Fireball, Invisibility, Solid Fog, Burning Hands x like 10.

On him, you find an assortment of magical gear for the taking: Potion of Cure Moderate Wounds, Scroll of See Invisibility, Scrolls of Summon Monster II (2) Cloak of Resistance +1, Headband of Alluring Charisma +2, & a Ring of Protection +1.

On the young, and very dead young woman, you also find a few more things of interest: Potion of Cure Moderate Wounds, +1 Chain Shirt, +1 spear, Masterwork Javelins (3), Ring of Protection +1, & a Cloak of Resistance +1. In addition, you also locate a small handwritten note, appearing to be a love letter, with direction to meat at the Ankh and Serpent Embalming House. The same place you had already planned on investigating. Sounds like you where right after all.

Located near the Necropolis of the Faithful. The embalming house is a single-story stone building just outside the massive necropolis. Hanging on the front door, which is chained shut, you see a multilingual sign proclaiming the store closed for renovations. It appears to have been placed here long ago, as the sign and the writing are both faded and sun-bleached.

Busting in, there are several dusty, sheet-covered chairs and a grimy, low table to one side of this unswept room. Signs of recent passage are visible between the two doorways leading from this room. Inside, there are no light sources, meaning you may need to provide your own.

At the end of the small room you see a door leading further into the building. Opening it reveals a long room has two rows of stone slabs, each showing the shape of a sheet-covered cadaver on its surface. Strips of fabric and rolls of cloth wrapping lie strewn around the chamber while lines of thread stretch across the room, hung with sheets, obscuring parts of the area. There are a few other furnishings, such as cupboards and benches along the north wall. The chamber has the clinical smell of bitter alkaline. Unlike the previous room, this one has been swept clean of dust and sand, and it will take some time to search through for clues or treasure. Unless someone has light, this room is pitch black. At the far end of the room is another closed door, but otherwise, everything is as silent as the grave.

New Map is up, and we should be done very soon. With an idea of how bif the map is, what is the plan with the pets? Try to cram in? Leave outside? <also it's been lets say 10 minutes if it matters, and you have had a chance to heal up as needed. Just let me know how that is done.

Fendahl will stow his bow, pick up his katana and the broken spear.

"It is a shame such a fine weapon was broken.
Weapons like this are but tools to be used by those who employ them.
They are rarely good nor evil. Their users are to blame for the harm caused by them."

He proceeds to cure himself of the spear cut. wand clw: 3d8 + 3 ⇒ (1, 7, 8) + 3 = 19 (perfect)

"Kirrah, come." the lioness jumps down from the rooftop.

Moving forward to the embalming shop

I have heard necromancers often ply their trade in such places.
