Opened for your to RP and interact while we wait to start.
Additionally, can I get everyone to post the following.
Player Name
Character name
PFS #
Your Day Job roll (or say No Day Job/Down time)
Any special notes you feel I should know about, uncommon Feats or abilities, etc. . . If you have anything that might be ruled differently at different tables, it might also be good to bring it up here.
Any purchases you are making that will need to be recorded on this Chronicle.

Player Name: Steven Stewart
Character Name: Jarek Thrace
PFS #: 174394-15
Day Job: None
Faction: Grand Lodge
The only thing Jarek has is spontaneously casting inflict instead of cure spells, intimidating prowess to add str and cha to intimidate, toughness, and weapon focus heavy mace.

![]() |

Also, Jarek is now fully posted online and ready to go.
An fyi to everyone, Jarek can not spontaneously heal. I also do not have any GM credit on him, so I do not have a wand of clw yet. If you need healing from him, I will gladly tap you with your own wand. He does have an interesting domain power that helps buff the party in combat though, so that will be nice.

Player Name: dwilhelmi
Character Name: Henrikuaxian
PFS #: 183198-1
Day Job: None
Faction: Scarab Sages
Special Notes:
I'm an illusionist, so knowing how you run illusions would be helpful. One thing in particular that I can do is that I took the feat Threatening Illusion, which specifically calls out working with Ghost Sound. I also took the Magical Lineage trait with Ghost Sound as the chosen spell. Since Threatening Illusion is +1 level, and Magical Lineage is -1 level, that leaves it as still a cantrip but able to provide flanking bonuses.
Separate from that is that I also recently took the feat Effortless Trickery, which allows me to concentrate on illusion spells as a swift action. One ruling question that sometimes comes up is whether or not I can maintain concentration on an illusion spell with a swift action and cast another spell with the standard action. The feat calls out the ability to maintain concentration on another spell with the standard action, but doesn't specifically call out the ability to cast with the standard, so some view this feat as really only being applicable once you can quicken a spell to cast two spells in the same round, and so maintain concentration on them both.
Sorry to be a pain from the start - I think illusions are a lot of fun, but they do tend to lead to questions.
For everyone: I have a wand of Infernal Healing I can use to heal myself, and don't mind using it to heal others, but some have problems with that, so up to you. I also still have a scroll of Enlarge Person, if anyone enjoys being embiggened.

![]() |

Jarek very much like being embiggened. Very, very much. So much so that his second PP purchase is a wand of enlarge person.

Player Name: Cwethan

Player Name SirPeter
Character name Ptolomeo

Faction Grand Lodge
Day Job roll profession (miner): 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 4 = 5

Question - I have a boon called "Kaghaze Redeemed" from a previous chronicle, which gives me a free vial of antiplague and a potion of CLW whenever I adventure in the Mwangi Expanse, Sargava, the Shackles, or the Sodden Lands, from the grateful Ekujae people. They are only for use during the adventure, and if not used must be returned. Would this adventure apply, since we are near the Shackles?

![]() |

Sorry I wasn't on yesterday. I had lots of things to catch up on and one of my students invited me to his Eagle Scout ceremony last night.

![]() |

Beckett, at the end of this adventure would it be too late to add the 2 boons?

![]() |

I'm going to repost something from my other game, as they also seemed to misunderstand some of the rules going on or where unclear on how visibility/cover/concealment is working right now.
"There actually multiple different concealment and cover circumstances going on right now. So, in relation to each person individually, visibility is only 20ft max. Period. This is from the ambient fog. In addition, because of the dim light, from the area, anything between 10ft-15ft away has 20% Miss chance. Darkvision will help here, BUT, you are still limited to 20ft visibility. Finally, the thick jungle (the trees on the map) provide Total Cover (you have no line of sight or effect) if it blocks. Everything outside of 20ft has Total Concealment, and is essentially invisible."
Please let me know if you have any questions.

![]() |

Ah, good to know - I thought the 20ft visibility was visibility for a normal human, so my low-light vision would give 40 ft. I will adjust.

I did some reading on Irori's stance on Asmodeus. Not trying to be antagonistic, just RPing (This is the first group I have had that has really RPed, so I am new at this.)

![]() |

I have no issue with that. Different people have different ideas on (in an out of game sense) morality/ethics/religious concepts, so I'd say tread lightly overall, but at the same time, don't feel like you have to walk on eggshells, either.
If you sense something you said is going a little too far, back off of it, talk to the person off screen, ask me (or a GM) to step in, etc. . .

![]() |

I want to trade my dice. These ones are TERRIBLE.

![]() |

I enjoy roleplay between characters, and that includes ideological debates. The only time I start to worry is when it causes inter-player fights. As long as it stays in character, it's fine by me

![]() |

Rocks fall. Asmodeus himself dies. No save. :P

![]() |

I'm sorry for my absence, I'm traveling for the holidays and as soon as I find a computer with a decent internet connection, I'll post. And I hope to do this today. Again, sorry for the inconvenience.

![]() |

I can identify the sandals on a Take 10 (+10 spellcraft, total of 20), so can identify them as Sandals of Quick Reaction, which might be particularly handy in the present situation. Do we have the chance here to say who took the sandals (and supposedly equipped them) prior to this event occurring?
Also, just to make sure I understand - are we actually in combat right now, just without init rolls just yet, and you are telling us that we have a surprise round and a full round before they notice us even if we do nothing? Or can we take a whole bunch of time to buff on this side of the ugly tumor thing, then have a surprise round once we officially engage them in combat? Sorry, just got confused because usually when a surprise round occurs you are already in initiative order, so I wanted to make sure I understood what was going on.

![]() |

You get a fee surprise round, and then they will also be busy during the entire first round of combat. I'm assuming that someone does something to draw their attention, such as walk around in armor, cast a spell, or the like.

![]() |

Or charge in reciting the first principle of Creative Destruction? 'Cause Narayan's essentially waiting on initiative to do that :)

![]() |

Surprise round is only a single Move or Standard, while Round 1 is a full round, so I'm assuming you want to get the Wand out and then cast the Illusion, hoping it will allow you to use the wand from safety?
I am wearing the sandals of quick reaction we found in the previous room, which give me a standard and a move action in the surprise round.

![]() |

Facepalm. Yep, you are right. For whatever reason, I didn't put 2 and 2 together.

![]() |

Hello. I hope everyone had a good Christmas/Holiday, and made out with some good loot. :)
I figured posting would slow down, but I plan on jumping back in either today or tomorrow and getting things going. Assuming everyone is good to go. I know people tend to travel and have busy schedules right now, so I don't mind waiting a bit too.

![]() |

I am here. Fine to go or wait.

![]() |

Happy to adventure!

![]() |

Well, as I told before, I'm traveling and this can make my posting rate get a bit slow, but I think I can follow you, guys. :)

![]() |

I hope you weren't waiting on my post. Sorry./

![]() |

Sorry I wasn't on earlier than today. Yesterday I went to a funeral and today went to an ordination.

![]() |

Ok. Sorry everyone. I'm working on updating now. I'm a Medic in the army, and didn't get a lot of time off for these holidays, but things should be back to normal now.

![]() |

No worries DM Beckett.

![]() |

I'm having a major WiFi headache. It should be sorted in a couple of days. Posting will probably be scarse, so bot me if needed please.

![]() |

Haha, it would appear that we are playing in two games together Jarek. (ZDs Sands game) That's kinda cool. Hope the issue is resolved soon.

![]() |

Unfortunately, only expertise in architecture and foundations for building <Know Engineering> would really help here, and without that understanding, you are simply not sure.
To be clear, my knowledge check there was NOT related to the collapsed hallway, but to the living, regenerating, nasty tumor thing. Was that a misunderstanding, or do we need Know Engineering to know anything about the tumor?

![]() |

Oh, my mistake. Yes, it was a misunderstanding. Im 99% sure its Know Religion, but will double check once I get home.

![]() |

Since Ptolomeo initiated hostilities, I'm assuming I should wait to post until the ghast does something, given the spoilered initiative order? I'm guessing that applies immediately, since the conditions of the spoiler were met by Ptolomeo. Just wanted to make sure you weren't waiting on me :)

![]() |

I wanted to apologize to everyone and just let everyone know I'm not abandoning the game. I've gotten hit with some massive inventories this week and the end of last, and have been working very long hours and through the weekend. I tried to get on and post on the weekend, but the site was down, and I didn't get home until very late last night.
I'm exhausted tonight, but I finished up. So, with luck, I'll be able to jump in and get everything rolling tomorrow. Again sorry for the long wait.

![]() |

Thanks for letting us know DM Beckett. Work happens. Take it easy, get some rest and get back to us when you can.

![]() |

Np, glad everything's okay

![]() |

Thr system being down on Sunday was quite frustrating

![]() |

Two things I like to do near the wrap up of a game is to firstly ask everyone to double check and repost their Chronicle Sheet/Reporting Info, (I've seen mistakes happen caught the second time), and also to ask for criticism, both good and bad.
What did you think of how I ran the game? What did you think of the scenario? How can I improve? What sorts of things did you think worked really well, or really poorly?
Did you have any questions about why something happened, now that the game is <almost> over?
