Oh, so the dice kick me in the tenders for the will save but I get a total of 43 on the knowledge check? Bloody hell.
I forgot to apply the penalty from Melodie's stare to the suggestion DC. The DC is only 19. Maria and Zileska still failed because they rolled natural 1s, but Melodie passed and may act normally!

Retreat and pick up some scrolls like Etherealness, ghost touch, maybe D Anchor? Banishment wasn't a bad shot, it just has a good will save. If we can get it in order with Zhi hitting for sneak attack it'll have -10 on the save before Zil casts.

I wanted to mention this here.
The player, The Rising Phoenix does a lot of 3D rendering. He's been working on a number of scenes including Melodie and Zhi's wedding. We've been going back and forth with him to get the details right.
Mel and I don't feel right totally dictating the appearance of Zileska, Sara, and Maria in these scenes - they're not our characters, after all.
If you're interested, PM him and he'll be happy to chat with you to work out your specific appearance. If you don't want to do that, that's ok. Just let me or Mel know and we'll take our best shot at it.
If you could let us know or post here whichever way you choose to go, that would be great.

Yeah, I've been talking with him on Discord and gotten Maria's design sorted. Had to go with a different dress than I'd imagined but the end result is pretty good.

We need something to keep from slipping back into the ethereal plane. Zil should have access to dimensional anchor.
If we can hold it in place, Sara, Maria, and Zhi should be able to turn it into paste.

I can't prepare new spells while under attack. Since this creature can appear and disappear whenever it likes and regenerate in between, we must assume that we will now never be allowed to rest and regain spells.

So, we heal up. Zil prepares dimensional anchor - which should keep it from slipping off into the ethereal plane. For Sara, Zhi, and Maria we pick up some ghost salt. It'll work for the first attack on each weapon only, but hey.
We then stabby, stab, stab.
Most of us will be doing half-damage, but we do what we can. Hopefully we get a chance to fully spell-prep for the combat.
Any other suggestions?

Since it covers ten pieces of ammunition, Sara could cover ten arrows, flex into Quick Draw and get off ten attacks with the ghost salt, each hitting for 3d8+7+10+1d4

Ok. This is still risky. Dimensional anchor has to hit, and the creature gets spell resistance. So I should prepare multiples. Dimension lock covers an area and doesn't have to hit, so that would work well if we can then keep the creature from leaving the area - but it still gets SR.
I have a few other possible tricks. We need freedom of movement on everyone to prevent that grab-swallow-whole business.

At least freedom of movement has a duration of a couple of hours. Most of the rest of the buffs are 1 rnd/level.

I can hit 4 people with my FoM trick, its only for a minute or so each once triggered, but should be enough time - and will require less resources than all Zil's spell slots.

If we can catch it in a surprise round (or I can blind it round one and continue the wombo combo round two), I can potentially make it entirely immobile with Entangle and then Pin or Dazzle then Daze, but it's got a super high f~&+ing CMD

Just to point out - I have no sodding idea what to do about this. I've never had a campaign get anywhere near this level, I've never had this much about one enemy to consider at a time.

So, we make sure everyone is healed. We pick up applications of ghost salt and prep all our weapons. Zhi teleports almost everyone in - Mel calls in the straggler with the dagger.
If we hit the expected location target, then Mel uses her FoM trick on four of us (Sara, Zil, Mel, and Maria?) Zil can hit the remaining two. We cast all the pre-combat magic we can and hope the thing shows up. Once it does, Zil casts dimensional lock to keep it from shifting. We stab it to death.

I'll take two doses of the ghost salts so I can do with my shoes as well as the brace of arrows. Has anyone managed to identify it?

@Maria: True Strike would be good on Sara to ensure that I can beat its CMD; if I make it blind it might not make its gaze attacks on us.
