DM Brainiac |

Rogar hurls another blast through the wall of fire, hoping to hit the hobgoblin, but he's unable to tell if he landed a hit or not.
Sia bites at the lizard again, scoring two good hits that leave it very wounded. Guided by Rogar's advice, Eustoma fires through the wall of fire at the lizard on the other side. The lizard shrieks in pain, indicating that at least one arrow struck home.
Miss Chance (Low Misses): 1d100 ⇒ 761d100 ⇒ 41d100 ⇒ 18
Wulfram thrusts his spear at the lizard on the near side of the wall, dropping it to the ground.
Since the lizard is down, Karla and Nik'o may change their actions.

DM Brainiac |

Nonlethal Damage: 2d6 ⇒ (5, 4) = 9
Flame Strike: 8d6 ⇒ (2, 6, 2, 5, 1, 3, 3, 6) = 28
The aqueous orb rolls back the way it came, threatening to scoop up Sia and Rogar. You can hear the hobgoblin chant a spell on the other side of the wall of fire, then a column of roaring flame descends on Rogar, Wuflram, and Sia!
Rogar and Sia must make a DC 16 Reflex save or take 9 nonlethal damage from the aqueous orb. If they fail, they'll have to make a second save to avoid being caught up in the orb.
28 damage to Rogar, Sia, and Wulfram from the flame strike (DC 17 Reflex for half). Half this damage is fire, half is untyped.

Rogar Befin |

Reflex DC 16: 1d20 + 8 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 8 + 1 = 12
Reflex DC 16: 1d20 + 8 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 8 + 1 = 13
Reflex DC 17 (now with cover!): 1d20 + 8 + 1 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 8 + 1 + 2 = 17
Ouch. Does my DR apply to the nonlethal from the aqueous orb? Also, do I take damage from passing through the wall of fire, or does the orb protect me from that?
Rogar, blindsided by the rolling ball of water, gets caught up in the churning currents and only just barely manages to avoid the worst of the flame strike. Fortunately for him as he gets swept off the ground, the rolling ball of water brings him to the other side of the curtain of flames, and, careful to hold his breath, sends a sharpened metal spike at the druid, but it utterly and completely misses.
Metal Blast, entangled: 1d20 + 15 - 2 - 2 ⇒ (2) + 15 - 2 - 2 = 138d6 + 20 ⇒ (3, 2, 1, 2, 4, 6, 1, 2) + 20 = 41

DM Brainiac |

LOL, I wasn't expecting anybody to actually fail both saves! Alright, slight retcon for the end of last round!
Wall of Fire Damage: 2d6 + 7 ⇒ (5, 4) + 7 = 16
Caught in the aqueous orb, Rogar is carried through the wall of fire, the flames scorching him. Through the roiling water, the dwarf can see the other side of the room, where the giant lizards cower against the far walls of the tower. Behind a pile of boulders, he spies the prone form of the dragon Ibzairiak, metal shards protruding from his head.
The druid calls down her flame strike, then send her cougar in to attack the dwarf! Even despite the cover the orb provides, the big cat bites Rogar, the powerful attack cutting through his stony skin.
Bite: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (18) + 10 = 281d6 + 5 ⇒ (6) + 5 = 11
16 fire damage to Rogar from the wall of fire, and 5 damage to him after his DR from the cat's bite. He'll take another 2d4 fire damage at the start of Wulfram's turn.
The druid targets her flame strike so it only hits Wulfram and Rogar now, not Sia.

Wulfram Bartos |

DM Brainiac: I'm assuming you're rolling the Wall of Fire Damage on the enemies, since I might not know where they are.
Reflex, Haste: 1d20 + 6 + 1 ⇒ (14) + 6 + 1 = 21
Wulfram prayed to the Flame spirits, and felt a surge of divine power surge through him. He moved over to wall on the near side of the stairs, trying to stay out of the way of the rolling ball of water.
Casting Divine Power. Wulfram gains 7 temp HP, and a +2 luck bonus on attack rolls and weapon damage rolls, and an extra attack that doesn't stack with Haste.
He whined and barked to his companion, *Pele, I'm going to need you to take a look through the wall of fire, so you can tell me what's happening on the other side.*
Five more rounds for the Wall of Fire. It's not a dismissable spell. :(

"Sia stay still." Eustoma doesn't want Sia to crowd the room too much.

Rogar hurls a metal spike at the druid, but it shatters against the wall behind her as she dodges away.
Eustoma fires three arrows through the wall of fire, but only one finds its mark, sinking into the cougar's flank.
Karla urges Nik'o through the wall of fire. The lynx howls as the flames burn her, but she obeys her mistress, biting at the cougar. The cougar yowls and jerks away, the smaller cat's teeth scraping against its magically reinforced hide.
The hobgoblin hisses like a lizard, and the two big lizards nod their heads and rush forward. As they charge Rogar and Nik'o, they shriek and flare their head-frills in an intimidating display! Neither hits with their bites, though. Meanwhile, the hobgoblin begins to cast a lengthy spell, and the cougar tries to maul Rogar, hitting with a bite and a claw, though it doesn't hurt the dwarf much. The roiling aqueous orb continues to batter him though.

Nonlethal Damage: 2d6 ⇒ (2, 3) = 5
1 lethal damage to Rogar. I missed your question about DR earlier, but I think it would apply to the nonlethal damage from the orb, so you don't take any this round and you can reduce the amount you took last round. Rogar and Nik'o must make a DC 13 Will save or be shaken for 1d6 rounds.

Using Kinetic Cover to block the cougar. So, let's see... I'm underwater, entangled inside of a spell, getting pounded on by two different creatures, taking damage from the wall of fire, and just rolled a nat 1 on my attempt to escape.... but I rolled a nat 20 on my will save, so at least I'm not scared!
Side note: if I fall unconscious, I die. Drowning is merciless.

Wulfram Bartos |

*Pele, stay in the wall of fire, until Rogar gets out of the ball of water. When he escapes, go and heal him.*
Wulfram steeled himself, then let out a might roar as he burst through the sheet of flames. He ran past Niko towards the druid, dropping his spear next to the low wall, and drew his mace. Wielding his weapon in both hands, he tried to stop the hobgoblin from completing her spell.

Eustoma scores another good hit on the cougar, badly wounding the big cat. Sia leaps through the flames and dodges the cat's claws as she runs up to the hobgoblin. The druid ducks to avoid the wolf's jaws.
The lizards bite and lash their tails at Rogar and Nik'o, but neither one hits. The cougar moves to flank Wulfram with the druid, managing to bite the shaman through his defenses.
The druid finishes her spell, attempting to dominate Sia! Then she raises her arms and suddenly erupts into flames, wild shaping into the form of a humanoid fire elemental! Intense heat radiates from her as she brandishes her scimitar and shield. She rolls the aqueous orb a few feet to try to sweep up Nik'o!
6 damage to Wulfram. Sia must make a DC 16 Will save or be dominated by the druid (remember the +4 morale bonus since this is an enchantment spell). Nik'o must make a DC 16 Reflex save or take 3 nonlethal damage from the orb and if she fails, a second one to avoid being caught in the orb.

Nik'o |

Rogar Befin |

Reflex DC 16: 1d20 + 8 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 8 + 1 = 12
....
Rogar flails around inside the orb of water, trying to right himself for just a half-second. As soon as he does, a shard of metal blasts out of the churning currents, aimed at the cougar (figuring Sia and wulfram have the druid well under control).
Metal Blast (provokes AoO): 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (15) + 11 = 268d6 + 20 ⇒ (1, 5, 2, 5, 6, 3, 4, 6) + 20 = 52
I don't suppose I can do that whole 'move action to gain cover' trapped in here? ;P
Anyway, my current AC would be 25 after factoring the magic circle and cover. Thinking of which, wouldn't Sia be immune to Domination because of the Magic Circle v. Evil?

DM Brainiac |

You already have cover from the orb, so you can't gain more cover at the moemnt. I forgot about the magic circle--Sia thus is immune to the dominate spell. Good thing Wulfram moved in when he did! :)
Rogar's blast embeds hundreds of metal shards in the cougar's side. It whimpers and falls to the floor, blood pouring from its myriad wounds.
"Ruanni!" The druid lets out an anguished scream, her fiery body flaring with rage!
Nik'o may choose a different target for her attacks.

Wow, string of bad rolls there!
Eustoma fires on the giant lizard while Sia snaps at the fiery hobgoblin, but neither one manages to hit!
Wulfram fares much batter, smashing the druid twice with his mace, leaving her badly wounded.
Nik'o mauls the giant lizard near her, bringing it down with a flurry of fangs and claws!
The druid slashes at Wulfram with her scimitar while the remaining lizard turns on Sia, biting and slapping with its tail. Neither one manages to hit! The druid then gestures, causing the aqueous orb to roll towards Nik'o and Wulfram!

Lizard Full Attack vs. Sia: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (5) + 8 = 131d20 + 3 ⇒ (12) + 3 = 15
Nonlethal Damage: 2d6 ⇒ (4, 5) = 9
3 nonlethal damage to Rogar. Nik'o and Wulfram each take 9 nonlethal damage unless they make a DC 16 Reflex save. If they fail the save, they have to make another DC 16 save or be caught in the orb.

Rogar Befin |

Reflex DC 17: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (10) + 9 = 19
Finally. Now it's payback time.
Rogar finally breaks out of the orb, landing deftly on his feet, half-kneeling, right next to Sia. Around him, metallic flecks and pieces of rust quiver and coalesce into a pair of wickedly sharp solid metal daggers. Inches away from the druid, he throws both with as much magical force as he can muster, taking revenge at the druid responsible for causing him so much injury. "This is fer tryin' ta drown me." he says with a steely voice.

Pele |

Seeing Rogar finally escape the rolling ball of water, Pele rubbed up against his legs, healing him.
There's 2 open squares For Rogar to escape to, and Pele can move to either of them. She can deliver Wulfram's Healing Hex.

DM Brainiac |

Rogar's daggers impale the druid, sinking deep into her chest. She groans and sags to the floor, reverting back to her natural form as blood pools around her.
Nik'o pounces on the remaining lizard. Already badly burned by the wall of fire, the cat's bite is enough to finish off the animal.
The roiling orb of water and the crackling wall of flame remain, but all of your enemies have been defeated!
The orb will last for 3 more rounds, giving Wulfram three chances to escape to avoid damage. He can roll 2d6 nonlethal for each round he's in the orb. Likewise, he can roll the fire damage for the next 2 rounds. Otherwise, congratulations on surviving a difficult encounter! Of course, taking out the dragon in one attack likely saved you a lot of pain. (Incidentally, Rogar rolled exactly its AC to confirm that critical, and did enough damage to drop it to exactly -1 HP.))

Wulfram Bartos |

I assume everyone moves to outside of 10ft from the Wall of Fire.

The dragon has a magic amulet. The druid has antiplague (2), troll oil, mwk lamellar armor, mwk scimitar, mwk sling, magic amulet, magic vest, and gardening shears. A hoard of treasure is scattered across the bottom of the shallow pool, consisting of 232 cp, 2,114 sp, 2,128 gp, magic bastard sword, magic light crossbow, magic belt, potion of hide from animals, potions of fly (2), two magic wands, a massive black pearl (650 gp), a golden manticore statue (110 gp), a set of six silver dice (75 gp for the set), a gold holy symbol of Abadar (100 gp), a silver scepter etched with eagles (165 gp), and a bent and broken lance.
When you get the chance to search this chamber, you find a large hoard of treasure concealed within the pool of water. A large table lies in a niche to the southeast. The rubble has been cleared away from around the table. A collection of scales, stones, and other oddments are arrayed upon the table around a humanoid effigy made of rotten twigs.
The collection includes several large black dragon scales--larger than Ibzairiak's--coated in a thin sheen of mold, a few dead centipedes, and several smooth rocks covered with black slime.

Rogar Befin |

After the battle is done, Rogar kneels on the floor for a while, catching his breath and gratefully accepting Wolfram's healing. Then, he carefully pulls out everything from the dragon's hoard and sorts it.
You know what? I've got some free time. Let's update the loot sheet! It's only 4 month out of date, how long could it take? ;P

Wulfram Bartos |

Wulfram examined the magic items.
Spellcraft (pouch covered in druidic motifs): 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (16) + 8 = 24
Spellcraft (sweet-smelling incense): 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (14) + 8 = 22
Spellcraft (bastard sword): 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (12) + 8 = 20
Spellcraft (light crossbow): 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (15) + 8 = 23
Spellcraft (belt): 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (20) + 8 = 28
Spellcraft (wand 1): 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (6) + 8 = 14
Spellcraft (wand 2): 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (12) + 8 = 20
Knowledge (religion): 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (17) + 4 = 21
"This bundle of sticks looks like the unholy symbol of Cyth-V'sug, the demon lord of fungus," Wulfram told the others.

Wulfram Bartos |

Spellcraft (gem on silver chain): 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (4) + 8 = 12
Wulfram was fascinated by the gem on a silver chain, which he found earlier in the armory, but couldn't figure out its properties.

Karla Teg |
Karla waits for the curtain of flames to drop and jumps at Nik'o's neck, who is tended by Wulfram. With tears flowing, she presses the lynx against her, thanking her for her courage, and thanking her companions as well.
As things come to a calm, she helps with the items found.
Spellcraft (magical pouch covered in druidic motifs): 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (15) + 12 = 27
Spellcraft (magical sweet-smelling incense): 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (10) + 12 = 22
Spellcraft (gem on a silver chain): 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (20) + 12 = 32
She looks at the fallen dragon with great curiosity, somewhat sad to have not seen it in all its glory: "So much for the great dragon threat... How did it die?" she asks.

DM Brainiac |

The first two items were already ID'd, Karla, but you can use the roll for the other wand. Wand of fireball (16 charges) and periapt of placebos:
What at first appears to be a finr gem dangling from a long, silver chain is in fact a cut and polished bezoar. This necklace—often mistaken for a periapt of health or a periapt of proof against poison—inspires its wearer with the utter conviction that he has been rendered immune to both disease and poison. While the necklace imparts no genuine protections, the strength of belief it imparts nonetheless grants its wearer a +2 morale bonus to all Fortitude saving throws against diseases and poisons.

Wulfram Bartos |

"I think Rogar must have hit the dragon with one of his blasts," Wulfram replied. "The wall of fire was blocking my view, so I didn't see it happen."
He was still feeling rather scorched, so Wulfram cast a cure spell on himself.
Cure Light Wounds, Frontier Healer: 1d8 + 5 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 5 + 4 = 11
"We should make sure the prisoner is secured, and confine the unconcious birds," Wulfram said to the others.
"As for the goblin in the forge, and the lizard, maybe we should board up the doors for now. I wouldn't want one of us to be turned to stone!"

Rogar Befin |

"We also need ta take care o' tha troll downstairs- an' tha forge could have some weapons tha' Misthome coul' make use out of." Rogar points out, "We may no' yet be done wi' tha fighting fer today."
Just a note- we still have a magic vest and two magic amulets still unidentified.
