holding action until map update.
That is my preference anyway.
Gwenyth moves to where Chi was dragged under, keeping a vigilant eye on the thrashing beneath her feet.
Gwenyth i'm happy for your readied action to include putting the Ring of Swimming on Chi's finger.
Chi, as your able to grab onto effectively an immovable object (Gwenyth) you may have +2 to your next swim check to surface.

Marcus was definitely down 5HP or more last round.

Marcus Alanto |

Working both hands independently, Marcus spins in place battering away the flurry of spearpoints with sword and shield. Gwen's healing renews his energy and partially closes his wound. Its like a drug, intoxicating. Seeing his companions closing he moves smoothly from defense to offense, sword flicking out at the head creature's hands in a disarming strike while he smashes the edge of his shield at the adjacent smaller creature.
Five foot step to CX,16.
Disarm vs boss 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (17) + 7 = 24
Shield bash vs CY,16 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 = 9
1d3 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3
I move into range of naturalist with the five foot step but I've assumed I have to be in range in Ambroze's turn. If I'm wrong please add bonus. Simarly, I'm assuming the boss doesn't get an AOO with Marcus in close unless he is a polearm master fighter. Lastly, I'm assuming I can still bludgeon with the shield for 1d3 damage. Please tell me if I've mucked any of this up. If there is an AOO that I could have been aware of (ie not a polearm master) I would have just attacked with the falcata.
AC 22

DM Alexander Kilcoyne |

As long as your in range of Ambroze I rule you get the bonus. Lets keep it simple.
Remembering Ishorou's training, Marcus deftly disarms the longspear, sending it clattering to the ground. His shield bash is dodged by his small foe, and in return both of the Vegepygmies attempt to trip him again. Apparently not liking Marcus' treatment of their head honcho, one of the vegepygmies shifts position, retrieves his longspear and attempts to stab Marcus in the back- the blow catching on his armour. The second Vegepygmy lashes out at Marcus with tiny claws, his onslaught again held off by Marcus' breastplate.
1d20 + 5 ⇒ (13) + 5 = 18
1d20 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6
1d20 + 3 ⇒ (18) + 3 = 21

Ambroze |

Round Three:
Ambroze continues to climb back up the fungi gangplank while shouting words of advice for battling the creatures.
Take 10 to climb up the fungi gangplank for a total check of 13. Full round action to climb as far as he can - how far will that be?
Free action to continue Bardic Performance (Naturalist) - benefitting all allies within range of 30 ft from Ambroze.
Rounds of Bardic Performance used today: 3

Ambroze |

Okay, let's gamble. Ambroze will try to climb faster.
Climb check: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (18) + 3 = 21
EDIT: With that check could Ambroze move close enough with a move action to then be able to cast Grease (Reflex DC 14 or fall prone) on the deck on which two of the vegepygmies are standing (not sure of their current positioning since they moved)? If so I'd like to amend my action to do so; otherwise I'll stick with just taking the full round action to climb.

DM Alexander Kilcoyne |

What about the vegys on Tun'ada?
Ahem. Fixing.
The two vegepygmies show no sign of being pertubed by their fallen comrade. They watch you warily, keeping their distance from your claws, backing away and stabbing at you once more. Their strikes are inept though, and do not get anywhere near Tun'ada.
1d20 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5
1d20 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2
In answer Ambroze, it takes your full movement to even get onto the gangplank.
As Ambroze moves faster and skillfully climbs the gangplank, he is almost clear and onto the deck when the vegepygmy closest to the gangplank sees an opportunity to lunge at Ambroze with his spear. The strike is a good one and while he is climbing Ambroze has to simply hope his armour turns the blow aside- which it does not.
1d20 + 1 ⇒ (16) + 1 = 17 VS FF- Hit
1d6 ⇒ 4 Damage
Ambroze please pass a DC10 climb check or lose your footing and tumble into the water below. No take 10 i'm afraid. If you pass, you get onto the deck at -CX15.
Mawj and Uli get to the end of the gangplank just behind Ambroze, ready to leap oto the deck regardless is Ambroze has fallen or not.
Just Chi & Tun'ada left to act, then head honcho and Gwenyth. Gwen feel free to post out of order the honchos move doesn't affect you.

Tun'ada |

Tun'ada steps forward and slashes at each of the vegepygmies with his claws...
5ft step, one claw at each vegy
Right Claw:1d20 + 8 ⇒ (19) + 8 = 27
Damage:1d4 + 5 ⇒ (4) + 5 = 9
Left Claw:1d20 + 8 ⇒ (16) + 8 = 24
Damage:1d4 + 5 ⇒ (3) + 5 = 8

DM Alexander Kilcoyne |

With a yelp of pain and surprise, Ambroze loses his balance and tumbles from the strands of fungi- landing in the water with an audible splash. Almost immediately, he begins to struggle with the strong currents...
Swim check necessary on your initiative next round. Its been more than 24 hours so I will bot Chi.
1d20 + 7 ⇒ (5) + 7 = 12
The water underneath Gwenyth continues to bubble and splash as Chi continues to struggle under the surface, attempting to break the surface of the water but not managing to rise any higher.
3/24 rounds breath left.
I'm ruling that attempting to break the surface once more and struggle against the current is enough of a strenuous activity to count as two rounds of breath like most standard actions are.
Gwenyth I assume your still attempting to provide assistance and I will continue to assume this until told otherwise. I will shift your initiative to its new position next round update.
Meanwhile on the Nightvoice, the vegepygmy boss grabs his spear from the ground in one hand, keeping a second wary claw ready to strike Marcus.
This does provoke an AOO from Marcus, but the vegepygmy can take an AOO of his own with a claw if you provoke during it. Please feel free to roll it but i'll continue to update as I doubt you will one-shot him.
Despite Marcus' strike, the vegepygmy leader steps away from him once more and lunges with his longspear, seeking to strike Marcus in the jugular. Marcus is able to deflect the dangerous attack to his armour, the hit glancing off him harmlessly.

Gwenyth I assume your still attempting to provide assistance and I will continue to assume this until told otherwise. I will shift your initiative to its new position next round update.
Yes, that's correct, AK. Who'd have thought that walking on water would actually hinder my ability to help my friends? :sigh:

Chi T'reignial |

Chi manages to fight her way to the surface of the water, fighting the currents and waves as she does so.
Swim 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (17) + 7 = 24 if she can make the shore she will, to the closest point of the shore.
Sorry, RL been busy what with locking myself out of the house Friday night (after finishing DMing LoF House of the Beast with a few friends), returning at 1:30am, decided not to wake my wife so tried to sleep in the car. It's all been a bit crazy...life is never dull!

DM Alexander Kilcoyne |

Note- Naturalist bonuses lost as Ambroze is now in the water.
As the vegepygmy leader grabs his longspear from the ground, Marcus launches an overhand chop at him. The agile plant-like humanoid sways aside from the blade, having successfully picked up his weapon.
1d20 + 9 ⇒ (4) + 9 = 13
1d8 + 5 ⇒ (8) + 5 = 13
Not wanting to let up his assault, Marcus wields his shield and falcata in unison, landing hits with both strikes but neither really harming the vegepygmy, its armour and tough skin protecting it from the weapons.
1d20 + 8 ⇒ (12) + 8 = 20
1d8 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5
1d20 + 5 ⇒ (10) + 5 = 15
1d4 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5
Apparently happy to let their leader duel with Marcus, the other two vegepygmies shift their positions to assault Mawj, whose agility allows him to duck underneath one spear and leap off Uli for a moment to evage the other, landing smoothly back on his steed's back.
1d20 + 3 ⇒ (10) + 3 = 13
1d6 ⇒ 5
1d20 + 3 ⇒ (11) + 3 = 14
1d6 ⇒ 3
Chi emerges from the currents at last, spluttering for air. Gwenyth manages to slip the ring of swimming onto Chi's finger as she emerges, and the elf manages to ride the tide back onto shore to emerge near Tun'ada and the fallen Vegepygmies.
1d20 + 1 ⇒ (16) + 1 = 17 Melee touch attack VS Chi's finger
Tun'ada, Ambroze & Mawj are up.

Tun'ada |

Climb:1d20 + 9 ⇒ (6) + 9 = 15
Tun'ada moves to the plank and begins to rapidly cross..
Tun'ada's movement rate is 40,took 20 ft of movement to get to the plank, plus a second movement, he should on the plank at -CP provided the climb check passes...

Mawj |

Derp. I scrolled up too far and clicked on the link for the map for last round.
Mawj lets out a shrilly chuckle as Ambroze plunges into the water. With a grunt and a roar, he and Uli tear into the vegepygmy beside them.
Horsebane; Attack 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (14) + 10 = 24, Damage 1d4 + 5 ⇒ (2) + 5 = 7
Uli bite; Attack 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (10) + 4 = 14, Damage 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3; trip 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6

DM Alexander Kilcoyne |

Tun'ada struggles for a moment, but manages to deftly move across the the centre of the gangplank after he nearly loses his balance for a moment.
Yup, -CP.
Meanwhile, Mawj launches a counterattack, slashing the vegepygmy to the deck in a single clean cut across its body, while Uli bites the downed plant for good measure.
Per- 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6
Having suffered some near-hits from Marcus, the vegepygmy leader backs away 5 feet warily, seeking an opening. The leader finds it by battering Marcus' shield aside with the haft of the longspear, and lancing the point at the mercenaries head. Blows flows freely from the wound, Marcus' ear almost severed by the blade...

I am, although I believe I may have missed last round due to the readied action. It's just of the utmost importance that Dan keeps his HP current on his profile. Dan, last round (prior to taking this 10 damage) you should have healed 5, as it appears that you were down more than 5. I will make the appropriate adjustment to my own sheet now.

Marcus Alanto |

Bleeding, despite Gwen's constant healing and yet to pierce the spearman's defenses, Marcus continues to press his foe, stepping in to close the distance and launching a blistering series of sweeping blows before ramming the edge of his shield at the adjacent small enemy.
Falcata vs boss 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (15) + 7 = 221d8 + 3 ⇒ (8) + 3 = 11 edit: +1 dam for whetstone if that hits
Light Spiked Shield vs flunky 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (10) + 4 = 141d3 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4 edit 2: that needs to be 1d3 for bludgeoning not 1d4
AC 22

DM Alexander Kilcoyne |

You've been so close to landing a hit both times...
Once more, Marcus' falcata is slowed by the ornate chainmail, piercing it but losing so much momentum that the hard plant-like natural armour underneath protects against the blow. Marcus' shield meets a similar fate against the other vegepygmy. The minion shifts into place behind Marcus, abandoning its longspear in favor of tearing Marcus apart with its claws- but the slashes are clumsy and even with his attention on the leader Marcus dodges them casually.
1d20 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8
1d20 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 9

Mawj |

Mawj gives an ululating shriek of triumph as the vegepygmy falls. He spurs Uli forward to the next foe. He sings a goblin war song as he slashes.
"Goblins sneak and goblins harm,
Goblins find a lonely farm,
Badger stink and poison bone,
Kill the dog away from home!"
Mawj moves five feet north, then moves ten feet west against the vegepygmy at -CY-17.
Horsebane; Attack 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (7) + 10 = 17, Damage 1d4 + 5 ⇒ (1) + 5 = 6

You should be able to flank it, it is behind me.

DM Alexander Kilcoyne |

Showing no sign of fear or despair at the fate of his fellow plants, the Vegepygmy retreats to -CX, -20 (this provokes an AOO from you Marcus) and holds his spear aloft and ready to defend against the three warriors on his ship.
