I believe you said that I could in the OOC thread, but I didn't think that I would be able to get a swing with both claws during a surprise round. If I am incorrect in that assumption, here's the other claw.
Attack(Claw):1d20 + 5 + 1
Damage:1d4 + 3
Thats what I remember too, and correct about the surprise round.
Chi, Ambroze, Gwen- feel free to roll init and join the "fun". I have the Undead acting first in Round 2 but i'm waiting to allow you Round 1 actions if you wish to take them. All those 20's, i've been playing too much Dead Rising 2 and now the undead are PISSED.
DM Alexander Kilcoyne
Gwen, petrified that her friends are in danger, rushes to the hole (move) and begins to climb down.(standard)
Initiative: 1d20+2
Alas, if only I'd have Detected Undead. AK, you totally are out to punish me for my lamentation of that spell.
Lmao. I did wonder if you'd use it when the hole was uncovered etc.! Whats a useless spell now eh! :D. But in all seriousness, this is a book encounter, all I did here was increase the number of creatures from 2 to 3.
On a more current note, Gwyneth taking 10 on climb gives you a 9 and you know the DC is 10, do you wish to roll or accept the 9?
DM Alexander Kilcoyne
I'm going to assume Chi won't be able to do anything in her current state to affect this round, and Ambroze won't be able to help much either, but if either do manage, i'l retcon it in.
Round 2 Initiative-
Ishorou- 18 (paralysed!)
Undead- 13
Saverend- 11
Tun'ada- 9 (paralysed!)
James- 7 (paralysed!)
Gwen- 7 (possibly climbing down)
Chi- 5
Seeing their ally destroyed by the Dwarf, the other two undead turn to face Savarend and one of them hisses at him, salivating, murky green stained teeth snarling.
You shall regret that, filthy Dwarf... And you shall regret aiding Quellig!
The two undead abandon their other prey and move to attack, one moving enough that he only gets time for a bite, and the other stepping towards the Dwarf to make a full attack. Both undead severely wound the Dwarf. Savarend does manage to stubbornly resist the paralysis however.

Round 1
Chi gets her bow and arrow cocked, before moving to the hole looking down to find targets, in round 1.
Round 2
Initiative 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5..adjusted to include -1 dex due to sickness
Chi lets fly an arrow at an animated undead, Ishorou's first.
Attack longbow 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 9...unadjusted needs to: +1 bless, -1 sickness, -4 into melee
Damage on the off chance it hits 1d8 ⇒ 7
Savarend Whiteroot
Savarend circles around the lip of the well (to E11) and strikes at the undead attacking Ishorou, flailing with fists, elbows, and feet. "Kingfisher Catches the Minnow."

Attack 1d20+6Damage 1d6+3
Damage 1d6+3
Both undead came to you- no need to move :).
Savarend destroys the Undead that James wounded, leaving a single beast and the badly wounded Dwarf...
Going to wait to resolve Ambroze and Gwyneth before moving to Round 3.
DM Alexander Kilcoyne
Round 1-
Gwyneth begins the climb and moves ten feet down the wall.
Gwyneth climb check Round 2-
1d20 - 1 ⇒ (1) - 1 = 0
Panicking from the climb down, Gwyneth falls the last 30 feet, landing hard by Ishorou and taking 3d6 ⇒ (5, 5, 2) = 12 points of falling damage, leaving her badly wounded but still concious. As Gwyneth has a standard action left on her init count in Round 2, i've assumed she will channel energy to destroy the last undead..
Channel Damage-1d6 ⇒ 3
Will Save- 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (14) + 7 = 21 1 damage taken.
Round 3 Initiative-
Ishorou- 18 (paralysed!)
Ambroze- 16
Undead- 13
Saverend- 11
Tun'ada- 9 (paralysed!)
James- 7 (paralysed!)
Gwen- 7 (possibly climbing down)
Chi- 5
Ambroze takes another shot after reloading, firing into the melee below but completely missing.
1d20 ⇒ 1
1d6 ⇒ 1
The undead shifts a little closer to Gwyneth, grimacing at the positive energy harming it and ignoring Savarend for now. Luckily for the Hermean exile, her armour just barely holds up against the undead's assault, leaving her unharmed.
1d20 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8
1d6 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3
1d20 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6

Savarend's up. Can the Dwarf destroy the third Undead?
Savarend Whiteroot
No map, but assuming a flanking bonus with Gwenyth.
"Courtier Taps His Fan." Savarend executes a simply but powerful series of overhand blows, aiming for the weak spot at the base of the skull.
Attack (FoB)
1d20 + 7 ⇒ (5) + 7 = 12
1d20 + 7 ⇒ (3) + 7 = 10
Damage
1d6 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8
1d6 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7
Ouch, maybe not this turn...
Tun'ada
"Does anyone have a light source that will not be extiguished by the water?"
Assuming someone does, Tun'ada will go for a swim and see what he can find.
Taking 10 on the swim check (unless it proves to be insufficient) yields a 17 for the check. Perception:1d20 + 9 ⇒ (17) + 9 = 26
DM Alexander Kilcoyne
Busy day, sorry all. I assume a take 10 from James too.
Thank you kindly, I am in your debt... Ishorou says to Gwen in response to her healing.
James and Tun'ada dive into the pool, and find at the bottom a sharp turn towards the north in the narrow tunnel. The tunnel leads on for another ten seconds or so of swimming before turning sharply up for fifteen feet. Emerging from the murky water in a much smaller, cramped chamber, Tun'ada and James marvel at their discovery- a waterproofed sea chest with an ornate looking lock on it. This must be the treasure Ishorou spoke of.
DM Alexander Kilcoyne
1 person marked this as a favorite.
Retrieving the chest, the duo make their way back to the group and the group ascend the pit and into the sunlight. Ishorou can barely contain himself as the Tian man grins at the chest and begins to work on the lock. He struggles for quite some time, but finally opens the chest, revealing its contents.
-A bejeweled, master-crafted cold iron Starknife which Ishorou promptly claims as his share, twirling the blade expertly with a self-satisfied smirk on his face.
-4,500 copper pieces.
-3,000 silver pieces.
-1,500 gold pieces.
-75 platinum pieces.
-A silk pouch containing precious red gems (Appraise check necessary to determine value).
-Six noble's outfits.
-A masterworked darkwood buckler that glows softly with a blue light.
-A watertight mithril scroll tube, currently containing a single, well-sealed scroll.
Current time, 9:30AM, Day 8
Ambroze
"Here, let me take a look," Ambroze says, taking the buckler from James' outstretched hands.
The scholarly gnome casts his Detect Magic cantrip and studies the buckler carefully.
Spellcraft check: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (4) + 7 = 11
Ambroze frowns and scratches his head as he studies the buckler. "Well, near as I can tell it's a masterfully crafted darkwood buckler that glows with a soft blue light..."
Gwenyth
Ambroze frowns and scratches his head as he studies the buckler. "Well, near as I can tell it's a masterfully crafted darkwood buckler that glows with a soft blue light..."
Thanks, I just spit tea all over my monitor.
Gwen looks at the scroll in the case, after casting Read Magic.
I'd think we'd be best served to haul it up near the camp and re-bury it, at least for now. Or maybe leave it here. Or maybe put it in the camp - I actually trust most everyone there. ish, you've spent more time in camp than the rest of us - do you foresee any problems with letting it lay about? I personally don't have much desire for personal wealth, I'd just like to get off this island, but I know others might not feel the same...
Chi T'reignial
Chi, her face a pale translucent blue is having difficulty standing when you return up from the hole, "Is it time to return yet, I'm feeling very weak and sleepy. If we go on, can someone help me, this sickness is making me feel so unwell."
Around Chi's legs a ginger cat strokes its back and whiskers against Chi, in a show of affection and concern.
Gwenyth
Certainly, dear - here, come lie down. Eat some of these berries - Aerys says they don't taste so bad - and drink some water. With rest, you'll be better in no time.
Heal (to treat disease): 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (9) + 7 = 16
Not sure if that beats the Save DC of the disease or not, actually. If so, you're +8 on your next Save. If not, you're +4.

Assume +4 and i'll add the additional +4 if you passed. I tend to handle disease exposure and healing in the evenings though. Gwen, you know that Chi will need at least today and tomorrow evening to recover, at the earliest. If the group want to camp here in that time or go out adventuring etc. that is completely up to you as characters and players- this chapter is extremely player driven and i'm currently waiting on all of your input. Incidentally, Ishorou is seeking permission to take the starknife, he was definitely asking rather than demanding...
Chi T'reignial
I hope you don't mind this heavy on the sick front, I don't mean to derail your plans, but I just think she's an unwell bunny and wants to stay home, if you go on she will follow, but only slowly and won't do much.
Chi smiles Gwen and Tun'ada for their kindnesses. Even a twinkle in her eye comes as Ishorou comes by with his new starknife. "I see you have a new toy too, Ishorou. It suits you."
Ishorou aka DM AK
No problem, once I have confirmation from one more character i'll assume you stay put for a day or two- I just need clarity one way or another. Without knowing your plans, I cannot advance the game.
I have a present for you too, little Chi. Ishorou says gently, showing Chi the ornate looking lock he picked open from the chest. You may play with it when you feel better... he says, smirking and holding the lock a little out of her reach.
Addressing all of you but primarily Tun'ada, Ambroze and James, Ishorou clears his throat.
Thank you for helping me find this treasure. The value of this weapon is great indeed, even greater in value than the katana the Aspis Consortium gifted me- in monetary terms. If you wish, while Chi rests I can show any who wish to learn a few specialist techniques with the blade- these are techniques that I will only be able to teach with swords though...
50XP each- Ishorou's attitude is now Helpful.

Dawn, Day 10.
So, what are your plans? The closest thing to you are three shipwrecks on the east coast.
