Terrible pun here, but the snake rolled snake eyes. A 1 for its stealth roll, a 1 for its initiative...

DM Alexander Kilcoyne |

Taking Ambroze's action for him. I've assumed Ambroze loaded his crossbow before moving into predator-ville.
Ambroze gasps in surprise as he spots the snake and quickly reacts, firing off a shot from his crossbow, slamming into the snake's flesh and imbedding itself in its scales.
1d20 + 5 ⇒ (14) + 5 = 19
1d6 ⇒ 6
The snake darts forward to bite Savarend, and as it moves into reach James and Savarend smoothly move into a flanking position to strike at it simultaneously.
I think this is over. Make your rolls gentlemen, snake eyes got the snake butchered lol.

DM Alexander Kilcoyne |

The snake ducks under the horizontal strike only to be sent reeling by a powerful kick. Retaliating, it bites at the monk, but at a place he was stood seconds before, having already anticipated the blow.

Moving through the jungle, the castaways get to the top of the hill. The crown of this hill is one of the few areas on the Shiv that’s not jungle—the entire hilltop is an open area of tall grass overlooking the island’s eastern shoreline. Ishorou nods in satisfaction at your new campsite.
This is the place. he says with certainty. See those two small rock islands jutting out of the ocean to the east? he gestures. At dawn, the sun will be rising through the two rocks, and it is by the sun's alignment we shall find the exact spot to dig, at dawn.
Gelik groans audibly at the thought of digging for treasure. As night is rapidly closing in, the group go about their duties and begin to set up camp, a task which is quickly accomplished under Savarend's military precision.

1d20 - 1 ⇒ (18) - 1 = 17 Heal check.
Chi becomes to visibly come down with a fever and a severe headache, and seems exceptionally drowsy. Worried, Gelik asks Gwyneth for her opinion- he believes Chi has caught an entirely seperate disease- sleeping sickness

Chi T'reignial |

Chi doesn't wake in the morning bright and breezy like she normally does, in fact she and cat are still sleeping even when breakfast is being made. When Gwen comes to see how she is, she rubs the sleep from her eyes, but remains drowsy and lethargic. "Morning Gwen, I'm a bit tired today, I think I'll stay here and sleep. Tell the others, I don't see any point me holding you up. " She yawns and want to go back to sleep.

Gwenyth |

Heal: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (17) + 7 = 24
Yes, Gelik, you're certainly right - that's exactly what's wrong. I don't suppose there's any arsenic about, is there? It's by far the quickest and I daresay safest Cure. No? Hmm.
Gwen huddles the group together, excluding Chi.
Gentlemen, this disease Chi has contracted is very serious. Now, we have viper nettle berries left, three handfuls. But Gelik's going to need one of those today, which will only leave us with two handfuls - generally speaking, one treatment. I have this potion of Remove Disease, which is a fairly powerful spell, if I recall correctly. It would give Chi a chance to be instantly cured of the disease - although there is also a chance that it could completely fail. I'd like to use it. What do the rest of you think? Soon, we're going to need to find more berries...

Ishorou aka DM AK |

The night passes uneventfully.
Come now Chi, are you not excited? Treasure awaits, you can rest by the dig site! Ishorou exclaims with a grin, waking up Chi once more. I have already found the site, its within a stones throw of the campsite. I'll need help with the digging of course... the Tian man says, looking directly at Savarend, James and Tun'ada.
Dawn, Day 8

DM Alexander Kilcoyne |

"I'm happy to go and get us some more berries Gwen, we should probably save that potion for a real emergency."
You picked that patch clean to get the handfuls you already have. Ambroze would tell you that they are not only exceedingly rare, but they will take months to grow back. Is the group going to help Ishorou with the treasure hes trying to dig up or do you have other plans for the day?

DM Alexander Kilcoyne |

The group dig where Ishorou directs them, and Sasha handles the day's hunting in his stead. After 1d4 ⇒ 1 hour of digging using the shovels from the Jenivere, a 10 feet deep and 10 feet wide pit has been dug.
Inside the freshly dug pit are two things-
1. A wooden floor of sorts made from logs, which appears to be acting as a plug for a much deeper pit than the one you dug. It looks quite sturdy, and is being held up by the earth and clay surrounding it.
2. A skeleton, dwarf sized, dressed in rotting leather armour and covered in dirt.
You notice deep scratches in the Dwarves ribcages, and a small hole in the back of the Dwarves leather armour. It appears he was stabbed in the back and through the heart, with no knowledge of the attack...
7AM, Day 8.

DM Alexander Kilcoyne |

The wooden plug impedes your progress further fully. A strong man could probably weaken it enough for it to collapse within a few minutes of heavy chopping with a blade, but he'd have to be stood on it to do so. Alternatively, Ishorou points out that you could dig on one side of the edge to make a small opening, but this is likely to take more time.

Ambroze |

"Hmmm. What do you think, Gwen?" Ambroze asks, studying the dwarf-sized skeleton along with the oracle.
Can I Aid Another with the Heal check? If so: 1d20 ⇒ 6.
EDIT: Yeah, like Ambroze knows anything Healing!
Ambroze will also see if he can find anything distinguishing on the skeleton's rotting leather armor. Perception:1d20 + 6 ⇒ (19) + 6 = 25.

DM Alexander Kilcoyne |

"Hmmm. What do you think, Gwen?" Ambroze asks, studying the dwarf-sized skeleton along with the oracle.
Can I Aid Another with the Heal check? If so: 1d20.
EDIT: Yeah, like Ambroze knows anything Healing!Ambroze will also see if he can find anything distinguishing on the skeleton's rotting leather armor. Perception:1d20 + 6.
A small hole in the leather armour that does not appear to have been caused by the ravages of time catches your eye. This Dwarf was stabbed through the back.
The clay and earth around the plug itself is a much harder consistency, but after 1d4 ⇒ 2 hours of hard digging, a hole large enough to squeeze through has been made. Below you, darkness looms. From the limited light of the sun through the hole you can see that the walls of the pit are shored up by wooden bracing, making it a fairly easy climb (DC10).
9AM, Day 8.

1d20 + 9 ⇒ (9) + 9 = 18 LD's S C
Tun'ada i've assumed you go down too, correct me if i'm wrong and we'll retcon.
With the dancing lights illuminating the pit, Savarend, Tun'da, Ishorou and James can see the pit ends in a pool of water at the bottom- 40 feet below the hole they opened. Climbing down, they notice that only the middle of the pool is deep, while the outer edges of the pit are shallow. The pit is also significantly larger here at the bottom.

Tun'ada-1d20 + 9 ⇒ (19) + 9 = 28
Shortly after you get your footing on the damp earth, James and Tun'ada notice three humanoids lurking in the deep part of the pit. Just as they are about to point them out, they attack!

James- 7 (active)
Remember as it's a surprise round, single move or standard acton only. None of you have weapons out currently.
The three creatures emerge from the pool swiftly, lunging for Ishorou, Tun'ada and James. Clearly Undead in nature, these beasts have long sharp teeth and flesh stretched thin over their lanky frames. They all attempt to bite their victims in the surprise round and each is successful, capitalising on their surprise to take a chunk out of their opponents
1d20 + 3 ⇒ (19) + 3 = 22 VS Ishorou, Hit
1d6 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2 Damage

Savarend Whiteroot |
Attack bonus for higher ground? If so, my rolls would be 14 and 25.
Savarend abandons any pretense of martial form and simply walks forward and punts the undead menace in the head like a kickball.

And there's the proof the claws are new.
Did we ever fully resolve if you could attack with both?
To everyones surprise, James sinks his teeth into undead flesh ew... and tears a huge chunk of the creatures shoulder away, nearly ripping off the creature's head. Tun'ada swipes at his assailant with a claw but the undead thing easily avoids the attack.

Ishorou aka DM AK |

Round 1 Initiative-
Ishorou- 18
Undead- 13
Saverend- 11
Tun'ada- 9
James- 7
Drawing his precious Katana in a heartbeat, Ishorou swipes for his attacker but doesn't manage to land a blow. He takes a quick step away from the creature.
1d20 + 7 ⇒ (2) + 7 = 9 (Higher ground, bless) Miss
The Undead continue to attack their targets, this time launching vicious and furious attacks with both claws and teeth, matching James and Tun'ada for bestial ferocity as they seek to tear their prey apart. Ishorou is brutally wounded and seems to be paralysed, Tun'ada is struck by a particularily vicious bite and claw and also freezes up, still standing, and even James mighty fortitude does not save him from paralysis.

Tun'ada Fort-1d20 + 4 ⇒ (9) + 4 = 13 Fail
James Fort-1d20 + 11 ⇒ (2) + 11 = 13 Fail (Instead of forcing multiple rolls I increase DC from multiple hits much like poison- less randomness and forced dice rolls is usually good for the player.)
Tun'ada I have you on 3HP, James I have you having taken 11 damage so far with DR calculated, please confirm.
Savarend moves in and smashes one of the undead to bits with two powerful blows from his body.
Ishorou- 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5
Tun'ada- 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3
James- 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5
Everyone up top, you can hear sounds of battle emanating from the pit. If your reacting, please roll initiative and post for this rounds actions. You can reach the hole leading down in a move action, the pit itself is fairly well illuminated. Ambroze i'm going to say you were already at the hole as you were directing the lights.
You are currently paralyzed! If you hadn't guessed.

Tun'ada wrote:

I believe you said that I could in the OOC thread, but I didn't think that I would be able to get a swing with both claws during a surprise round. If I am incorrect in that assumption, here's the other claw. And yes, I confirm that I am at 3/19 in terms of HP.
