Your Humble Narrator

Going to assume Vaysh and Edric help out.

The group respectfully clean up Erastil's statue, under Fenna's careful leadership. Night has truly fallen by the time the group are done, and Vaysh's dancing lights float around the statue, providing light to the group's labours and creating a beautiful scene for anyone passing nearby. When the group finish each feels the satisfaction of a job well done for their efforts, a inner peace of sorts. The group are just settling down to go to sleep after their labours, when they notice the group's weapons are all bathed in a soft blue glow of magic...

Hmmm interesting, a blessing from Erastil? Do anyone of you more wizardly types know what this effect of this belssing might be? Feel free to study my blade.

Malthir swings it around a bit to see if it bursts into flame or anything really dramatic happens.

Malthir looks rather foolish, but nothing dramatic happens.

Still no sign of Vaysh so I rolled Spellcraft for her.

Vaysh explains that the spell effect upon the weapons is keen edge, and a potent casting of it indeed. From what she can tell of the aura's, this blessing will last a week...

Calendar Man, relying on you to tell the group when the effect is over.

A potent blessing indeed!
Malthis says his thanks to Erastil and then another prayer to Iomedae for their continued success in their mission to find the Unicorn hair and cure the boy.
I guess we settle in for the night here and then set off the next morning in search of the unicorns body, mapping that hex as we go.

Today is the 24th of Erastus (the day is oathday, in case you are wondering). That means that the blessing will last until the 1st of Arodus. I'll say when. - as for exploration, Maladin's plan sounds fine by me.

Your Humble Narrator

The night passes without incident as the party sleep under the watchful gaze of Erastil and his statue. Hading south-west towards where the Unicorn can apparently be found, the party head onto a forest trail leading south-west.

Perception Rolls:

Fenna hears the sound of horses moving towards you from the north-east, and points it out to the group. Squinting, the group can see armoured riders in the distance, heading in your direction.

Duke of Kardas, First Sword of Iomedae HP:51/76 AC:27 F:+14, R:+8, W:+12 CMD:23/24 P:-1 Init:+0 AOO:+16

Fenna, do you see any marking on the riders to indicate who they are, I can't make out from here if they might be friend or foe. Be prepared, Edric, Casimir, lets ride just ahead and greet them.

Malthir would like to position him and Edric about 20-25 feet ahead of vaysh and Fenna when we greet this group with Casimir either just behind us or beside us depending upon what he wants.

Casimir takes position besides Edric, on the opposite side of Malthir, so all three warriors ride i a line. He does not draw any weapons, but makes sure that both sword and bow are within easy reach.

Aye, let see who rides in the Stolen Lands besides ourselves.

Perception 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (9) + 8 = 17

Your Humble Narrator

The group move into position and await their guests. Two armoured knights wearing half-plate ride atop warhorses, lances pointing up in the air casually. Both of these lances bear a banner- a black eagle against a gold field.

Knowledge Nobility DC10 (can make this check untrained, Edric auto-passes this test.):

The banner is of House Orlavsky, Edric's noble house.

Six squires in padded armour follow behind the two knights in a loose wedge formation, lances high in the air. Their horses are less impressive than the knights, and they look less grand, as befits a squire.

Flanking them, two men that look like caravan guards march on either side of the squires, leading their horses- they are dressed in banded mail, wear bucklers and sport heavy crossbows strapped to their backs.

The entourage is slowly approaching you, and they are just about within shouting range at this point.

Minor edits to the description, you may want to re-read it.

The entourage approaches a little closer, and one of the armoured knights takes off his helm. A grizzled face of a man in his mid-thirties squints at the group, before shouting-

Travellers! We mean you no harm! I am Sir Vislinsky, of House Orlovsky, and we seek Sir Edric Orlovsky, a noble scion of our line. Information concerning his whereabouts in these strange lands shall be rewarded, with a purse of gold!

Edric:

You've never heard of a Sir Vislinsky or the Vislinsky family, but then again the Orlovsky have many allies among the other nobles...

Male Human Cavalier (Order of the Dragon) 1

The appearance of representatives of his house, this deep into the Greenbelt, seems to have shaken the Knight but only briefly. Straighten himself in his saddle and raising his lance into the air in salute, Edric spurs Talia forward.
Greetings Sir Vislinsky! You may keep your purse for I am Sir Edric Orlovsky, of the House Orlovsky, Knight of Eagles Watch. What news do you bring Lord Orlovsky, my Uncle.

The knight looks a little uncomfortable at the direct line of questioning...

The information we have been given by Lord Poul is that a letter was sent to you, recalling you to Brevoy. When it became evident you were not answering the summons, he dispatched us to ensure your safety and to provide you with an escort back to Eagle's Watch- the alliance between Orlovsky and the Swordlords of Restov is over.

You find it hard to read their body language at this distance. To Detect Evil you'd have to move ahead of Edric and a lot closer to them, and if any of them are trained in Spellcraft they may understand what your doing. Let me know if you want to do it anyway.

Yes, I would like to return them to Kressle. I believe that with a show of kindness to her from the person that has taken responsibility, it will do much in the long term for her rehabilitation. I understand if you wish to have no part of it though, Mister Leveton.

Bear:
Vaysh smiles at Edric; she nods quietly in acknowledgement.

Riders:
Vaysh smiles to the men coming towards the group, Mayhaps we can break bread together and you can speak to us of what has gone on to the north to bring about these actions. Our trails to this point have been long, I am certain that the trails you have walked have been longer. Let us relax a while and speak to each other of our roads and our reasons.

Vaysh has been quiet since leaving Oleg’s, and with the departure of the other two women has taken company with no one. She spends most of her time starring at the sky or to the horizon in the south when camp has been made. Other than that, she seems to ride along quietly with the group, speaking or responding only when necessary.

Sorry, last week disappeared for me. By the time I realized I hadn’t been here for very long all of my time was gone. Had a very busy week and wasn’t around all the time. I made a quick mention of me not being around too much to Alex at one point (I think) but it was much worse than I expected and it looks like I may have a bad memory of mentioning it to him as he questioned me on my FB account about where I had gone off to. Luckily, Vaysh has been quiet lately anyway, so me missing all of that wasn’t the biggest change.

The entourage moves forward as Sir Vislinsky smiles in response to Vaysh. Malthir they have just moved into Detect Evil range if you wish to use it.

You are most kind My Lady. But I'm afraid we cannot tarry, Edric is urgently needed to the north and the longer he spends here in these Stolen Lands at the behest of the Swordlords, the further he strengthens those treacherous backstabbers! Sir Vislinsky appears to be visibly sweating under the questioning.

I...Well... They...

The Knight pauses, and glances at the other knight who has not yet spoken. As if responding to some unseen signal, the second Knight lowers his lance, tearing off the banner of House Orlovsky and replacing it with a banner displaying a gray ship against a field of blue below and black above, the upper shield spangled with silver stars. The Guardians recognise this as the crest of House Surtova.

Thank you, Sir Nikolaj... The time for trickery is over it seems... Sir Vislinsky says, sighing heavily. Sneering at the Guardians, his mouth twisting in a venomous manner, he shouts to the group-

Your lives could have been spared, you fools. To arms men, slay Orlovsky but take the pretty one alive! I don't care about the rest! For the Dragonscale Throne! For BREVOY!...

The treacherous entourage in front of you draw their weapons and move to attack...

I'm assuming you went for their weapons when they went for theirs, possibly even before when you saw them changing the banner. We'll assume everyone has their weapon of choice in hand along with any shield etc.

Your Humble Narrator

Casimir's arrow flies right into the horse's skull, causing it to neigh in sheer agony. The horse remains standing, albeit barely.

Not worth rolling a ride skill check to use mounted combat to negate it, he auto-fails and has used it up for this round now.

Moments after Casimir's arrow flies through the air, four wolves come baling out of the edge of the tree line howling in fury. The four wolves are in two pairs and begin leaping up in attempts to tear two unlucky squires out of their saddles.

Dice Rolls:

1d20 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7 Attack roll (includes flank)

1d6 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6 Damage if hit
1d20 + 2 ⇒ (19) + 2 = 21 Trip attempt if bite hits

One of the squires escapes the assault with no harm done, while the other pair of wolves viciously savage the poor man, tearing his throat open and pulling him from the saddle.

Sir Vislinsky spurs his mount forward into a lance charge, heading straight for Casimir. As Sir Vislinsky spurs his mount forward, the nearby wolf lashes out at the horse with its jaws...

Landing with perfect grace despite his half-plate. Discarding his Lance, Sir Vislinsky draws a longsword and marches fearlessly towards the group.

Panicing at the new foe within their midst, the squires gang up on the wolves with careful maneuvers, ignoring the Guardians, and strike with their lances from horseback. Only one rider scores a hit on the wily beasts.

Don't look now, Sir knight, but I would say that the odds have just shifted in our favor. You see, we have allies of our own in these lands, Casimir calls down to the now horse-less knight.

Oh, and sorry about your mount. I pains me to harm such a fine animal, but we could not have you running around with that pointy toy of yours - you might hurt someone.

Raising his voice, Casimir calls out to the large group of squires and guards: See how the beasts of the wild fight by our side. Turn and run, while you still can. We won't give chase!

Malthir's words seem to snap Edric out of his confused state,
Deceiver! House Vislinsky with pay for their cowardess and treachery![/d] Edric lowers his lance and with Talia bolts forward. As the Edric drives his lance at Sir Vislinsky he calls out, [b]For House Orlovsky and The Guardians of the Greenbelt!
Issue Challenge to Sir Vislinsky
Charge to (AW,-15)
Attack1d20 + 6 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (19) + 6 + 2 + 1 = 28
Damage2d8 + 6 ⇒ (3, 4) + 6 = 13

Edric, remember this is a possible crit since your crit range just got doubled. a X3 crit that gets doubled, sir pincushion just might be toast with one mighty blow!!!! Also not sure if you added this in or not but you get +1 to hit him since he is not mounted anymore. I want to see the crit!!!!!!!!!

Forgot about the Keen Edge!
Comfirm Crit:1d20 + 6 ⇒ (12) + 6 = 18
Damage4d8 + 9 ⇒ (2, 6, 3, 4) + 9 = 24
I did add the +1 for being mounted but wasn't sure it that gets added to confirm a crit (didn't add the charge either). Let me know if I got the math right for the damage.

To confirm it should be all of your bonuses from the original attack unless AK just rules it differently, this should hurt! Edric, you just had to one up me didn't you, I do 25pts of damage and then you go and do 37! LOL's

Awesome work, you two! Sadly, your math is a bit off on the lance dmg. When several multipliers apply to the same attack, they are added together, not multiplied with each other. The way to think of it is that a x2 adds one weapon damage dice to the roll, a x3 adds two and so forth. So the lance would do 4d8+modifiers dmg in total. DM AK, correct me if I'm wrong here.
