Bendorf picks up the axes and swings them around studying the balance and grace of the weapons.
"Aye these are beauties, I wonder if I can place the workmanship?

Bedlam the Second |

Bedlam shrugs his shoulders at Grumble.
In Dwarven: Well, I be knowing that these ain't belonging here. And I be knowing that these be finely crafted.
I be thinking that you be needing to adopt them weapons, until you find them proper owners

Bendorf nods at Bedlam, an then looks at Morzul and says in Dwarven "I'm no philosopher but I'm not for leaving a rude crummy lot like this with his plunders. But if we are to be keeping what we be finding here, I'm not sure we are ping to be sticking around for any further information they be giving us. If so we need to be putting stuff back in order and be on our ways."

GM BigBusMan |

"Bendorf draws a blank in regards to Knowing anything about these weapons, maybe if he thought harder he could still remember something"
"Bedlam Remembers hearing rumors about a pair of battle axes that fit this description from his weapons crafting teacher..he cant recall the full story or exactly what they were for or where they were suppose to be, but he can tell that these are Dwarven weapons and that they are of fine quality.."
"As the Dwarves discuss what to do about the treasure they hear a small cough behind them, and turn to see a Male Ranger in the doorway behind them, leaning against the door post with his arms crossed and a smile on his face.."
"Helping yourselves to the Foreman's "collection" I see......tsk..tsk..tsk..after he showed you such a warm welcome and all!..you guys should be ashamed of yourselves..
..he lets out a small chuckle and shuts the door so they are alone.

GM BigBusMan |

"Milon Rhoddam's the Name, Hunter, Ranger and woodsman extraordinaire!!..that big windbag sent for me a little while ago and told me there be some strangers in the camp that be wanting to know about the vale..saying they was on an urgent mission or something..at first I told him I wasn't interested, but then I got to thinking..strangers on an urgent mission...could only mean one thing around here at the moment..something i am very interested in...you wouldn't happen to be going after a cure for the Blackscour Taint would ye?..by the way, help yourself to whatever ye can find..I wont be saying a word..that windbag foreman extorts all his "Donations" from weary travelers and the practice makes me rather sick..hes nothing but a money hunger ogre..and I dont LIke OGRE'S!!!"
Milon laughs..

Bendorf examines the batlleaxes one last time admiring the craftsmanship still struggling to see I he can recognize anything about these weapons.
Perception: 1d20 ⇒ 13
Knowledge History: 1d20 ⇒ 9
If he does not remember anything about the weapons he slips them in his pack and turns to Milon and says, "Well met laddie, I be Bendorf Grumblebum of the Dwarven Clans of the Northern Realm, but you can call me Grumble We be indeed searching for a cure to what ails the townsfolk. Might you be helpin us in our quest?"

GM BigBusMan |

Bendorf recalls something about a pair of Dwarven brothers with enchanted battle axes..something about one killed goblins and one killed wolves..but cant recall anymore than that..he thinks that there names were the same as the ones engraved on the box..but he cant be sure.
" Aye that i will...you see my nephews in town and he is ill with this stuff, I've been out here looking for some medicinal herbs to help..but healing isn't my forte'..any assistance i can provide i will do so!"

Bedlam the Second |

Bedlam relaxes as the fellow Ranger explains his position.
In Dwarven: And you be knowing this woods? We be needing to find the 'oldest tree' in these woods for starters.
Bedlam waits to see if he is understood at all by the Ranger.
perception: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (18) + 10 = 28
He also looks him over to appraise him of his armor, weapons, and to notice his skill set form attire and stance.
perception: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (9) + 10 = 19
In Dwarven-only if he did understand, otherwise in Common--
We are interested in helping yer town folk be assured!
Bedlam takes a look at Grumble as he stores the Dwarven axes away.
But we do be having a right to these weapons more than this Boss! These belong to the Clan, not some human trash!

GM BigBusMan |

The ranger looks at Bedlam and smiles:
Bedlam Can tell by his items that he is a Expert1/Ranger2 and that he has the normal skill set of someone of that class

Bedlam the Second |

Bedlam bows to the Ranger.
In Dwarven:
We be trusting you, Milon Rhoddam, and welcome your assistance in pointing out the way to this 'tree'
In Common:
We be needing his help and I be thinking it is a boon to us

Bedlam the Second |

Bedlam rummages through his pouch, bringing out his notes made in the Herb shop.
Bedlam speaks in Dwarven:
Let me see here. The Lady told us--Elderwood Moss...which she never even heard of...but her granny says here that the stuff only grows on the oldest tree in the forest. The second is a specially pickled root called "Rat's Tail"...which again sounds like HooJoo to her...and seven "IronBloom" Mushrooms...they are stunty little things that only grow in dark places thick with metal...they are a favorite among Dwarves...or so she hears..."
He looks up at Milon.
She also said something about a Hag in the Vale and some ruins in the mountains, I believe. Cold Eyes, you be remembering anything else?

GM BigBusMan |

Milon removes a piece of parchment from his pack and a pencil, he begins to draw out a crude map.."
"Here is a map to the oldest tree, its pretty much right in the center of the vale, as for where you will find Ironbloom, she was right, the old Dwarven monastery in the hills is you're best best, I will mark its location on this map as well..and that old hag's hut is right over here..I haven't seen her wandering in the vale in quite a long while, but be careful if you go visit her..shes a nasty old thing and from what I can tell doesn't like visitors..
I haven't heard from Rikkil in a long while, I sent a PM asking if he was still in, and haven't received a response..so i guess I will give him a few more days to see, if not..we will have to either forge on with what we have or look for a replacement member.

Bedlam the Second |

I was actually wondering the same thing...I think if needed the 5 of us can keep it going...we ain't scared...r we?...lol
Bedlam watches Milon draw the map, while listening intently to his instructions.
In Dwarven:
We be in yer debt, brother of Nature. Ye be needing something in return after this venture, ye let meself know1
Bedlam turns to the group.
We be leaving through the back and hustling away, my friends. That Boss will be a real bugger if we be meeting him again I bet!

![]() |

"Thank you for your help Milon, if we can be of any help to you let us know. Now let us be on our ways boys, and which way might that be by the way? I'm thinking the Dwarven Monastary might be a good place to start."

Bedlam the Second |

Bedlam takes a look outside the back before leaving.
perception: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (20) + 10 = 30
Bedlam turns to Grumble as they exit through the back door.
In Dwarven: Me thinks that whichever is closer--tree or ruins--is where we start. I be thinking we let the Hag be last!

GM BigBusMan |

"As you study the map you realize that the Oldest tree is the closest, the hags hut isn't very far away either..but the ruins look to be over a days journey to the north..it is nearing mid afternoon as the group quietly leaves the lumber camp..heading towards the spot on the map marked "Oldest Tree"..Milon bids you farewell and promises that he will keep any of the mills hired thugs from following you, but that it would not be wise to ever again enter the camp and as you get just far enough away from the camp that it can no longer be seen..you here the chime of the silver bell ring out clear as day as if you were standing next to it still..it is safe to assume that the foreman has discovered that his "Donations" have been taken..

Bedlam the Second |

Bedlam moves through the woods as if he belongs there. When the bell chimes, he just takes a quick look back, but he continues toward their destination.
We be heading deeper into this woods. I suggest we be alert as we don't know what lives here.
perception: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (4) + 10 = 14
lol...lesson learned...turn over everything!

![]() |

maybe our hobbit friend will be making an appearance after the weekend.
Bendorf pulls out the axes found in the camp and readies them as they walk.
"Aye, we be ready for some trouble!

GM BigBusMan |

I will be gone most of the afternoon, when i get home tonight i will set up the next part of the adventure..you are all heading to the tree correct?..we can switch over to the Pyromancer Maps now if you guys wish, or I can keep doing them in google..its up to you guys, but i like the pyromancer site..I wish we could all use that Maptools program, that was a cool program"

GM BigBusMan |

You spend the rest of the afternoon Tromping through the woods following the map that Milon drew you, as evening starts to come, you hear the sounds of water through the trees, you realize that you are close to a lake that Milon Drew on the map, and you know that in order to get to where you are going, you will have to follow the shoreline to the northeast and continue on around to the other side. Not far from the edge of the forest-shrouded lake, you enter a clearing..As you move closer to the lake you notice that a fox with large ears and bright orange fur lies bleeding, its hindquarters caught fully in the jaws of a crude iron trap.

Bedlam the Second |

Bedlam immediately holds up his hand for silence.
He then begins peering intently at the ground around the fox, looking for what type of predator may have did this.
