Greetings and salutations. I'd like to run a module for people that are new to D&D or Pathfinder.
Premises:
- * You are a beginner to D&D and/or Pathfinder
* You can commit to at least one posting every other day
* You would like to run a pre-made adventure -- D0 Hollow's Last Hope in this case
* That adventure will be relatively short -- enough to give you an introduction
* I am not an expert PbP GM, but I'm willing to fake it
* This may lead to follow on modules or a longer campaign
It would not surprise me greatly to find that not enough new folks are interested enough to form a 6 person group. If that should prove true after some days, I'll welcome veteran players who are interested in a diversion.
As for character creation rules, they are simple:
- * Pick a name. First names only are OK at this point.
* Create stats as per the 20 point buy system
* All Paizo material is allowed for race. I own quite a bit of 3rd party now as well, so if you are curious about something from another publisher, run it by me.
* Starting gold: 150gp
* Pick 2 traits

@Derek Either is fine by me, although you may want to delay briefly to consider what the rest of the group is playing. My style, though, is that I'd rather play with what players really want rather than have players take poorer choices to achieve role "balance". No cleric for to healz? No problem! No sneaky thief to open treasure boxes? No problem! No wizard for to confound enemies and control monsters? No problem!
No up-front melee type? OK, maybe problem.

Shub-Niggurath's cousin Al |

Just got done creating my character. Say hello to Rikkil, the bitter old Ratfolk historian!

GM Storycrafter |

Well, at this point, it looks like we have 5 people interested, so please post away with your ideas. I'm not going to be critical of race and class choices other than to make sure we have "legal" characters -- see my earlier comment about forced choices. If you need help rolling up a character, don't be afraid to ask. Otherwise, please just follow the guidelines above and share your characters here in this thread
As for a longer campaign, there are a couple of "Kobold King" modules which are natural follow-on's to D0. We could also branch at just about any point and go off-roading into the great wild yonder of Golarion.
Edit: Heh, ninja'd by Al. I'll follow up on the discussion thread.

GM Storycrafter |

@Oswin I'll take a look at all of the characters to date ASAP, including yours. Thanks for creating it and yes, indeedy, PFS rules were the guideline.
@Fyren We could probably start within a few days. By end of the week is my hope.
We could still take one more signup, and I'd like to see everyone "checking in" with their character or otherwise posting in the discussion thread so that we know who's in-in and can sort out the characters.

Fulito Ferrywarden |

I have a character idea for this (well actually the same one that started this adventure but ended up dying before we really started).
thing is...I will galdly step aside to allow a new person be in the game. I would rather see more new people get into games first.
the preliminary stuff is in the profile and the backstory kinda leads him to sandpoint but...with his innate lack of direction sense, he could have ended up anywhere.
Thought of giving him the leadership feat and his chort would be named Thomas Thomas...

GM Storycrafter |

OK, here's where we're at so far:
People I have characters for:
- RyckyRych
- Derek
- Fyren
- Al
- Krash4031
- Fulito
- Necrotizing
People I would definitely like to have play as they are new to Pathfinder:
- Derek
- Al
- Necrotizing Barbarian
That leaves 3 slots. I'd like to give theMortimer and Ptolmaeus another day to get a chance to submit characters. I'm inclined to give preference to Fyren and theMortimer for the remaining slots given that they are new to online play. Either way, I should be able to finalize the party by Wednesday evening.
We actually have enough to field 2 parties, so it might be in the realm of possibility to run the same module with two campaigns concurrently.

Ptolmaeus Arvenus |

Same here, I'd rather the newbies get a chance to have fun.
EDIT: If you're willing to do two parties, it might be a good idea to stick Fulito into one and me into the other if you're willing to have us along. We could help take some of the strain off your shoulders if need be, mostly fielding questions and the like. In the end it is up to you, I'll write up the Alchemist for you.

Ptolmaeus Arvenus |

Here is my crunch, I'll fill in the fluff in a minute but the basic idea is that he is a wandering surgeon with a worrying talent for hurting people as well.

Ptolmaeus Arvenus |

Outside of the city, he rapidly found his skills in great demand. Most peasants got their health care from the local wisewoman, or cleric. Effective in many cases but not the sort of systematic and pragmatic medical care needed to improve one’s quality of life. He did learn a thing or two out in the countryside and decided to follow his oath to help those he had been charged with while expanding his own knowledge.
Of course, as he rapidly learned, a wealthy looking doctor such as himself would prove to be a favorite target of brigands and highwaymen. After two robbery attempts, the first depriving him of much of his personal possessions and the second much less successful, Dr. Iverness learned that he was as good at inflicting injury as he was at repairing it. A well placed blade could make the difference between someone depriving you of valuable medical equipment and you getting to walk on and potentially save a few lives.
His recent arrival in Andoran was not what you would describe as exciting but he had heard rumors of illness in the area that he both wanted to learn about and ply his trade on. Thusly, Dr. Iverness set his course for Falcon’s Hollow in the hope of earning some coin.
The life of a wandering doctor has certainly not brought him any wealth and his clothing reflects this. He usually wears a long and threadbare black cassock as a coat. It was given to him as payment for diagnosing and treating the illness of a local priest’s daughter and keeps the rain and cold off of him well enough. He wears it open over a white tunic and black trousers. His pack has also seen better days and has obviously been repaired several times after inopportune rips and tears.
”I will preserve the purity of my art.”
So he often helps those who do not have the means to pay him back despite his cold pragmatism in many other aspects of his life.

OK, Just realized that the Synthesis summoner is not a sanctioned PFS character, so I have several other ones to use as well, I'M relatively new to pathfinder, I've only been involved in one other game, I want to GM this particular module for my kids, and i am interested in running it with you guys first.

![]() |

I would like to play for sure, Ive only ever GM'd for my kids at the house, but if you want I would try to have a go at doing it on here, Im not sure how to do maps on here, but if you can explain id be more than happy to try my hand at GM..up to you though. I'm on here several times a day and Im pretty active.

Don't believe you can have embedded maps here unless you're an ascii artist Fed. :) You can choose to rely on maptools or some other third party app but sometimes, one's imagination can be a rather powerful tool!

GM Storycrafter |

Wow, this group is raring to go. My apologies for not kicking things off last night -- something came up that prevented my presence at the keyboard.
At this point, it looks like we'll be splitting off into two groups with 2 games running. One run by Fedorean and one by myself. I'm waiting confirmation from him regarding this. If this is the way we go, and assuming that no one objects, we'll split the applications into 2 evenly mixed groups of veterans and new players.
If Fedorean declines, I'll round out the original party and we'll get started.

GM Storycrafter |

Unless there are any objections, here is how I propose we proceed:
Party "1"
Tobian
Oswin
Belrick
Ptolmaeus
Fedorean
Party "2"
Rikkil
Morzul
Fulito
Cold Eyes
These groups were chosen with an eye towards mixing new player with veteran, and to try to keep something of a balance between class types.
Players in party 1, will you please proceed to our discussion thread and sound off so I know you're still with us. Players in party 2 can check in with GM BigBusMan on his new campaign recruitment thread.
GM BigBusMan and I may be sharing notes and campaign resources. Maybe we can cook up some sort of interplay between the groups down the road.

GM Storycrafter |

Big_Ben, there may very well be. Can you prepare a character and check in on GM BigBusMan's thread? Assuming everyone else is still on board, that will mean 2 groups of 5 players.
