Finally, there is a dark haired women, sitting in a makeshift armchair up near the "pulpit" She's on the map.
Adria bows to her and says...

![]() |

Very well, dear. Come along and rest now. But please, do not leave the chapel like that again without telling me. We were worried sick, and almost sent a search part for you!
Turning to you all, Winter says Welcome. I am Winter Klaczka. It's fall to me to defend these survivors, here in the chapel where we can be safe. You must be tired. Come, sit and we will find you something to eat. This is a safe place to sleep also. Safe from the nightmares. I do not recommend that you try to sleep outside the walls of this chapel though.
So, welcome. You may stay here. And if you can lend a hand, please do!

Seara Glak |

"Do we trust them? Are they even real? Is this real?"
Seara keeps her look firm, "what sort of help do you need?"

Narcizia Nastase |

"Oh, you look quite good for someone trapped in a chapel surrounded by yellow mist~", Narcizia whistles. "I'm Narcizia Nastase and...Thats all i know about myself at the moment.", she laughs. "Have you any idea of where we are or did you just woke up at this place one day like the rest of us?"

![]() |

@Narcizia: “Ha, No, I'm not a patient. I’m Winter Klaczka, a sister of Maiden’s Choir Cathedral in Caliphas. My associates and I were helping a Royal Accuser investigate "strangeness read: adventure hook!" in Thrushmoor.” She looks Narcizia over. And you don't look to bad yourself. Though I see you could do with a shower!
@Seara You look around and notice there are a few ways to help:
-Prepare Firewood: it's getting low
-Prepare Food: you can smell food wafting from a kitchen to the NE
-Calm and Medicate: a man in one corner of the chapel appears to be having some kind of nervous breakdown. A lady (nurse) is trying to calm him down.

Volco Sissorba |

"Lend a hand? I surely can lend a hand. Just give me a place to set up shop. Name's Volco Sissorba, I'm a trained medical professional. Of sorts."
Volco moves towards the agitated man, taking some valeriana root out of his thousand pockets.
Taking 10 on Heal for a 15.
"What's happened, Nurse? Are there any recurrent symptoms? Any undeath phenomena?"

Ungebrochen |

The dwarf seems wary at first but then he sees the low firewood. Looking at his axe he shrugs and moves toward the logs.[b]"I will make us somewood, will I. No worries. But if someone wants to help... be my guest.

Mackenzie Skye |

@Volco The Nurse responds: Yes, this patient suffers from auditory hallucinations. Clams he hears his twin sister calling for him. But she died years go. His name is Loic. What's that you have, Valeriana root? Wonderful! If Only I could get him calmed down enough to take it...
Loic thrashes and howls: No...no!!!! Leave me be!!!!

![]() |

Ungebrochen soon has the fires roaring. If only he had a wild boar, you would all feast like dwarven kings!

Volco Sissorba |

"Can calm him, alright."
Taking the isopropyl alcohol, Volco sprinkles it over a rag and presses it over Loic's nose. It was used as an anesthetic, not as good as ether or chloroform but it should work.
"I can see two possible causes for the hallucinations." he says, ignoring Loic's thrashing. "It may be some effect of the mist, or he may actually be hearing her. We've ment with undead creatures earlier on, he may be hearing from across the veil."
Grapple?: 1d20 ⇒ 15

Winnova Dalca |

Winnova's first instinct is to try to help calm down the patient, but she sees Volco has it under control, though she's not sure she approves of his methods.
She then looks in the direction of the kitchen,
"Anyone know how to cook? I could try to help but I'm no chef."

Volreg Sundek |

Sorry, Internet has been causing me issues!
"Lady person, I have a question!" the man blurts out once she stops speaking. "The nightmares, they do not come here? Even in dreams?"

Seara Glak |

Seara will walk around the Chapel, looking for a different way out.
"is there a different way out of this place? Do you know what happened here? How did we end up here?"
I feel scared. This is not the horror I know

Ungebrochen |

Ungebrochen moves to the alter and offers a prayer to Pharasma. He than walks around checking the stonework, checking for doors and stopping as he sees the small alcove to offer his prayers to Desna, too. One never knows when you need some goods help. But upon hearing the questions he walks to winter he has just two questions.
"Maylady Winter, I just hear the name Ungebrochen whispered in my ear, do you know my real name? And why by Torags Hammer am I here?"

Tyrithe the Dreamer |

As Lady Winter introduces herself Tyrithe wanders over to the statue of Desna, where the music in his mind was calmer. The elf felt some of the tension drain out of his shoulders, and softly he whispers a prayer. "Song of the Spheres, friend of my Lady of Mists, this wanderer finds himself in a dark place. Please smile upon me and all those with me."
Approaching the one Adria had named Captain Vaustin, the archer introduces himself. "Apologies for any interruption, but I was hoping that you might have a store of arrows available? My supply dwindles a bit more rapidly than I would like."

Volco Sissorba |

After the patient is sedated, VOlco strolls over to Winter.
"I have questions as well. Of course, as Ungebrochen said, I'd like to know why I'm here without any memory. Who I am is less important. M rationality and my knowledges are intact, I care little about memories and feelings."
"But most of all, I'm interested in that mist outside, and the creatures lurking in it. The color suggests xanthosis, but it does not look like an alchemical process. More like some eldritch manifestation."
"Oh, and about the library, likely the most important place we could be. Adria mentioned some sort of evil presence, like an eye. Know anything about it?"

![]() |

@Volreg Yes, my Varisian friend, the nightmares are kept at bay within these chapel walls. I've investigated the source of this protection, and it appears to be centered on the statue of Desna in that alcove. Thus, even though I am a cleric of a relatively puritan school of Pharasmic service, I've allowed it to remain.

![]() |

@Seara @Ungebrochen The only way in or out of this chapel is the front door, as far as we know. As for who you are, I'm sorry, I don't know. you won't be the first ones to lose a piece of themselves here. If you were patients, there must be some record of why you were committed. Quest Hook: Doctor Eliege Losandro was the Hospital Administrator. Perhaps there are patient records in her office.

Captain Vaustin...
@Tyrithe Ah, an elven archer! We are glad to have another skilled bow-arm here. You can't believe the monsterous beings we've encountered over the past 24 hours. Hold on a second... Captain Vaustin fetches white feathered arrow from a sachel bag which he had stashed under a pew. Here, take this. I expect you will be able to use it better than I. I found it on the corpse of a strange humanoid nighmare monster that tried to attack us last night!

@Volco Yes, I expect you do have many questions. I'll tell you what I know...
the mist and monsters
Just a few days ago a patient led an uprising. It wasn’t like any riot I’ve ever heard of, though. It was more like a religious movement. Most of the northern halls are now held by robed patients who call themselves Apostles in Orpiment. Those we’ve encountered are fanatically devoted to a patient named Ulver Zandalus. I’ve never laid eyes on
this Ulver Zandalus person, but some of the other survivors worked here before the uprising. They say Zandalus was a quiet
man who suffered from horrible nightmares—a poet and artist whose art was disturbing, but who always seemed peaceful enough himself. All of that apparently changed, though.
And the mist and monsters? I don’t know wherever they all came from, they emerged soon after the revolt. What’s strange is that some of the patients and asylum staff say that, in the nights before the uprising, they had nightmares of exactly the sorts of things that stalk the halls now
the eye QUEST HOOK:
“Adria tells the truth. I… I don’t know what it is. We’ve left it alone and it hasn’t bothered us. Don’t tell the others about it, though. I don’t what to upset the children or any of our more delicate souls. Things are bad enough without that. I can have captain Vaustin lead you to it, if you wish to see this "eye" for yoursleves.

Seara Glak |

Seara gives herself a one over, realizing that she feels disgusting and probably hasn't showered in a long while.
"The boiler would be a good thing to get done first, then finding out who we are. The children would appreciate the hot water and it would be nice to do something to help out."
Seara will inspect the arrow just handed to Tyrithe, then turn back to Winter.
"So there the prison is as a war zone to religious zealots and being held by unknown horrors?"
"This gets worse and worse, I need to get out of here, my sanity is breaking"

Volco Sissorba |

"Can't really sanction choosing comfort over knowledge, but I guess hot water could help. Can sanitize wounds, make herbal infusions. After that, I say we head for the library. The sooner we make sense of all of it, the sooner we can deal with it."
Taking his alchemy kit out, Volco starts brewing something. "Give me some time to prepare, please. We need to be ready."
Brewing a Dexterity mutagen.

Alright! To the boiler room!
Winter gives you directions, and you set out back across the courtyard, and into the hospital.
A left...a right...right...down...right...left, and you find yourself outside of a large door marked "Boiler Room".

Seara Glak |

perception: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (20) + 3 = 23
Seara with sword in hand will slowly open the door to the boiler room. Her hand shaking a little as she grips the nob of the door and turns.
"Can't be that bad, just little rats, I can crush them under foot. Just little rats."

Ungebrochen |

Walking with the others toward the boiler room, the young dwarf wonders about the importance of warm water, but then the humans are strange.
Do they not know that washing to often is bad for facial hair?
Perc: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (13) + 8 = 21
Lifting his hand infront of the door, Ungebrochen waits till he gets the others attention. "One of my ancestors is always with me. I think it is time to introduce him. He is quite a scout."
With that Ungebrochen asks his Phantom to emerge, incorporal, and check beyond the door. A shade of a muscular wise old dwarf stands before him for a moment and then move out.
Getümmel will float through the door and check on the other side
Perc: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 = 9

Tyrithe the Dreamer |

Perception: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (9) + 10 = 19 With a sudden tilt of his head, Tyrithe motions towards the door & whispers "Movement, small creatures. Rats or insects maybe. Careful now."
Assuming someone else opens the door while he covers with bow...
Slowly sweeping the room, Tyrithe strains to interpret the low, tense music throbbing in his ears. Though his knuckles are white from the grim on the bowstave, the arrow's deadly point remains steady.

Narcizia Nastase |

Perception: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (17) + 4 = 21
"Do you hear that? Sounds like mice...", she stops as Seara opens the door and Ungebrochen sends...something, to investigate. "Ohhh! Interesting~"
Perception: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (20) + 4 = 24

Haha, I would be pretty surprised by Ungebrochen's apparition!
Two giant-rat shaped beings hunker over a corpse. Sloppy flesh-consuming sounds can be heard, but as the beings turn to look at you, you see that the sloppy sounds are actually coming from the tangled mess of tendrils that each has where it's mouth should be. As they turn to look at you, you notice their eyes shine like flashlights, casting beams of light around the room. Very otherworldly and eerie...
There is a small bag which has rolled under the boiler. It appears to have burst open and it's contents are strewn about under their: smallish spherical objects, about 15 of them.
Winnova: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 = 9
Volreg: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (11) + 5 = 16
Tyrithe: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (9) + 3 = 12
Narcizia: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (17) + 2 = 19
