Our discussion thread for this game... so... any ideas what do you want to do first? Or where do you want to go first?

I have like 1200cr. Non-MARS characters only start with 4d6x100, I think (or somewhere thereabouts). Frankly, I don't think we can pool the cash to get any of the vehicles depicted in the book. We can buy a pickup truck or something and carpool, but the question becomes how we're getting the GB around.
It'd be nice if we could hand-wave it for our first outing. If we do end up using the Mercenaries adventure there isn't a lot of need for long-range travel that I recall.
There's also the "boot camp" adventure out of Merc Adventures, but I don't like it very much.

Lol.
Lets fashion a Glitterboy saddle so we can ride on your shoulders :D
Sounds good to me. Just don't straddle my boomgun. That might be awkward for some less mature people. Probably me. I'd be chortling the whole trip.
On a more serious note, I didn't actually have to spend any money on my gear so I have 2400 credits I can pool towards a vehicle, but I'm actually more for "Acquiring" a vehicle from the bad guys. Free cars>paid for cars, especially when anti-tank guns are being fired nearby.

Ok, getting there.
About the transportation, the Tomorrow Legion can provide some kind of transportation, second hand of course, at cost.
Big Boss ATV: A popular choice in the wilds of North America. It has no standard weapons, but there’s a top hatch with plenty of space for a mounted weapon of some kind.
The electric engine has a range of 300 miles.
The interior is roomy enough to handle four regular-sized passengers and their cargo for a long journey. As many as seven could be squeezed in, but vital cargo would have to be strapped to the outside with the rest left behind.
Big Boss ATV: Size 4, Acc/TS 15/60,
Toughness 23 (12), Crew 1+3, Remaining Mods 2
Notes: All-Terrain, M.D.C. Armor
Yours for just 10,000 credits.
-------------------
Mountaineer ATV: The Mountaineer is expensive, but most consider it a bargain in the long run. It’s tough, roomy, and well-equipped, and its special three-wheeled design gives it remarkable handling. This electric engine version has a range of 600 miles.
Mountaineer ATV: Size 5, Acc/TS 10/50 (Maximum speed 120 mph), Toughness 25 (14), Crew 1+5, Remaining Mods 5
Notes: All-Terrain, Handling 1, Environmental Systems, M.D.C. Armor, Sensor Suite
Yours for just 25,000 credits.
--------------------
And there is always walking, or horses (cheap and dependable) for prices ranging from 200 (I swear it is not sick and about to die) to 2,000 credits (trained, strong and intelligent).

Another thing: The Tomorrow Legion don't see in good eyes his members to go around Mad-Max style murdering people for their stuff. Not even "probably" bad guys.
Remember, even the "grunts" from the coalition are not evil. They are innocent pawns in a war of survival, lead by their evil government. They are NOT XP bags, or resupply caches.
You are the good guys, in a very evil world.

Found some images, to "close" the sale.
Big Boss
Mountaineer
SDC Trucks? If you have handy with engines, you can try and repair one, cheaper than a horse. But it won't make you any good, as there are no roads anymore. For that, a horse is a better "investment".
Remember, you all can drive "passably". You only need to roll to make "stunts".

So Carl buys a Big Boss. Do you all fit in there?
The Glitter boy can walk along, of course.

About that... yes, you can remain days inside it, but it is not hygienic, comfortable or nice.
Yes, you go out to eat, sleep, go to the bathroom or watch the sunset.
I know everybody attacks the Glitterboy when he is outside of his armor, but you have to concede is the best time to attack them.

The wearer enjoys full life support conditions, including feeding tubes, water supply, and waste processing, providing acceptable living conditions for up to four weeks if needed. This is far from comfortable, and a pilot remaining in a suit longer than 72 hours risks serious muscle atrophy and other issues. After three days in the suit, the pilot must roll a Vigor check each day to avoid gaining a Fatigue level (he does not, however, risk Exhaustion or worse). A full day out of the suit restores this Fatigue. Regardless of this challenge, if the choice is death or stay in the suit, a month’s survival time is good to have available.
The operating word is "can". Yes, he can. It is not pretty, or recommended.
I expect Solaire to avoid staying inside the cockpit for a whole month because he is too scared of the world to show his face outside.
Sounds good?

I have 900 credits to my name... if that helps I'll throw it in. It wasn't enough to buy anything at all really so I just thought I'd save it all...
So Glitterboys have a speed of 10? Gavryn's speed is 11. So a walking Glitterboy does about 6 miles an hour or about 11 mph when running? Is that right?

For starters Carl Lucian will buy a Big Boss for himself, and that is it.
Getting ready to start...
