What buffs do you cast? Who gets behind the tables? Xi'Tir goes to investigate? What weapons do you draw? You got 3 rounds...
"Something is very wrong here! " - Xritha, Kiritta's small Lyrakien familiar says while flying down over you all - " I tried to fly over the treetops to see around, but I couldn't... Not that something stopped me, but that the treetops seemed to go up and up forever... I flew up quite some time before giving up... "

Kiritta Narvagoth |

How much time did we have? A blessing of the harrow takes 10 minutes. If we had this much time, I would have performed one for everyone within 20'.
When Xritha return, Kiritta looks to the others:
I do not believe that we can fly out of here, Xritha says that the trees go up much much farther than they appear to go.

Ni'Tir and Chimalma |

Unless something interrupts this action the following occurs. ;D
As Danath puts together the tables
Ni'tir smiled then. "Yes Commanda', I'll see what be comin den." As soon as she finished speaking her body starts to change her arms crack as her bones rearrange themselves. Her skin becomes scaly and her clothing absorbs into her quickly changing body. The little fairies words had convinced her that something big was needed and her usually tall body begins to grow far beyound it's normal size.
In a matter of seconds she finishes changing, becoming a huge creature that towered over the debris littered field and stood on two powerful legs with a pair of wickedly strong forearms. Becoming such a rare carnivore was a real treat for Ni'Tir, it had been so long since she flexed her might and now she could test its strength. She sniffed the air and watched the first world trees where the cold was possibly coming from.
Her massive tail whips around as she stomps clear of their makeshift barricade, going off to investigate what was coming for them.
Perception-Speed 50 ft: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (9) + 10 = 19
She does however gain low-light vision, scent, pounce, rake , grab
Her stats changes: Str 20 (+5) Dex 9 (-1) Natural Armor +6 giving her an ac of 20. She takes up a 15 ft space and have reach 15ft

Danath Orlovsky |

Been a long time since you released that brute :p
With their Barricade in place and Ni'Tir turning into some monstrous creature, Danath couldn't help but shutter at the form she chose. He'd never seen the like before and even knowing her ability it left him wondering what else she could become. "Looks deadly enough..."
Hearing Kiritta's words he frowns. "Then the palace is our best bet once we see what is coming for us. Prepare for combat everyone! We have little time and I doubt Ni'Tir will stop whatever is coming on her own..."
Nothing else I can do until combat starts as everything I have lasts anywhere from 6-8 turns =/

Kiritta Narvagoth |

Kiri turns to Danath:
Stay close. I have a spell that will allow seven of us to move much quicker. But, all who are affected must remain within about 30' of each other. Those farther away I will not be able to affect. The spell does not last long, but can greatly increase the effectiveness of those with blades and other martial capabilities.

![]() |

How much time did we have? A blessing of the harrow takes 10 minutes. If we had this much time, I would have performed one for everyone within 20'.
She can always try... But for what she can see, she doesn't have that much time :P

Edeldhur |

Usually calm, Edeldhur's voice becomes imperious as the sounds approach - "I will soon disappear from sight, but stay close friends, and you will feel yourselves surge with lightning speed. I will most likely conjure an ally to fight by our side - I will inform you if I do so, do not become alarmed - whatever is coming, it will feel our mettle!"
Ok, now I am hurting because I haven't finished my character yet, but here we go:
Round 1: Mage Armor
Round 2: Invisibility
Round 3: Extended Haste [14 rounds, I THINK I can affect all of us, but we are so many :D], and move away from the main group.
EDIT: And so the caster overlap begins... I'll replace my haste with simply moving away from the group, and readying a Web spell to be thrown at whatever comes crashing through the trees.

![]() |

Well, is a test drive, so you start to see how to work together, which of you overlap and can go in different teams, all of that...

![]() |

Well, is a test drive, so you start to see how to work together, which of you overlap and can go in different teams, all of that...
Edeldhur Haste would only affect 7 persons.
There are 12 of you, Rupert Surtova, Rudolf Aldori III, and the representatives of the Cenobitic Order and the Oracle's Shadow. Between Kiritta and Edeldhur you can Haste everybody except the Representatives, which are no Fighters.
Arv Akul'mar |

Arv reaches for a flask at his hip, and chugs it.. He draws his sword, and loosens his cravat as his musculature bulks up. He then pulls a vial from his bandolier of potions, and holds it in his left hand.
Rd1 Drinking mutagen +4str, -2Int, +2 natural armor + draw sword
Rd2 Positioning and readying Enlarge Person extract.

Venetia Medvyed |

Venetia will take out her flail and shield and ready herself to protect those around her. She then instructs those around her, "If anything moves to attack us, surround it."
Round 1 draw flail and shield
Round 2 battlefield presence (Outflank) and movement
Round 3 any movement as necessary to position herself directly between the rest of the group and the approaching creature, and cast Compel Hostility - last 5 rounds.

Kiritta Narvagoth |

I automatically get a FRA every surprise round.
Already cast - Mage Armor - I cast this as soon as the presence was known, although I assume that both Edelhur and I would have probably cast this ahead of time since it lasts 7 hours.
Surprise Round - Haste - 7 rounds. I will hit the main fighters.
-->Rupert, Venetia, Arv, Danath, Kaldwell, Szymon and Marius.
Round 1 - probably a pit of some sort if the monster is susceptible to such.

![]() |

No surprise round, three rounds to prepare, then all hell break loose.
A bunch of dark big birds fly over your head, escaping from the thing approaching you... Suddenly a huge explosion of fire illuminates the dark woods, some 30' outside of the clearing, in the direction of whatever is coming towards you!
Some of you hear a clattering noise coming from near you... The representative of the Cenobitic Order teeth are making it. Saul Magill, the representative of the Oracle's Shadow stands from behind the tables, and starts moving, involuntarily, towards the path leaving the clearing where you are...
Rupert gets his sword and tells you all...
"In case we can't beat this one, a couple of us will delay it while the rest runs towards the castle... Some 50' back another two waits for us retreating, and that way we keep going, taking turns, as long as we can... Master Marius, will you do me the honors in case it is needed? "

Marius du'Caat |

Marius nods.
"The line will hold," He turns to the rest of the [i]Riders[i], Danath, Arv and Ni'Tir. "Form up our right flank. Don't let us be enveloped, keep the line of retreat clear."
To the witches he shouts: "If they're flying, light them up. If they're on the ground, slow the down."
He looks at the Heroes of Restov.
"Time to prove your loyalty to our King. Protect him with your life. Don't let him out of your sight."
He shifts his grip on his longsword, so that it is in two hands and prepares to challenge the first wave of foes.
By challenge I mean use Dazzling Display. My intimidate skill is +18, feel free to roll it for me when you're ready.

Szymon Wojcik |

Szymon slowly draws his favorite sword and walks to put the tables between him and the approaching creature(s). The preparatory casting from Eledhur is well-practiced. He enjoys the familiar surge of Haste.
He sighs in reply to Rupert feeling that he is giving up before we even see the foe and holds a sharp retort for new liege. What is with these people? Is it really the first time that they are facing approaching unknown doom? Really? Maybe they should have recruited more veterans. He steps closer to Rupert.
"Now, let's see what the First World Welcoming Committee looks like."

Janus Sevenstar |

Despite being a bit... shell-shocked by the lose of his connection to Erastil, Janus quickly recalls that other entities also fuel his magic. As far as he knows, Old Deadeye - while a big source of the better part of his powers - is not responsible for the fact that the half-elf was haunted by the deceased. Neji often jokes that some personification of Death itself holds that honor, and as far as Janus knows, it is very possible to beat the life out of a fairy. Additionally, a good degree of his magic has always been internal and arcane. His mother Skyla had taught a young Janus a few things about the Sevenstar family line and its mysterious connection to the old Thassilonian empire, and Noelle has taught him a couple of tricks in their together as well.
As such, Janus begins to draw from the remaining sources of his powers and quickly finds that he has plenty of fight still in him. After getting his weapon and shield secure, the haunted healer begins coating himself in magic. Looking over the frontliners assembled, Janus quickly centers himself in the middle of the group so he can move about and heal as necessary.
"I will try to keep everyone on their feet," says Janus as he begins to ready a spell for when the enemy arrives.
Round 1: Janus draws his shield out if he hasn't already. He casts Mirror Image on himself.
Mirror Image Replicas: 1d4 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4
Round 2: Janus casts Shield of Faith on himself.
Round 3: Janus readies a Prayer spell.

Kiritta Narvagoth |

Suddenly Kiri's mind drifts back upon the harrowing from earlier in the day:
The Past:
"An Eclipse - doom that came to our enemies, and plunged them into darkness and despair."
"The Publican - they found refuge and were saved."
"The Lost - a place where time has no meaning and the way to destroy them disappeared."
Right now:
"The Sickness - a way to destroy them."
"The Queen Mother - a need to bow to the power, at least for now."
"The Dance - the establishment working against us."
The Future:
"The Snakebite. a need to do what you don't want, what harms you, in order to succeed. Embrace the poison? Make a jump?
"The Wanderer - we must depend on separating the good on the bad, friend from foe."
"The Owl - the enemy knows you, is seeing you, knows what will happen. It already knows how this ends. How can you prevail against it? What is the meaning of the thread? What does it signifies?"
Kiri considers this quickly as the enemy approaches.
The doom that came to our enemies could be the fey. The fey found refuge in the stolen lands. Now, we are in the lands of the fey where time has no meaning. Where nothing can be destroyed.
How to kill them? Poison, no, that is not an option. Good people do not use poison. However, the Queen Mother. We need to bow to the power. Perhaps this is the fey eldest that controls this part of the First World. One we must bow to and acknowledge. And the Dance. This would be the First World itself. The establishment which the Eldest has carved out its own piece of?
Finally, the future, what must we do? We must embrace the poison? What poison? Perhaps this is not poison, but the poison which others see. Perhaps the poison is the fey? Then we must accept and work with the fey? The Wanderer - we must determine who is good and who is an enemy? Perhaps those within such as the Aldori? Or is this someone not with us at present? And finally, the Owl. Those yellow eyes? The enemy can see us, but who is the enemy? It knows how it ends, but that is impossible as the future is not written in stone. The future is like clay before the kiln. It holds shape, but can be changed by almost anything that may affect it.
____________________
As she completes this thought, she casts another protective spell to keep monster's away from her should they pass the fighters.
Cast Protection from Evil.
As she finishes, she adds to what was said earlier.
The cards never lie. We must find the Eldest who controls this land. We must acknowledge his or her power. I do not believe this Elder to be the enemy. There is an enemy, but who it is we shall determine when we are not being attacked by unknown forces.

Ni'Tir and Chimalma |

so did Ni'Tir see whats coming or are we going to have her back in line in the form of a huge allosaurs? I had posted with her movong to scout with 50ft speed but i was trying not to get to far ahead. Just let me kkow Corsario i am good either way. :)

![]() |

Ni'Tir, now turned into a powerful dinosaur looks towards the explosion of fire... and lose all hope... as within the flame something a 50' high colossal snake-like figure is cut against the fire and destruction, dwarfing even her. And two powerful serpentine heads protrudes from that body...
Please, don't forget we started the second thread for the cohorts actions, and a Roll20 campaign for the map for this combat. Check the discussion thread.

Danath Orlovsky |

Danath claps a hand on Ruperts shoulder. "If it comes to that then we will do as you say but lets meet the enemy first and then decide." He waves to the great brute standing nearby, Ni'Tir's new form was as awe inspiring as it was frightening to behold. "Call in some help will ya?"
Danath's actions
R1: Standard/Move - Move tables
R2: Move - Draw Sword Standard - Tactician 1/day Duck and Cover teamwork feat for all allies within 60ft
R3 - Standard inspire Courage +1
Danath focuses on building their barricade to defend the wizards before readying himself and giving those nearby basic instructions on how to duck and cover in case the enemy was wielding magic. Just as the enemy thrashed their way out of the forest he began to give a speech to bolster his comrades courage in the face of the unknown enemy.

Ni'Tir and Chimalma |

Ni'Tir bulks at the creature that was coming for them. Her voice rumbles from deep inside, being a huge dinosaur mean't it would carry and despite the strangeness of her talking she had much to relay. "Danath, this creature is larger then I am, it has two heads and is made purely of fire and destruction. I don't think we can best it... I think it would be best to run while we have the chance."
Roger that playing catch up right now. ;)

![]() |

Reality check... Can Ni'Tir talk while transformed? I thought she couldn't...

Anton Marakov |

Why is it that my characters always get attacked when they don't have all their gear...
Anton's head reels from his sudden transportation, and he barely has time to get his bearings before something else becomes a higher priority. Well, this is what happens when you don't have your weapon of choice, isn't it? Anton, you idiot... Sofia will have your head if you make it out of here alive.
Seeing no other real plan, he draws his longsword and with a few mutterings, vanishes from sight.
Drawing weapon, and casting invisibility until a better plan presents itself. Fairly sure I'm going to be pretty useless here...

Kiritta Narvagoth |

Seeing the creature appear, Kiritta attempts to recall whether she has ever seen this particular abomination in her books.
Knowledge(nature): 1d20 + 17 ⇒ (3) + 17 = 20
Knowledge(planes): 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (11) + 15 = 26

Edeldhur |

Even as his mind runs through the trained process of preparing to cast a spell, Edeldhur digs through it to attempt and offer important information to his companions, in battling such monstrosity.
Hmmmmmm... I cannot fully remember what was the ruling on Knowledge rolls, but I'll stick to one only, until I am told otherwise :D
Knowledge (Planes): 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (19) + 15 = 34
Knowledge (Dungeoneering): +12 = 31
Knowledge (Nature): +8 = 27

Arv Akul'mar |

Arv drinks the vial from his left hand, grabs another, and hands it to Marius. Arv then begins to grow in size to over twelve feet in height.
"Drink up if you want a few minutes of epic stature, my friend."
Drinking Enlarge Person extract, and giving Marius an Enlarge Person potion. (both CL5, 5min duration)

Marius du'Caat |

Marius Drinks.
Waits for the potion to take effect.
He then shouts at the beast, flashing his blade in front of him.
"I am a Hellknight of the Order of the Godclaw. Defender of Order. Bringer of Law. I have been trained with the discipline of Devils. Slaying one to attain my rank. You threaten our rightful King, STAND DOWN OR BE PUT DOWN."
Intimidate: 1d20 + 19 ⇒ (19) + 19 = 38
Runes are probably without power here, since we're disconnected from the Gods, otherwise +2 to the check. If the creature has an intelligence of over 6, I can intimidate it. DC of my check is HD+WIS Mod+10. If I surpass the check, it is Shaken for 1 round, taking a -2 to saves, AC and Attacks. If I surpass the check by more than 5, then for every multiple of 5 I pass it by, it is Shaken for another round.

Danath Orlovsky |

I'm with you there Anton I'm a cavalier without his mount or lance lol, not even a bow. :)
Danath didn't like the shudder that ran Ni'Tir's beastily form but everyone appeared ready to stand against this threat and he was as well. He kept up inspiring the courage of the men and women here and he had already spurred them with his set of tactical knowledge. It was all he could do for now...

Kiritta Narvagoth |

Seeing that her words were not having effect, Kiritta calls out again.
I believe we need to go to the castle. If we stay here the land will continue to attack us.

Szymon Wojcik |

I'm confused. Is the creature coming from the castle? Or driving us toward it? I reread the posts and can't clarify.

Ni'Tir and Chimalma |

By Corsario If the path out of here is at 12:00 o'clock, the castle is at 11:00, and whatever is coming comes from 08:00.

Arv Akul'mar |

Arv let the words of Marius rumble through him, and allowed himself to become immersed within the magnificence of the upcoming battle. The King will live. The front line will hold.
"No greater tale spoke the beginnings of a grand future kingdom. This beast will fall..."
His head full of glory, there was no room left for better judgement.

Ni'Tir and Chimalma |

Ni'Tir nodded her massive saurian sized head at Kiri's words. But the look of those below made her see their resolve to try and hold and despite her reservations she would stand with them...
She can remain in this form for 7 hours :) if I choose a medium size creature it becomes 14 hours hehe :D

Marius du'Caat |

"Heroe's of Restov fall back at full speed with the King. Casters give us some support spells then catch up with the King. The Riders will fight then fall back, fight and fall back until you're safely in the castle. I don't intend to die here, just to provide the King with a lead. Now go."

Ni'Tir and Chimalma |

Ni'Tir seemed almost confused as to what was happening. The orders kept changing so this time she decided a better route...
My actions as I forgot to post them~
R1 - Turn into Allo. Move
R2 - Move back to line Cast Strong Jaw on self - Bite attack now does 4d6 damage
R3 - Cast Bulls strength on myself str = 24

Xi'Tir: Sweet! A huge taliking T-Rex!
Kiritta and Edeldhur try to remember which creature could be the one attacking you... so big, so powerful, two heads... the answer make them both afraid... it couldn't be... they both plead... please gods... it shouldn't be. A giant that breath acid and poison, inmmune to almost all damage and magic, with a curse for all that slay them! The Two-headed tarn linnorm, the most fearsome of all Linnorms!
But when the gargantuan form get out of the forest, only Marius is certain what it is, as he once and a hundred times slew one of them... playing, as a child...
It really is a Tarn Linnorm! He always dreamed, as a child, of killing one to become king of the Lands of the Linnorm Kings, but now he sees it was only a child's dream, as the beast is easily over 100 feet long, and more than 10 tons in weight.
Tarn Linnorm Stats
Saul McGill screams and runs towards the path at full speed, followed by the Cenobitic Order monk...
The beast laughs with such a force that all of you have to brace not to fall back!
"So a puny Hellknight threatens me? I am Tarlaxian, Tane of Queen Nyrissa, and I am your doom! And you, Hellknight will be the first to die!"
Now is your chance, you get a round to unleash against it! There is just one problem... IT IS Tarlaxian, Tane of Queen Nyrissa

Remeber, he has true seeing and a bunch of immunities, DR, SR, and all those things we DM love! Describe what happens in your attack, make this fight memorable! You won't fight one of these very frecuently!

Ni'Tir and Chimalma |

Even in her huge form she is forced back a step, which shakes the earth as the huge dinosaur staggers. She narrowly misses stepping on the panicked men running under her and towards the path. As it finishes its threat, Danath's warcry rallies her to action and she lets loose a roar that causes the very ground of the first world to shudders beneath her massive clawed feet. As her roar ends she starts moving towards Tarlaxian in a single powerful charge, that emphasizes the pure primeval force of the earths first creations.
During her charge she steps over her smaller allies, sweeping past them in a few great strides. As she came closer she surprised any who were watching her as she leapt into the air, effectively pouncing upon the linnorm in an attempt to tear it apart. She raked at its sids with her talons, clawed at it's neck and face ferociously just before biting down with her magically imbued maw. She landed heavily and staggered back a few steps in a wary predatorily stance as she awaited its counter attack and despite the ferocity of her attack she was shocked to see she had done so little damage...

As the beasts jaws drip with a vile mixture of spittle she has but a moment to think, her thoughts drifting to her sister and Chimalma. How worried they must be.
I be returning soon, dontcha worry now...
Despite the ineffectiveness of her attack she gives out a defiant roar, having made the monstrosity bleed...

Szymon Wojcik |

Arv strides as confidently as he can alongside Danath. He points his sword at the beast, and yells out. "You have gone through much trouble bringing us to your world... to just slay and loot our bodies!"
He sees the massive saurian.. oddly dwarfed by their foe... dive in for a furious assault.
Arv does his best to stay near Danath, but provide a flank for others charging in.
His swing is nowhere near effective in damaging the beast... it will take all of his strength and will to effect the hide.

"I didn't brought you here! My mistress did! "
Rupert lets Szymon carry him back, but looks at him steely :
"Just until the end of the clearing and the start of the path, there we stand, so the others have somewhere to retreat to! Master du'Caat, at the start of the path! "
