Ian is able to find a few interested Wizards, but the problem is that most of them have a contract that requires spell casting on a regular basis, not a single spell. The single spell casting is up the lower level Wizards.

One of them does catch his eye. A dwarf by the name of Scarban. He'd be willing to perform everything necessary, but he has a catch.

If you want to hire Scarban, you'll receive his condition and the choice to hire him.

Ian most definitely sees and hears the little Kobold on top of his box. While the Kobold thinks he's speaking in Draconic, everyone can hear him in their native language. Ian hears him speaking Common.

The reason for this is that the Mage's College has a Permanent Sphere of Tongues across the whole campus. The premiss being that magic doesn't need a single language.

Lot is starting to gather a few followers, but most of them are curious as to why he wants to go back up north? It's fairly obvious he came from there, the question is why did he come back?

Male White Kobold Sorcerer 5, Dragon Disciple 4

"Will you come?!" Shouts Lot at a passerby.
"What about you?!" He shouts again.

Lot has started to scare people away instead...he's not doing very good.

Then he says something about treasure in the ice...

Psst! That's your queue Lot!

Male White Kobold Sorcerer 5, Dragon Disciple 4

"Treasure! There be treasure in the ice! Things that glitter in the sun, and things that sparkle even without it! Will that intrest the lot of you yellow Big folk?!" Lot starts shouting at people as they walk away.

Ian approaches the little yapper.
Perception: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (9) + 15 = 24
Sense Motive: 1d20 + 25 ⇒ (16) + 25 = 41

Greetings, My name is Ian Moone. That story you're spinning has caught my ear, and after my work here has been set in motion, I may be able to help you. Tell me more.

Male White Kobold Sorcerer 5, Dragon Disciple 4

"Treasure, Catman. Gold, Diamonds, Chrystal, Silver, you name it it's down there! I was hired, just like you will be! Can you taste it, the fame? The power? The treasure!? All of it, for me! And a bit to you, for your help. You need help? I can help you. I'm a Dragonling. There is nothing you can't do without a Dragonling!" Lot says in an excited voice. He then turns to the rest of the crowd and shouts "Away with the lot of you, I have found my adventuring partner! Shoo! Shoo!" and waives his hands around as if shoving them away.

In the rooftops of the Golden Rule stands one of its protectors. Having been called back from the front line fighting of the war on the Eastern Boarders Tiberius was bored. He missed the blood-shed. He did jobs for the local guard. Catching people by the use of his godly thighs of manliness. He was one of the few elite soldiers left. He was a spearton. (reference to stick wars 1 and 2) He hears, that a certain Kobold was causing a ruckess at the Mage College. Like any good SPEARton Tiberius has no need of doooors...HE MAKES HIS OWN!!! Tiberius: SPEARTAAAAAGHGHHGHGHHGHGHG!!!!!!!! He screams as he suddenly bursts through the roof of the collage (im assuming they are inside anyway) and lands on his feet, as if it didn't hurt!

Amidst the rubble that the man just created a few things can be seen. For starters he was wearing scale armor. He had a cape attached to the back of the scale armor with the picture of a dragon symbol on it. The cape looks as if it has seen many battles as it waves, ripped at the bottom so the edges were not nice and even as they once were. The man stands tall, spear in one hand and shield in the other. His helmet covers his face in blackness but his eyes can be felt glaring at the Kobold. The Spearton aproaches him.

Tiberius: By his high majesty The Raven you are hearby charged with disrupting the peace with tales of shiny things and LOLLYGAGGING! What say you Points his spear at the Kobold in your defense!!

Male P'Tan [Self-appointed party mule][AC: 23 | TAC: 14 | FFAC: 19 | HP 46/66 | Regen: 2 | Init: +11 | Performances: 25/30 | Fort:+4 | Ref:+10 | Will:+6 ]

Well, aren't you suave! Did you have to wreck my little friend's shade roof?
Bluff to hide the Derision: 1d20 + 25 ⇒ (9) + 25 = 34

He DOES have the right to petition help from those of sufficient ability, I should hope, otherwise your private guard firms would be doing TERRIBLE
Diplomacy: 1d20 + 25 ⇒ (19) + 25 = 44

Male White Kobold Sorcerer 5, Dragon Disciple 4

"Shoo. Away with you. Shoo. Catman already has dibbs on the treasure. If you want the treasure you'll have to go with Catman." Lot says at the Spearton, not even blinking about his shade roof being demolished.

Tiberius: Yes...yes I did have to break the sun roof sir! 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (13) - 1 = 12 why do I even bother no way in hell I can beat that bluff Tiberius kinda...looks down at the lizard. A creature that does not speak common? Strange... He waited for the thing to stop yapping to speak again. by order of the Raven you must move form this location immediately. As decreed in the law you cannot stay in the same place unless it is private property. He looks to the left, then the right and saw nobody there. He flips his spear around and gently pushes the Kobold back a half a step with the non deadly end of his spear. Huh...I wonder why I was summoned here. I see no law broken now. And for the record sir im not part of one of those damn private companies. I freelance. Good day to you all. Keep the peace. Tiberius walks back to the place where he first jumped from, and jumps again. he jumps WAY more then any normal human should be able too in gear but never the less. The diplomacy made the spearton question how stupid that law...actually is.

Male White Kobold Sorcerer 5, Dragon Disciple 4

As Lot is being pushed, he shouts "What do you think you're doing!" then grumbles at the man saying things such as "I'll freeze you." and "I'll make you suffer."

"What do you need, Catman? Tell me and I will find it for you." Lot says to Ian.

Male P'Tan [Self-appointed party mule][AC: 23 | TAC: 14 | FFAC: 19 | HP 46/66 | Regen: 2 | Init: +11 | Performances: 25/30 | Fort:+4 | Ref:+10 | Will:+6 ]

THAT was a strange man. I shall have to inquire about him. Turning back to the kobold, Ian answers I am looking for a powerful mage who is able to bind outsiders. Ian looks around for any inquiring ears. Seeing none, he bends down and whispers One who is VERY discreet when paid. He stands up and steps back. I have already learned of one such mage, a dwarf by the name of Scarban

Male White Kobold Sorcerer 5, Dragon Disciple 4

"Scarban? Scarban's a fool. Doesn't want to head north. I can show his office to you, though." Lot says quietly, but still in a high-pitched and shrill manner, as a kobold usually sounds.

What is going on in the store I work at GM?

All's quiet on the store front. You get off in a few minutes, so you're free to wander the store. As an employee, you have a 10% discount on everything in the store, including the Belt of Physical Perfection section.

Give me a perception check

Female Gevet Gun Slinger 9 5/5 Girt

perception: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (13) + 15 = 28

Vi looks at the belt and then around the store for anything suspisious. She is still has a long way to go before she can afford the +6 belt of Physical perfection that she has been wanting for so long. She sighs as she only has the coins for a +2 at the moment.

Psst. Hey, Tiefling. An Elf with a cloak on gets Vi's attention. In one swift action, he replaces two of the belts on the rack with a counterfeit that, to the untrained eye, looks exactly the same.

I've seen you eyeing these from the store front. Take it and let's get lost, ey?

Slight of Hand to steal it and keep it hidden

Female Gevet Gun Slinger 9 5/5 Girt

sleight of Hand: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (18) + 11 = 29

Vi nods as she takes the belt from the man and slips it into her bag. Waiting until she get back to the Inn from the night. She smirks a little before mouthing a Thank you. She then nods her head to her boss when eh comes back in. See you in the morning Sir

The shopkeeper nods, none the wiser you just pilfered one of his costlier items. After Vi gets back to her place, she tries on her new Belt of Physical Perfection +6. It fits like it was made for her. Then again, all magic items do that.

Scarban, a Dwarf with a beard as long as he is tall, is in his study, pouring over a few books and scrolls. He hears you enter, standing up to meet you. His pen keeps writing for him.

"Can I he--Oh, it's you. What do you want, scaly?"

After hearing Lot's explanation, Scarban offers his hand to Catman. "I see, you're looking for some spellcasting to be done? Of course, that's one I do easily. I've used it myself before. Scarban looks back towards his desk and shouts out a name that, due to the Circle of Tongues, you understand. "Sevic! Come!"

At once the pen stops writing and drops, a few papers scatter as an invisible being runs along the desk over to Scarban and up his robe, resting on his shoulder.

"This is Sevic, my underling from the Abyss. He shall go forth and let us know what we shall need to get a proper summoning done."

On Scarban's shoulder, a little Imp appears from no where. He gives Ian a little wave with a clawed hand, looks down at Lot, and gives a little grin. He then looks to Scarban and whispers in his ear. "Yes yes, I'll provide you with my blessings. Now be off!"

Sevic jumps from Scarban's shoulder and dives towards the floor, a small circle of flames appearing that he jumps into, closing behind him. After just a few moments, the portal opens again, this time above Scarban with Sevic landing on his shoulder. In Sevic's hand is a roll of parchment. Sevic hands the roll to Scarban, then disappears again.

"Ah, here is our list of required materials." Scarban looks it over, then gets writes up a small list for Ian. "Here is your list. Everything else I can get on my own. Meet me back here with the items in one hour. Everything will be ready for you by then." Scarban then heads to his desk and continues writing.

List:
Ink made from powdered cold iron
1 pound of fresh meat (the more exotic the better)
A red feather from a Phoenix
A gem at least 1,000 Rounds or more (Speak with Vi, she can help)

Female Gevet Gun Slinger 9 5/5 Girt

Later that evening, Vi sell her armor and belt to a random shop and gets herself a chain shirt. Which does not cover as much as she would like but makes her feel more protected. She then goes to the stable looking at the Horses they have for sale, she settles on a old mare that was trained for combat but has not been used in sometime. She has a sleek black coat, with a matching mane and deep Brown eyes. Such a beauty I shall call you Nightmare She then gets a Military style saddle for her to use to ride on. She then notices in the animal market, that is close by a full grown Hyena that looks as though she has not been cared for in some time. She bends down at the cage an smiles, Well hello there little one She pays for her and a leash for her too. She thinks for a second for a name coming up with Talrin. She then heads back to the inn to wait for the rest of the party.

As everyone does what they do at the inn, a sudden loud THUMP is heard on the roof, it carries enough sound to pass through all the rooms which causes most anyone who heard it to wonder "what the hell was that?" Needless to say it was the Spearton hopping around the rooftops. He is hungry and has a dire thirst so he determines that this inn has the money to pay for the damage that he would do busting in. He then stops, realizes that oh wait, this is one of the inns he has busted into before and they installed a "roof door for him" in the dining area the cieling suddenly opens up and the spearton drops in, infront of some poor unsuspecting chump who has food.

Tiberius: what are you looking at... out of my way... The spearton shoves the man out of the way and takes a seat. He doesn't remove his helmet yet...or hardly any of his gear. He sits there in full armor and weapons as if he was still on the front lines.

Tiberius: I require food and drink! He yells to the nearest barmaid (hopefully not the one with the deep voice)

Male P'Tan [Self-appointed party mule][AC: 23 | TAC: 14 | FFAC: 19 | HP 46/66 | Regen: 2 | Init: +11 | Performances: 25/30 | Fort:+4 | Ref:+10 | Will:+6 ]

Is it common to give lists of materials, when I have yet to tell you what I wish to be called? Ian's ears are perked towards the Wizard, eyes focused and intent, kindove ignoring the kobold

"Wait, you didn't want to summon a de--....OH!! I'm so sorry!" Scarban quickly grabs the list from Ian, shoving it into the Imp's mouth for it to be disposed of.

"Yes, yes, I am Scarban, and I can do what you think I can. What is it you wish for me to do?"

Explain what you want him to do for you. You can leave out any part that doesn't involve him.

Tiberius is quickly given a mug of beer and a leg of lamb, on the house, of course.

Tiberius doesn't take his helmet off. The food goes into the shadow of his helmet and is never seen from again, his eyes constantly peering for anything strange...besides him of course.

1d20 ⇒ 13

Before I begin, is this room secured? Ian looks around the room for signs that anyone might be listening.

Perception: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (11) + 15 = 26

Tiberius notices that his helmet could use a good polishing. He also notices a Teifling with a hyena sitting at another table. Something to do, perhaps?

"Just a moment." Scarban closes the door, shuts the windows, and activates an Alarm spell he had set up outside, just in case.

"Not even Asmodaeus himself can get in to hear us now."

Ian can tell he's telling the truth, as the doors and windows are all soundproof.

Male P'Tan [Self-appointed party mule][AC: 23 | TAC: 14 | FFAC: 19 | HP 46/66 | Regen: 2 | Init: +11 | Performances: 25/30 | Fort:+4 | Ref:+10 | Will:+6 ]

Ian eyes the man curiously. The master of hell has eyes and ears everywhere. Such as through his servants
Ian motions towards the mans Imp.

I would like to tell you, but what I want must not reach any others, whether they be of this plane or another.

"Secrecy is my game, my friend....but, if you insist."

He quickly shoos out the kobold, then does a quick dismissal of his familiar.

"This had better be very important." He's starting to loose patience.

Male P'Tan [Self-appointed party mule][AC: 23 | TAC: 14 | FFAC: 19 | HP 46/66 | Regen: 2 | Init: +11 | Performances: 25/30 | Fort:+4 | Ref:+10 | Will:+6 ]

I apologize, but one cannot be too careful in my line of work. I require the calling and binding of two Devils: an Accuser and a Kyton Evangelist. I intend to offer one a position of intrigue, and the other a position through which it can harms others, and possibly kill. This should cover any offerings for the creatures, but I need your power to call and hold them so that I may offer in the first place.
Ian smiles like the Cheshire cat, wide and toothy, I will also need your silence. What will it cost me, sir mage?

"Hmm....An Accuser and a Kyton Evangelist....I see....Seems simple enough, I have all that I need for the summonings..."

Scarban paces his study, moving between piles of books.

"I shall need a little bit of time to conjure and control another familiar, and a little time to set up the circles..."

He turns to Ian. "I shall need an hour to set up what I need. In that time, you can retrieve for me a gem that costs 1000 Rounds or more. I've been meaning to get one, and now is the perfect opportunity to obtain one. It will be to keep my silence, as you say."

Again, talk with Vi. She can help you out if you need it.

Male P'Tan [Self-appointed party mule][AC: 23 | TAC: 14 | FFAC: 19 | HP 46/66 | Regen: 2 | Init: +11 | Performances: 25/30 | Fort:+4 | Ref:+10 | Will:+6 ]

Alright, I will return shortly.
Ian leaves the mage to his devices.

Diplomacy to gather info on where Vi is: 1d20 + 25 ⇒ (2) + 25 = 27

Ian finds Vi without much effort, and entreats her to help him acquire the 1000gp gem at an increased discount, spending only 630gp himself.
Ian returns to the mage shortly, arriving about 5 minutes before the agreed time and waiting.

Perception: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (18) + 15 = 33
What do I hear?

Nothing can be heard from the mage's study. His soundproofing works apparently...

Scarban returns a few moments later, a backpack of stuff on his back, a new familiar on his shoulder, a clockwork fairy.

"Come, we haven't much time. This will be a truly great endeavour."

He leads you out of the city into the woods. There, he set up his two summoning circles, each with a dimensional anchor to keep the devils that he summons in their place.

With a few incantations, he begins his summoning. Within the circle, the first of two devils is summoned, a creature of mass, muscles, chains, and scars along its body. As it speaks, Ian feels a chill run down his spine and through his tail. This is truly a creature to be feared.

Why have you summoned me, Bard?

Female Gevet Gun Slinger 9 5/5 Girt

After helping Ian get his gem at the store she works at she goes back to the inn eying the man that had came through the ceiling earlier with caution. Her Hyena sits by her side panting as she pets her. Her tail flicks a little as she orders herself some mead and raw lamb for the hyena.

perception: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (13) + 15 = 28

Ian's eyes gleam in the low light of the woods, tail flicking lightly side to side like a pleased cat.I will not waste your time with flowered niceties of mortal speech. I wish to offer you a position of torture and murder on the material plane. I will soon be in need of a symbol of fear and power, such as yourself. I wish you to serve me as a bruiser, striking fear into mortal hearts, rending flesh and blood from their bodies, however only those whom I command. And they will soon be many.
Diplomacy (If necessary): 1d20 + 25 ⇒ (4) + 25 = 29
Charisma based Caster check, if it applies: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (15) + 13 = 28

Male White Kobold Sorcerer 5, Dragon Disciple 4

Lot sleeps at the mages college waiting for Ian in the morning.

The chained Devil looks you over, his eyes seeming to gaze through your very soul...

"......Deal."

An an instant, the Evangelist disappears in a burst of flame and chain rattling, another creature replacing it, a hideous version of a human with a third eye in the middle of its forehead. As it speaks, you feel as if you should be calmed by the voice, until you see the flesh-like tentacles around its back.

"Can I help you, P'Tan?"

Ian has never heard himself be called a P'Tan before, but he feels as if it belongs to him now.

Male P'Tan [Self-appointed party mule][AC: 23 | TAC: 14 | FFAC: 19 | HP 46/66 | Regen: 2 | Init: +11 | Performances: 25/30 | Fort:+4 | Ref:+10 | Will:+6 ]

Alittle taken aback by the new name, Ian's eyes widen, ears perked and tail frozen in its flicking motion. His fur settles quickly. You are surely a credit to your kind if you can name my strange and alien race. I wish to offer you that which I offered the Kyton, a position at my side, the one much more suited to your talents. I wish you to act as an information gatherer, spy, such and the like. I am in need of much information about people in the town, and all the information gathered is freely yours to share at the end of your service to me.

Tiberius: hmm...my helmet could use a shine job... The woman and hyena were odd to him. He has seen this before but its rare to see someone walk around with a hyena. He picked up his leg of lamb and his drink and walked over boldly and sits at the table with the woman, opposite of her. She sees what everyone else sees, a pair of eyes within the helmet but the face is not seen because of the shadow. 7

Tiberius: I have seen a lot of women...and I have seen a lot of hyenas. But I can't exactly say that I've seen the combination very often. You know that beast can turn and try to bite your head off at any second yes?

He takes another bite of lamb as he waits for a response.

Female Gevet Gun Slinger 9 5/5 Girt

Indeed she could however something in her eyes seems to say other wise. At that she gently rubs the pups head as she places the plate on the floor for her to eat. Not very often I see a metal man busting through roofs of inns...or roof doors...I tend to burn them down. The Gevet chuckles again as she takes a sip of her mead, The name's Vi, Gun for hire, I guard one of the shops downtown while I wait on my party to come up with a new adventure.

The Accuser gives a smile of sorts.

"Very well. You have my...employment. Just like you P'Tans."

The Devil vanishes, and the circle's power is otherwise dispelled. In the middle of the circle are two small pieces of stone that weren't there before. They are carved with blue runes. One is an eye, the other is a section of chain.

Simply rub these runes to summon the Devils at your command. They can be summoned 3 times a day for 10 minutes each, but they will not help you in combat.

A small chuckle leaves the man's smirked lips.

Tiberius: They decided to install that just for me. I don't use front doors. Fight as many wars as me and you will find that doors are just perfect places to hide an ambush. That, and my job while in town is helping the guard. I bust in and somebody suddenly starts running, I kill them, get payed, call it a good day. If you have no reason to be guilty you have no reason to fear a Spearton jumping through the roof.

The man sets his lamb leg down and holds out his hand to shake Vi's hand.

Tiberius: Tiberius, you may also know me as "Spear-head" from the wars in the Eastern Boarders.

if there is any curiosity I guess the GM can get you to do a knowledge check of some kind to get more info out of the name.

Female Gevet Gun Slinger 9 5/5 Girt

Interesting name, fitting for a warrior such as yourself. She shakes the man's hand before returning to petting the Hyena. Even such dark eyes as hers can show love when around something that she adores.

Ian pockets the gems, and thanks the Mage. Ian immediatly calls the Accuser. I was visited today by a soldier with a strange jumping capability. He wore scale armor and a dragon cloak, and wielded a spear. I want to know anything you can find out about him by tomorrow noon. Ian leaves the devil to his job, attempting to find Vi and thank her for her help.

Gather Info: 1d20 + 25 ⇒ (5) + 25 = 30

Tiberius: The name was given to me by my "Brothers". They said I have a nasty habit of charging first into the fight. 1d20 ⇒ 11 Know local to determine the name of the woman. I have heard of you as well. I was told if I were to happen apon a shooting involving a "Vialla Burns Shellings" to turn a blind eye.

Ian is able to find Vi extremely easily. She is back at the inn with her new companions, one of which being Tiberius.

As Ian enters the inn, he senses the Accuser is following him, then sees Tiberius.

At this point, only Tiberius and Vi have met. Also, Tiberius finds a 10 Round coin on the floor

Female Half-Elf Cleric 8

Myali heads towards the Inn in search of food and her companions. She is also hoping to find Ian and talk with him as well.

Male P'Tan [Self-appointed party mule][AC: 23 | TAC: 14 | FFAC: 19 | HP 46/66 | Regen: 2 | Init: +11 | Performances: 25/30 | Fort:+4 | Ref:+10 | Will:+6 ]

Ian smiles predatorily, stalking up to the table. Why, if it isn't my jumpy acquaintance from the mage's college. I see you have met Vi. Ian sits down at the table, signalling for a barmaid.

Female Gevet Gun Slinger 9 5/5 Girt

A small smirk crosses the Gevets face, Indeed, although if I was to shoot someone I would be sure as to not get caught. That and I prefer to only shoot those robbing the store I work at. Them Buggers get whats coming and several large bruises. I get my money and go on my way. She says as she pulls her Revolver from the holster at her hip. Gently wiping it down with one of the napkins. besides...I am sure if I was to shoot someone...everyone would know with how loud this baby is.

Female Half-Elf Cleric 8

Myali enters the Inn looking for Ian, not like a big cat man is hard to miss, and she spots him at a table with Vi and several other people. She approaches the table. Ian, Vi, Who might our new friends be? Myali asks as she takes a seat to Ian's right.

Myali sees Ian enter the Inn as she heads there herself.

Ian is the only one to notice the Accuser floating invisibly behind Tiberius.

The barmaid returns to the table. "Yes m'lord?"
