Raine sent a pair of arrows at the demon on the right, both of which hit him in the chest. One of the three arrows that followed also hit, leaving him badly wounded.

57 to Nabesu 2. It looks like you did not add in the bonus from Tauni's Foretell ability, +2 luck bonus on attack rolls. In this case, it does not help with the shots that missed, but don't forget.

Karas, Raine:
Karas and Raine picked up snatches of words spoken in a low, gruff voice coming from behind the demons. No one could be seen making the sounds, but the whole room cannot be seen from their positions. Some of the words were not part of normal common, perhaps Dwarven?

Karas advanced with rage on the demons representing the front lines of the Worldwound assault, biting and clawing with unnatural speed. Three claws ripped into the already wounded demon, yet still the powerful force of evil stood.

The other demon responded with its own attacks on Karas. Its nasty jaws snapped on empty air and one of its claws likewise swished through the air past Karas's. Then the other claw dug into Karas's side. 18 damage.

Ellena's first swing at the Nabasu demon would have clanged harmlessly off the demons thick hide, but the magical aid added to the force of her attack and her glowing longsword broke through their skin and spilled foul smelling black blood from the demon who had just wounded Karas.

Ellena's movement was a five-foot step, so she can take a second attack (Haste). She can also take a second attack at her lower BAB value.

FYI: if you are trying to affect the demons with a spell, know you will need to make a caster level check to get through their SR.

Something within Anarya refuses the demon's life-stealing gaze - the fire that burns within her is too great for the foul magic to sap away, and she shakes off its vile influence. Mythic Surge: 1d6 ⇒ 4 (With that, Anarya's saving throw is a 19, letting her retroactively succeed.)

Having felt the fiend's terrible power and only barely escaped, Anarya knows they have mere seconds before its companion unleashes another withering gaze. She raises her fist in the air, gathering the light from her halo into two pinpricks of light that orbit her hand like two blazing stars. With a mighty cry, she flings them forth towards the demons, each one exploding over the Nabasus like a crashing wave of pure holy wrath.

Avelina exerted her considerable spiritual strength to put the fear of Iomedae into the Nabasu demon that just wounded Ellena. It was not blinded by her flash of holy light, but both demons were burned by the light. The one already wounded by Raine and Karas collapsed. The other closed his eyes in time to avoid getting blinded and still had plenty of fight in him.

Ellena continued hacking at the demoralized demon but she could not get through his tough hide.

By the time Tauni got her spell cast, there was only one demon still standing. She slammed four force missiles into him and still he stood. He stood, but the floor around him was turning black with his blood.

Raine's arrows devastated the remaining demon. As the demon fell, everyone except Anarya and Avelina clearly heard a gruff low voice casting a spell, but it was not clear where the caster was. One likely possibility was a person standing out of view from the southeast entrance. The room had an irregular shape so someone could be around the corner to the northwest.

There was a door in the wall to the south.

What you see around the corner of the room:
After moving 20 feet into the room, PCs can see that the room extends 25 feet to the north of the north wall that runs west from the entrance. No one can be seen in this part of the room. There are a pair of doors on the east side of this extension.

Keep to a single round of action, but the initiative order won't matter much. Describe what you are doing.

Ellena heads directly around the corner, meaning to make the caster show themselves. ”If you are with the demons, you’ve picked the wrong group,” Ellena calls out. ”If you are willing to surrender, we can discuss terms, if you come out now,” she says, holding her shield at the ready.

Raine didn't speak. She moved after Ellena, though, arrow on the string, keeping her senses primed for trouble appearing.

Looking over my notes, I see I did not narrate the effects of Anarya's alignment channel. That caused 51 points of damage to each demon, which wore them down so that the attacks of Tauni and Raine finished them off. Sorry for the oversight.

I'm assuming that Karas would advance into the room staying close to Ellena. I've moved his token, but he has yet to post his actions for the round. He still has a standard action as well as 40 feet of movement. Or he can delay and move with Ellena. Because of things going on out of sight but nearby, I'm continuing to follow initiative order.

Once Karas has posted his movement and actions, if any, I'll post some things that are perceived. I've made perception rolls, modified by the Heroism buff, so don't worry about rolling perception. The results for Karas will depend on where he ends his movement or if he delays to enter with Ellena.

Moving into the room the first few people to see around the wall to the north section of the room saw nothing there.

Anarya channels a bit of healing energy through her own body, patching up the wounds she's absorbed from her allies. Her halo's glow steadies as she follows Karas and Avelina, moving carefully to keep her companions within the magic circle against evil.

The ring of golden chains she had conjured floats behind her in the air, gently rotating. The gilded links clink against one another, making faint sounds like tiny bells in the still chamber.

Sorry for the delay.
I was hoping Karas would post. I'll assume he moves with everyone else, looking and listening.

The group moved cautiously into the next room, looking for the source of the sounds of a spell being cast. No one saw or heard anything until Tauni got into the room.

Tauni:
Tauni spots a dwarf standing in position E4. Actually, she sees two very close together, overlapping, suggesting some sort of illusion like mirror image. He has heavy armor (banded mail), a shield, and a light hammer. He has a holy symbol of Droskar on his shield, a stone arch with a fire underneath. He appears middle-aged, with black hair, a braided beard, and dark eyes, looking haggard.

Tauni may act.


"Raine, look out!" Tauni cried as she pointed into the room. A tiny stream of glittering stone particles floated towards the middle of the room before silently bursting out.

Casting glitterdust, centered at the intersection of C/D 3/4. DC17 will or blinded.

If I'm reading the grid right, that should envelope what she seems without hitting nay friendlies.

I'm sorry. I wasn't clear. This turn, Tauni cast see invisible and moved into the room. When she gets into the room, she sees an invisible person and can say something to that effect, but she can't cast a spell this round. My fault for not stating that, given how much time has gone by since the earlier post.

Tauni identifies the location of her concern as just about ten feet northwest of where the archer is.

Around the same time, everyone (except Anarya) heard sounds coming from the other side of the door on the south side of the room. Most clearly heard was sounds of a spell being cast. The voice was masculine, with a Dwarven accent. Most everyone also heard heavy footsteps and clinking of arms and/or armor.

It is Raine's turn next; then the invisible one near her.

It is Raine's turn but no posts from the player for 4 days. I don't want to 'bot the player so I'll give the first player to post the decision as to which of two actions to use. I don't want to make the decision for the player in this case.

Raine hears activity in the south room and so knows more combat is likely. She has received a warning from Tauni about a threat in front of her but she can't see it yet (remember, Tauni was not able to make the invisible threat visible with glitterdust yet). However, Tauni can hear armor rattling so plainly, she can pinpoint a target for arrow attacks, although she'll still take the 50% miss chance.

Or she could cast Gravity Bow during the lull in combat to better do damage on her subsequent arrow attacks. This will change the base damage of a composite longbow from 1d8 to 2d6 for 8 minutes.

If Raine posts first, she can choose her actions as usual, but otherwise, to keep things moving, someone else may make the decision. I'll roll the dice if the decision to attack is chosen.

The fireball exploded, but it was impossible to tell how the invisible enemy in the blast fared. I don't think there is anything about how fireball works that would expose an invisible target.

The south door opened. On the other side were two half-fiend minotaurs and a dwarf seated on the back of a giant wasp. Each minotaur cast a spell. The first spell emanated from a point just on the north side of the door, filling the air with a foul stench of decay. There were no immediate effects but those within 20 feet of the door who are good felt uneasy.

The other spell filled the same area with a cold, cloying miasma of greasy darkness that caused those within it to suffer damage and brought on waves of nausea.

Tauni takes 19 damage and is sickened for 4 rounds. Others take 9 damage.

Ellena stepped into the doorway and swung her glowing longsword expertly, injuring the oversized half-fiend nearest the opening. She withdrew her sword and tried to follow-up her hit with another, but the blade turned in her hand and missed. 16 to half-fiend minotaur #1.

Anarya and Tauni are up next.
If casting spells on any of the enemies, make a caster level check as some of them have SR.

Raine's arrows converged on the dwarf riding the giant fiendish wasp with all her usual accuracy. But the dwarf's spiked full plate armor prevented any of the arrows from doing damage. AC is at least 24.

Ellena and Raine:
Based on the unholy symbol of Deskari on the dwarf's helmet, his weapons (a glaive, a throwing axe, plus spiked armor) suggest that this could be Staunton Vhane, the traitor who stole the Sword of Valor from Drezen and delivered it to a demon commander, allowing the citadel to be captured by Worldwound forces. You know that the glaive is a magic weapon called Soulshear, rumored to be an intelligent sword. Staunton is an antipaladin.

Clarification: only Tauni is sickened by one of the spells cast by the Half-fiend minotaurs. Others took damage and felt effects that sometimes presage becoming sick, but with no penalties.

"That won't do," Anarya replied to Karas's statement. She passed her hand over Tauni's eyes and spoke a word of command. "See again."

As the foul magic washed over the heroes, Anarya felt her flesh burn as their pain flowed into her. She gritted her teeth against the sudden rush, and turned that pain into power as she released her light into the chamber to counteract the dark magic.

(Everyone heals 5 due to Life Link, and Anarya takes 20 damage, dropping her to 83 hp. Then, she Quick Channels positive energy as a move action to heal the entire party for 21 hp, and an additional 12 hp to herself due to Fey Foundling, which gets the entire party back to full hit points.)

The healing light is not so kind to her foes, however. Her halo's blazes against the dwarf in particular, pounding down upon him like holy fire.
(Selecting the dwarf as the target for Purifying Channel's effect - he takes 21 fire damage and is dazzled for 1 round. A DC 26 Will Save halves this fire damage and negates the dazzle.)

Raine, Karas, Ellena, and Anarya can see that as the healing light washes over them, some of it reaches the dwarf on the wasp and the two half-fiend minotaurs. The dwarf however starts to be bathed in flame. He manages to counter some of the damage through sheer force of evil will, but still gets burned. 10 damage to the dwarf.

Tauni still has her action. She is no longer blinded but she is still sickened for the next 4 turns, unless countered.

Everyone has been healed of all wounds.

I need to retcon one thing that I did not handle correctly. WHen Tauni was blinded, it should have ended the invisibility effect that the cast had going at the time. I'm going to assume that the door opened revealing more enemies to the south, which distracted attention from the caster in the room. The only possible change would be that Karas could have attacked the caster instead of protecting himself with shield spell, but he had already heard the movement of forces to the south, so it is reasonable that he would have trusted that others could deal with the spell caster and opted to protect himself. I can tell you that the dwarf in the south room has 2 tiers of mythic abilities and a magic weapon that can kill if it gets a critical hit, so a higher AC is advised.

Around the time the door opened and the fight began in earnest, the one who had been invisible to the northwest became visible. He was a dwarf wearing banded mail and a heavy steel shield, carrying light hammer. His shield had some kind of symbol on it. He had back hair with his beard braided into a number of strands. He looked weary and definitely afraid. Not meant to imply he has the frightened condition. Just ordinary fear of a superior fighting force that outnumbers him six to one.

All but Raine and Karas:
The symbol is an unholy symbol of the dwarven god Droskar.

Note that Tauni does not see him until Anarya removes her blindness.

Avelina and Raine:
Avelina and Raine recognize the dwarf as Joran Vhane, brother of Staunton, the traitor who delivered the Sword of Valor banner to the Worldwound forces Joran is a high level cleric of Droskar and rumored to be quite knowledgeable of arcana associated with corrupting magic items from good to evil.

Images of the two have been posted to the map go give a better view of what the two dwarves look like.

That is up to Tauni. She can use it 8 rounds per day, not necessarily consecutive. She activated it on the first round of this melee, the Nabasu demons fell during the 2nd round, and we are now just starting the 4th round. The rules don't specify if you have to activate it each round you use it or if you can activate it and then keep it. If the latter, then she has 7 of 8 rounds left, since she only activated on round 1. If the former, she has used 3 rounds, assuming she kept it going. I haven't been recording it as active since round 1.

Note: the Half-fiend Minotaurs have no weapons, but they have reach 10 feet. They fight with bite and 2 claw attacks. greataxes as weapons, with 10 foot reach. On a full attack, they can also gore with their horns and make a bite attack. The dwarf on the wasp also has a reach weapon. The giant fiendish wasp has reach of just 5 feet, even though it is large.
