Thanks for the updates on AC.

As soon as Karas and Ellena jumped to the floor of the forge, the salamander hiding under the lift attacked Karas while he was unable to focus fully on his defense. The salamander's long snake tail lashed at him but missed.

The salamander had been waiting to attack those who exited the lift, so he focused on Karas and stabbed at him twice with his red-hot spear and tried to slap him again with his tail and wrap the tail around the silver tiefling to try to crush the life out of him.

Both spear attacks and the tail penetrated Karas' defenses, although he was unaffected by the heat in the weapons and the creature's boiling hot blood.

1st spear hit does 14, 2nd does 12 and tail slap (almost a confirmed crit) does 5 for a total of 31. Dividing it between Karas and Anarya would mean 7 + 6 + 2 to Karas and 7 + 6 + 3 to Anarya.

Karas and Ellena counterattacked and wounded the salamander.

Ellena does 16, Karas does 21 to Salamander 1. This is still not half his hp but close.

If this triggers any readied actions of Anarya, Avelina, or Tauni, make these actions next.

The two salamanders that had been hiding behind the forge advanced to join their comrade fight Karas and Ellena. One moved to flank Karas and the other approached Ellena from the other side.

Both of these are doing double moves.

All except Karas and Ellena are up.

"Thanks for lurin' them back out," Raine said to Karas and Ellena. "Let me repay you for takin' some hits..."

She snatched her bow up from where she'd dropped it to free her hands for the crank. A single arrow whistled down at the salamander attacking Ellena.

I'm assuming I probably did have to use both hands to operate the lift, so with weapon juggling just one attack this turn. Vs #5.

Raine's arrow penetrated the salamander's tough hide before it gets up to Ellena, but it still has plenty of fight in it.

As the Salamanders slithered into battle, magic as well as arrows assaulted them from Avelina and Tauni. Avelina's magic balls of force slammed into the salamander attacking Karas, further wounding it. Furthermore she introduced doubt into his heart, weakening his resolve.

15 damage to Salamander 1, shaken for 3 rounds.

Tauni coated the same salamander's spear with magical grease. He almost dropped it but held onto it for the moment.

Anarya can still take a readied action from round 2 and Tauni, Avelina, and Anarya may take round 3 actions.

Anarya suffers 16 damage, and then takes 5 more at the start of her Round 3 actions, healing Karas for 5 hp with Life Link.

Ellena was off balance and misjudged the salamander's ability to wriggle in unusual ways to evade Radiance.

Karas rolled away from the clot of salamanders, easily evading a thrust of the spear of the badly wounded one. His mouth disgorged air so cold, it drew out vital energy from their hot blood, even though they all managed to twist and turn to avoid the worst of the blast. This proved too much for the salamander who had first attacked the pair of heroes who jumped from the cage. The other two showed more wounds, but were still a threat. Unfortunately, Ellena was no able to react quickly enough and suffered bone-chilling cold.

19 lethal to S1, S4, and S5, 26 lethal to Ellena.

The salamander who had been blinded as it rushed to attack Karas lost track of where his enemies were, and so he retreated toward the northeast wall until his vision returned.

The one that remained, attacked Ellena with fury before retreating a little to between the forge and the northwest wall. He managed to stab the paladin but it was not a deep wound.

Karas and Ellena were now better able to see the full extent of the forge area. They saw passageways leading northwest and southeast, with four closed doors. No other defenders could be seen.

Based on real life geometry, #4 is more than 30 feet from Raine, but the norm in PF is to ignore vertical distance to keep things simple.
S4 is blinded so his AC is 5 lower than normal. Still all the attacks miss except the 1st, which would have hit him even if he wasn't blinded.

Raine sent a pair of arrows into the blinded salamander trying to get to refuge. He was seriously wounded, but still alive. 25 to S4.

She sends four more whizzing after the first mated pair, but each flew above, or to the side, or fell short. Apparently, the strange alignment and persistent susurrus of whispers all around was affecting the archer.

At the start of Anarya's turns (both this one and the one she was botted for), both Karas and Ellena get to heal. Karas only gets the healing once, because he won't be injured enough for the ability to trigger at the start of this turn. Ellena heals 10, Karas heals 5.

Blood flows from wounds slowly growing on Anarya's body, mirroring those inflicted on her allies down below. They do not hamper her resolve, though, as she channels her healing light to staunch her bleeding while directing the golden shackles to aid the paladin in her efforts.

Apologies, I somehow missed that I was up. It's bolded and everything...

Raine surveyed the fight a moment and leaned out over the railing to try and give herself a better line.

Attacks starting with S5, unless I can't see him, in which case s4. Will switch targets if 5 drops.

Attack one, deadly aim, rapid shot: 1d20 + 17 - 3 - 2 ⇒ (20) + 17 - 3 - 2 = 32 (Natural 20, potential crit)
Damage, manyshot, deadly aim: 2d8 + 6 + 12 ⇒ (8, 7) + 6 + 12 = 33

Confirm crit?: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (16) + 12 = 28 If that crits, then additional critical damage is: 2d8 + 18 ⇒ (5, 3) + 18 = 26

Attack two (rapidshot) - mythic rapid shot, deadly aim: 1d20 + 17 - 3 - 2 ⇒ (18) + 17 - 3 - 2 = 30
Damage - DA: 1d8 + 3 + 6 ⇒ (5) + 3 + 6 = 14

Attack three (rapidshot) - mythic rapid shot, deadly aim: 1d20 + 17 - 3 - 2 ⇒ (1) + 17 - 3 - 2 = 13
Damage - DA: 1d8 + 3 + 6 ⇒ (8) + 3 + 6 = 17

Attack four (iterative) - mythic rapid shot, deadly aim: 1d20 + 12 - 3 - 2 ⇒ (12) + 12 - 3 - 2 = 19
Damage - DA: 1d8 + 3 + 6 ⇒ (7) + 3 + 6 = 16

Attack five (BOF) - DA: 1d20 + 17 - 3 - 2 ⇒ (17) + 17 - 3 - 2 = 29
Damage - DA: 1d8 + 3 + 6 ⇒ (3) + 3 + 6 = 12

Let's go with Dirty Trick (Entangle).

Raine's first set of arrows penetrates deep into the last remaining salamander on the forge floor. He slumps to the floor, bleeding and near death.

Her next two arrows finish off the blind one to the east of the lift.

No opponents left on the forge floor, although several others fled to a side room when they were blinded so we'll stay in initiative rounds, but Tauni and Anarya may retcon their last posts if necessary.

Ellena calls on Iomedae’s blessings and some of her wounds begin to heal. ”Seems like the last of them have fled. If the rest of you come down, we can go track them down before they get their wits back. “

See this post for details of movement from the upper level to lower. Currently the lift is halfway between top and bottom, with it's floor at 10 feet above the Forge floor. PCs could jump from the top level to the roof of the cage, a 10 foot drop, and then jump 20 feet to the forge floor or climb the cage (DC 10) to get to 10 feet above the floor.

On the Table:
Anarya and Tauni: general acrobatics roll DC 15 to make the move down to the forge floor. Failure means they only get to the top of the lift. Success they get to the forge floor. A roll of 5 or less means they fall ten feet and land on the top of the lift for 1d4 non-lethal damage.
Anarya: Acrobatics: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (6) - 1 = 5
Non-lethal Damage: 1d4 ⇒ 4
Tauni: Acrobatics: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (18) + 2 = 20

Behind the screen:
DC 20
Avelina: Perception: 1d20 - 4 ⇒ (10) - 4 = 6
Karas: Perception: 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (13) + 16 = 29

I've been busy with a new term starting this week. I'm going to 'bot the people up on the upper level and say they use two move actions to get down to the forge floor as described below.

As Ellena healed herself, Tauni slipped through the bars surrounding the lift, let herself part way down by holding onto the lip of the upper level, and dropped the short distance to the top of the lift. She then climbed down the side of the lift and dropped to the forge floor. Ellena heals 17 and is 13 hp down.

Anarya tried to do the same but lost her grip as she was getting through the bars around the lift shaft and tumbled to the top of the lift. She gave herself a few strained muscles in the process 4 points of non-lethal damage.

Meanwhile, Avelina gave Ellena an affectionate tap and smile and headed with Karas toward the door behind which it was likely the remaining salamanders had been hiding to recover from their blindness. Avelina was distracted as usual, worried about the pain Ellena might be feeling from her wounds, but Karas was fully focused on rooting out the enemy. If Karas remains in rage mode, he heals 1 point.

Karas:
Karas hears several voices in the side room talking in Ignan, which he cannot understand. But he can detect 3 distinct voices.

Avelina and Karas can post a move or standard action. Then it will be the surviving salamanders' turns. If anyone else wants to change what was described for them above, post soon.

Karas grinned a toothy maw, steam rising from his cold breath and skin.

In his fury, he moved towards the door with purpose. Holding up 3 fingers as he went and pointing at the door with his other hand.

move action to move to the door

Karas AC: 25
S2: Spear, #1: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (17) + 13 = 30
Spear #1 damage: 1d8 + 6 ⇒ (4) + 6 = 10 plus Heat, fire: 1d6 ⇒ 6

S4: DC 11 Stabilize: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (19) + 6 = 25
S5: DC 28 Stabilize: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (4) + 6 = 10

The door before Karas swung open revealing a room just big enough to hold the three salamanders who had fled into it to recover their sight. The one who opened the door thrust his spear at Karas, getting past his guard and driving into his gut. The heat of the spear was so great, it burned Karas as it cut into him, getting past his innate resistance to heat.

11 damage total (10 piercing, 1 fire after resistance), 5 of which transfers to Anarya.

The other two tried to grab Karas with their long, snake-like tails, but could not get a grip.

Everyone is up.

Round 6

S5 (111 lethal, dying)
S6

Raine can get to floor with a double move action or she can get to the floor with a move action by making two DC 15 acrobatics checks. See rules for acrobatics skill for consequences of failing either check.

Anarya is prone on the top of the lift, which puts her 20 feet above the forge floor. She can get to the floor with a double move: 1 to stand 1 to climb down the side of the cage (DC 10 climb check) and dangle and drop to the forge floor. Failure of the climb check means she is still at the top of the lift; failure by more than 5 means she falls 20 feet.

Ellena double moves, following Karas, cursing silently at her being distracted and not opening the doors herself. ”Im coming,” she yells.

Could you move me on the map, GM? Thanks.

Done. I shifted Avelina over since I'm sure she'd make way for Ellena, even though Ellena cannot get within threat range unless Karas backs up. It is an interesting tactical situation. I'm curious how Karas will handle things.

Tauni bit her lip as she watched Raine start her descent. With a last glance back the way they came, she tries to put the incessant whispers out of her mind as she too begins to make her way down. Double move to go down.

I 'botted Tauni and had her move to the floor last turn. She starts this turn on the forge floor.

Finding herself quickly at the forge floor, Tauni ran next to Avelina. Seeing the remaining salamanders there, something touches her heart.Instead of unleashing an icy fury apoun them, she calls out to them.

Ignan:
"Why do you fight us? Do you serve here of your own accord, loyal to the demon hordes?"

She'll delay, to see if they answer with words or violence.

Edit: By delay, I mean not cast immediately. She'll ready an action to cast ice storm on them if they attack.

Ingnan:
