New year's is a time for self-reflection, at least for me. Thinking about Chaos in Sarlona and my plans for the future of this game, I have come to three conclusions:
1)I am no longer getting much enjoyment out of this campaign. It actually feels like a burden more often than a source of entertainment.
2)I haven't been doing a particularly good job running it for awhile.
3)I am now back at work (more than) full time, which has greatly diminished my ability to run this game well.
For most of you, this game has barely started, although mdt has been playing for a couple years. There are still a lot of story threads I have planned, and a lot of potential for this campaign to continue, and ending the game prematurly would mean throwing out that potential. But without my enjoyment, I'm not sure it would be a good idea to continue. I could probably keep running this game about as well as I have been for awhile, and maybe we'd eventually get to a point where I would enjoy it again. Rigth now, though, I feel like if I try to keep this game going I would be stringing you all along on a false pretense.
So that's how I feel about this particular campaign right now. What are your thoughts? Do you think it is worth trying to keep this game alive?

Pierce - Agent of the Sovereign |

Agreed.
While I love Pierce such is the life of a paper man, sometimes their stories are told and sometimes they are not.
I would be fine with you putting it on hiatus and then perhaps one day when the inspiration hits you can restart the campaign.
A slow PbP does not bother me either but if you are not having fun it will just be a drag for you. DMing is too much work for it to be a drag.

Then that's that, I suppose. If I ever get the energy to restart this game, I'll let all of you know (whether "restarting" means continuing from where we are now or completely redoing the game with a lot of earlier events cut out is not something I could say at this time).
And Jesse/Atsu, while I'm sorry that your favorite D&D character won't be continuing in this game, I hope you can either find another way to play this character, or make one you like even more.
I think the end has been brewing for awhile, but I was in partial denial until this week. I'm going to set this campaign as inactive. Goodbye.

Don't sweat it. I originally played Atsu in another Eberron campaign about a decade ago, but my friend got tired of running really quickly and shelved the game. I thought it was a great stroke of luck to revisit the character, but stuff happens!
