Posting to all my games :

As you should know by now, I'm going to Kuwait for two weeks and leaving today. This week has been very hectic between work, preparing for the trip, and having my work laptop bricked by our IT folks yesterday afternoon (and spending 6 hours getting data off the drive and resetting the OS).

I will try to get a post up on all games today before I go, but it will likely be this weekend before I can post, assuming I can do so from the hotel in Kuwait. I'll also be on Kuwait time, so likely I will only get a post or two up a day due to time differences.

I'll be back to US time in two weeks.

Have fun (to the extent possible in Kuwait).

Helac stops at the door, apparently distracted. He feels along the mental network stringing Nik'o, Tierney, Revion, and himself together, looking for signs of not just a lessening of vigor, but also lurking dangers like disease and poison.

Satisfied that no one is in immediate danger from either the ghostly claws or gnashing teeth they encountered, Helac continues on to check on Adharc.

When Kiana opens the door, the halfling runs towards her, still looking terrified.

"Oh! By the Host thou art still here! Just a moment ago some dark human-like monster emerged from yon hut, and ensnared and carried off the man who was with you earlier! It flew down into the wretched city!"

Sure enough, Gedeon is nowhere to be seen.

Was there another door to the outside for Helac to take, or are we just saying that he walked slowly enough that everything interfered with his desire to check on his mount outside?... I'm going to have to meta a bit, because even though as a player I know that Gedeon's player has stopped playing, Helac probably would not just leave Gedeon to a monster...

I feel that my original party was on the Hidden Planet and an invisible creature is picking us off. :\

Oops, that was a mistake on my part, let me just fix that real quick:P

Also, the next week or so is going to be pretty hectic for me in real life. I should still be able to post every day, but I might not post as many times per day and there may be a longer delay time between long posts.

Aid Another: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (8) + 2 = 10 Helac reaches out and grabs the shoulder of Revion's explorers outfit. Here's hoping Revion doesn't mind if I make a Reflex save for him to move things along. Reflex Save: 1d20 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (7) + 2 + 2 = 11 Revion hops backwards, avoiding the black blob itself but not the hole that yawns under his feet. Unprepared for the sudden weight, Helac loses his grip on his compatriot's clothes and Revion slips into the darkness. Helac, hearing an almost immediate soft whump, shouts down Revion, are you well enough? while trying to keep an eye on the construct should he hurl more blades or esoteric things his way.

I don't mind.

GM Deranged Maniac, yesterday was Thanksgiving (U.S holiday) so I was unavailable. I'm back now and will post this evening as my work today has me very busy.

Did Revion take the potion of CMW that Tierney offered him? If not, then Tierney is going to use it himself now.

As soon as I get home I'll get some posting up.

FYI: tomorrow is a busy day for me at work. I'll be pulling a 12 hour shift so I'll be exhausted when I get home. I'll get something up on Thursday.

Thursday : 9 hours of work
Friday, 1AM Kuwait time : Plane delayed, wait 2 hours, take off
Friday, 2PM Central Time, US : Land
Friday, 3:30PM Central Time : Get home
Friday, 4PM : Collapse in bed
Saturday : Run around doing everything I thought I had 4 days off to do.
Sunday : Repeat running around, collapse, sick and coughing. Take nyquil
Monday : 2:30AM, get up and get ready for 5AM flight.
Monday : 4:15AM, realize I left laptop at house, no computer, call wife, arrange to have it overnighted.
Monday : 7AM, Get on connecting flight to Calgary, wait 90 minutes on tarmack
Monday : Noon Calgary time : Land Calgary
Tuesday : Noon, laptop arrives
Tuesday : 3:15PM : Post this message

Sorry for the sudden absence yesterday and most of today, I had a computer failure. It's fixed now.

That's fair. I've been having computer issues as well. I have just been hoping that nobody notices. :)

We are nearing the end of the year, a time when a lot of people go on vacation, and a lot of other people work extra shifts.
For me, personally, holidays have a rather small effect on how much time I can devote to things like gaming (actually, after this week, I'll probably have more free time than usual). For a lot of people, I know, however, the end-of-the-year-holidays are a hectic time.

Hence, I'd like to do a quick straw poll to see what people's year-end schedules are like. If it turns out all or most of the group will be unavailable from the 24th through January 2nd, then we can plan on putting the game on hiatus. Otherwise, we can continue normally.

I'll be here off and on throughout the period.

I have a week off starting December 25th to January 1st. I won't be very busy the entire time so I can commit to posting from the 29th onwards.

I will probably be able to post most days between now and then. I am sure that there will be a day or two, here and there, that I will be away from the computer.

No big change to my posting is expected.

I just started a new job, so my posting over all will be less, but once a day should be no problem. The holidays themselves have little to no impact for me.

Am I the only one having trouble keeping track of all the NPCs?

I was worried I had introduced too many NPCs too quickly. The slow pace of pbps probably also gives people more time to forget what is going on and who is who. I put summaries of what y'all know about the NPCs in the 'campaign info' tab. It only includes the NPCs which are most likely to be referenced again, and I'll probably add to it as you learn more about NPCs and meet new ones.

You're welcome, it was my fault for introducing too many too quickly.
Fortunately, I already have the layout of the Starlight Tomb written in a form that I can easily share with you....

My computer has been infected with malware. The next thing I was going to post was too long for a phone post, so I will be delayed until either I can use another or fix mine (it's both my personal and work computer). Sorry.

Understood, no worries. As long as we know what's up.

Update:
The malware was a browser hijacker. Malware Bytes, Adwcleaner, and Microsoft Scanner all failed to remove it. Adwcleaner could detect it, but not remove it. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling firefox. It didn't help, but in the process I noticed that neither IE nor Chrome were affected; the problem was limited to firefox.
Then, I did a search and deleted all files with 'firefox' in their name, along with all files contained in folders with 'firefox' in their name. This included a few files designated as critical, which windows stores to remember that firefox was installed at one point. My suspicion was that adwcleaner had identified the malware inside one of the 'critical' files, but did not delete it due to being set not to alter critical files.

Then I reinstalled firefox and the problem was gone!

So, my problem is tentatively fixed. It is entirely possible that the hijacker is still somewhere on my computer, but latent. If it resurfaces, I'll format my hard-drive and do a clean install.

Unfortunately, I have to withdraw from this game despite the fact that I was greatly enjoying it. Due to changes in my work schedule and other real-life concerns, I no longer have the time to post with any regularity. I have had a great time and hope that you all continue to have a wonderful time.

I understand. It was fun having you in the group, but if you have to go you have to go.

Everyone else:
I think four PCs is an appropriate size for the party, so the game can continue without (further) delay. Tierney will be an NPC for a short time, and there will soon be an in-world reason for him to leave the group.

I apologize in advance for not posting recently. I lost my job which has led me to scramble to get things in motion to keep my bills paid. I will be getting a post up tonight to keep things moving.
