I vowed to never see either when I heard sparkly vampires.
Shame, the special effects on the movies looked decent in the previews, but guck!

Making a posting in all games I'm running and playing in.
For those who have noticed that the last 3-4 weeks I've been spotty and somewhat irritable, I apologize. There's a lot of work things going on, and also some RL things going on. As of this morning, the surgeons confirmed my wife needs a fairly serious operation, which is now scheduled for the end of the month.
I will continue to be here, but, especially toward the end of May, I'm likely to be very very spotty and cranky. Sorry in advance. Please bear with me.
If things get to the point where I need to place things on hold, I'll let you know, but I don't think it'll get there (assuming nothing bad happens).

Post in all games :
Wife's surgery got moved back a day (scheduling issues in OR). Surgery was completed last night, went smoothly, doctor very pleased with himself. :) Wife awake and says even with the pain from the surgery it's a night and day difference in how she felt before, so good news on that front. I'm afraid I'll be busy again today, but hopefully will be able to get all games caught up and going again by end of week.

Kiana Sunbane |

Sorry, been busy. :(
I'll let Helac decide, since I've not caught up on posts yet.

Kiana Sunbane |

Sorry to hear that, condolences. Life comes first.

I will be visiting family starting tomorrow and ending Tuesday. I should still be able to post at approximately normal rates, but I will be three time zones removed from where I normally am, so if you're one of those people who keeps track of when others are usually online then adjust your predictions. I'll also be away from my physical RPG books, although I doubt that that will matter much for this game.

After beating the giant otyugh, the three of you (plus Charivia) went through a secret passage north and arrived at a room with the entrance to the King's Vault (containing the Shadow Tooth). It will only open when all four Keys are inserted into the pedestals. You had previously seen the first key (in the room where you fought the ghoul), but were told that whoever removes it would be cursed unless all four were removed at once.
In the secret passage and the room you are currently in, you met Harshuun (a yuan-ti) and Chumani (a half-giant), both from the tribe of Lady Prugshon. They are there to obtain the Shadow Tooth as well. They also want something called the Death Tooth, but they aren't sure whether it is here or in a completely different location.
Chumani and Harshuun were trying to find the fourth key, which they said was in the 'Hidden Chamber'. You previously learned (shortly after entering this dungeon) that the hidden chamber was somewhere north of the entrance. You also observed a secret door north of the entrance back on page 21, which might lead to the hidden chamber (but you haven't told the yuan-ti).
Harshuun is actually the yuan-ti you fought on pages 18-19 (he thought you were with the Harmonious Shield, and has since been corrected).
To protect the keys from the Harmoinous Shield, Harshuun purports to have removed the third key from is place, without the others being removed at the same time (since he didn't know where the fourth key was). Hence, he says he was cursed with severe vulnerability to injury (you didn't see it happen, it's just what he told you).
You were attacked by four agents of the Harmonious Shield (two ogres, one human, one changeling). The Riedrans offered you three the chance to side with them against the yuan-ti, but Kiana and Helac chose to (at least for now) help Chumani and Harshuun fight the Harmonious Shield.
A few rounds of combat have since passed, in which Harshuun died outright, and the human Riedra was knocked unconscious.
When I get home tomorrow I plan to update and reorganize the NPC Compendium on the campaign tab, to make it easier to keep track of what is going on....

That's amazingly helpful. Thanks!

Since we're using the fast progression, that should put us about 400 pts from level 5, yes? So it would probably be a good idea to go ahead and start our leveling up process yes? So the mods are ready to go?

Kiana Sunbane |

Would you be ok with altering Kiana to the Unchained Monk at level 5?

Kiana Sunbane |

I'm considering what to take at 5th level. Honestly, Zen Archer might not be the best choice, it might be better to switch into Slayer (Sniper) archetype, or Marksman (Sniper Style), or Marksman (Sniper Style, Shroud Archetype). Thoughts? (Players and GM)

Deranged_Maniac_Beth |
Remember, if you switch to a class or build that uses Concentration, everyone but Helac is still suffering from a curse delivered by the guardian ghast that gives a penalty to concentration checks.
Regardless, I'm okay with you rebuilding as another class, or multiclassing next level.
Also, I should warn you that once you get out of the Starlight Tomb, I expect the next leg of the campaign to be mostly outside, in contrast with the underground setting so far.

Deranged_Maniac_Beth |
I don't think so. The ogre only did 31 damage. Helac had 20 temporary hp, so he shouldn't have taken more than 11 'real' damage. Also, Helac used Share Pain, and posted that he took 15 off of his psicrystal's temporary hit-points.
I am not tracking y'all's hit-points for you, though, so I'm counting on you to tell me when you've fallen unconscious.

Helac |

Correct. A manifester can have any power he manifests on himself also affect his psicrystal. Casting vigor on himself gives Helac and Eroh both 20 temp hp and Share Pain lets Helac split the damage he takes with Eroh.
So that eats up most of the temp hp that Helac spent two rounds and 7 power points to set up. It does however make me wonder if when you loose temp hp, do you still need to make concentration checks when you cast/manifest?

I don't know of any rules on the matter. I think that it should count as being damaged for concentration purposes, since you are still being hurt. You just have a bigger reserve of health than normal.
So, let's go with that. If you lose temporary hit-points by being hit, it counts as damage for concentration purposes. That's only if you are hit while you are casting/manifesting, or concentrating on maintaining a spell/power with a duration of concentration, though.
