I am proposing you my first CORE PFS Campaign (check the link if you are unaware of the new CORE Campaign rules). I am very excited about this new option and want to give it a try.
The chosen adventure will be the Master of the Fallen Fortress. This is a dungeon crawl repeatable for level 1 characters. As most probably you all will be creating your CORE first character, I think this can be a very successful module to run as a first trial to the new PFS mode and a very well suited for those of you approaching PFS, PbP or Pathfinder in general for the first time.
What I will be expecting?
Character builds: Only core rulebook as for the CORE PFS Campaign rules.
Posting frequency: 2 times per day
Playing style: Fast pace with capacity to RP (I want fluid combats with characters that have paid a minimum observance to a background and make an effort for party interaction)
Party size: 5 or 6
Pregens: I will accept pregens, but will give priority to CORE build characters.
GMing style: I make passive rolls, as Perception, Initiative or Saves. GM bots and delay if only one player is missing to act will be frequent.
Mapping tools: You are expected to have access to view (and preferably edit) google docs maps.
Just provide a couple ideas of possible CORE characters you will like to play with (class and race is enough). I will check your previous gaming experience and take into account party balance when selecting who is going in.
People who has GMed me (past or present) will have priority.
I plan to start the game once the Gameday 3 has officially ended, 1 of February 2015, but might start earlier as well if I get satisfied with the gathered party.
Good luck everyone!

It is a first experience. I have seen Paizo has already enabled CORE characters creation, so that's why I decided to start the game.
On your Pathfinder Society page, you can now select 'Create a new CORE character'. You can do it now or at any moment before we start once you have clear your idea. Core characters will appear with a (Core) mark after their name.
I also expect the reporting system will be totally functional for CORE by the time we finish the module.
Do not forget to propose at least one combination of class-race in this post for the character you would like to play! You can add some extra description to help me figure out a balanced party, as for example: elf rogue melee, human cleric melee, halfling sorcerer blaster or gnome wizard controller.

Ok great. I've never actually played PFS before. I'll go register if I get approved. I was thinking a Dwarven Druid Melee, A Dwarven Paladin melee, or A human Ranger longbow user.
VinGoodman |
A bard! A bard! You clearly need a bard. I'm a gonna go human support bard, taking Weapon Focus(Whip) and Dazzling Display at level 1. Hehehe...
Oh, wait, I can't do that. Grr...
Hold on...more brainstorming coming...
Ok, Mirima's big brother Elf Conjurer Wizard it is. Bet Mirima (an alter ego) didn't know she had an older brother.
Style...hmm...I'll call him versatile and not totally useless (but, he is level 1, so it'll be close to that).

Please, make sure your character's were created by the 'Create new CORE character' option.
I don't think The Lion Cleric is a CORE character as it seems previous to the existence of the CORE creation button.
The way to check it by sure is going to your PFS account if you see a (Core) mark after the character name, then it is a Core character. I don't know of any way yet for the GM to check it previous reporting.
Please, make sure of this, as otherwise we will have problems on reporting.

Ah GM, sorry I didn't identify myself. I submitted Sonn Rinn Mordin, the Dwarven Druid. I'll make sure he is marked CORE, or remake him.
Of course, if we need the flexibility, I can also play my other two ideas you've cataloged above... :)

SPECIAL ABILITIES
=================================================
Aberrant Bloodline There is a taint in your blood, one that is alien and bizarre.
Acidic Ray (Su) You can fire an acidic ray as a standard action, targeting any foe within 30 feet as a ranged touch attack. This ray deals 1d6 points of acid damage. You can use this ability 7 times per day.
Asmodean Demon Hunter (Asmodeus) Raised in the church of Asmodeus (whether or not you are currently a follower), you've focused your indoctrinated fervor primarily on the elimination of demons. You gain a +3 trait bonus on Knowledge (planes) checks about demons and a +2 trait bonus on Will saves against mind-affecting spells and effects from demons.
Bloodline Arcana Whenever you cast a spell of the polymorph subschool, increase the duration of the spell by 50% (minimum 1 round). This bonus does not stack with the increase granted by the Extend Spell feat.
Cantrips You learn a number of cantrips, or 0-level spells. These spells are cast like any other spells, but they do not consume any slots and may be used again.
Defensive Training (Ex) Gnomes get a +4 dodge bonus to AC against monsters of the giant type.
Eschew Materials
Gnome Magic (Sp) Gnomes add +1 to the DC of any saving throws against illusion spells that they cast. Gnomes with a Charisma of 11 or higher also gain spell-like abilities.
Hatred (Ex) Gnomes receive a +1 bonus on attack rolls against humanoid creatures of the reptilian and goblinoid subtypes due to special training against these hated foes.
Illusion Resistance (Ex) Gnomes get a +2 racial saving throw bonus against illusion spells or effects.
Insider Knowledge (Grand Lodge Faction) (Diplomacy) Venture-Captain Valsin likes to keep abreast of situations within the Pathfinder Society, and you do your best to emulate him. Choose either Diplomacy or Knowledge (local). You gain a +1 trait bonus on all related checks, and the chosen skill is always a class skill for you.
Keen Senses (Ex) Gnomes receive a +2 bonus on Perception skill checks.
Low-Light Vision (Ex) You can see x2 as far as humans in low illumination. Characters with low-light vision have eyes that are so sensitive to light that they can see twice as far as normal in dim light. Low-Light Vision is color vision. A spellcaster with low-light vision can read a scroll as long as even the tiniest candle flame is next to her as a source of light. Characters with low-light vision can see outdoors on a moonlit night as well as they can during the day.
Obsessive (Ex) Gnomes receive a +2 racial bonus on a Craft or Profession skill of their choice.
Weapon and Armor Proficiency Sorcerers are proficient with all simple weapons. They are not proficient with any type of armor or shield. Armor of any type interferes with a sorcerer's gestures, which can cause his spells with somatic components to fail.
Weapon Familiarity (Ex) Gnomes treat any weapon with the word "gnome" in its name as a martial weapon.
I think factions exist in Core? If not I'll dump it for reactionary
GM Rutseg |
Nigel@ factions exist, and you can pick the corresponding traits existant in the PFS Guide.
A pitty Luke, see you soon around ;)
Recruitment will be still open for some days so more people has time to apply.
Rookies welcome Paizo PbP, don't be shy to apply! This will be a very nice adventure and group to learn Pathfinder and PbP!
GM Rutseg |
Unfortunatelly Draylan, they are not allowing us to transition those characters to Core Campaign.
If you held a normal Campaign chronicle, you are Normal character. Only if you create the character with the 'Create New Core Character' and the (Core) tag is automatically appended to your name, you classify for it.
You can always create a new char if you are interested.
