An energetic gnome bounds into the meeting area, his bright blue hair wafting about as it sticks up out of a ruined wizard's hat. As each party member enters, he bows theatrically and announces, "I am Aloisius Rudolpho Atama Ymerawdwr Lanlen the Mashugana Master gnome! Through my craft and power, I seeking to earn even more names for myself! If there are none to be had, I will make one up! Pleased to meet you!"
This sorcerer will level to 4 after part 2. Shouldn't kill the APL but wanted to declare it anyway.

A less-energetic gnome strolls in, quite nonchalantly. "Pleased to meet you, Aloisius Rudolpho Atama Ymerawdwr Lanlen the Mashugana Master. I, myself, simply go by Haliphod Kittrili. I lost my other names due to a, well, let's just say an unfortunate circumstance. But this will do for now, yes it will, thank you very much!"
"So, what's your line of work? "

![]() |

"Oh, no no no! That won't do at all! We shall have to get you another name to add to the mix. Maybe even three!
"As for work, I study various potions and oils and tinctures and balms and salves and rubs and salts and admixtures and ingredients and herbs and oils and... wait, no said that one already... but all the stuff that gets brought in. What about you?"

a man walks in and stands at 6' and is about 230lbs an imposing figure to most his brown skin seems to have odd golden hue to it as if small golden scales are right under his skin. His eyes look as two small golden orbs sitting before a fire. His hair black it is kept tight and trimmed close to his head as it sides and fades into a few inches of growth above his ears.
"Hello new companions on this task, I am Korin Sangre have been sent from the Dark Archive as my first tasking. I have as yet tested this new body and its power since my rebirth but i will do what i can to help in this endeavor. Well met"
My these are some small folk.. Korin thought to himself as he spoke
I have a character look link to show what i look like just with out the Great sword...for now ^+^

"Me? Well, I am the weather man! Some of my friends used to call me Stormy, in part because of my powers to manipulate air and lightning, but also I think because I would get a little angry with them... but I am much better now!"
I just had to change my character, because I didn't realize my two domains had to come from a deity's list, so had to dump trickery...

![]() |

Shame. Aloisius loves a bit of trickery and fun.

"Changing weather? Does it change with your moods? I don't know how I'd like that... Ah! Another for our team! Welcome! We were just discussing our lives outside the adventuring. What about you, big black-gold man? What's your job? Occupation? Profession?"

While the other three speak, a medium man enters the meeting area. He has a brute semblant, his brown hair fills his head and his mistreated beard.
Besides his rude aspect, he displays many weapons on his body - spear, sword, bow, and others. Despite this, his eyes have something strangely different and he always sustains a sneering smile.
What do we have here, a "small party"?, he smiles to the gnomes. Can I enjoy the circus, buddies? Like our big friend there, I have been sent here from the Dark Archive, after dispatch a Chelaxian pirate to hell with the help of other field agents.
The ranger looks for some place to sit and continues: By the way, I'm Peter Krauss.

"Alas, by the light of Sarenrae, I have found it! I am sorry I am late. I hope I have not missed too much."
The young crimson-haired woman rushes into the room, out of breath from her haste.

Haliphod grumbles a few words, and flicks a few fingers, and suddenly music starts playing quietly right at Peter's ear.
What a hell...?!, Peter looks surprised with the trick. Well, is better than an opera, he says with a smile in his face.
"More from the Archives! That makes three of us! Though I am surprised I haven't run into either of you in the stacks."
Always have a first time, my friend. And I believe this will be a nice first time. I have a feeling that something magnificent is waiting for us.
When Lasaraleen enters the room, Peter takes a look at her and continues: See it?! I told you, my little friend. Hello, ms. red hair without a name. Welcome to the 'rest room'.

![]() |

Lasaraleen smiles briefly and nods to those assembled, looking for familiar faces.
I have a name in fact. But even if I did not, you could call me Lasaraleen."

![]() |

The azure haired gnome scratches his wild beard. "Lassy... Lasso... Lasafrassen... I think I shall dub you Laseringleen the Red! Then we can just call you Red! I don't think I can remember Lannisterspleen even if I tried."
"Oh! But don't worry! Having many names is a great honour in my peoples! I mean no disrespect!"

A tall, well-muscled half-elf, dressed in a simple explorer's outfit draped over the top of some quite-functional banded mail, a morningstar at his belt, a shield on his back, and butterfly-shaped holy symbol around his neck, strides into the room.
"Hello everyone! My name is Giovanni di Pietro di Bernardone, but most people just call me Giovanni."
He smiles broadly, noting that there are a number of gnomes in the party, before continuing.
"Who here is ready for a journey?"

“I have a routine mission for you, though a dangerous routine mission.” Venture-Captain Drandle Dreng whispers to you. This old man in the great hall of the Grand Lodge has seen better days. You heard he was sick last week, and the lack of sleep and food had taken its toll on him.
"An ally of ours in the Land of the Linnorm Kings—Rognvald Skagni—is writing a lengthy report on the state of government in the northern countries of Avistan. I received a letter from him just yesterday requesting several key documents from the vaults here to help him finish the report." Right on que, a pair of agents carried a large, heavy chest and gently placed it at Dreng's feet. "These are the documents, and I need you to board a ship north to deliver them to Skagni. Here, take this key."
The man struggled to stand up and handed one of you a key, as well as a small pouch. "The key opens the chest, and the gold in this pouch will buy you passage and get you from the Linnorm coast to Trollheim, where Skagni resides. Whatever you do, do not let the chest out of your sight and do not, under any circumstances, allow it to be searched. These documents are for Mr. Skagni’s eyes only."
"Take care, it's cold up there!" He begins laughing, only to enter another coughing fit. He gives you a moment to ask questions before sending you on your way.
The chest is about 2 feet wide, 4 feet long and 3 feet deep. It's made of oak bound with iron and locked with an enourmous steel lock. It weighs about 100 pounds. You'll need to carry this around until you deliver it.
Feel free to buy items and equipment from Absalom or Trollheim.

by its cold up there I assume he means snow...right how much is a cold weather outfit. .
Korin gets up "well I don't have any questions for your sir but my companions migh, I'll let's them ask I'm off to get some cold weather clothing"

likewise on the endure elements.
"I do not have much coin remaining after my initial training from the lodge. I can keep myself warm in the frigid weather but I am afraid I will not be much help on other purchases yet."

"I could join ya in the wearing of thick furs, but something about fur makes me sniffly! I think I'll take a different route."
Aloisius runs off to market and comes back with a stick. "Here we go! And I'll be willin' to share, too, of course! I doubt we'll be gone long enough to use it up!"
Purchasing wand of endure elements, 750 gp. 3rd level, may as well spend some cash to aid the party!

Drandle, can you tell us more about Rognvald Skagni? Who is he? How can we recognize him when we see him? And what kind of problems does he have there?

GM chadius |

Drandle, can you tell us more about Rognvald Skagni? Who is he? How can we recognize him when we see him? And what kind of problems does he have there?
"Skagni's a blonde mix of elf and human. Very dedicated to his research, and a big fan of the frozen lands. He was a Pathfinder, so you can find his Wayfinder pretty easily. Dreng coughs a bit as he describes the man.
"As far as I know, many of the lands up there aren't keen to outsiders- think of it as a matter of pride. Hopefully nothing too bad happened to him and this will be a boring delivery for you all. Not every mission ends with a slain dragon!" The Venture-Captain breaks into laughter. "If you've got nothing else, off ya go. I need to get some rest."

GM chadius |

About a month later, the party finally locates the Skagni's home in Trollheim. Some of this is due to Venture-Captain Dreng's terrible writing, and some of this is due to unhelpful townspeople. It seems like no one really wants to speak of Skagni, often ignoring the questions or telling you they weren't involved.
It becomes clear why no one wants to talk about Skagni: his home has been burnt to the ground. Bits of burnt timber and ruined furniture lie scattered about, but if anything remained after the fire, it seems to have been picked over and looted. Though most of the walls are blackened with soot, a patch along the former front of the residence still shows relatively clean, white walls. Smeared across those white walls, written in reddish-brown letters four feet tall, are the words, “Pathfinders go home.”
Feel free to make Heal and Perception checks as you investigate the ruins. I have updated the map to show Skagni's house.

Peter and Giovanni are able to identify the brown-red paint as blood. They aren't sure how old the blood is, but it must have happened after the home was burned down.
Giovanni finishes observing the sign, when he hears something from the bushes right outside of the house. He has enough time to warn his companions as four thugs emerge and run towards the building, with axes drawn.
"Leave the tiny leader alone. Take out everyone else." The apparent leader shouts to his men and points at Aloisuis.

Giovanni and Korin, it will be nice if you positioning your tokens on the map, mainly for the rest of the group know what will we do and, of course, to know if your PCs have enough movement to get close to the thugs.

Peter, it's not player error. The maps are in view only mode.
Aloisius grins as he moves towards the lead thug. "Leader, huh? I like the sound of it! But, dear friends, I am afraid we can't do killing anyone, sooo..." The gnome throws a cloud of colourful lights at the leader and the nearest thug. "Colors!"
Moving three squares diagonally, 20', to the northeast. Then Color Spray, DC 16 will save to negate

![]() |

yah I can't move my token for two reasons, it's in view mode and I'm on my phone, sorry. But looking at were I am on the map I should be able to move 15 feet and hit 4 of them with my spell as it has a 15 foot cone...if I'm worn I would just have moved closer before I cast

@Aloisius and @Korin: LOL. You're right, the document is in "view only" mode.

"Now why do you think 'he' is the leader? Especially if you are killing the 'others'! Don't you think you better be sure who to capture?"
Meanwhile, Haliphod sees the battle is probably already well handled, but prepares his trident in case an attack gets through. He then summons a mini-storm about the middle thug.
Ranged Touch Attack: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (17) + 3 = 20

Round
Lasaraleen realizes the battle is well in hand, and waits for the dust to clear.
Alosius fires a pair of magic missiles at his foe.
Giovanni realizes the thugs' folly in overstepping their bounds but he can't seem to get a solid blow. Unlike Korin, who shows Gio how a morningstar is used.
The thugs manage to evade Haliphod's electricity and Peter's charge.
With his leader down, the normal colored thug loses heart. "The boss didn't pay me enough for this! I'm outta here!" He begins to flee (provoking an AoO from Peter and Korin.)
The Green Thug decides to try his luck, though.
