Timona, you fall into the oubliette, fortunately you land in water, take 10 points of damage. At the bottom of the oubliette lies the body of a human male along with 30 feet of old rope. There is among the remains 120gp,a broken masterwork heavy crossbow, a masterwork longsword, a ring of keys and finally a mace and a stone which both show up as magical.

"Ouch my bones." Timona quickly grabs everything, does a quick look around and grabs the rope and throws it up to the top. "Catch this rope." She tries to climb back up.

Have we found the warden's badge? We should search for that, especially since that's probably his ring of keys in the oubliette.

Zephra makes sure they have looked in all the rooms in this part of the prison before suggesting they try the only direction from the crossroads they haven't taken.

Ortensia,bleeding and looking noticeably haggard,slumps against the wall cluthing the bloodstained handax. She quivered in a mix of anxiety,pain,and adrenaline.

...I have very much decided I am not fond of combat. But I am quite adequate at it.

Feel free to roll til you're full and I'll subtract from the usage. I can only enhance the healing 4 times a day atm and used 3. So for the most part the die will just be 1d8+1 These wands are cheap and I plan to usually always have one. I'll get us started.

It would be easier on me if Ortensia put her active hp/max hp in the classes field on the alias page. Then I can just see your HP. :)

This guardroom contains a single large table with two chairs astride it and a single sagging cot pushed up against the eastern wall. Several battered cabinets line the northern wall, with a few arrows and bits of chainmail lying scattered on the floor nearby, yet the most eerie sight are the three fractured skulls sitting on the table next to a heavy hammer. It looks as if someone has arranged the fragments of the skulls in some sort of pattern, as if an attempt had been made to construct a fourth skull from the broken fragments of the trio on the table. The leathery body of a long-dead dwarf, his wiry red hair and beard still strangely vibrant in death, lies slumped on the ground behind the table.

What does Zephra have to do to put the haunt to rest? Barring any more specific information, she'll try using the positive energy of her fervor.

Ortensia tossed the masterwork bloodstained ax back into her satchel,flexing her aching hands from gripping it so hard.

She observed the room and its contents,not bothering to take out her journal. She would commit it to memory and record it later.

Hi all,

So here is the discussion page we will be using for the campaign.

So I have a question - do you guys want maps as we go along, if so please could someone give guidance on how I can make them shareable - I'm assuming copying and pasting in the thread is not allowed?

Other things to mention:

Some of this campaign is about investigation - finding out about your enemies before meeting them.

I will do the passive checks for you using the stats on your sheets such as Perception and knowledge checks but you can always ask for a more active check (which you will roll) if you want.

Ok so plan will be to post at least every 1-2 days. Not sure where everyone is from but as I am in the UK I will probably be posting at times when it is either early morning/late at night so you might find that any replies from me might take a little longer.

The very first thing creatures notice about this quiet half-orc is that she quite...ugly. She knows she's ugly and has accepted as an undeniable fact that cannot be changed. So not to startle those she meet, she wears a veil.

Casually, she will employ her unfortunate features to scare off potential threats or outright intimidate others if the situation calls for it.

The second thing that's noticeable about her is that she is quite tall and skinny to the point of appearing gaunt. She has been repeatedly mistaken for a hag, a demonic tainted drow, and even a fetch. Her skin is the color of blackish gray leathers due to her parentage--instead of the standard greenskin orc most of Golarion know, she is partially black orc. A fearsome breed of orc other orcs cringe in fear and suspicion of that are thought to hail either from the Darklands or the Shadow Plane.

Even more unusually, she was adopted by and raised by the daughter of a dwarven farmer. Presumably out of pity instead of outright killing her, her mother introduced her to civilized society. She was found as a straggler following a roving warband of orcs,half-orcs,and half-goblins that were slaughtered to a few scattered survivors by a combined effort of fed up farmers and villagers.

To this end, her adopted family accepted her begrudgingly as an odd addition. She expressed interest in being more refined and her mother indulged her desire by paying for and sending her off to a finishing school,where the awkward ugly halforc child became a gentlelady rivaling most nobles.

This also awakened an innate potential for psychic magic due to her experiences at said finishing school involving a youth stealing shapeshifting witch among the staff she managed to uncover and survive prior to returning home.

Realizing that she could not train her daughter's psychic abilities, she sent her to a famed professor in a land steeped in the occcult to hone her skills. Ortensia agreed, eager to improve herself and discover more about her powers.

Bidding her adopted family farewell, the halforc made her way to distant lands. On the way she broadened her horizons and enriched her knowledge of the world and its creatures.

Now she is an occultist, honing herself to the best she can be. Anything ahead was an opportunity to improve herself.

Okay, so Ortensia plans to search The Lorrimor Place first since this is where she's sleeping and staying. Then to the Restlands for the crypt cache and maybe the Professor's grave.

Temple of Pharasma probably the best place for our clerics.

The Unfurling Scroll will be the last place Ortensia would look since I'm guessing its a library and its not going anywhere. Searching it would probably take the most time.

As far as shared backstory, Evrasi, do you want us to know each other already? Seems like it would be simple to justify since we were both raised in the same temple. Zephra was sent away when she turned 18, but her memories of Evrasi would likely lead Zephra to increased trust in her, which is probably good in this spooky, scary place.

Well, I'm willing to try and make it work. My idea was that Zephra's mother had been possessed by a necromancer during her life, and she died while she was still out of her body. As a restless spirit, she followed her daughter until Zephra came close enough to her body for her to take possession of it again. The high priestess of Pharasma was able to exorcise her.

I imagined that the necromancer possessing Zephra's mother during her life was specifically interested in Professor Lorrimor for some reason, and used Zephra's mother to get close to him. Perhaps the professor had already begun to investigate the Whispering Way, and they wanted to know how much he had learned?

Zephra was raised in a convent, which might not have been part of the grand temple in Lepidstadt. Or perhaps it was part of it, they just had dormitories and schoolyards further away.

What about your backstory? Anything in there we can weave together?
