Hi all, still having issues posting, will try to catch up when I can.


Ok looks like the site is back up so hopefully we can get things going again.

I'm thinking...we should withdraw. This is a random encounter. A deadly one.

I think we have enough clues.We should look at the tools.

Now that i think of it,somebody must have grave robbing and got caught. Maybe somebody trying to slap together another flesh golem?

But I'm down to put down a monster. But Ortensia would rather avoid it.


Ok so something has come up in one of my other games that I wanted people's input on.

Basically are you happy with how we do the initiative/combat or would you prefer it if I did a form of block initiative?


This is fine, it's just 3 of us. Block is good I suppose when there are a lot of players but it won't do much for us here.

I agree, it's a little more true to the rules to do it as the dice fall.


Ok, so I messaged Ortensia on Sunday but stil haven't heard anything back. Should I recruit another player/players and if so what classes are best?


I don't have preference on what players play but I would like to see another player or two.

Hey folks! Excited to join this campaign. What do you think is the easiest way for me to insert myself. Looks like you are in the middle of some breaking and entering right now?

In case you didn't get a chance to look at my character yet, Creeden is a tanky brawler and a former tavern fighter who is trying to get his life together.

Yep. I should be using +6 attk not +3. And since I'm on str drain, i just i subtract 1 for attk and dmg

Would one of you be able to give a quick breakdown of what has happened so far? I'm not familiar with the AP. What are your goals? Who might have sent us to help you?

Happy to jump in as soon as it makes sense. Even if I need to say, "I heard strange noises in the chymic works."


A very brief basic summary:

Act 1:

Party received news that an old mentor and friend Professor Petros Lorrimor from Ravengro had died and they were named in his will.

The will asked them to take some books to Lepidstadt no sooner than 1 month after the reading of the will and also left them the Professor's journal which detailed research into the nearby abandoned prison of Harrowstone and a secret order of necromancers known as the Whispering Way.

Investigating old records the party strongly suspected that the Whispering Way had killed the professor and they decided to investigate Harrowstone.

Investigating the prison they found 5 extremely dangerous ghosts and the friendlier ghost of the warden's wife who was able to banish the spirits once the party had defeated them. They vanquished the spirits and left Ravengro safe.

Act 2:

Party delivered book to Judge Daramid in Lepistdadt and discovered that a creature known as the Beast of Lepidstadt was on trial.

The Judge asked them to investigate all the crimes the Beast was accused of as she didn't think the Beast was guilty.

They first went to Morast where the Beast was accused of killing 20 people. On investigating the area they discovered that witnesses claimed that the beast had been bitten by a blood caiman, although there were no corresponding bite marks on the Beast itself. They also found a set of surgical tools.

On examining the surgical tools they discovered that they had been bought by a man called Grine of Vorgstag and Grine's chymic works. Having no luck trying to talk their way in they decided to sneak in and have a look around and are currently engaged in combat.

Okay, I'm going to go with the fact that I'm doing a favor for Judge Daramid to pay off some of my debt to society. He's sent me to check up on his investigators and I've followed you folks to the Chymic works. I'll catch up with you after this battle.

My character had met the Professor in life, though, so I don't think it will be much of a stretch to say I'm interested in the larger goings on of the plot.

Ok so as there are more players now we'll be moving to block initiative if that's OK.

So basically how I'll be doing this is rolling initiative for everyone and then determining blocks. In order to make things a bit smoother and keep things moving I'd be grateful if on the first initiative pass everyone could give an idea of what they are likely to be doing for the fight including any readying etc.

If people are away I can then use this rough idea to determine what they do each round. Of course if you post something different on your turn that's fine. But basically i won't chase during combat turns so if you don't/can't post i will use what you posted previously.

Similarly if every character has to make a save then I will roll for everyone, although will still ask for individual saves as required.

Ortensia is primarily the heaviest hitter but she is tactical, using her spells and abilities to max effectiveness. She knows she can take a hit and she can hit back hard enough if she can hit.
