FYI, work is still an enormous mess for me, I may need a few weeks to get back to posting. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Clebsch RoW |

I understand. Check in once a week, and give us updates if you can. I'll wait for word that people are ready to go. RL comes first.

Domitian Olavsgaard |

Hey folks, just wanted to say sorry for my continued absence. I'm hoping things will get better on the 26th or so.

Ingrit |

Might take me a bit to read through But I can do a recap in RP

Domitian Olavsgaard |

I'm getting back into it. Not picking up all my games at once, but will start monitoring this one again.

Clebsch RoW |

Glad to have Dom and Rurik posting. I hope all is well in RL for everyone. It's summer here in the northern hemisphere and I'm very glad of that.
Would everyone please post here or in the gameplay when ready to return to try to take the Shackled Dancing Hut. You know the lay of the land and no new threats appear, so you can start at the clearing just south of the hut.
The map is up, but I haven't placed any NPCs yet. I'll do that after stealth and perception checks. The ring just south of the hut was the reality siphon, but that has been destroyed, so the path is clear.

Ingrit |

Will post tonight. Also, make your purchases before we get started.

Erland Frey |

Sorry, I'm alive .
Been dealing with some family and work issues, but hopefully all is on the upwards trend.
I tried to see if we had a bunch of loot to use but I couldn't find the posts. Did we ever deal with the dragon hoard and rest of the tower treasure? I can't recall.

Clebsch RoW |

I'm on vacation until after 5th of July, so I have plenty of time if anyone has any requests. I'm ready to resume with the group is. Hope those who have vacation time enjoy good weather and good health.

Domitian Olavsgaard |

Sorry, really back now. On my end, ready to press on!

Rurik Voralius |

Doesn't look like there's much loot to distribute. I guess I'll just take a share of cash, and I don't think I'll be able to afford anything useful.

Clebsch RoW |

I'll be on a short vacation through midweek. Then we'll start the action to resolve the situation by the hut. You'll be meeting a nemesis of yours. Should be fun.

Erland Frey |

Erland can use the pearl of power 1st lvl, and will 'buy' the scroll of see invisibility from the party loots.
He'll also hold onto those potions of lesser restoration unless anyone wants to keep them themselves.

Ingrit |

That sounds good to me. The party benefits from gear being in the best hands for its use. Ingrit would want the cold iron and regular arrows. I already have an efficient quiver so if someone wants the second one it's all yours.

While I usually roll stealth and perception checks to determine who has surprise, why don't you all role play your approach to the clearing with the Dancing Hut and make a stealth check and a perception check? That will let me know when everyone is ready to go.
For extra suspense, make the rolls under a spoiler and don't look at the results.
Once everyone has rolled, I'll proceed.

Ingrit |

Bracers of Archery (lesser) availability: 1d100 ⇒ 52
Price 5,000 gp +1 competence bonus to attack rolls.

Clebsch RoW |

Dom and Ingrit have posted perception and stealth. Once I get the same from Rurik and Erland, we will resume gameplay.

Ingrit |

What's the blue ring on the map? That'll determine what I have Wapiti do.

Clebsch RoW |

The blue ring is just the former location of the reality siphon that was blocking entry to the area. Now, it's just a open area.

Sorry for the delay. My weekends are usually good for posting, but I'm nearing the end of a term with a large class so I had to grade as much as possible. This situation will continue through the end of this week. I'll try to keep things moving in spite of this.
Also, the icons are placed toward the bottom of the map but are not meant to indicate where people are at the start of melee. Move your icon to any point south of the blue ring to mark where your character was when scouting the location prior to the start of melee.

Domitian Olavsgaard |

Hi everyone, I'm sorry I've been absent and radio-silent. I've been feeling guilty about saying that I'd come back, only to not do so. It's not been fair to you all. I'm going to work on getting back into it!

Domitian Olavsgaard |

To save Ingrit the actions, Dom can spend his next turn "repositioning" Ingrit so she can fire away.

Clebsch RoW |

Technically that could work, but he's doing more than just placing her in a new square, so I'm going to say it will still be next turn before she will be ready to fire.

Rurik Voralius |

I have to go to the doctor today and there's a chance I'll wind up in surgery. If so, I may be out for a few days (assuming I survive, of course, there's always the tiny chance of something going wrong).

Ingrit |

Hope it's not as bad as it seems, and that if surgery is needed, everything goes smoothly.

Domitian Olavsgaard |

Wishing you the best and a swift recovery, Erland!

Domitian Olavsgaard |

Wishing you the best and a swift recovery, Erland!
D'oh! I said Erland instead of Rurik. Sorry!

Ingrit |

Now would be a great time for a fireball. Sigh

Clebsch RoW |

I'll 'bot Erland soon and advance to the next round when I get a chance while at work today.

Ingrit |

So it looks like we've lost our arcane caster just in time for the boss fight.

Clebsch RoW |

Erland is not lost. In fact, the main effect is his spells have lower DCs, but he can still cast all his spells. That's the advantage of having a Int of 20.

Domitian Olavsgaard |

I think ability damage doesn't cause spells to be lost, if I recall correctly.

Ingrit |

Yeah, just lower DC.

Clebsch RoW |

It would not cause a spell to be lost, but it could reduce the ability score necessary to cast spells below the minimum to cast spells of high level. If Erland's intelligence drops to 12, he will only be able to cast 1st or 2nd level spells.

Clebsch RoW |

Posted the enemy actions for round 6. A lot is going on, so read the post carefully and check my calculations and identify any oversights. There is a lot to keep track of now.
Keep in mind the sleet storm (and now the added ice storm) will create fog of war effects for everyone. Dom and Rurik, for example, won't know what's going on to the east of the hut and vice versa. In fact, only Dom and Ingrit know about the bats, although Rurik can hear the battle to get some clues.
This battle was a little slow to get rolling, since Nazhena has to try to use her spells to isolate enemies so everyone doesn't gang up on her, which would end the melee quickly.
Things are picking up, however, so please post promptly and then check back each day to see if the GM has made any ret-cons or requested any information or given players any options not considered.
I'll continue to 'bot Erland until his Player returns to posting. Hope all is well with psionichamster.
I'll be posting mostly in the afternoon or evening unless I can get something in while I'm having my early morning coffee. I'm teaching M-TH from 8 AM - 3 PM (EDT).
Hope everyone is enjoying Labor Day and this boss battle to end the 2nd book. We are very close, so let's push hard to end this battle and learn what will happen in the next book.

Clebsch RoW |

There is a little more to play through before we are officially into the next book. This would be a good time to recruit a new player or two if you want to beef up the party. It's possible we have lost Erland, but we maybe better wait a bit before replacing him.
Also, everyone will advance to level 7, so you can begin to work on that. There is a minor encounter or two to go yet that might involve dice rolls, so keep your profile at level 6 for now.
Book 3 takes place in Iobaria, which is in Golarian, east of Brevoy and roughly the same latitude as Irrisen. So it will be cold and wild with giants, centaurs, and demons among the opponents. The plot is basically a railroad following clues left behind by Baba Yaga to help her Three Riders locate her in case she did not return. The mantle of the Three Riders is upon the PCs, so they will have to figure out the clues and defeat the enemies that they encounter along the way.
The use of Russian folklore continues to be a feature of the third book. By the end of the 3rd book, PCs will be 10th level.

I'm down for re-recruitment. If we are going to do a recruitment, we should consider taking up to two players. A party of 6 is okay if Erland is still around, and doing a single recruitment for two players is both more efficient and allows for some interesting backgrounds. It's a good inflection point for recruitment because folks could either join with someone from Irrisen or from Iobaria.

Ingrit |

I'd also be okay with recruitment. In fact if Erland doesn't come back we're out a primary spellcaster which will really hurt. And yeah a party of 6 also has the usual benefit of enough players active at any one time to keep things moving.
At level 7 Wapiti becomes a real melee powerhouse, so looking forward to leveling.

Clebsch RoW |

I'll send psionichamster a PM to alert him to the situation. I'll open recruiting again. Please check on responses and weigh in on the responses.

Clebsch RoW |

Could I also get a pulse check on players remaining. How eager are you to continue this campaign. Seems we are regularly going days without any posts. Sometimes this is my fault, but often it will be a while before anyone posts after I advance things in gameplay. Are people just super busy, still dealing with COVID, people playing the new WOTR video game, or something else?
For myself, I'm looking forward to starting the new book. My work and home situation is stable and I have time to keep going.

Clebsch RoW |

I posted a recruitment for new PCs. Read the post here.
Please check new posts and give me your feedback, either here or in PM.

All of the above, plus regular life, and working on a few RPG projects, but definitely enthusiastic to continue.

Domitian Olavsgaard |

I've been busy with work so my pace isn't the same, but I definitely want to continue onward! Some new blood will help.
