"I believe that's what we agreed on."

Black Tom |

The door swings open, revealing an old library, mostly in ruins. The room is 30 feet square and filled with broken shelves and rotting books. There are no visible exits.
Sorry guys, I will need to take a break. I am leaving for New York today and will be back in a week. Game resumes next Sunday.

Black Tom |

In the library, Kaduk finds a number of intact books. They are of some small value and could probably be sold for around 50 gp, but they are rather bulky to carry. One that looks interesting is called Glarias's Pool and seems to describe the pool in the room.
Kaduk also finds a secret door on the left wall of the main room. A wall sconce causes part of the wall to pivot when pulled.

Gideon Davenport |

Welcome back!
Gideon rushes to the books. He is profoundly interested in the types of books that can be found in this place, because of both their inherent value and their relevance as to who may have been here last. He pages through Glarias's Pool first, while cataloging the others in his journal before putting them in his pack.

Avendryl Silvermoon |

"I don't suppose I have a problem with that, Gideon. Kaduk, I suspect we will find plenty of wealth within the delve, better to get information that could be of use to us as opposed to something to sell."

Kwin Avassar |

I understand your excitement about this find, truly I do. However, perhaps you should wait a day or so before making your ask. Perhaps some time to ponder will may you reconsider your choice of question. Not that I think the question is a poor one; quite the contrary. But I see little reason to rush.

Marius nods at Kwin, "I agree with Kwin. Better to wait and use such a treasure when we know what to ask. Shall we try the hidden door?"

And referenced here.

Black Tom |

Kaduk hears nothing through the door and sees no obvious traps, so he simply pushes it open.
I'll give you a hint what's behind it: Roll for initiatives! And if you can give me some idea of marching order, I'll get a map up tomorrow (which is in about 8 hours here).

Avendryl Silvermoon |

Initiative:1d20 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5

Black Tom |

Sorry about the delay. Crazy busy day.
A tattered and stained red carpet runs most of the length of this long hall. Moth-eaten tapestries of mounted knights and hilltop castles hang on the wall. At the far eastern end stands a large wooden throne surrounded by empty kegs and dirty wooden plates and mugs.
As you enter the room, you hear guttural laughs and shouts to your right. A surprisingly handsome orc is seated on the throne and surrounded with his goons: a bugbear, another orc and a savage Tharbrian.
As you enter he cries out in Orc:
They keep their hands on their weapons, but they are not attacking... yet. Their initiative is 20, so Kaduk still has the chance of sneak attacking, if that is what you want.

Kaduk Jaskar |

"Akur adarah mhautmu, Kaduk Jaskar!"
Kaduk shouts a challenge and closes in, great-axe aloft and savagely brings down the weapon on the nearest orc.
Move to M19
Standard Attack to N19 (O): 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (16) + 4 = 20
Damage 1d12 + 6 + 1d6 ⇒ (10) + 6 + (5) = 21 added SA

Black Tom |

Kaduk speaks the truth as he barges in with a blood-curling scream and chops down the orc in one mighty blow. Impressive. You actually struck him dead, not just unconscious.
The orc and bugbear retaliate but he manages to fend off their blows. The female barbarian tumbles past Kaduk and lets out a roar of fury.
Your turn (including Kaduk). Map updated above.

Kaduk Jaskar |

Where is that barbarian going off to?
Thrilled by the results of his dynamic entry, Kaduk becomes all too aware of being attacked by both sides. A series of agile movements sees Kaduk breaking off to engage the barbarian by the door. A leaping jump and an overhead chop tries to whittle the opponent to two.
"He just wants introductions, Marius." quips Kaduk as he passes by.
Move and Tumble to K18 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (12) + 6 = 18
Standard Attack to J18 (H)1d20 + 4 ⇒ (20) + 4 = 24
Damage 1d12 + 6 ⇒ (3) + 6 = 9
Critical Hit!
x3 Modifier
Confirm 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (19) + 4 = 23
Damage 2d12 + 12 ⇒ (4, 2) + 12 = 18

I apologize guys, I haven't been able to do much in the last week or two. We are gearing up for deployment early and I have had very little time off, even to check the boards much less respond. I think that this trend is going to get even worse, so I must regretably drop out. I was really looking forward to this game, too. Again, I'm sorry.

Black Tom |

OK, sorry to see you go, Janos, but these things happen. As for the rest of you, feel free to post. I normally don't really bother with your initiatives relative to each other (on the assumption that you are going to be working as a team anyway, but I feel it would be unfair to the rest of you to let Kaduk have all the fun, so if any of you wants to have a go at the barbarian I'll let him redirect his attack. I hope that is clear.
Janos wanders off into the sunset, leaving you to face the monsters alone.

Gideon Davenport |

Been waiting on the monsters, since they're listed ahead of me on the Initiative chart.
Knowledge: Local 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (6) + 7 = 13
Gideon runs through his mental library. He has never seen an orc up close, so he is shocked at their size. He stammers out, "Orcs are incredibly resilient! Do not let your guard down!"
Everyone gets +1 to attacks, AC, and saves vs. orcs. Round 2/5.

Kaduk Jaskar |

Kaduk looks around amidst the fighting. "Where's the cleric?" Noticing he's gone, Kaduk reminds himself to be more careful from now on. Seeing Marius rush pass to cover his flank brings a gush of relief for Kaduk.
If Marius is stepping up to the orc then great! M18, Marius?
Good luck on your deployment Janos.

Avendryl Silvermoon |

Avendryl moves into the room, expending another use of his Arcane pool and strikes at the bugbear.
Attack:1d20 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7
Damage:1d8 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7
Or not...
