Drogan, Dark Prince Incarnate |
Yes, let us hide and wait. We should use our surprise and focus on them. Tykk and myself will take the one on the right, Randu and Orodreth the one on the left. Lyrysa if you can provide any range support. Hopefully we will overwhelm them before they know what hits them.
Lyrysa Shadowhisper |
"It appears we have a plan"
So for a detailed outline, Tykk and then Drogan right, Orodreth and then Randu on left, all stealthed. Surprise round for attacks from stealth. Lyrysa will hide on the stairs, surprise round to stand up. If still up we start first round. Thoughts?
Big OM |
The escapees prepares to ambush the unsuspecting guards returning from the end of the battlements. However as they approach the tower Tykk moves a little to get into a better position unfortunately his weapon hits the stone wall and the sound echoes inside the tower in the silent night. The guards stops "What was that Boris?" one of them asks. Raising his lantern high and drawing his sword he closes in. "Be ready with the horn," he says as he cautiously approach the tower.
We are going in initiative order, no surprise action. One guard closes in on you while the other moves closely behind him horn drawn. Both have swords drawn.

Lyrysa Shadowhisper |
^ That should have been Round 1 up there, not 2. Typed too fast.
Randu |
Randu moves as quickly as he can to position himself so the one with the horn can be reached by the others even as he keeps the one with the sword busy, by killing him with blade thrust if he can.

Big OM |
Sorry I forgot to tell you that I were away for the weekend.
Even though the guards are aware they are helpless as you descend upon them. The guard in front first encounters Orodreth who pierces his right lung with his rapier. The only glimpse of hope is the guard with the horn who manages to resist the foul magic of Lyrysa. Randu adds yet another human trophy to his hunting record as his blow cut the throat of the front guard. Drogan charges past them and slams his mace into the skull of the second guard almost knocking him out. Tykk finishes the job and crushes the mans skull in. The noice however must have alerted someone as a horn signal pierces the night. It originates from the top of the gatehouse.
Same loot as before, 80 xp each
Resisting Daze: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (16) - 1 = 15
Perception: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (10) + 2 = 12
Orodreth Míriel |
"Cmon. We don't have time to go back. Follow me." Orodreth sheaths his sword and runs over to the gatehouse wall. He pulls the veil out of his stolen guard coat pocket. "Ah here you are." Finding the right patch he rips it off and places it against the wall. A window grows from the patch and creates a hole in the wall. As soon as it stops growing he throws his pack through and dives into the hole, rolling to come up standing with his rapier ready again in case the room is inhabited.
Acrobatics: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (14) + 6 = 20
Perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (6) + 6 = 12
that should put me in 3d. Blackerly hopefully still stuck below us. Sentries on the roof.
Big OM |
Smart thinking Orodreth.
As expected a window forms in the wall and Orodreth makes it through. Above you can here the uttering of a surprised guard as he is suddenly gone.
Looking around you find yourself in a large room, it is the entire floor. In front of you are are stairs leading to the roof and floor below. You hear some commotion from the closest stairs, they are from the room where Blackerley should be.
Tykk Raleon |
"Damnation. I guess we see to Blackerly then."
Tykk rushes through the hole and prepares to fight the upcoming Seargent. Using his trained senses, he attempts to feel out Blackerly's aura to ensure he can shatter his defenses.
Drogan, Dark Prince Incarnate |
@ Big OM, so this is a gatehouse and we are in the levein in the middle. What is between us and the 4 down a level? A trapdoor? Is there a way to lock or barricade them down there? If so Drogan will lock the door.
Assuming there is a lock...
Drogan moves to lock the trap door to the room the 4 men below are in.
We deal with them in a moment. We have the two on top that blew the signal. We need to take them out. Maybe the wizard didn't here the signal and I would like if they didn't open the doors above us and start firing arrows at us.
Drogan them gives a blessing of Asmodeous and cast Bless on everyone.

Initiative: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (1) + 6 = 7
Tykk Raleon |
Stalking toward the guard with the determination of a cat on a cornered mouse, Tykk hesitates for a second 10 feet from the guard.
"Looks like this is the end for you."
Mid-step, Tykk changes speed and charges directly at the startled guard.
Attack: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (13) + 6 = 19
Damage: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8
Sidestepping the guard's shield, Tykk brings his morningstar up under his exposed chin, attempting to take his head clean off.

Big OM |
Lyrysa's magic crawls towards the guard and takes hold of him dazing him. The poor dazed man is almost immediately after smashed by Tykk. Unfortunately Randu isn't quite as precise as Tykk and misses. Almost soundless Orodreth comes up the stairs behind the guard.
While the rest rushes to the roof Drogan turn his attention towards the trapdoor. He hears shouting from below and soon after a pounding sound is heard.
