Warden in the kitchen. I bet they never saw that one coming. :p
Remember he never leaves his tower? And his name is Richter I think. From the first post.
And overheard from the guards.
“Almost three and since then the place has been straight down the s!%@ter. That old wizard never leaves his tower. He stays up there reading his books and petting his owl!”
“Petting his owl? Is that what they call it these days?”

The most important bit of information here is this. The guard lied. Even if it was a lie by omission, it was still a lie. Either the statement made by the guards was an over exaggeration, or the guard omitted certain individuals inside the prison. Plus we know his name is Warden Richter, but his full name could have been Gregor Richter, we don't know for sure yet. Well, we know this isn't the warden. Omissions like that can get us killed, even a servant can raise the alarm.
Now we have to do the important thing and punish the guard for it, and ensure there are no other surprises. Not necessarily kill him, but at least make an impression.
At least my opinion on the subject. Open to suggestions of course.

Sorry if I am posting too much and getting further ahead 'timewise' than everone else. My searching and acquiring probably has taken at least 10 mins so far. Perhaps if/when grumblejack breaks down the door is a good time to have everyone else catch up so to speak. As in I will wait for everyone to get back to me before posting further? Or I could just go through blackerly's room and then wait for you guys.
Let me know, sometimes i over analyze, but i like to keep timelines flowing and as consistent as possible. Not have someone doing an hours worth of work when others have done ten minutes because of a fight, if you know what i mean.

Well, you could remove his tongue, or a finger. Gruesome, but I can see lawful evil types doing it as a 'compromise'.
Right now, Randu is hoping for some information from the servants. And, if need be, he's wondering using the girl as a hostage is doable, though he's not big on that one.

We specifically asked ablut guards. He didn't lie.
Touche. You are correct on that. Sorry if I seemed a little too eager on that one.

I'm good with the speed of posting. I get a little behind on the weekend due to table top games and going out of town and what not. I say we meet up with you at the Sergents room and then you search it and then we make a plan.

Here's the loot spreadsheet I was talking about.
I'll try to get some edits into it for stuff we've looted thus far. If you all want to use it, let me know. Feel free to ask any questions.
Lyrysa Shadowhisper
I believe I added what we found while searching now. If I missed something or someone took something that's not added, anyone can edit it so feel free to do so.
Also I just added everything for now, we'll have to figure out what we're taking and what we're leaving still.
Lyrysa Shadowhisper
Also ready to move on.
On the topic of equipment, was there anything else in the armory besides what I listed on the loot spreadsheet? I added it so clicking on the status bar under my name is linked to it.
Not that we're taking all of it by far, just having stuff in one place to refer to for now for outfitting.

We want to go out the back door, climb a tower up to the walls, take out guards stealthily that are up on the walls on the way to the gatehouse. Then drop in and say hi to blackerly and give him an ogre sized surprise.

A quick note. Between May 13th to May 17th I'll be attending a leadership conference (fun, fun!) during which I will probably have limited posting time. If I'm holding anything up those dates, please feel free to bot me.
Randu
Just to let you know: For the next week, I'll be away in another part of the state, I should have internet connection but my posting maybe slower. If you need to NPC me for a bit due to slowness, feel free, but hopefully that won't be necessary.

Ok. Major frustration here. Charter lost our connection completely last night. Now they tell us it is 'back up'. Back up apparently means it times out 3 out of every four tries. Suffice to say I'm not sure I'll be able to do much posting today.
Big OM
I am not sure what Charter is but I am guessing your ISP. No problem let me know when it is back up until then we might gmpc you as needed, if you are okay with that.
This might be a good time to discus how we should handle gmpc'ing. Personally I like when another players controls the pc instead of the gm. First reason less work for me :D Second reason as players you have a better understanding of the encounter from your perspective, put simply I have peaked behind the curtain and know to much.

About to head out to regional dinner, so fast post. I'm fine with whomever taking control for the next few days. Lyrysa's advice would be head to Wizards tower and take Hostage. Either he'll be so powerful he'll subdue us during the fight with the guards anyway, or best option for a hostage as the Warden.
This suggestion made on a hungry stomache after a long day of meetings, so please be advised suggestions may not make coherent sense.

Based on gameplay, how does this sound for plan from mechanical viewpoint?
We go to Warden's building. We have Grumblejack go in while a stealthy character (probably Orodreth or Randu?) wait nearby to watch. We designate this character the watcher. We tell the ogre to find the warden and crush him while the watcher follows behind, with us following the watcher. I'll keep a Message spell between him and me for us to communicate.
So it'll be Grumblejack, followed by the watcher, with us about a round of movement away to move in.
Thoughts?

There's a lot of variables with that, and fireball isn't our only threat.
Suppose fourth level. Burning hands would do 4d4, or average 10 points of damage. Odds are that drops all of us but Randu and Grumblejack.
Color Spray would stand a good chance of disabling several of us, and that only requires level 1.
Glitterdust. Hateful spell for us all to be blind.
Summon a web then use the conjurer ability to teleport away if 3rd level.
And that's not even assuming he's not a sorcerer or witch. What do we really know at this point?
Now that doesn't mean I think the mass charge is a bad idea. It just means that if we don't take him down, we're bunched up real nice for him. Anyone else's opinions on the subject?
