sigh - not as soon as I hoped - tonight I hope to post an in game update. And the next time someone asks me to resurface a deck, I'm just going to throw dice at the person until they leave

Okay, so here I am with my first full day off trying to explain my absence. Basically, the company I worked for was dissolved, and we merged into a larger company owned by the mega corporation Fluor. All of June was a nightmare, and July we began revising our procedures and finally got new org charts. I am still, sort of, doing the same job, but my immediate manager, well he got a new boss and he really doesn’t like his new boss and I think he is taking out his frustrations on us. We’ve been having stupid long meetings every day. Three employees were fired for time card fraud (which is sort of the catch all excuse for firing people who work on government projects). I know I shouldn’t post from work, but I often do during the week, but with all the changes and scrutiny I was being very cautious. Things are still pretty chaotic at work, but I think things will settle down by the end of July.

On top of that we had a new granddaughter born at the end of June, baby was fine, but mom had a small set back from the c-section she had, and my wife and I were spending a lot of time helping our son and his little family.

I know that’s a lot of silly personal real life stuff to put on the forum but I wanted everyone to know where I’ve been. I have this whole day to try to get all my games caught up and I know some of you have been waiting a very long time. I hope you can find interest in the games again and come back to play when you can.

After I leave for work on August 3rd until August 7th in the evening my posting will be limited to non-existent due to gencon indy. Whether I get anything posted after I get back on the 7th or not I don't know. Bot me as needed during that time.

If anyone will be going and wants to meet up let me know and we'll try and work something out.

I will be camping again, with offline time starting this friday. I can start posting again Aug 8th.

Seems like a few of us are having a busy summer.

I'm here. But I might be a little hit and miss...three birthdays, one funeral and the first anniversary of my brother's death within 10 days is a touch rough.

Thanks for checking in. Good luck Azariah, and Kleora, please try to let us know what your experience is like at the con. I've never been to one of the big game cons and I've always wanted to go, but just never put forth the effort to make it a priority. Now, onto the bad news.

Here is an update for every one of my wonderful patient players

I have not been able to do updates during the week from the computer I normally use due to the recent changes in my employment (working under a new contractor). I won’t go into details, because the truth is I allowed myself to get spoiled by the previous contractor’s more or less indifference to how much time we spent messing around on the internet (as long as we got our work done, they didn’t seem to care much). The new boss is watching us, and has installed something called iPrism, to track our online activity.

What this means, first I am not shutting down any games. I love the games here, and I have great players. What it does mean is that I will try to do more updates on week nights and on the weekends, but it also means that my already slow games will probably get slower.

If any of you find this is something you just don’t have time for and want to drop out I will not hold that against you. I understand that players want to spend their time doing something that they feel is worth their effort, so I will do my best to give you the best game I can, but understand it might be slower than it has been in the past.

I actually go to Gencon every year, only missed one or two since it came to Indianapolis. It helps that it's about forty five minutes away from where I live it. I always have a good time though I don't always get away from the main game I play there very much. There's always a lot to see and I strongly recommend going one of these days.

I went to the MCM Expo in London, and due to having to walk with a cane, got in early. It was...interesting, listening to J.G Hertzler and Robert O'Reiley, better known as Martok and Gowron from Star Trek, shout about hammering each other across the booths.

I'm not going anywhere, either.

I used to go to GenCon back in the 80's when it was in Milwaukee. Haven't been to one in 25 years though. Back in the day, it was one of the only ways to get new info about games or to buy stuff. Now its all online and information is easy to get about products and updates thanks to the internet. There are other cool things about the conventions, speakers, meeting people, play testing stuff of course.

Got my first set of stitches out today and the lab report says the cancer was fully excised so I am going to have a great recovery. I hope to be updating games tomorrow. I've been a little weak, and work is still a bit rough, but I have no intention of quitting my games, so

I've still not heard from Movin (Ritmush) and I worry about his well being. He is a rather regular poster so this is a bit unusual for him

Cancer sucks, and it's good to hear you're getting better.Are you going to need chemo/radiotherapy too?

No further treatment, see what they removed turned out to be a moderate to severe dysplastic nevus with melanoma cells, BUT it was completely excised, so no cancer cells had spread outside the site, and the doctor tells me there is only a 3 to 5 percent chance of the cancer coming back, so for now, I'm all good. I just need to keep an eye on any new suspicious moles.

Oh, and wear sunscreen

No seriously, I don't care what the new trends are, wear sunscreen, and a hat, and watch for suspicious moles.

Oh and my stitches itch like crazy, and my family is really fusing over me, so no game updates yet

I apologize to everyone. I got dragged off by my family for a surprise trip this week and haven't had one free moment since last Friday. I will be back this weekend.

I feel so proud, and rewarded, that the players in this game have stuck though this slow period. Thank you all so much, it means a lot to me right now (wish me luck, a doctor visit with a new specialist is coming up on Wednesday, I am positive about what we expect to talk about and I wont say any more about it)

I know it has been long and slow, but about now I would expect the characters to have a plan to move on.

It might help if we knew what items they had to look through if we're going to be making plans on what to do next.
