As for concerns about movement and breathing. I took Rope Trick and even ask James Jacobs about it.
Emanonpf wrote:Rope Trick, does it work underwater? If it does, does the extradimensional space provide enough air for the entire duration? It does. I'd say that the extradimensional space in this case does one of 2 things...
1) It's created filled with water, or...
2) It has enough air for the duration, since it has enough air for the duration when you cast it outside of the water. (AKA: If water can't rush into the hole, air probably shouldn't leak into the hole either, and therefore the space created should be self-contained.)
Also I wanted to take Touch of the Sea and Water Breathing but figured it would be meta gaming. I will take them later though once it feel more appropriate.
Edit: Its kinda odd isn't it. I assumed that maybe Rope Trick wouldn't work or might run out of air. It seems to me what James is saying is that it works fine, but the extradimensional space created might be suitable for an aquatic wizard. I guess I am racist against those mermaid wizards >.>

I mentioned previously that I want nothing able to remove the challenge of aquatic environments. Your characters have no idea they are going underwater.
My character was born on a ship and raised by pirates, and for that I gave him a pretty nice Swim check. I admit that I chose the halberd because I didn't want to suck at underwater combat, but it's also a nice weapon and to be honest I'll probably pick up a slashing and bludgeoning weapon as well to deal with DR anyway.
If anything about my character build is objectionable, please let me know.

Yeah, Rope Trick I love as a spell and would take regardless. I am just hoping you go with option 2 and have it work undersea so I have a safe place to prepare spells and sleep. :) But it is alright if you don't

I don't want to ruin these options later on though. As I said, these kinds of options will become available as soon as 6-7th level.

Yeah that is cool. I was planning on taking it 6-7 anyway. Strangely enough my dinosaur has swim, I didn't notice till my friend pointed it out. I found a picture online of what he looks like.

Tuillen Aelethsyl Conditions: Will just need to discuss some of the item creations you have made, in terms of spells needed to create wondrous items. Nevertheless, you've taken the feat and thus are entitled to crafting.
Nathaniel Conditions: Just update your alias with your character so I can access it online. Make it easier to have everyone's character sheets open.
Zissren Daggermaw: Condition: As a monstrous race we'll see how it goes. If I see it's too powerful we'll discuss it.
Astor Condition: You've been accepted but please create an Alias as per requested.
Each of you is missing the completed character, which will be required by 11:00 (GMT -05:00).

Cheers to those who have already been accepted and to those with conditions, please meet them if needed, or consider how you are going to play your character.
I'd love to have everyone in the game, even if it breaks my 6 players as I know dropouts happen and a large group handles things better.
Ol' Jack Rummer |
I'm withdrawing my interest. I apologize, but I really have no interest in spending my time dealing with players who are overly antagonistic.Good luck with your group! I mean that. :)
Sorry to hear that Falashir. If you're still interested in joining new games check the Recruitment soon. I should have my Experience Project up sooner or later.

Certainly. Do allow me to point out that the DCs for each item were set out in the character profile and were raised to account for not having the required spells (+5 for each spell).

Sorry mate, was not my intent.
@OJR If Falashir wants to play I'm happy to dip out so that he can participate. Currently I am in 5 pbp's so it's ok, since I see that he is not currently in any.

Currently he has bowed out and you have not, you therefore retain priority. Please do not drop out for someone else's sake. It is up to them.

All right, I'm off to a friends house, who is apparenlty experiencing power outages from the weather. I'm not sure I'll have an alias up by 11, but if not then it won't be long after that.
Thanks for the heads up, I'll give you until 00:00 then. I don't normal go to sleep until 03:00 anyways.

7 is only one more than 6 so this works out nicely.
I apologize to those who did not meet requirements but had good ideas nonetheless as well as to those who dropped out or did not reply. We begin in 24 hours, giving you time to equip and arm yourselves.
Letting you all know that the adventure begins right in the midst of combat so be prepared.

Astor Zasz |
I'll be back later after I've finished picking out equipment, but I thought I would mention that I'm looking forward to starting.
I also thought it was worth mentioning, that Astor is not a medic. His points in the Heal skill represent his rudimentary, and mostly self taught, knowledge of anatomy. After all, sometimes in completing your mission, you have to 'talk' to people, and sometimes people need proper 'motivation' to share their knowledge.
I say that to mention that if we ever find ourselves with a captive that we need to know something from, Astor will gladly volunteer his skill with honeyed words to help persuade the captive to tell what he knows.
FiddlersGreen |
He sees something that looks a little like this but far more charming :)
So Nathaniel walks around perpetually fused? And the eidolon is a bipedal alien-like creature with wings?
FiddlersGreen |
No wings- flight is magical. And the fusion is dismissable. Once I get a Hat of Disguise it becomes much less a problem.
UM seems to describe the eidolon as a translucent being. Is your's an exception, or can Tuillen see the half-elf within the fused entity?
Could I interest you in writing a description of Nathaniel? A picture paints a thousand words and all, but a thousand words about a face doesn't tell me much about the rest of him. =)
FiddlersGreen |
UM does describe it as translucent but for the first few months I played a synthesist I misread it as opaque, and I have just continued it as that.
I find it quite tricky to write a description i'll admit; need to juxtapose tall, armored and blue with a 20+ Charisma. But i'll see what I can do :)
Sounds good. XD Meanwhile, I've found Nava's character sheet. No backstory yet, though. =( Guess I'll with the fact that he's a grippli sorcerer with levitate and a prehensile tongue.
Tuillen Aelethsyl |
Oh. Kay. When I first saw him...or her...I'm not sure...it, I thought that the barkeep must have been slipping something strange in my drink, or that I had severely over-estimated my capacity to hold my ale...
But there's no denying it now. 'Cos I've not had a drop all day, and I'm sure I really did just see a giant...frog...walking upright, on the ship. And more than that...he didn't just walk up the gangplank...he rose up through the air, vertically, till he was level with the gunwale, then flicked his tongue out to grab the rails and used it hoist himself onto the deck!
I'll say one thing. This expedition hasn't even launched proper, and I'm already seeing some incredible things! I'm getting a really good feeling about this voyage!
