Backstory

Drake was born at sea. His mother was on the maiden voyage of the legendary pirate ship, The Treasure Trove. Because he spent the full first year of his life at sea, never once leaving the ship for any reason, Drake has never been seasick once in his life. In fact, he often feels a little uneasy when he is on land, but that's a different story.

Drake's father, the captain of The Treasure Trove and all of its bloodthirsty crew, raised Drake to be a skilled warrior. However, Drake's innate sense of decency told him that the path his father had chosen was not right, and that nothing good could come of constantly robbing others and using that money to support yourself.

Drake wanted to become an honest, working man. So he abandoned The Treasure Trove in the middle of the night, stealing some of his father's loot and rowing in the life boat to the port town of Louise, where he gave the money his father had stolen back to its people, and then traveled far from the coast, far away where his father wouldn't find him.

Drake settled down in a nice place called Magnolia and began to work as a city guard. He got used to wearing heavy armor and wielding a Halberd, instead of the light leather and cutlass he had been trained with at sea. Still, though Drake made a decent, honest living, just like he wanted, he always felt the call of the waves. Eventually, when Drake was 28, he abandoned the city he had grown to love, and moved to Louise so he could be closer to the ocean. Finally, Drake gave up and joined a merchant ship as a bodyguard. He wanted to get back on the ocean.

Now he serves on different merchant vessels, protecting the ships from pirates and sea monsters. But still, Drake looks out on the waves every day, searching for the flag that his father flies, waiting for his father to come get revenge for his son's betrayal.
