Well the party rolled pretty poorly on initiative. The order is as follows.
Initiative Order
Brian 18
Greg 16
ZG2 15
Yael 14
ZG1 13
Richard 10*
ZG3 10
Marcus 9*
Edwin 9
Geoffrey 8
JoJo 6
Schmitty 3
* Dex mod tie breaker applied.
I will be staying late at work today to make the first post for Brian through Yael. In the meantime if you want to take a look at the combat map the link is up at the top of the page. Two of the party are still nauseated for 2 more rounds. This is the most amount of sickos you have yet to encounter. You are definitely aware that there are score more sickos within a few hundred yards. But the Civic Center door is only about 200 feet away. Do you run or fight? Flight or fight? Every person for themselves or herd mentality?

Posting in Progress please hold responses until finished
Brian had an arm around JoJo pushing his friend forward as he gagged and coughed. When Brian saw the eyes of the sickos in front turn red he let out a frustrated Awww. Hell No!. and quickly bent down and threw JoJo over his shoulder and took off running towards the Civic Center. He managed to lumber 45 feet forward towards the building.
Greg looks up from being bent over with a completely nauseated stomach and manages to say Here Schmitty take my shotgun I can aim right now before stumbling forward a few feet gagging all the while.
Schmitty looks down at the shotgun he just got handed and then back up at the group of sickos the ones in front were charging at the group.
Two of the diseased make attempts to grab Yael but both miss. Yael breaks away from the two and moves off towards the West. She hopes her tactic of splitting off from the group causes some of the sickos to follow her and not the rest of the group especially the ones still sickened by the horrors of this new world.
The next closest sickos charge at the group of survivors but besides a single sicko missing on an attempt to grab Edwin the survivors have a chance to react before the second group can reach them.
YaelAoO: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6 miss
Sicko1aChargeGrab: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (10) + 4 = 14 miss
Sicko1bChargeGrab: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (1) + 5 = 6 miss
Sicko1cChargeGrab: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (8) + 5 = 13 Could be overruled by Edwin AoO
Sicko2aChargeGrab: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (3) + 5 = 8miss
Sicko1cOpposedGrapple: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (13) + 3 = 16 To Hold Edwin
I need an AoO from Edwin against the Sicko attempting to grab ahold of the old man. And then if it fails I need an opposed Grapple Check.
Note: All Sickos in Group1 and Sicko 2A have -2 AC. JoJo is limited to a single move action of 30' for the next two rounds. You can tell Brian to put you down for a free action.
Richard is up. To let you all post I drew in what path the last group of Sickos would take on initiative 10. You can draw line of fire to the square where the green line ends. You can even move the icons and delete the green lines after Richard's move.

RocksAhead |

[dice=Damage]1d6+2
[dice=Breakage]1d100
Nice damage. Sicko is still up but you banged it around pretty good. This was your AoO. You still have your normal actions coming up soon. Also Oar didn't break so that's a good thing. For the record it is always cool to roll the damage with an attack just in case it hits we can ignore it if it misses. Just like I rolled my opposed Grapple check already and now it is ignored.
Richard is still up. But everyone of you can post actions just if you're not Richard use the square at the end of the green line on the map. Which brings me to ask is the map accessible. You may want to zoom as it is a pretty large map here.

Edwin's blow knocks the zombie to the ground as it lands squarely on its temple. The oar of death holds true to form as the old man squares up.
Edwin would also have a move action which he can use to take a 5' step away from the other zombie next to him or he can choose to risk an Attack of Opportunity to move 30'away. Also yet to act this round are Marcus, JoJo, and Geoffrey. In any order make a post. Not sure if JoJo's post means that he is content to stay over Brian's shoulder or not.

RocksAhead |

Geoffrey continues to stagger away, looking for shelter from the mob.
Assuming double move. Or are you using the Run action? 60' by simply doing a double move or 120' in straight line from using the Run action. Or 30' move and total defense so +4 AC. Do you want to move your icon or should I?

Marcus Magnum |

Marcus shoots the zombie to is diagonal left, then moves down the Civic Center's drive way to 5' from Jojo's right. As he moves back, he watches and waits for people to shoot or makes sure they are aware he is crossing their path so Marcus does not get shot while moving back. In addition, he is aware of his own firearm safety.
Attack1: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (18) + 5 = 23
Damage1: 2d6 ⇒ (6, 6) = 12
"There's too many of them, don't fight them in hand to hand combat! Hit them and then move away towards the Civic Center for now."
(I will adjust my movement tonight, -1 shot)

RocksAhead |

Schmitty looks down at the shotgun that Greg handed him. It had been a long time since he fired any weapon. He was so close to the poor sickos right now he couldn't possible miss could he.
He lifted the shotgun and pulled the trigger.
Aiming at the Z 10' to diagonal left.
Attack: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (8) + 2 = 10
Damage: 2d8 ⇒ (8, 4) = 12
Schmitty let out a yelp as the gun went off and then surprise over came his face as he saw his target head get pulverized by the shutgun shell. The sicko dropped to the ground as Schmitty turned and ran 30' feet towards the civic center.
END OF ROUND 1.
Round 2 will start once I get a response from Edwin on what he wants to do with his move action 5' step or 30' standard move with Attack of Opportunity. Also Geoffrey said he was going to move towards the Civic Center so not sure if this is double move or run action or move with total defense or what specific actions he wanted to take doing the move. So Edwin and Geoffrey please move your tokens when you can. And we will start round 2. JoJo and Greg still are nauseated for round 2.

RocksAhead |

Edwin will book it, hoping to dodge whatever attack the zom dishes out. He will use next round to also distance himself.
Attack: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (13) + 2 = 15
Damage: 1d4 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6As Edwin turns his back on the sicko to make a break for the civic center the dead woman rakes his back with elongated fingernails. It felt like being mauled by a bear as his shirt was ripped through and the flesh from his back was torn away. Bright red streaks were quickly visible where the zombie claw had formed deep gouges in the skin.
Edwin bit down hard on the pain and moved his feet with determination.
Real End of Round 1

RocksAhead |

Double move. Run just seems like a recipe for a zombie to duck out of somewhere, and poleaxe me.
Geoffrey keeps hustling.
I think Geoffrey made his movement for Round 1 and Round 2. Unfortunately we need to move him back a few squares as both groups of zombies would have a chance to act before his Round 2 move. In a double move you should be able to move 12 squares. So I think Geoffrey needs to move 12 squares back from where he currently is placed. I marked with a yellow square where I believe Geoffrey was at the start of round 1. He should be placed 12 squares from that spot.

ChargeGrab2b: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (11) + 5 = 16 requires an AoO from Edwin

ChargeGrab3c: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (12) + 5 = 17
OpposedGrap3c: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (10) + 5 = 15
OpposedGrapYael: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (15) + 1 = 16 Grab but failed to hold.
Brian carried JoJo another 45 feet away from the snarling dead behind them. Greg lumbered forward with a final retch he shook his head as he finally felt his stomach return to normal. The zombies lurched and then broke into a run for the survivors. Yael managed to defend herself admirable by striking the first zombie to reach her with the butt of her pistol before calmly putting two rounds into its face. She managed to break away from a second zombie who managed to grab her momentarily. Edwin was in trouble a zombie had reached out for him to grab a hold and he was quickly surrounded by other zombies as well.
I need Edwin to roll an AoO to prevent the grab attack against him. If it fails less than 10 right now than I need him to make an opposed grapple check. 1d20+Str+BAB to avoid being held. Also Edwin took 6 points of damage last round from the AoO from moving away. He also faces alot of AoO if he moves away this round. Might want to consider Withdraw action if he wants to move away with out fighting.
Round 2 Initiative Order
Brian 18
Greg 16
ZG2 15
Yael 14
Richard 10*
ZG3 10
Marcus 9*
Edwin 9
Geoffrey 8
JoJo 6
Schmitty 3
In other words go ahead and post your actions in any order now. Doubt I will be able to post again today though.

Marcus Magnum |

Marcus moves closer to the Civic Center and looks around to make sure they are not being accidentally herded into another group of sickos.
Spot: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6
Too distracted by the pursuing sickos, nothing catches his eye. He looks at the good doctor, "HEY DOC, BE CAUTIOUS!"

RocksAhead |

Edwin gets to move a total of 12 squares away as part of his withdraw action. Since he will move first Schmitty won't be firing into melee.
Schmitty raised up the guides shotgun to try and repeat his previous shot.
Shaking a bit he pulled the trigger as he aimed at the nearest zombie.
Attack: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (7) + 2 = 9

...... It had been 3 days since the morning of the Canterbury betrayal. Things had gone from a horrible mystery to a confirmed nightmare. The dead were indeed walking around again as in every zombie trope every. The tour group of outdoor enthusiasts have dwindled down. Edwin was the first to go as he was surrounded by the Zombies outside the Civic center that first morning. Yael was last seen that same morning she fired several shots into the group tearing into Edwin before she was seen running off in the opposite direction. She hasn't been seen since. The Civic center door was locked but wasted no time in trying to pick and kicked the glass portion in and reached in and opened it from inside. The group managed to make it in and close the door behind them. But with the shattered glass in the door allowing Edwin's screams to still reach them there was very little relief.
A quick search around the building revealed that it had been heavily scavenged already. There was several shattered food vending machines that had the glass broken and the items raided. The group did manage to find that the water was still running in the bathrooms. Geoffrey and Marcus warned the others to not trust the water supply until it was revealed what made everyone sick but the college boys were thirsty and laughed off the old survivalist and medical quack. The three of them fell ill that night with some kind of fever. Richard was looking at Schmitty when he switched over. The red headed college boy tore into the doctor's throat with a geyser of blood. As everyone's attention was on the dead doctor and dispatching the deceased but mobile Schmitty, JoJo and Brian switched over as well finally succumbing to the illness of the contaminated water. Greg, Marcus and Richard ran from the Civic Center all the way to Backwoods Office and that is where the three of them have been holed up for the past two days. The office was locked when they arrived which was a good sign. The limited number of bottles of water at the office were running low. They did have an unlimited number of canoe paddles though.
Ok here goes for the reboot attempt. Let me know how the two of you have passed the last two days. The Backwoods office is a small office building/warehouse of camping and canoeing supplies. The front half is a reception desk and storefront selling some outdoors type stuff. The back half is a warehouse/workshop. They repair canoes in the back and store about 50 canoes and 100 paddles life vests. If there's anything in particular you are thinking you might want to search for let me know what it is and based on the item I'll set a search DC. For now consider this place lightly scavenged meaning that only employees went through here probably the night/weekend of the start of Z plague.

Richard Sauerbruch |

Looking pale and haggard after those horrible days Richard still kept his determination high. Looking through the canoe paddles Richard looked for tools, any kind of tools, glue and maybe, hidden behind some documents alcohol or medical drugs, like asprin or tylanol. Also any kind of batteries or other emergancy equipment.

Marcus Magnum |

First order of business, Marcus goes through the building kindly asking Richard and Greg to help him with the tasks he sets out to do. He talks quietly as they make survival improvements by securing the doors and windows, "We can not stay in here long because of the lack of food but we can make this a place to recollect our thoughts until we move out or find something better?" Next, Marcus uses his axe to make a hole in the roof for a quick get away, then covers it up to keep the elements out and places whatever object near the hole to easy climb out through the hole but the undead will have a hard time using it. Marcus then collects all of the empty bottles and containers he can find, cleans them out the best he can and with soap if possible. Then he runs tap water through his 13,000 gallon Katadyn Pocket (portable) water filter to clean out the toxins filling up all the clean empty bottles with clean water. While filling up the bottles, Marcus quietly states, "Although hunger is quite uncomfortable, a human can not live longer than 3 days average without water. Of course, the environment and the person's activity can change those 3 days to as little as 1 day or up to 10 days. While the average days a human can go without food is 30 days. Again, this is affected by the environment and the person's activity. Believe or not, you burn more calories while cold than hot as your body tries to keep you alive in the cold. After filling the bottles of water, Marcus collects all remaining paddles, "Maybe we can make longer stabbing spears and javelins out of these remaining paddles to conserve ammo but still give us distance while discussing our next steps especially gathering food?"
Craft Structural: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (2) + 6 = 8
(Sigh, plus any aid from Greg and Rich)
Survival: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (11) + 8 = 19
Did we collect anything from the fallen? Do we need to make adjustments to our character sheets?

RocksAhead |

Richard looked for tools, any kind of tools, glue and maybe, hidden behind some documents alcohol or medical drugs, like asprin or tylanol. Also any kind of batteries or other emergancy equipment.
Roll a search check and based on the result I will tell you what you found of the above. My bad should have requested this from the start.
Then he runs tap water through his 13,000 gallon Katadyn Pocket (portable) water filter to clean out the toxins.
I don't see this listed on your equipment on your character sheet. I'll need to see a post where you claimed taking this earlier than now. Otherwise I don't believe you have one. You can't claim to have gear once a unforeseen problem arising. You are not Batman. There is no snake venom antidote tablet in your utility belt unless you stated it was there before the snakes appear. Greg has some water purification tablets but doesn't think they well effectively remove whatever got through the public water filtration system.
Did we collect anything from the fallen? Do we need to make adjustments to our character sheets?
You did not have time to grab anything off the fallen as the three of you ran out when JoJo and Brian turned. You could always make a trip back there to find what supplies remain. There would be at least the 4 zombies to consider and maybe more. But Geoffrey had a gun and ammo.
"Maybe we can make longer stabbing spears and javelins out of these remaining paddles to conserve ammo but still give us distance while discussing our next steps especially gathering food?"
Marcus notices several tools in the shop that might be useful in converting some paddles into javelins. The paddles are a sturdy fiberglass based plastic. The shop has an electrical grinder and sander. Problem is electrical service seems to be extremely shoddy and unreliable. The electrical grids only source is currently wind and solar power plants as the coal plants have no one running them and the nuclear plants basically went into emergency shutdown. Greg shares that the Backwoods office does have a gas powered generator and there is enough gasoline for about 24 hours of medium electrical (~4kW) output.
CraftStructuralAid: 1d20 - 5 ⇒ (15) - 5 = 10 Not trained in this so can only aid and applying a -4 modifier for not having tools. With Greg's help Marcus cuts into a 3' diameter hole in the ceiling and the two secure a rope ladder to the ceiling and hang it down through the hole. It takes one 2 rounds to climb or 1 round with a Climb DC 10. Failure means 2 rounds can't take 10. They cover the hole with a blue tarp from the warehouse and secure the tarp with a square of paddles duct taped together. When climbing out one simply pushes the paddle square off the tarp to one side.
Water: Unless Marcus can show a prior post where claiming the water filter there is a serious water shortage. You currently have about 6 liters of bottled water remaining.
Food: Currently none but maybe Roger found some on his search of Backwoods.
Weapons: What you started the game with. Also if you had anything stored in your vehicle you can access it now it is parked outside.
Marcus suggested sharpening some paddles into javelins. This would function as Javelins per RAW modified based on the craft mechanical check.
Exceed 15 as RAW
Exceed 10 as RAW except Damage = 1d4.
Less than 10 as RAW except Range = 10' and Damage 1d4.
Takes 1 hour to sharpen one paddle using the power tools or 8 hours using hand tools. Using power tools provides +2 to check.
Fuel: What remains in your gas tank if you had a vehicle and about 5 gallons for the generator.
Survivors: 3
Morale: SNAFU - No modifiers
Location: Backwoods office

Marcus Magnum |

As Marcus searches his pack for the water purifier, he contains himself into a stressed but quiet voice, "CRAP! The water purifier must have fallen out?! If that is the case, our water situation is dismal. Anyone find a water purifier during their search or perhaps materials we can use to make a filter? How about the factory floor, is it all concrete. We can perhaps burn a fire in the middle as long we make vents and clear flammables out of the way? Of course, if the z juice in the water is heat resistant, then the fire idea will be waste of time and resources."
Marcus pauses, "Another thing we can do is make bite resistant armor out of the life vests. It will not be perfect nor save you from a group, but it may save us from ambushers or a couple of zeds. When we are finally settle, I can attempt to hack of what remains of the Internet to see what is all going on?"
