not fixed yet, but ti's still early - they're probably not even at work yet... hope it gets fixed soon!
Black Sun |
It says I can't print my Chronicle - and it must be on your end, because I CAN print other Chronicles.
GM DevilDoc |
Black Sun: Hmm.. I will look into that, but I haven't heard that from anyone else. I'll let you know something tonight.
All: So glad that everything is back up and running. I know I tried to get on here yesterday afternoon, and the site was so slow to even load that I totally ditched any idea of fighting the spinney wheel of boredom and figured I would try again this AM. I hope everyone is ready.. we are kicking it off now!
Cyclic |
Did you try downloading it onto your PC and then printing it? Just curious. How are you printing?
GM DevilDoc |
Black Sun: I am unable to duplicate the problem.. and I even logged completely out of Google and used the link to access the chronicle. I am able to both download and print as well as print straight from the folder. What kind of error are you receiving? What does it say?
I have double checked all the permissions on the folder and they are set fine.. if you are still having a problem, let me know an I can e-mail it or whatever you want. I am curious to know exactly what it is telling you though.
Black Sun |
Last time (and for a moment this time), it said "printing not yet available."
This time, however, it worked. *shrug*
Computers: The epitomes of logic.
GM DevilDoc |
lmao.. they do have a tendency to either make things work really well, or they really screw the pooch. There doesn't seem to be too much middle ground. Glad its working for you now though!
Cyclic |
Say, anyone know of a good deity for an oracle that is all about the cycle of life, disease, death, etc?
GM DevilDoc |
Unfortunately, my computer decided that it didn't want to work today, and is sitting at the repair shop. Hopefully tomorrow I will be back and rolling!

Reminder to whom it may concern: When an arrow/bolt/bullet/dart misses, you have a 50% chance to be able to salvage it later. All of my characters do that (Black Sun, of course, will never need to).
If this were an in-person real-time game, we would be laughing our asses off right now. This fight is a farce all around.
GM DevilDoc |
I completely agree. Some of the best times I have had around a table were under similar circumstances.. The frustration has a tendency to amplify the jokes and sarcasm all around!
Aerian |
Just a heads up. I will be leaving Thursday morning for a 4-day retreat at the beach that lasts til Sunday afternoon, then I have a Sunday night concert to attend. I will take my computer with me, but I may not be able to post much til after I get home. Please feel free to bot me if I delay the game at all.
On Monday, my dog goes into surgery and when he returns home on Tuesday, I will be on a full-time home care regimen with him. He needs to be walked with a belly band whenever he needs to relieve himself or get up to get a drink or eat, so it will be a busy time. (He's an almost 100 lb st. bernard puppy, so he can't be carried for these things).
I'll be able to post regularly again starting Monday, but perhaps not as frequently as usual for a while.... Anyway, sorry in advance for any lack of posting on my part. I will do the best I can.
GM DevilDoc |
I apologize for my sudden absence. I have been extremely sick and had to be admitted to the hospital Monday. I got home this afternoon, so I should be back to a normal posting schedule. Thank you for your patience! Update will be coming soon.
Aerian |
oooh, so sorry you were sick... glad to hear you are home again.. and hopefully lots better!
Jundu |
Wow, sorry to hear that. Welcome back! Feel free to take whatever time you need to recover- don't feel pressured to hurry back. :D
GM DevilDoc |
Thank you all. I am feeling better, and this helps keep me occupied. Now that I am at least up and about, I am going nucking futs just laying about!
Aerian: I hope that your trip is restful and enjoyable. Have fun and be safe! I also hope that all turns out well with your dog! Fur babies and children are the worst when they are sick or injured, because the can't understand what is going on.. they just know pain! My thoughts are going to be with yall!
Jundu |
Glad to have you back.
I just finished running this scenario a couple weeks ago so I am still very familiar with the layout of the tower. As a result I won't really suggest directions for us. Jundu will just follow wherever the group decides to go.
GM DevilDoc |
Well now.. this is putting a bit of a damper on the whole thing. I hope not many others have played/ran this recently. Anyone else?
Cyclic |
Not me. I can make any choices you all need.
Black Sun |
DM, would you (or perhaps somebody else) be willing to run another 1st-level adventure set like this soon? I've got several new characters I'd like to start trotting out.
GM DevilDoc |
I would like to wish all of you a happy holiday season, no matter what path you have chosen to walk. Enjoy the family time and best wishes for all!
GM DevilDoc |
Black Sun: I am not sure about a full campaign arc.. lets see what my bandwidth is holding at after I get through this. Whatever I do, I seriously doubt I will take on three tables of a three part series again any time soon!!!
That being said, I have several new adventures that I am itching to try but sensible enough to put on the back burner for now. Ask me again towards the end of the next mission and we will see what I can put together. There seems to be a real need for low level missions for all the newbies in the Flaxseed Lodge, so the probability is high that I will be following this with something.. I just don't know what yet.
Black Sun |
Would there be an Acrobatics check required to hop up onto the nearer square of the throne, what would it be if so, and could I fit it into 20 feet of movement? Also, can prone creatures make attacks of opportunity?
GM DevilDoc |
I believe that I owe all of you an apology for my erratic posting this week. It has been a rough couple of weeks on the homefront, and this week has seen a number of upsets to my normal schedule. Hopefully, things will have settled out and I can return to a more normal pace, both in life and in my gaming.
Aerian |
no problem... I've actually kind of appreciated the little break... I've got issues of my own going on right now and having to scramble to keep up as it is. Hope all is good with you soon... take care and if you need more time, take what you need. I'll be here and ready when you are.
GM DevilDoc |
Black Sun: I am going to say that yes, the alligator will still get an AOO, but will do so with the prone penalties applied. I can find no rules stating that being prone changes the area of threat or that it denies the subject their dex, with the exception of the applied prone penalties. Even the Grease description only mentions being flatfooted in relation to the making the save, but doesn't specify that FF is applied if you fail.
I am just having a lot of difficulty wrapping my head around a "prone" alligator.. like, how much of a difference can that really make with this type of creature?! Lol.. Such are the rules though..
As for the throne.. I would say that the seat of the throne would be just a step up, I am not going to make you roll an acro check for that. As the troglodyte is in the middle of casting a spell, no worries for an AOO from him, but you would have cover from each other. If this is what you want to do, please move your token.
GM DevilDoc |
Thank you very much, Aerian. I am sorry that the pace has lead to some difficulties.. I am sure that the group can come to an agreement for the next game if that is what you need.

It happens. No worries.

The troglodytes stench. In my description for the room, I asked if anyone moving forward (within 30 ft) could make a fort save.
GM DevilDoc |
Please post your dayjob checks here. If you do not have a dayjob, please post that you don't have one! I will be prepping the chronicle sheets this week.

@Argor: So, what's the deal with Ragathiel? Why do there seem to be so many people so particularly keen on Him?
Cyclic |
@Black Sun
I can answer that one.
Ragathiel has the bastard sword as his weapon which makes him a great choice for classes that get proficiency in their deities weapon. He is also all about conversion and vengence and kicking the butt of evil doers. Makes life a lot simpler for a Paladin when the deity wants them to go out there and slaughter evil. And he's got a cool origin story.
Black Sun |
Shouldn't the swarm go away on its own in a few rounds?
Depending on which spell the chief used, it may be very few indeed.
GM DevilDoc |
Actually, you are correct. I got so rolled up in the reflex saves and getting all of that figured out that I forgot about the two rounds after concentration. Thank you for catching that!
Aerian |
I didn't use my reroll either, but I think I'll keep my 16...
GM DevilDoc |
Black Sun: Did you want to use a reroll for your dayjob?
Ajax: Did you have a dayjob to roll?
